West Indies vs Sri Lanka Highlights And Cricket Score 3rd Match - Test Commentary
Lahiru Kumara was once again the pick of the bowlers for the tourists. He bowled with pace and discipline to pick a 4-fer. Yesterday, Lakmal had jolted the opposition early with a couple of wickets. Rajitha continued the good work as well. The home side was reeling at 53/5 and then, Dowrich and Holder came to their rescue. After a few showers, the pink ball was moving around but the pair batted with a lot of grit and determination. So, it is a pretty good score considering the surface and the precarious situation the hosts were in. They also have a hostile bowling line-up and will be aiming to utilize the conditions. It will be a tricky phase for the visitors as they have around 7 minutes to face before Tea. Join us shortly.
A brilliant bowling performance from Sri Lanka but credit has to be given to the hosts as well for their resilience. The result is a competitive total on the board for Windies. It was the pair of Dowrich and Holder who came to the fore. They continued to play freely this morning after they had stitched a 79-run stand last night. They added 36 runs in quick time as well, with the Windies skipper, Jason Holder following in the footsteps of the wicket-keeper batsman to score a fifty. Their contribution was 145 out of the team's 204, that tells you how well they batted on a two-paced track.
Lahiru Kumara to Shannon Gabriel. OUT! That's the final nail in the coffin! Third 4-fer for Lahiru Kumara in this series and he is absolutely elated! He steams in and bowls a back of a length ball in the tight off stump corridor. The ball moves away a touch with extra bounce. It proves too much for Gabriel as he edges it behind to Dickwella who makes no mistake. THE WINDIES ARE BOWLED OUT FOR 204!
The fielder from square leg moves a bit in front.
Lahiru Kumara to Kemar Roach. Fuller length ball outside off, played with soft hands to covers. One run is taken.
Lahiru Kumara to Kemar Roach. Good length ball, angling in, Roach answers it with a straight bat.
Dilruwan Perera to Shannon Gabriel. Floated delivery on middle and leg, Gabriel strides ahead to keep it out.
Dilruwan Perera to Shannon Gabriel. The batsman has played that off the front foot and into the ground.
Dilruwan Perera to Shannon Gabriel. As expected, he goes for the big shot. Outside off, Gabriel throws his bat at it but mistimes it over covers. Gets away with it and manages to get off the mark with a couple.
Dilruwan Perera to Shannon Gabriel. Another loopy delivery, Gabriel once again comes forward in defense. He is not one to hang out, let us see for how long he remains patient.
Dilruwan Perera to Shannon Gabriel. Tossed up ball on middle and leg, Shannon lunges forward in defense.
Shannon Gabriel is the last man in.
Dilruwan Perera to Miguel Cummins. OUT! A soft dismissal! The bowling change has paid dividends with immediate effect. Perera comes from around the wicket and tosses this one up generously. The ball drifts in towards Cummins. He comes forward and tries to block it down the pitch but the ball takes the inside edge of Cummins' bat and lobs towards short leg. Kusal Mendis stationed there accepts it gleefully.
Dilruwan Perera returns for a bowl.
Lahiru Kumara to Miguel Cummins. On a length on middle and leg, turned through square leg for a run.
Lahiru Kumara to Miguel Cummins. Full length ball attacking the stumps, pushed off the front foot to mid off.
Lahiru Kumara to Miguel Cummins. Edged but safe! In the corridor of uncertainty, Cummins has a tame push at it and gets an outside edge. He has played that with soft hands and hence, the ball falls short of second slip.
Lahiru Kumara to Miguel Cummins. A play and a miss! Outside off, Cummins fishes at it and gets beaten.
Lahiru Kumara to Miguel Cummins. Almost a replica of the previous delivery and the result is the same.
Lahiru Kumara to Miguel Cummins. On a length outside off, Miguels lets it go.
Kasun Rajitha to Miguel Cummins. In the air... but safe! Shortish ball on off, Cummins goes for the big pull across the line but gets a top edge and the ball goes behind the keeper. The keeper and the slip fielders run after it. The fielder from fine leg also runs to his left but the ball falls in no man's land. Tough luck! A run is taken. That brings up the 200 for the Windies.
Kasun Rajitha to Miguel Cummins. Outside off, left alone.
Kasun Rajitha to Miguel Cummins. Now, this one has kept low. It pitched on the same good length area but this time it didn't have extra bounce. Cummins pushes at the delivery but the ball goes past his bat and bounces before reaching the keeper. The two-paced nature of the track is on display.
Kasun Rajitha to Kemar Roach. Fuller ball on middle and leg, tucked to the leg side for a run.
Kasun Rajitha to Kemar Roach. As soon as the third slip was moved out, a ball goes through the same region. When a tailender is batting, there are bound to be false strokes. This one straightens from a length and catches the outside edge of Roach's bat. A couple of runs result.
The third slip has moved out after the boundary and a deep point is in place now. Not the right ploy I feel. There are two tailenders batting.
Kasun Rajitha to Kemar Roach. FOUR! Poor delivery and duly punished! Short and width on offer, Roach frees his arms and slaps it through point for a rocketing boundary. These are handy runs for the hosts.
Lahiru Kumara to Miguel Cummins. Another short ball, this time outside off. Pretty harmless and Cummins lets it go.

