Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh Highlights And Cricket Score 3rd Match - ODI Commentary

End of Over : 50.0 ZIM: 286/5

Now then, 287 is the target for Bangladesh. If they chase it down, this will be the highest ever chase in ODIs in Chittagong. The pitch is a belter and the ball is expected to skid onto the bat under lights. Will the hosts cleansweep the series or will the away side get a consolation win? Join us in a while to find out.

Sean Williams gives a quick interview on his way back. He says that batting through the innings is a massive tick for him as this is one area which has been letting them down of late. On batting at number 4, Williams replies that it gives him time to get his eye in and admits that in the last game he went into a hole but is glad that it came off well today. On the playing surface, Sean feels that early wickets will be key because of the dew factor. Adds that if they bowl slow as a spinner, there will be turn. Mentions that 300-plus would have been a better total. Emphasizes that they have to take all the half-chances coming their way.

The Bangladesh bowlers did very well to begin with but could not capitalize. Once the swing disappeared, they had no answers to the Zimbabwe batsmen. Even the left-arm spinner could not dictate terms in his first spell. It was Mahmudullah who kept it tight from one end or Bangladesh could have been chasing a lot more. Also, we saw some exceptional bowling from Abu Hider and Saifuddin, both at the start and at the death which played a big role in restricting the visiting team.

Taylor then threw his wicket away but Raza did not let the momentum slip. He came out with a lot of intent and went after the bowlers from the word go. Another handy stand was built between him and Williams with the latter getting to his ton. They looked well on course for something above 300 but Raza's wicket changed the tide. The run rate slowed down a little and 300 looked a little farfetched. A late cameo by Moor once again raised hopes but a poor finish right at the end saw them falling short by a few runs.

Zimbabwe have ended up with a very competitive total here, courtesy one man, Sean Williams. Yes, he did receive able support from Taylor, Raza and Moor but his ton was the highlight of this innings. After being put into bat, they lost their openers for not a lot but then the recovery started. Taylor and Williams stitched a massive 132-run stand. The two played themselves in and accelerated as they got set. The right-hander played as the more aggressive batsman and got to yet another fifty.

49.6 0

Mohammad Saifuddin to Sean Williams. A dot to end an excellent last over. Just 4 from it and 7 from the last two. A yorker on middle, Williams digs it out back to the bowler. ZIMBABWE FINISH ON 286/5!

49.5 1

Mohammad Saifuddin to Elton Chigumbura. Again only a single! Full and outside off, Chigumbura jams it out towards covers for a run. Last ball to go. Can Zimbabwe finish with a bang?

49.4 1

Mohammad Saifuddin to Sean Williams. Make that 3 from the 4 balls. Slower bouncer on middle, Williams pulls it towards deep mid-wicket and a single results.

49.3 0

Mohammad Saifuddin to Sean Williams. The slower ball outside off, Williams swings but misses. So just two from the first three balls.

Elton Chigumbura walks in next with 4 balls left in the innings.

49.2 W

Mohammad Saifuddin to Sean Williams. OUT! Direct hit and Moor is out of here. A full toss on middle, Williams fails to take full toll of it as he mistimes it high up in the air towards long on. The fielder collects it on the bounce. They take one and go for the second. The fielder scores a direct hit at the bowler's end as Moor dives in. He looks up then and sees the umpire raising his finger. Even the dive has not saved him. A good cameo from him comes to an end.

49.1 1

Mohammad Saifuddin to Peter Moor. A single to start the last over. Full on middle, it is hit back towards long off for a run.

End of Over : 49 3 Runs ZIM: 282/4
48.6 1

Abu Hider to Peter Moor. A single off the last ball as well. The penultimate over only goes for 3 runs. Brilliant. Another yorker to end, Moor jams it down to long on and gets to the other end. 18 needed from the last over to reach 300.

Abu Hider to Sean Williams. One ball is out of the way and just a single comes from it as Sean hits it down to long on.

48.4 0

Abu Hider to Sean Williams. DOT! Brilliant bowling! The slower yorker outside off, SW goes for the reverse sweep but misses. Two balls to go, can he finish it off well?

48.3 1

Abu Hider to Peter Moor. And now only a single as Moor flicks it to deep mid-wicket for a run.

