Sean Williams second Test hundred, however, couldn’t overshadow the hard work put by the Zimbabwe middle-order after slipping into 133/4 at one stage. Pacers Suranga Lakmal and Lahiru Kumara backed up Angelo Mathews' Day 4 double ton to ensure a 10-wicket win for Sri Lanka in their first Test against Zimbabwe on Thursday in Harare. Lakmal picked up four wickets and Kumara took three as Zimbabwe were all out for 170 in their second innings.

Senior batsman Angelo Mathews scored his maiden double century as Sri Lanka secured a first-innings lead of 157 runs on day four of the first Test. Mathews finished unbeaten on 200 as he took Sri Lanka past 500-run mark.

Zimbabwe lost by 118 runs against Bangladesh in their last Test match before the ICC ban. Despite the defeat, they drew that series against Bangladesh with their 151-run victory in the 1st Test match ending the series as 1-1. Zimbabwe have gone a wholesome change since then with their captain in that series – Hamilton Masakadza – not the country’s director of cricket.