Kasun Rajitha to Miguel Cummins. Cummins pokes at a length delivery but gets beaten.
Kasun Rajitha to Kemar Roach. This is some serious stuff! Once again, Roach takes a blow on the gloves. This one lands on a length and takes off again. Roach tries to come forward but is taken aback by the bounce. The ball deflects off his gloves and rolls towards backward square leg. A run taken. Ominous signs for Sri Lanka, this is not an easy track to bat on.
Kasun Rajitha to Kemar Roach. Hangs back to the short of a length delivery and defends it towards the vacant short leg region.
Kasun Rajitha to Kemar Roach. Where did that come from? That one took off like a plane. Jeff Dujon mentioned in the pitch report that the good length area is the one from where some balls can bounce a lot or some can even keep low. Rajitha bowls this one on the same area and extracts alarming bounce from there. Roach is caught in a tangle. He takes his eyes off the ball and attempts to fend it away but is hit on the gloves. The ball lobs towards point and falls down safely. That must have surely stung.

Lahiru Kumara to Kemar Roach. Hangs back to the length ball and keeps it out.
Lahiru Kumara to Kemar Roach. Pitched up ball, pushed towards mid off.
Miguel Cummins is the new man in.
Kasun Rajitha to Jason Holder. OUT! What a catch! No matter how many times you look at the replays, you are going to admire the effort of Dilruwan Perera. Rajitha bowls a back of a length ball outside off and gives some room to Holder. He tries to force it through the off side but the ball catches the outer half of his bat and flies towards gully. It is really traveling as well. Perera stationed there reacts in a jiffy. Dives to his left like a goalkeeper and goes for the catch with both hands. Does brilliantly to hold onto it even after tumbling down. His teammates barge towards him to congratulate him. A terrific knock from the Windies captain nonetheless.
Kasun Rajitha to Jason Holder. The batsman shows the full face of the bat and defends the ball off the back foot.
Kasun Rajitha to Jason Holder. Continues to bowl in the probing off stump channel and draws an outside edge but it falls short of second slip.
Kasun Rajitha to Jason Holder. FOUR! This is the right ploy from Holder! He is running out of partners. He knows that he is timing the ball nicely and he is backing himself. Tries to hit it down the ground but the ball flies off the outer half of the bat and goes over covers to roll to the fence.
Kasun Rajitha to Jason Holder. That one sounded sweet! Back of a length and some width on offer, Jason stands tall and just pushes it through covers. The timing is spot on and he is rewarded with a brace.

Lahiru Kumara to Kemar Roach. On a length outside off, Roach lets it go.
Kemar Roach strides out to bat.
Lahiru Kumara to Devendra Bishoo. OUT! Kumara has another one! It is not Holder but he will happy that he has at least got the better of Bishoo. He comes from around the wicket and bowls a heavy ball. It pitches on a good length and straightens a bit. That is enough to induce a thick outside edge from the bat of Devendra as he pushes at it with hard hands. The ball flies towards second slip where Mendis dives to his right and takes a fine catch.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. Pitched up ball outside off, played with soft hands through covers for an easy single.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. In the zone outside off, Jason lets it go.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. Howzat? That looked so close in real time. Kumara once again goes wider of the crease and bowls a length delivery around off. It seams in prodigiously as Holder is caught in the crease. He tries to block it tentatively but fails to do so and is hit on the back leg. The Sri Lankans go up in unison. However, Ian Gould shakes his head. Lakmal walks up to his bowler but unfortunately, there are no more reviews left. He has a wry smile on his face. Ho ho ho! The Hawk Eye shows three reds. The Snicko also doesn't spot any edge. Holder is a lucky man.
Dilruwan Perera to Devendra Bishoo. Perera tries to catch Bishoo off guard with a quicker one. It is in line of the stumps as well. Bishoo is up to it as he camps back and dead-bats it.

