India vs West Indies Highlights And Cricket Score 1st Match - T20I Commentary
1st Inn
2nd Inn
End of Over : 20.0WI: 109/8
Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers and Krunal Pandya was also economical in his spell of 4 overs. Khaleel also bowled right lines and lengths. Fabian Allen was the highest scorer with 27. Even Pollard's experience did not help the Windies to post a big score around 150-160. The hosts had a great day with the ball and it is now upto the batsmen to pull this chase comfortably. Stay tuned for the run chase.
Okay then. 109/8 - LOWEST TOTAL BY WINDIES AGAINST INDIA IN T20IS. The Indian bowlers have restricted the visitors to a below par score on this track. The tourists did not apply themselves properly. They lost most wickets due to rash shots. Hope's run out was the most bizarre thing in the Windies innings.
Deep Dasgupta is interviewing Krunal Pandya. He says that it was a great and proud feeling for him to get the cap and play for his country. Adds that it turned out to be nostalgia for him as he went into yesteryears, remembering all those days when he first started to play cricket. On him dismissing his Mumbai teammate, Pollard, Krunal smiles and says that he will now keep reminding him every time he meets him. On the total, he feels that the bowlers have done their job and it is now upto the batters to do theirs.

10.1W
Kuldeep Yadav to Darren Bravo. OUT! Half the side is down now! Poor cricket from Windies. Poor cricket from Bravo. All sorts of shambles and India are not even being allowed to bowl well. Wickets are being handed on a platter. The one man who could have perhaps batted out the 20 overs has been dismissed a ball after the 10th. Full on middle, Darren looks to swing it over long on but barely gets to the pitch of the ball. He finds Shikhar Dhawan at the ropes who takes it smartly, with a leap to his right.

Fuller in length, slightly slower, Pollard tries a repeat of his previous six but this time, the ball arrives a bit late and he is already through his shot. It goes off the inner half of the bat and lobs towards long on where Manish Pandey takes it calmly. 4 down, nearly half the overs bowled and the score is not even half of what can be called as the par score at Eden. Trouble.
9.10
Krunal Pandya to Kieron Pollard. The arm ball, skidding on, Pollard misses his flick and is rapped up on the pads. An LBW appeal ensues but that seemed to be missing leg.

Darren Bravo is the new man in.
4.4W
Jasprit Bumrah to Shimron Hetmyer. OUT! In the air... taken! Three wickets in three overs. Not a lot of teams win the game after losing three in the Powerplay. The bouncer does the trick. It is short and it hurries the batsman. Hetmyer goes for the pull but the ball takes the top edge and lobs high in the air towards short fine leg. Karthik runs towards the ball, calls for it as Khaleel there is also interested. He lets it be for the keeper as he has the gloves on and Dinesh takes it with ease. Bumrah strikes in his first over and the Windies slip further.
4.34
Jasprit Bumrah to Shimron Hetmyer. FOUR! That has raced across the turf! On the shorter side, Hetmyer pulls it through mid-wicket and the ball races away. It is just a matter of beating the fielders in the rin, there is no stopping the ball after that.

3.1W
Khaleel Ahmed to Shai Hope. OUT!RUN OUT! Comedy of errors there. Hope flicks it towards mid-wicket. He then thinks of a run, takes a few steps ahead. Hetmyer responds first but then seeing Hope stop, he turns and runs back. Hope does not see that as he was watching the ball and runs towards Hetmyer's end. Rahul collects the ball and his throw is a poor one as it is above the keeper. However, Manish Pandey shows great match awareness as he is backing up. Comes running in from point, collects the ball and dislodges the bails. The umpires though are not sure as to who is run out. They go upstairs to find out and replays show, it is Hope who has to walk back. So, two wickets in two overs for the Windies and they are in a spot of bother.
End of Over : 36 RunsWI: 22/1

Shimron Hetmyer walks out to the middle.
2.1W
Umesh Yadav to Denesh Ramdin. OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Ramdin starts to walk there and India draw first blood. A tentative push. No foot movement and it was played away from his body. End of Over : 18 RunsWI: 8/0
0.60

