India vs West Indies Highlights And Cricket Score 2nd Match - T20I Commentary
Shikhar Dhawan is caught downstairs for a chat. He says they started a bit slow but then took off after that. Credits Rohit for the way he batted. On Oshane Thomas, he smirks and says that thankfully he didn't play on this time. On the pitch and stadium he mentions that it is one of the best in the world. Says that Windies are going to come hard at them and he hopes India wins the game.
Not a lot to write about the Windies bowlers. They started well but could not continue. Khary Pierre had a day to forget. The skipper too was taken to the cleaners. Keemo Paul was good with the ball but he was poor in the field. Had he taken Dhawan early on, it could have made a big difference. Now though they have to put all that behind and now try and chase this target down. It is going to be very tough but someone from their team will have to put in a brilliant performance. Will they do so? We will find out but first, Dhawan is up for an interview.
The pair stitched a massive 123-run stand before the southpaw was dismissed a few runs short of his half ton. Pant too followed him shortly but Rohit Sharma continued. Lokesh Rahul's excellent cameo did not let the pressure get to him and the two added a quickfire 62-run stand in just 28 balls. To add to that, India managed to smash 66 in the last 5 with the hit-man getting to his ton.
Another Rohit Sharma show is what we witnessed here. And when he gets going India are more-or-less going to post a massive score on the board. They have done so, a daunting 196 is what the Windies need to chase down. After electing to bowl, the visitors started off really well initially but once Rohit and Dhawan got their eye in, the runs started to come at ease. The ball then started to find the fence quite regularly.
Carlos Brathwaite to Rohit Sharma. No 200, only a single to finish. This is eased down to long off for a run. A massive last over. 20 from it and INDIA FINISH WITH 195/2!

Carlos Brathwaite to Rohit Sharma. FOUR! Poor from Brathwaite. He just could not control his aggression. Bowls a brilliant yorker which is jammed out towards him. He has a needless shy at the striker's end. It is a wild throw. The keeper had no chance and it goes to the third man fence. Third boundary in a row.
Carlos Brathwaite to Rohit Sharma. 100 for Rohit Sharma. He gets there with back-to-back boundaries. Pumps his fist and then raises his bat to acknowledge the applause by the crowd. What an innings from the opener. It is his fourth in this format and now he sits at the top of the pile with the most no. of T20I tons. Talk about leading from the front. Keemo Paul to Lokesh Rahul. In the air... dropped! Pollard has dropped it. A tough chance but the big man normally gobbles them up. Rahul mistimes it in the air towards long on. Pollard there comes running in, puts in a dive and tries to catch but the ball does not stay in his hands. A couple taken.
Keemo Paul to Lokesh Rahul. Goes for the reverse but misses. These are delightful to watch when they come off but ugly when they don't. Not sure if he needs to hit that when he hits them so well in front of the wicket.

He tries to find the fence again with a slog sweep, does not get the desired elevation and it goes flat towards Hetmyer at deep mid-wicket who takes it. So two quick wickets for Windies and that is the only way they can contain the Indian run rate.

Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma, says they were looking to bowl first. Adds further it is the first game here, so he is not sure how the pitch will play. Reckons there is good grass covering so it should hold up well. Mentions the dew will be there in both the innings. Informs there is one change as Kumar comes in for Yadav. Ends by saying the decision was not easy but Kumar has been their no. 1 bowler for a long time and his experience will play a part.
Windies skipper, Carlos Brathwaite, says it is a new stadium and he is not sure what the wicket will do and hence wants to chase. Mentions the dew plays a big factor in his decision. Informs there is one change as Nicholas Pooran comes in for Rovman Powell.
Toss - Brathwaite calls it right and they elect to field first.
Pitch report - Murali Kartik and Sunil Gavaskar say there is fair covering of grass along with the cracks so it is difficult to predict how the wicket will play. They expect it to not change a lot as it is a T20 game. Reckon there will be some moisture under the surface and it may assist the pacers. End by saying it is a big playing surface.
Hello and welcome to the 2nd T20I between India and Windies. It's the festive season here in India and the hosts will look to wrap up the series tonight itself. They were put under pressure in the first game but then came on top eventually. Much more were expected from the Windies because of their T20 reputation but they didn't live up to it. They will look to come stronger tonight and take the series till the last game. India will want to improve their top order batting as it failed. In other news, the 'Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana' cricket stadium will be hosting its first T20I game, becoming India's 52nd international venue. Toss and team news coming your way.
That is it from this game! India have once again come out on top and have sealed the series 2-0. They will now look for a clean sweep in the third T20I. Can the Windies avoid it? We will find out on the 11th of November in Chennai at 1900 local (1330 GMT). Till then, take care and goodbye!
Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma, says they started off cautiously as they wanted to understand how the wicket was behaving. Mentions he tries to do his best on any given opportunity and he dedicates the knock to the fans. Adds further he is glad to win the series and the game. States Dhawan plays in an attacking way but he wanted to take his time today. Admits the partnership between him and Shikhar was very crucial and Lokesh Rahul's cameo towards the end was very useful. States the use of Bumrah is different to the way they use him in the ODIs. Further adds Khaleel can swing the ball and hence he was given the new ball. Ends by saying the stadium is wonderful here and he enjoyed the game they played tonight.
Windies skipper, Carlos Brathwaite, says they weren't that good in the field in this game. Credits the way India batted and is disappointed with the way his team batted. Mentions they are a young team and are learning from each and every game. Admits they do not have an opener and are still trying to find the perfect combination at the top. He is hopeful his side can put up a better performance in the final game.
Khaleel Ahmed who is giving an interview says there was more responsibility today as he was given the new ball ahead of Bumrah. Adds that it is not easy to bowl in the Powerplay but he feels he did it well. Mentions he is working on his bowling and it is coming off well. States he was observing the pitch while their batting and knew what he had to bowl. Ends by saying he is happy to play for India and it is always a big thing.
The Indian bowling was once again spot on. Khaleel Ahmed was the star at the start. He was given the new ball and he impressed one and all. He finished with a two-fer. Everybody except Krunal Pandya had two wickets each to their name. Kumar ended with the best figures as he went for only 12 in his 4. All-in-all it was a clinical performance by the Indians.
Another thumping performance from India has seen them seal the series with a game to go. To be honest, it was all set up by their skipper, Rohit Sharma who scored a magnificent ton to set a massive target for the Windies. They needed an exceptional start to chase this down but did not get it. Their top order failed to make an impact while their middle order once again did not come to the fore. 23 was the highest score of their innings and that itself speaks a lot about how poor they were with the bat.
Jasprit Bumrah to Oshane Thomas. A bumper to end, perfect pacers response after getting hit for two boundaries. Oshane goes for the pull but fails to make contact. He is down on the ground. Karthik throws the stumps down at his end but Oshane is in. A dot to end and INDIA WIN BY 71 RUNS!

Replays show, the on-field call has to be overturned as there was no bat involved.
An appeal for both a catch and an LBW. The umpire raises his finger for one of the two, the catch I feel. Paul though has reviewed it.