48.2 0

Abu Hider to Peter Moor. NOT OUT! Now we know why he was so relaxed. He was in easily although he plonked his bat in rather than dragging. Not a good thinking. Full and on middle, Moor smashes it towards the bowler who is brave enough to put his hand in the way. He deflects it onto the stumps. The players appeal and the umpire takes it upstairs. Replays show that Williams is in. Nevertheless, two dots in a row.

Is that the end of Williams' innings? If it is, it would be a very unfortunate way. He seems relaxed as a run out appeal has been referred upstairs.

48.1 0

Abu Hider to Peter Moor. A yorker just outside off, Moor fails to put bat on it. A dot, gold dust at this stage.

End of Over : 48 12 Runs ZIM: 279/4
47.6 2

Mohammad Saifuddin to Sean Williams. Nice shot! Another slower bouncer outside off, Sean waits and then flat-bats it over the cover fielder. Two taken. Another good over, Zimbabwe are finishing strong here. 12 from it.

47.5 2

Mohammad Saifuddin to Sean Williams. Full and wide outside off, Williams hits it down to long off, it is a touch wide and hence the batsmen run two.

47.4 4

Mohammad Saifuddin to Sean Williams. FOUR! Brilliant shot! Saw the square leg and the fine leg fielders were up. He shuffles across and then sweeps it between the two and into the fence. 50-run stand up, third one of the innings. This though has come up in quick time.

47.3 1

Mohammad Saifuddin to Peter Moor. Top nut! A yorker on middle, Moor digs it past the bowler for a run.

47.2 2

Mohammad Saifuddin to Peter Moor. A slower bouncer on middle, Moor waits and then pulls it in the mid-wicket region. The batsmen run the first one hard which enable them to get the second.

46.5 1

Abu Hider to Peter Moor. Edgy! A full toss around off, Moor turns inside the crease in an attempt to heave it over mid-wicket but it catches the outside edge and runs down to third man for a run.

46.4 1

Abu Hider to Sean Williams. Slower delivery. Short and wide outside off, Sean waits for it to arrive and slaps it past the bowler for a run at long off.

46.3 6

Abu Hider to Sean Williams. FOUR! Take that. What a clean hit! Hider delivers it on a length and angles it into the batsman. Williams latches onto it and muscles it over wide long on for a biggie.

46.2 1

Abu Hider to Peter Moor. Pitches it up around off, Moor forces it out towards extra cover for a run.

46.1 0

45.6 4

Mashrafe Mortaza to Sean Williams. FOUR! Excellent end to the over! A huge one for Zimbabwe, one that they needed. 19 from it. Williams makes room and smashes it through covers. No need to run for those.

45.5 1

Mashrafe Mortaza to Peter Moor. A low full toss outside off, not easy to hit those. Moor strokes it towards covers for a single.

45.4 1

Mashrafe Mortaza to Sean Williams. Tries to play the scoop but gets into position too early. Mortaza bowls it very slow. Williams misses, the ball hits his pads and rolls towards the leg side. Leg bye taken.

45.3 1

Mashrafe Mortaza to Peter Moor. Well bowled! Comes from around the wicket and bowls a yorker outside off, Moor jams it down towards long off for a run.

45.2 6

Mashrafe Mortaza to Peter Moor. SIX! BOOM BOOM! Moor hits consecutive maximums. Is this the over which turns the momentum? Length again on middle, Moor heaves it across the line, connects well and it sails over the mid-wicket fence. 250 up and 28 balls more to go.

45.1 6

Mashrafe Mortaza to Peter Moor. SIX! Once again a boundary to start the over! The slower ball on off, Moor picks it and hits it over the long on fence. Need to make this over count.

Mashrafe Mortaza is back on.

End of Over : 45 7 Runs ZIM: 238/4
44.6 1

Nazmul Islam to Peter Moor. Darts it on the stumps, Moor hits it down to long on for a run. So despite the boundary on the very first ball, just 7 comes from the over.

44.5 0

Nazmul Islam to Peter Moor. DOT! Lovely comeback by the bowler after going for a boundary on the first ball. Just two runs after that. Once again it is fired full and wide outside off, the batsman fails to jam it out.

44.5 wd

Nazmul Islam to Peter Moor. Fires it full and wide outside off, left alone. Wide called.

44.4 1

Nazmul Islam to Sean Williams. And now a single! Slower through the air, Sean mistimes his reverse sweep towards point for a run.

