West Indies vs Bangladesh Highlights And Cricket Score 5th Match - ODI Commentary
1st Inn
2nd Inn
End of Over : 50.0WI: 247/9
Apart from being a bit slow, there isn't much in this pitch. The start initially against the two new balls will be crucial as in the middle phase, timing the shots will be a bit difficult. It's a modest target on the board but Bangladesh would like to approach carefully. Let's see whether West Indies challenge them this time around with the ball or not. Do join us in a short while.
Earlier, it was Jason Holder's call to bat first and his openers provided a decent start. But soon West Indies found themselves in a precarious situation after losing their top four for only 99 runs. Mehidy and Shakib bowled brilliantly in the middle overs to never allow West Indies off the hook and then the old gun, Mashrafe Mortaza picked the prized wickets of Shai Hope and Jason Holder to peg the opposition back furthermore. Mustafizur Rahman also found some form and finished with a 4-wicket haul.
Terrific bowling performance by Bangladesh! They have restricted West Indies under 250. Once again the major contribution came from one of the top order batsmen but apart from him, there wasn't much fight shown by the middle order. Jason Holder's century partnership with Shai Hope put the Caribbean team on track for a score close to 300 but the Bangla Tigers roared back in the last 10 overs to dismiss both the set batsmen. The desired finish never came for the team in maroon and they managed a below-par total only.
49.61
Abu Jayed to Kemar Roach. Outside off, Roach hammers this down the ground. Jayed rushes to his left to stop the ball but it hits his shin and deflects towards mid-wicket. The batsmen take a run. 11 from the final over as West Indies finish 3 shy of 250.
49.51

49.46
Abu Jayed to Sheldon Cottrell. SIX! It is a top edge but the Men in Maroon will not care. They are edging closer to that 250-mark. A short ball, around middle, following the batsman as he backs away, Cottrell swings hard and the top edge flies over long leg!

48.60
Mustafizur Rahman to Sheldon Cottrell. How did that miss the leg stump? A length ball, outside leg, Cottrell gives himself room and swings hard, only to miss. The ball just misses the leg stump by a whisker. The difference between a Michelle and a 4-fer for the Fizz. 9-1-43-4 today.
Sheldon Cottrell is the last man in. Will the West Indies be able to play out their full quota? One ball left for the Fizz to take a fifer.
48.5W
Mustafizur Rahman to Raymon Reifer. OUT! LBW! Wicket number 4 for Mustafizur. Full and straight, swinging in, Reifer plays all around that, looking to flick but misses and is hit on the pads. Mustafizur appeals and up goes the finger. That looked dead plumb.

45.61
Mashrafe Mortaza to Ashley Nurse. Miscommunication but all okay in the end. Outside off, Nurse looks to punch it through the off side but gets a bottom edge behind. Now, Nurse does not want the single but Reifer calls him through. Rahim charges in and has an under-arm shy at the striker's end as the batsmen eventually go through. Mustafizur Rahman to Shai Hope. This time Shai gets bat on ball. The length is a bit short and around off, Hope stands back and slaps it down to long on and scampers across for a couple of runs. Rahim is heard screaming something maybe in Bangla and my colleague feels that he is irritated there as the fielder in the deep was very lazy in releasing the ball from the deep. It is time for the 5th ODI of the tri-nation series! Bangladesh just need a win to seal their spot in the final against the Island nation who have already sealed theirs. Remember they also did lose their earlier game against Bangladesh and revenge would also be on their mind. Should be a good game, stay tuned! The toss is not far away...

That is it from this game then. Congratulations to Bangladesh but hard luck for Ireland, who have been knocked out even before they play their final league game. With that being a certified dead rubber, hopefully we get a good contest. Join us on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 10.45 am local (0945 GMT). ADIOS! TAKE CARE!
Victorious Bangladesh skipper, Mashrafe Mortaza, says that it was a good performance, though he admits that they did not start well. Credits the way the bowlers bounced back. Wants to play hard cricket against Ireland and win. Agrees that their first aim was to go to the final with a win today itself. Now, wants to play good cricket on Wednesday and then see what happens in the final.
West Indies skipper, Jason Holder, says that they were not 100 percent in the field and wants to make sure they do better in the final. Adds that they want to improve every single time they step on the field. Considers his partnership with Shai Hope vital but admits they failed to carry on. Mentions that they need to keep improving and do better in all the three departments.
MUSTAFIZUR RAHMAN HAS BEEN NAMED THE MAN OF THE MATCH. He is called up for an interview but he does not turn up for the chat!
The bowling and fielding from West Indies were very mediocre. A few chances went down and had they been a bit clinical, this chase would have become quite interesting. Plenty to ponder for them, not only in the field but also with the bat as their middle, lower order batting hasn't lived up to the expectation. Stay tuned for the presentation...
Chasing a modest target, their openers set the tone with a 54-run partnership and the middle order capitalized after that. West Indies tried their best through Ashley Nurse's spell in the 21st over where he picked Shakib and Sarkar in quick succession but the 83-run partnership between Rahim and Mithun put the chase to bed. Holder managed to break this stand but the Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman carried on to stitch yet another fifty partnership with Mahmudullah and also completed his 33rd ODI half century.
Easy win for Bangladesh! They have once again thumped West Indies to get into the final and will once again lock horns with the same opposition for the tri-nation trophy. Just like their last meeting, the Asian team proved to be the better batting and bowling side.

West Indies vs Bangladesh Highlights And Cricket Score 5th Match - ODI Commentary
Abu Jayed to Sheldon Cottrell. Backs away to the leg side again and swings cleaner this time, but ironically, this is just a single as this one goes to deep mid-wicket. A run taken.
Abu Jayed to Sheldon Cottrell. SIX! It is a top edge but the Men in Maroon will not care. They are edging closer to that 250-mark. A short ball, around middle, following the batsman as he backs away, Cottrell swings hard and the top edge flies over long leg!
Abu Jayed to Kemar Roach. The batsman fails to get bat on that one and is hit on the pad. Leg bye given by the umpire.
Abu Jayed to Sheldon Cottrell. Around middle and off, heaved towards deep mid-wicket for a single.
Abu Jayed to Kemar Roach. Around off, Roach hops across and defends.
Abu Jayed to bowl the final over. 8-0-46-0 so far.

TOSS - West Indies win the coin flip. THEY DECIDE TO BAT FIRST!!!
It is time for the 5th ODI of the tri-nation series! Bangladesh facing West Indies but Ireland will be watching closely and will hope that the men from the Caribbean win or else the hosts will be knocked out. Bangladesh just need a win to seal their spot in the final against the Island nation who have already sealed theirs. A lot to play for, West Indies too would love to give a player or two rest before the final and make use of this game to get some valuable practice!
