Windies' bowling was not up to the mark. They did bowl well in patches but never created enough pressure. Kemar Roach was the pick of the bowlers as he tested the batsmen with his pace and accuracy. Their spinners, although picked late wickets, were a major disappointment on a helpful deck. Dowrich collects the ball and lets out a muted appeal initially. Then, they go for the DRS more as an afterthought. The replays roll in and they show that it has taken a faint outside edge. For a moment, we thought it was due to the bottom of the bat brushing the surface but the other angle confirmed that the spike was generated due to the outside edge. A terrific review in the end. First success for Warrican, Windies claim the eighth wicket but it's Bangladesh in the driver's seat.

Windies started well initially but once Mahmudullah and Shakib started to counterattack, they went flat. Kemar Roach once again was the best bowler on show but he didn't receive much support from his partners. Given the nature of the pitch, their spinners have been a big disappointment. The tourists are staring down the barrel and need a big effort from hereon to turn things around. It's advantage Bangladesh going into the break. If Day 1 was about sharing sessions, Bangladesh have been selfish on Day 2. Came out with a very positive intent and hammered 128 runs in the morning in spite of losing Shakib Al Hasan. On this surface, he states that he is bowling a lot slower and hopes that it will offer more spin as the match progresses to the quicker ones as well. On not bowling more googlies, Bishoo replies again that he wants to keep it simple and bowl his leg spinners with more accuracy.

PITCH REPORT - Tino Mawoyo doing the pitch report says that there are few areas drying up. Adds that the conditions are conducive for spinners. Reckons that the ball won't turn as much as it did in the last match and his suggestion to the batsmen is to trust their defense. The tourists picked up a couple of wickets late in the afternoon session and then removed Mushfiqur Rahim soon after the Tea break in a bid to gain an upper hand. But Shakib and Mahmudullah made sure to see off the day's play safely. The Bangladeshi skipper did get a reprieve on 31 when an lbw decision wasn't reviewed by Windies. Zooming on the bowling performance, Kemar Roach bowled his heart out while Sherman Lewis also looked in rhythm in the spell where he sent Rahim packing. Roston Chase and Devendra Bishoo were among the wickets but Jomel Warrican was a major disappointment.

Earlier, Bangladesh won the all-important toss and had no hesitation in batting first. Debutant Shadman Islam and Soumya Sarkar provided them with a steady start but then Roston Chase hunted down the latter with a lovely off spinning delivery. Another partnership developed after that but just before the Lunch break, Kemar Roach picked up the prized scalp of Mominul Haque. Mohammad Mithun and Shadman joined forces to raise a 64-run stand post Lunch and the debutant went on to notch up a fine half century, thereby impressing everyone with his temperament.

Windies didn't bowl badly but they weren't too threatening, particularly the pacers. Also, compared to the regular spinners, Warrican and Bishoo, Chase looked more penetrative. They would like to get better with their lines and lengths post Lunch and create further inroads. The visitors already have been lucky twice that two promising partnerships got broken just in time. They just can't afford to let the batsmen settle in on this surface. Having said that, the Bangladeshi debutant, Shadman Islam, has looked quite compact in his first outing and will like to make it count. Do join us in a short while for the second session.

Excellent end to the session for the touring team. Although it was owned by the hosts until the last ball. They won a good toss and their openers laid a strong platform. But just before the Drinks break, they lost Soumya Sarkar. The pitch was offering plenty of spin and bounce right from the beginning, and Roston Chase was the one to provide the initial breakthrough. Yet another partnership developed after that which also ended before the break. Losing Mominul Haque is a body blow to Bangladesh but they bat deep and given the way this surface is playing, the home team would not be too disheartened.

The hosts registered a comprehensive win in the last match and would be eyeing to take revenge for their last series loss in West Indies with a 2-0 scoreline. Bangladesh have enforced the follow-on! History has been made. This is the first time ever they have done so. A thoroughly dominant show by their spinners. Mehidy Hasan roared with a 7-wicket haul while Shakib Al Hasan claimed a 3-fer. Apart from a fifty partnership between Dowrich and Hetmyer, there was no fight shown by Windies. Badly exposed. No technique. No skill. No temperament. No application. They lacked the main ingredients to succeed in Test cricket. No doubt it was challenging, it was supposed to be that way on this surface, but the tourists showed no stomach for a fight. They will get one more chance now, let's see how they fare against the spin trial this time around. Stay tuned.

The hosts have really planned this Test match superbly. Batted sensibly without taking any unnecessary risk on Day 1 and then capitalized on it on the following day. After all the hard work put in by the batsmen, their bowlers have now turned on the heat and it's all Bangladesh at the moment. Earlier in the day, Bangladesh showed a lot of intent with the bat as they switched gears in the morning. Runs started to flow and they managed to form quite a few partnerships to reach 508. Mahmudullah stroked a patient century while the lower order also contributed to the cause. Windies' bowling was very dismal, mainly from their spinners as they failed to exploit the friendly conditions.

Yet another sorry batting performance by Windies. They were exposed badly by the spin pair of Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan and lost half their side inside 12 overs. Their lack of skill and temperament was once again on display as the Bangladeshi spinners steamrolled them. All the five wickets were bowled which also shows the accuracy with which the Bangla tweakers bowled, something the Windies bowlers failed to achieve.