0.54
Umesh Yadav to Shai Hope. FOUR! But he is putting away the bad balls. Short and it sits up to be hit. Hope rocks back quickly and pulls it through mid-wicket for a boundary. Second of the first over.
0.40

Hope strokes it through extra cover. Pandya from mid off hares after it. He slides and tries to stop it with his left hand but unfortunately, the ball hits his right hand and creeps towards the ropes.
0.10
Umesh Yadav to Shai Hope. And straightaway he is on the money. Also gets some shape away but that came onto the bat really nicely. On a length and around off, shapes away. Hope goes back and guides it off the middle to point.
Done and dusted with the National Anthems and the bell here at the Eden Gardens has been rung by Mohammad Azharuddin, which means we are all set for the action to begin. The Indians make their way out to the middle. Shai Hope and Denesh Ramdin are the openers. The former will take strike and he will Umesh Yadav who has the new ball in hand. Here we go...

Informs they have a few debutants with a few experienced players as well. Ends by saying, they have three debutants, Oshane Thomas, Khary Perry and Fabian Allen. Ends by saying, Khary Perry is an exciting prospect.
Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma, says this ground always favors the team chasing as the dew plays a massive role in the second half. Mentions they have to do the basics right and adapt to the shorter version as soon as possible. Further adds it is very important to know your role. Informs bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yuzvendra Chahal misses out, Umesh Yadav comes in and Kurnal Pandya is making his debut.
Toss - India win the toss and they elect to field.
Sunil Gavaskar doing the pitch report observes that the track looks quite hard with a few cracks. Reckons that the ball will come on to the bat quite nicely and play on the rise on this surface. But also feels that the odd ball will grip and turn.
India on the flip side are without their original skipper, Virat Kohli. Despite that they are a team full of superstars. They are just about favorites as they are playing in familiar conditions. With two heavyweights of this format clashing, we can surely expect a cracking encounter.
Hello and welcome to the first T20I between India and the Windies. A new format and one in which the latter are a force to reckon. They are missing a few big name players but still have a number of match winners.
End of Over : 17.5IND: 110/5
That is all we have for you from this game. It was not an entirely one-sided affair and the Windies did make a fist out of it. The second T20I will now be played on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at 1900 local (1330 GMT) in Lucknow, which will be another new venue in India. ADIOS! TAKE CARE!
KULDEEP YADAV HAS BEEN NAMED THE MAN OF THE MATCH. Smiles and says that it is very important to take wickets in every game but sometimes things do not go his way. On his favourite dismissal in this game, Kuldeep says that the one he got by bowling seam-up, was his best as the batsman was foxed. Stresses that this is one delivery which he is working on as in T20 cricket, batsmen always come after you or if they cannot score of you, they get singles. So, it is important, he says, to keep on developing oneself.
Victorious Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma, agrees that it was an exceptional performance with the ball by India. Adds that the pitch had something in it for both seamers and spinners. Is happy that his bowlers made the perfect use of the conditions on offer. Admits that the run chase got a bit tricky but looks at it as a learning curve for batsmen, when conditions get tricky. On Oshane Thomas, he reckons that the fast bowler is a good talent and an interesting prospect with decent height. Observes that he gets the kick from his height and predicts that if he gets it in the right areas, he can be a handful. Wishes him a good future. On Krunal and Khaleel, Sharma is excited with the talent on offer. On the former, Rohit says that he has been playing with Krunal in the Indian T20 League and praises him for coming to the captain and demanding the ball to bowl to Pollard. Is confident that the all-rounder can make this game count.
Windies captain, Carlos Brathwaite blames his batsmen for batting in only one gear - third, never looking to try and settle down in the middle. But is happy for his bowlers. States that the unit is a young one which wants to express itself. Laments the current state of the Windies and wants the pride to be restored, as it was, in the 70s and the 80s. Is proud of Thomas and wants him to grow as a cricketer and wants him to work on his fitness. Reckons that he could be the next Joel Garner.
Earlier in the evening, India restricted the Windies to a 'paltry' 109 which did not turn out to be that paltry in the end. Not surprisingly, the bowling was disciplined and accurate but towards the end, became a bit wayward.
Nothing to feel ashamed of, for the Windies. Their batsmen let them down but the bowlers bowled their hearts out. Keemo Paul was the only disappointment, as he struggled to build on the pressure piled on by Thomas. But the rest did well.
The top order Indian batsmen might look at this as an opportunity lost. Not many times do you see THIS Indian side lose wickets quickly and tonight was a chance, for batsmen announcing their names for the future, to make themselves count. The bowling was good, no doubt but the batsmen threw their wickets away.
Comfortable victory for India in the end. They did make a heavy weather of it though. Oshane Thomas struck terror in the top order while Brathwaite picked up 2 in the middle. However, the total was not that great to put pressure on the batsmen and eventually, one good partnership sealed it for the hosts. That was the 38-run one, between Pandey and Karthik.
17.52

