Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe Highlights And Cricket Score 2nd Match - T20I Commentary
Now then, 120 is the target. The kind of form Liton Das is, one would assume that it will be a walk in the park for the hosts. Let's see if Zimbabwe can do some magic with the ball and make a game out of this run chase. Join for the chase in a while.
The hosts were superb throughout with the ball. After striking early, they failed to get a wicket but made sure Taylor and Ervine had to work really hard for the runs. And, once Ervine was removed the bowlers picked up wickets at regular intervals and never allowed Zimbabwe to score freely. Apart from debutant, Hasan Mahmud, all the bowlers who bowled picked up atleast a wicket.
After being asked to bat first, the visitors lost Kamunhukamwe in the third over but the 57-run stand between Taylor and Ervine helped them take control. However, the duo could not score briskly. Once that stand was broken, Zimbabwe batters lost wickets in heaps and failed to provide the final flourish. Taylor though held onto one end end and with his unbeaten half ton, he made sure the visitors played out the full quota of overs.
Excellent final over from Mohammad Saifuddin means that Zimbabwe fails to even get to over 120 despite after a terrific half ton from Taylor. The hosts would be really pleased with their bowling performance.

Zimbabwe (Playing XI) - Tinashe Kamunhukamwe, Brendan Taylor, Craig Ervine, Wesley Madhevere, Sean Williams (C), Sikandar Raza, Richmond Mutumbami (WK), Tinotenda Mutombodzi, Carl Mumba, Chris Mpofu and Charlton Tshuma (IN FOR DONALD TIRIPANO).
Zimbabwe skipper, Sean Williams, says that he was going to bat anyway, if he had won the toss. Honestly says that his team has been under the pump by the Bangladesh batters putting on a huge score and wants to try and change the pattern. Adds that his team is relaxed and the batters are confident of getting some runs under their belt. Hopes to come out smiling with a win. Informs that Donald Tiripano is not playing today and Charlton Tshuma will take his place.
Bangladesh captain, Mahmudullah, says that his team is playing very good cricket and just needs to be very consistent. On the reason to bowl first, Riyadh is expecting some dew, hence the reason. Informs that there are three changes to his side. Stresses that Tamim Iqbal has been rested and Mohammad Naim gets a chance. Adds that Aminul Islam is not playing and Hasan Mahmud makes his debut. And the final change is Shafiul Islam rested for Al-Amin Hossain.
TOSS - Time for the spin of the coin. Heads is the call from Williams, but it is a Tail. BANGLADESH ELECT TO CHASE.
Bangladesh batting coach, Neil McKenzie, says that it is nice to get the batsmen in some form, especially when you are playing at home. On the Das-Tamim opening combination, Neil just puts it down to massive talent in Bangladesh. Likes specially the hunger shown by Liton while batting and running between the wickets. Is happy to see that the other guys are feeding off Tamim in the squad. Feels that historically, Bangladesh have done well in the ODIs, so it is all about taking a few risks here and there and concentrating on skill-hitting and power-hitting. Cheekily says that they are no West Indies, but can clear the boundaries when they try.
Zimbabwean coach, Lalchand Rajput, is up for a chat. He says that this is work in progress and is looking at the positives in upcoming young bowlers. On the possible ponder of batting first, if given a chance, Rajput agrees, saying that the batting does look weak. But manages a smile all the same.
PITCH REPORT - There seems to be far more green grass out there, which means there will be a little bit more on offer for the seamers upfront.
WEATHER - The weather looks clear and is a little bit cooler than the other day. Perfect day for cricket.
Game number 2 and the final match in Bangladesh's international calendar for a while. The quest is to beat a hapless Zimbabwe in all formats in this tour riding on poor batting and bowling displays from them. Of course, that does not mean Bangladesh have not done well. They have just made hay when the sun has been shining. Hello and a warm welcome to the second and final T20I between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe in Dhaka. Hopefully, we get some contest today.
That's it from this game and series. Bangladesh were too good for Zimbabwe in all the three formats. They won the only Test comprehensively and then swept the ODI series 3-0 and now, in the T20I series they have completed the Banglawash. That's all we have from Zimbabwe's tour of Bangladesh from our end. For now, it is goodbye from our side.
Bangladesh skipper, Mahmudullah, says that the way they have performed consistently, he is really proud of the team. Praises the performance of Das and tells that he showed consistency and hunger for runs. Tells that debutant Mahmud bowled really well too along with the other bowlers.
Liton Das is named Man of the Match for his excellent knock. He also gets the player of the series as well for twin half tons in both the games. He says that he is very proud of his performance. Says that he has changed his mindset and approach in the recent past. Tells that Tamim Iqbal has helped him a lot with regards to his batting.
Zimbabwe skipper, Sean Williams, says that things didn't go positive but they need to be positive. Feels that things change quickly in the T20Is. Tells that they will go back home and reflect on the things that went wrong in the series. Expresses that even the individuals will have to figure out what they are bringing into the team. Praises Taylor's effort with the bat. Feels that as a senior players, they need to lead from the front.
Earlier in the game, after being asked to bat first, Zimbabwe lost the first wicket early but Taylor and Ervine forged a partnership. However, after Ervine's wicket, none of the other batters could do anything of value. Eventually, Taylor's half ton could only take them to 119. The hosts were superb with the ball throughout as they picked up wickets at regular intervals. Apart from debutant Hasan Mahmud, all the bowlers bagged atleast a wicket to their name. And eventually, the hosts walked the talk with the bat to win the series 2-0. Stay tuned for the presentation...
There is nothing much to talk about the bowling from Zimbabwe. Their batters didn't give them enough runs on the board to defend. However, they would've loved to have 3-4 wickets under their belt but all the three batters were just too good for them as they easily milked them for runs.
Zimbabwe had a very small total to defend and against the in-form Liton Das, it was always going to be a tough ask. Das and Naim stitched a brilliant 77-run opening stand and made sure the visitors didn't even get a sniff in this match. Naim fell but Sarkar joined Das and took the side home without any further damage.
As we said earlier, the way Das has worked in this entire series, this could be a walk in the park for Bangladesh and that's how it turned out. Just 1 wicket lost and Das stays unbeaten on 60 to help the side take the T20I series 2-0.