44.3 0

Nazmul Islam to Sean Williams. Sean comes down the track and takes it on the full, he smashes it back towards the bowler who stops it with his leg. Two dots after a boundary.

44.2 0

Nazmul Islam to Sean Williams. A yorker on middle, Williams jams it out.

44.1 4

Nazmul Islam to Sean Williams. FOUR! Ideal start to the over! A full toss on the pads, Williams sweeps it through mid-wicket and the ball races away. This is now Sean Williams' highest ODI score.

End of Over : 44 5 Runs ZIM: 231/4
43.6 1

Mohammad Saifuddin to Sean Williams. Gets to his ton! His second in ODIs and one that has come after 2015. A long time coming and what a time to get it! Zimbabwe were reeling at 6 for 2 and now he has taken them out of trouble. His job though is not done as he needs to stay there till the end. Holds the key for the visitors, if they are to reach the 300-run mark. On middle, Williams eases it down to long on and sets off for a run. He lets out a huge roar while completing the run, takes his helmet off and celebrates.

43.5 0

Mohammad Saifuddin to Sean Williams. Still does not get it! A slower ball on middle, Williams pushes it back towards the bowler. Saifuddin dives to his right and makes a good stop. Good effort that, this will build pressure on Williams.

Mohammad Saifuddin to Sean Williams. The batsman has punched that ball through the offside. One run added to the total. Moves one short of a 100.

End of Over : 43 4 Runs ZIM: 226/4
42.6 1

Nazmul Islam to Sean Williams. On off, Williams strokes it through covers for a single. 4 runs and a wicket from the over. Islam is bowling a good second spell here.

42.5 1

Nazmul Islam to Peter Moor. Fires it on off, Moor pushes it through covers for a run.

42.4 1

Nazmul Islam to Sean Williams. Misunderstanding, but all safe in the end. Williams plays a paddle sweep towards short fine leg and then is ball-watching. Moor wants a run and is almost next to Sean. He then sees that and goes for it. The fielder throws it to the keeper who wrongly is standing ahead of the stumps. Which means, he takes more time to collect the ball and whip the bails off. Moor till then has made it in. He now fires it at the bowler's end but misses. Rahim later gestures that he didn't see that coming.

42.3 1

Nazmul Islam to Peter Moor. Eased down to long on for a run.

42.2 0

Nazmul Islam to Peter Moor. Tosses it up on the stumps, defended.

Peter Moor is the new man in.

42.1 W

Nazmul Islam to Sikandar Raza. OUT! Raza holes out! How gutted will he be with himself there? A full toss, a gift. He would hit that into the stands 9 times out of 10 but this was the one time he did not. He hits it straight down the throat of Sarkar at long on who accepts an easy catch. A timely wicket for Bangladesh and that too a big one as Raza has the ability to strike big. He walks back after getting a start and the 84-run stand has been broken. Also, it was his wicket in the last match which opened the floodgates. Will we see a repeat?

End of Over : 42 10 Runs ZIM: 222/3
41.6 2

Mohammad Saifuddin to Sean Williams. Yes, they can! A couple to end as Williams flicks it through backward square leg for a brace. 10 from the over.

41.5 1

Mohammad Saifuddin to Sikandar Raza. Shorter in length around middle, Raza pulls it through mid-wicket for a single. A good over till now for Zimbabwe, can they end it well this time?

Drinks break. Zimbabwe continue to go strongly in spite of losing Brendan Taylor. Sikandar Raza has come out with positive intent and yet another dangerous looking partnership is developing as far as Bangladesh are concerned. Final 90 balls left in the innings and given the hitting prowess of Sikandar, the visitors will be eyeing a big finish. Bangladesh would like to limit the damage by picking wickets at regular intervals. This is also the phase where Zimbabwe faltered in the last game. Let's see how they fare today.

Sikandar Raza is the next man in.

26.4 W

Nazmul Islam to Brendan Taylor. OUT! In the air... taken! Taylor once again fails to make his start count. Again is dismissed for 75. Another Zimbabwe batsman who has got out to a rash shot. Masakadza tries to keep it out but misses to get hit on the pads. A huge appeal follows but the umpire shakes his head. Hider is convinced he has his man and wants it to be reviewed. Rahim though says it is going down leg and they opt not to take it. The replays later on show it would have clipped the leg stump.

