Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi was caught on camera chewing tobacco during the country’s defence day ceremony at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. The video apparently has gone viral and Afridi, most probably, can be seen chewing ‘naswar’, a dried tobacco. Pakistan’s newly elected Prime Minster Imran Khan also attended the event along with Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa. Several other celebrities from the entertainment and cricket field were also in attendance.
Afridi was sitting in the audience during the ceremony when he was caught on camera putting the pinch of dried tobacco in his mouth. Once the video shared on social media sites, it went viral and netizens started trolling the former Pakistan all-rounder. Shahid Afridi TROLLED for Keeping a Lion Chained in his House
People on Twitter were divided after Afridi’s videos eat viral. While some believed Afridi should have refrained from chewing tobacco during such a prestigious event, others felt it was blown out of proportion.

Shahid Afridi seriously? Right behind PM and COAS...like seriously? We had to talk about their speeches but your naswar took the show away. #ShahidAfridi #GHQ

I don't care if Afridi had naswar or not? Who cares? I wish ya'll would actually pay attention to the things that matter. Like Shahid Afridi foundation and the kind of charity work lala is doing!

Afridi no longer plays international cricket, but participates in T20 leagues around world. He was scheduled to take part in the ongoing Carribean Premier League (CPL), but was ruled out of the action due to his knee injury. He was part of Jamaica Tallahwah’s squad. The all-rounder sustained the injury while playing for Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League earlier this year and is continuing his rehabilitation since then.
