It is same to say that Shahid Afridi is made for shorter format of cricket be it T20 or the latest format T10. In the T10 Cricket League held in Sharjah, Afridi showed that he still has some power left in his tank. The maverick all-rounder at the Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium scored 53 off 17 balls while playing for Pakhtoons against Northern Warriors. During his impressive knock, Afridi teared apart his compatriot Wahab Riaz and clubbed him for four back to back sixes. Afridi came in to bat at number six and lifted his team to 135 for five in their allotted ten overs. The former Pakistan captain during his unbeaten stay smashed three fours and seven sixes. In response, Northern Warriors were restricted to 122 for four. Afridi in his quota of two overs gave away 25 runs, but failed to pick a wicket. The win also helped Pakhtoons to seal a place in the final of T10 League.
Interestingly, the two teams met again in the finals of the T10 League. However, this time around Northern Warriors got better of Pakhtoons and won the match by 22 runs to lift their maiden T10 title. Afridi, the captain of Pakhtoons, promoted himself at number four but only contributed 17 off 7 balls. Earlier for Northern Warriors, Rovman Powell smashed 61 off 25 balls to help his side post 140 for three.
