The Windies bowling was rather listless today. Yes, the Brabourne Stadium is batting friendly, but conceding so much anywhere is poor. The wickets weren't easy to come, but what the visitors didn't do effectively was plug the run flow. Allowed Rohit and Rayudu in particular to score too freely. All went for a lot of runs.

Needless to say, a mammoth total on the board for the Men in Blue. And it's all because of the local boy Sharma and Rayudu's 211-run stand. Electing to bat, Dhawan and Rohit got their side off to a flier. Dhawan departed and Kohli soon followed, but Rohit found an able ally in Rayudu and the two mixed caution with aggression perfectly. Rohit went on to cross 150, while Rayudu scored a fine century of his own. Dhoni, Jadeja and Jadhav added some vital, quick runs down the order and ensured India got to 377.

On the previous game, he stresses that India were in control till he and Pant were batting but unfortunately both got out very quickly. Indian skipper, Virat Kohli, reckons that the surface looks nice and hard and he has heard that there is not much dew here around the evening. Also feels that there could be some movement later on. Feels that this is a high-scoring ground and informs that his side has got more batting depth today. Wants to give his bowlers some extra rest, hence the decision to bat first. On the Windies, Virat agrees that they are side which cannot be taken lightly at all as they play hard cricket. But feels that losing is also a part of the journey and how a team bounces back from a loss is a true indication of its character. On the team news, Kohli informs that Kedar Jadhav and Ravindra Jadeja come in for Rishabh Pant and Yuzvendra Chahal.

PITCH REPORT - Sunil Gavaskar reckons that the surface looks good for batting, devoid of grass. feels that the spinners will get a little bit of grip but it will be beautiful for batting. Observes that the outfield is lush green and the ball will travel. Adds that India might want to chase here, as dew is a possibility.
