Andy Balbirnie is caught for a chat. He says that it has been a great start with the bat after winning the toss and would love to back it up on the field. Informs us that he has been feeling good since quite sometime and that he has been hitting the ball well. Admits that the role of number 3 has given him a lot of confidence and thanks the team management and coaching staff for the same. Reckons it has given him responsibility and now he just tries to keep things simple. Signs off by telling that it kind of does not count if one gets a 100 but does not win the game and that there are a big 3 and a half hours ahead for his team.
Coming to the bowling, Gabriel was the only one who had a good day. He bowled economically as well as picked 2 wickets. Kemar Roach had a really bad day as he was taken apart and went wicketless as well. To the bowlers' defense though, the pitch had absolutely nothing on it and it was pretty good for batting. After winning the toss, William Porterfield elected to bat first and it did not look too good as they lost the new opening batsman, James McCollum early. After that though, the Irish buckled up and sent West Indies on a leather hunt. Paul Stirling and Andy Balbirnie, who walked in at number 3 racked up 146 runs for the second wicket and set the base for Ireland to reach a big score. Stirling and Porterfield who walked in to replace him fell in quick succession but Kevin O'Brien came in and joined Balbirnie to set another good partnership of 84. Andy fell on 135 but not before ensuring that his side would reach at least 300. Adair walked out at the end and hit a few lusty blows to take the score to 327!
What an exceptional batting performance this has been from the hosts. They have reached a massive total of 325-plus on good batting conditions on the back of a scintillating century from in-form man, Andy Balbirnie. There were two good fifties, from Paul Stirling as well as Kevin O'Brien while Mark Adair put some finishing touches at the end to push the hosts to this total.

Windies skipper, Jason Holder tells us he is happy to be bowling, expecting moisture on the surface early on and some help for the pacers. When asked what they need to do post their loss to Bangladesh, Holder feels that improvement is needed, that's all and that they were a few runs short in the previous game, and that they need to maximise the last few overs with a set batsman being in. Informs that they have one change, Fabian Allen comes in for Shane Dowrich.
Ireland skipper, William Porterfield says that he want to bat first because he thinks the surface will be decent to bat on but might slow down due to the amount of cricket played. He informs that it has not been the best of weeks with the two losses but they have worked hard and come back for this game. Hello and welcome to the fourth ODI of this tri-nation series in Ireland. The only team without a win so far in this series, the hosts Ireland will be playing West Indies in a repeat of the initial game of the tournament. Back then, the hosts got thrashed by whopping margin of 196 runs courtesy the record opening partnership between John Campbell and Shai Hope of 365 runs. The former did miss his team's previous game against Bangladesh which they lost and it remains unknown if he will return today. On the other hand, Ireland, though they are not in the World Cup are a proud team and they will need 2 wins in their 2 games so that they can have a shot at being in the final. Their opposition today, the team from the Caribbean are not exactly a team that is consistent. When it rains, it flows for them and the two games of theirs so far have shown us exactly the same. The home team would hope that today is an off day for their much more experienced and much more fancied rivals, otherwise it looks tough for them to stop the West Indies from getting their second win on the board. Right then, West Indies qualify for the final with this win. That means only one out of Bangladesh and Ireland can come in. Ireland will hope for Bangladesh to lose both their remaining games, one of which is against Ireland themselves. The next game though is West Indies versus Bangladesh on the 13th of May, Monday at 1045 local (0945 GMT) where the former will be looking for revenge for the earlier loss in the series. Victorious West Indies skipper, Jason Holder says that it is a very good victory. Credits Sunil Ambris and all the other batsmen who supported him. Tells that he was happy to bowl first but in the end, it was one of those wickets where one had to see how it plays. He mentions that they want to keep improving every game and that it was really nice to see the boys chase a daunting target of 300-plus which gives them confidence going ahead.
Ireland skipper, William Porterfield says that it is a tough loss. He feels that the wicket was slightly tricky to start with and praises his batsmen who batted well. He reckons that the pitch slowed up a bit and bowling became tough and that the total just wasn't enough. Well about the bowling of Ireland, not much can be said. It was always going to be tough to bowl on this surface and that was exactly what happened. They got carted all around the field by Ambris and co. and in the end, failed desperately in the attempt to defend 327. Rankin did get 3 wickets but was very expensive just like the others who did not look like having too much of an impact. All this meant that West Indies recorded their highest ever run-chase in ODIS! Chasing 328, the away side needed a good start and that is what they got scoring 73 runs in the Powerplay. Hope did not last too long post that but almost every batsman who came in contributed. Sunil Ambris though took the opportunity by the scruff of the neck and ensured he made it count. An incredible 148 off just 126 balls along with significant knocks from others meant that the boys from the Caribbean got over the line with ease.
