Zimbabwe vs Ireland Highlights And Cricket Score 3rd Match - ODI Summary

End of Over : 41.2 IRE: 191/4

That ends a one-sided yet competitive series. Ireland have whitewashed Zimbabwe but apart from the third game, the first two matches were really competitive. Join us from the 10th of July for the T20I series, beginning at 12.30 pm local (1130 GMT). ADIOS! TAKE CARE!

Victorious Ireland skipper, William Porterfield, says that they aimed to win the series and with 2-0 up, they went for the whitewash and achieved it. On the upcoming cricketers, Porterfield says that he is impressed with the young guys, who have come in, in the last few week and not just come in but made significant contributions. On his 4000 ODI runs and a missed chance to become Ireland's leading run-getter and go past Paul Stirling, William says that Stirling still has some years left in him, so will end up scoring more than Porterfield. But quickly says that these things do not matter and winning the match is more important.

TIM MURTAGH HAS BEEN NAMED THE PLAYER OF THE SERIES. Murtagh says that he is enjoying his cricket but struggles to keep up with the young guys while playing football. On the youngsters coming in, Tim says that they are eager to learn and pinpoints Shane Getkate who displayed nerves of steel in the previous ODI. Hopes to play for a few more games as he is still enjoying his cricket.

Zimbabwe skipper, Hamilton Masakadza says that they tried to play good cricket but Ireland put them under the pump. On the upcoming T20 series, Hamilton says that they need to work on converting their starts into big knocks and also improve their fielding.

Earlier in the day, Zimbabwe managed just 190 after electing to bat. Sean Williams' 67 helped them save some embarrassment after Tim Murtagh's 3-fer had demolished the top order. Please stay tuned for the presentation...

The Zimbabwe bowling never had any real menace to it and they only managed to take 4 wickets in the entire run chase. They managed to keep down the run-rate a bit down in the middle overs but Ireland steadily progressed towards their target.

Ireland record a resounding 3-0 series victory over Zimbabwe and complete the whitewash. This is the first time they are achieving this feat over a Test-playing nation. The run-chase never looked in doubt after the opening stand of 60 between Stirling and McCollum. The total was already a small one and the Zimbabwe bowling was very leaky especially in Powerplay 1 as they conceded 53 runs.