Mohammad Saifuddin to Cephas Zhuwao. OUT! TIMBER! Saifuddin strikes on his third ball. An early breakthrough for Bangladesh and the crowd here are ecstatic. But you have to question Zhuwao, what kind of shot was that? Especially so early in the innings. Just not acceptable. Nothing special about the delivery, it is on a length and around off, Zhuwao goes for the heave across the line. The ball was not short enough to play that shot. It sneaks under his bat and hits the top of off. The batsman bags a duck.

We are all set for the game to begin. The Bangladesh players make their way out to the middle and they are followed by the Zimbabwean openers - Cephas Zhuwao and Hamilton Masakadza. The latter will be on strike and he will face Abu Hider who will bowl with the first new ball. Here we go...

Zimbabwe's skipper, Hamilton Masakadza wanted to field first as well. Mentions that the dew comes in later on and makes it easier to bat. Admits they could not kick on in the death overs despite having a platform in the last match. States they are eager for a win as it will give them confidence heading into the Test series. Informs they have two changes as Wellington Masakadza and Richard Ngarava come in for Tendai Chatara and Brandon Mavuta.

Bangladesh's skipper, Mashrafe Mortaza says they will want to bowl first as dew will be a factor again. Credits his bowlers to pull things back in the last game. Informs there are a few changes for them as Sarkar, Ariful and Hider come in for Rahman, Hasan and Mahmud. States that they want to win this game and clean sweep the series.

Toss - Bangladesh win the toss and opt to field.

PITCH REPORT - It is very hot and today they are playing on a brand new pitch. It though looks similar to the one they played on in the last game. The wicket lacks moisture. The ball will come onto the bat nicely under lights. The captain winning the toss will want to bowl first with dew being a factor.

Hello and welcome everyone! Time for the third ODI which also happens to be a dead-rubber after Bangladesh took an unassailable lead in the last match. They have shown good dominance in the series and will be eyeing a clean sweep. Zimbabwe, on the other hand, continue to struggle but they have shown improvement. They will wish to get a consolation win today before the Test series. Let's hope for a good game.

End of Over : 42.1 BAN: 288/3

We are done with the ODI series. It is Bangladesh who have won it 3-0 and Zimbabwe have now lost 13 matches on the trot. Both the teams now will turn their attention on the longest format which will begin on the 3rd of November. The first Test will be played in Sylhet at 0930 local (0330 GMT). Till then take care and goodbye!

Imrul Kayes is the unanimous choice for the Man of the Series award. He is glad to get a chance to prove himself. Adds further he wanted to do something for the team and is happy with how he has played. Credits the way Sarkar batted and says he released all the pressure. Hopes to do well in the Test series as well.

Man of the Match, Soumya Sarkar says he is very pleased with his performance as he was out of the team before this game. Ends by saying the wicket was really good to bat on and he enjoyed batting out there.

Zimbabwe's skipper, Hamilton Masakadza says the defeat today was tough as they batted well. Mentions Kayes and Sarkar batted really well and they took the game away from them. He feels the batters will head into the Test format with some confidence and hopes that the players added to the squad will bring some luck.

Earlier in the day, it was a strong batting performance from Zimbabwe. Powered by Sean Williams' century and his partnerships with Taylor, Raza and Moor, they managed to post a challenging total on the board. However, their bowlers failed to turn up and they suffered yet another massive loss.

The pair of Kayes and Sarkar went after the bowlers right from the outset and both notched up their centuries. Sarkar, in particular, was in blazing form, amassing 6 maximums in his knock of 117 as he took the Zimbabwean bowlers to the cleaners. Kayes was initially the aggressor but once Sarkar got going, the former was happy to play second fiddle. The duo, however, could not stay there till the end as one perished shortly after getting to his ton and the other got dismissed with just 13 needed for a win. However, Rahim and Mithun ensured they did not lose any more wickets and finished the game off with ease.

BANGLADESH INFLICT A CLEAN SWEEP! A mockery, that is exactly what Bangladesh have made of this run chase. This is the highest run chase on this ground and they have done it without breaking a sweat. At the start though, they lost their first wicket on the very first ball of the chase, but then Soumya Sarkar and Imrul Kayes joined forces and smashed a record partnership of 220 runs.