India vs West Indies Highlights And Cricket Score 1st Match - T20I Commentary

Brilliant catch from Karthik behind. Sorry state for the Windies. Oh dear... it will be even worse when Rovman sees the replays in the dressing room. Kuldeep Yadav to Darren Bravo. OUT! Half the side is down now! Poor cricket from Windies. Poor cricket from Bravo. All sorts of shambles and India are not even being allowed to bowl well. Darren Bravo is the new man in.
Jasprit Bumrah to Shimron Hetmyer. FOUR! That has raced across the turf! On the shorter side, Hetmyer pulls it through mid-wicket and the ball races away. It is just a matter of beating the fielders in the rin, there is no stopping the ball after that.

Khaleel Ahmed to Shai Hope. OUT! RUN OUT!
Umesh Yadav to Shai Hope. On the pads, Hope flicks it, there is a man at deep square leg, so just a run. 6 runs and a wicket from Umesh's second.
Umesh Yadav to Shimron Hetmyer. Plays this nicely towards covers for a quick run.
Umesh Yadav to Shimron Hetmyer. Ohkay, so Hetmyer has decided to go after the bowlers. He tries to go over mid on this time. There is no timing on it and it goes on a couple of bounces to the fielder there.
Umesh Yadav to Shimron Hetmyer. FOUR! Off the mark in style! It was a length ball outside off, Shimron moves his front leg out of the way and lofts it straight back over the bowler's head. Boundary.
Umesh Yadav to Shimron Hetmyer. Almost gets another! What a peach! On a length around off, it comes back in sharply. Hetmyer fails to adjust and it cuts him into half.
Shimron Hetmyer walks out to the middle.
Umesh Yadav to Denesh Ramdin. OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Ramdin starts to walk there and India draw first blood. A tentative push. No foot movement and it was played away from his body. That brings about the downfall of Ramdin. It was an outswinger outside off and on a length. Ramdin hangs his bat out. The ball takes the edge and goes into the mitts of Karthik.
Khaleel Ahmed to Shai Hope. FOUR! Spoils the over! 8 from the second also. Down the leg side, Hope puts it away with a flick shot. It races to the fine leg fence.

Umesh Yadav to Shai Hope. Once again it is a length ball around off, Hope is happy to block it out. So the batsman has started watchfully.
Umesh Yadav to Shai Hope. Pulls it back and lands it on a length around off, Hope defends it.
Umesh Yadav to Shai Hope. FOUR! Windies are underway! A poor effort in the field sees them open their tally with a boundary. Slightly fuller in length and there is not a lot of swing this time. Hope strokes it through extra cover. Pandya from mid off hares after it. He slides and tries to stop it with his left hand but unfortunately, the ball hits his right hand and creeps towards the ropes.
Umesh Yadav to Shai Hope. And straightaway he is on the money. Also gets some shape away but that came onto the bat really nicely. On a length and around off, shapes away. Hope goes back and guides it off the middle to point.
