Ireland vs Bangladesh Highlights And Cricket Score 6th Match - ODI Commentary

End of Over : 50.0 IRE: 292/8

So 293 to get from 50 overs on this batting-friendly track and one would feel that Bangladesh are on top. Ireland will have to bowl really well to defend this total. Bangladesh's reply is not too far away. So don't forget to join us for the second innings.

As for Bangladesh's bowling, Abu Jayed was the star for them picking up his maiden 5-fer in ODI cricket. Rubel Hossain and Mohammad Saifuddin were the others who got into the wicket's column and the latter's brilliant final over saw Ireland fail to reach the mystic 300-run mark. Shakib Al Hasan though had a nightmare of a day with the ball. In his 9 overs he went for 65 runs and took only a wicket.

After winning the toss and opting to to bat first. Paul Stirling got them off to a good start but James McCollum had a brief stay at the crease. Andy Balbirnie was looking good out in the middle but he could not last long either. But then what followed was classic batting. The two experienced batsmen, Stirling and Porterfield, showed their class and excellence. The duo added mammoth 174-run stand for the 4th wicket with Paul Stirling going on to get a brilliant century and his skipper just missing out on a well deserved century by 6 runs. Ireland though could not make the most of the partnership. Once Porterfield got out, the others followed him. The Irish might be slightly disappointed to miss out on getting 300.

Hmmm.... 292/8! Ireland have got a good score. But do they have the bowling to stop a hard-hitting Bangladesh side?

Bangladesh skipper, Mashrafe Mortaza says they would have batted first as well had they won the toss. Tells that they need to keep the momentum going as it is very important and carry it on to the finals. Informs there are a few changes for this game but he cannot remember.

Ireland skipper, William Porterfield says that the pitch looks good and hopes that they can add more runs as the batting has been good and hence they are batting first. Tells that it is a crazy month as they have a lot of cricket to play in the Irish summer.

TOSS - Ireland win the toss and opt to bat first.

Hello and welcome to the final round-robin phase game of this Tri-nation series. Bangladesh are undefeated in this series and would look to continue their dominance heading into the final. Ireland, on the other hand, are yet to win a game and would want to end their series with a win. Can the Irish team spring a surprise or will the Asian team do what is expected of them to do? Stay tuned for updates as the toss is not far away.

End of Over : 43.0 BAN: 294/4

Thus, the league phase of the tri-nation series ends with another simple win for Bangladesh. They head into the final as favorites to win it, with two wins already in the series over their opposition in that game, West Indies. It will be played on the 17th of May, Friday and will begin at 1045 local time (0945 GMT). See you for that one. Till then, it is goodbye from us. Take care and cheers!

Victorious Bangladesh skipper, Mashrafe Mortaza says that it was a nice wicket to bat on. Adds that their bowling wasn't too bad as they restricted Ireland under 300. Lauds the batting effort, especially from the top order. Mentions that they have a lot of confidence heading into the final and considers it a very important match. Signs off by saying that they have to play really well on that day.

Ireland skipper, William Porterfield says that it was disappointing for them. Adds they they were short with the bat and ball and praises Bangladesh for playing better than them. Regarding future games, Porterfield informs that they will be facing Afghanistan and they know what to expect from them.

Abu Jayed is given the Man of the Match award for his maiden fifer in ODIs. First, he thanks the Almighty and then thanks his bowling coach, Courtney Walsh.

Earlier in the morning, Ireland won the toss and elected to bat first but they could only rack up 292, that too mainly due to a ton by Paul Stirling and a good knock of 90-plus from their skipper, William Porterfield. The lower order did wield the willow a bit but they could not get over 300, which would still be a little under par on this beautiful batting deck. Thus, the total of 292 proved far too little in the end and the hosts ended the tournament without a win. The presentation to follow...

Coming to the bowling of the Irish, well, not much can be said. They were off the mark again today as they were throughout the series. Adair was the only bowler with an economy of under 6 runs per over, which is one of the reasons why the Bangla Tigers chased down this total with 7 overs to spare!

Needing 293 to win, Bangladesh got off to a sedate start with 58 runs in the Powerplay losing no wicket. The openers went on to add 117 and it was when Tamim chopped on, that Ireland had their first wicket. Liton Das too got dismissed after scoring 76. Shakib Al Hasan was batting beautifully and got to his half ton but then had to limp off due to a side strain. That would be the only worry for the Asian side as they head into the final with another commanding victory.

This chase has been another stroll in the park for Bangladesh. They have been the best side on show in this tri-nation series and showed us why exactly once more! A complete batting performance where every batsman in the top 5 scored more than 30, with 3 of them getting to their half centuries. And when a team does that, usually 292 is chased down with ease!