Time for a breather. Drinks has been in called by the umpire.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. Gets behind the line of the delivery and keeps it out.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. FOUR! A rather lucky escape again for the Windies skipper. Short and into the grille of the lanky Holder, who goes for the defensive push. The ball rises on him and gets the shoulder of his bat. It goes through backward point and races away to the boundary.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. The batsman shoulders arms to let that one through.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. Wide! Bumper from Kumara but too high over Holder's head. Some exercise for the umpire.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. Touch too full in the line of the stumps. Jason flicks it through mid-wicket region and takes a brace.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. On a length around off and defended back to the bowler.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. Some chin music for Holder, he lets that bouncer through to the wicket-keeper.
Dilruwan Perera to Jason Holder. Flatter one around middle, Holder pushes it to the mid on region and keeps the strike for the next over.
Dilruwan Perera to Jason Holder. FOUR! Damn! What is pressure? Holder has no idea about this word. After four dot balls, he gets a flighted one around off. The quick feet from him gets him closer to the pitch of the delivery and he lofts it powerfully over the bowler's head. The ball bounces just inside the fence and goes to the boundary. He is keeping Windies in the contest.
Dilruwan Perera to Jason Holder. Uppish but safe. Tossed up outside off, Holder looks to drive it but stops at the end. The ball lobs in the air and towards to the cover region but safe.

Devendra Bishoo walks out to bat.
Lahiru Kumara to Shane Dowrich. OUT! Yes, it is plumb! Kumara has done the job for Sri Lanka. Dowrich has to walk back. Lahiru pushes it from wide of the crease and into the stumps, Dowrich shuffles across and tries to flick it. The ball skids after pitching and hits him on the front pad. Lahiru cries for the decision, and the umpire Ian Gould has no problem in giving it out. Dowrich knows straightaway that he has missed a bad one and starts walking but Holder stops him and asks him to go for the review. He obliges. The replay comes in and tells the same story, the ball is hitting the middle stump. A set batsman is taking the long walk back. Can Sri Lanka wrap up the tail early now?
Dowrich is given out LBW. He has taken the review though after some discussion with his skipper. It looks plumb but is it? Let's wait for the third umpire.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. The batsman works it down the leg side. They pick up a single.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. FOUR! Authoritative. That's the only word coming to my mind right now. He has hammered that. What a shot to bring up his 7th Test half century. It isn't a bad ball on off stump but the full length prompts Jason to go for the full-blooded off drive. Though the ball was in the air for a while, the fielder at mid off had no chance of getting anywhere near it.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. Similar length on middle and off, Holder gets behind the line and keeps it out.

Kasun Rajitha to Shane Dowrich. Back of a length around off, kept out by Dowrich.
Kasun Rajitha to Shane Dowrich. NOT OUT! It was too high. Desperation, eh? Pushes this one on a back of a length just outside off. Dowrich hops to flick it but misses and the ball raps him on the top of his front pad. Kasun appeals along with his team but the umpire is unmoved. After a long discussion with his bowler, Lakmal goes for the review. The Hawk Eye rolls in and suggests that the ball was going over the stumps indeed. Sri Lanka lose both their reviews with this one.
Sri Lanka have gone for the review. Shane Dowrich is the man in the limelight and the question is regarding an LBW decision. Looks high to the naked eye and the umpire seems to think that way as well.
Suranga Lakmal to Shane Dowrich. Short and into the body of Shane, who gets into position quickly, swivels and dabs it to the fine leg region. One run results.

Kasun Rajitha to Jason Holder. FOUR! Ooh, that was a jaffa! This one moved and almost had Holder. Angles it in on a good length, keeps it between the sticks and Holder pushes at the ball, trying to play it across. But the outcome of the push is the leading outside edge and the ball rushes between the slip cordon and gully for a boundary. Nice probing length but Jason gets away with it.
Kasun Rajitha to Jason Holder. Gets behind the line and keeps it out.

Kasun Rajitha to Jason Holder. Four Byes! Not the start Sri Lanka would have hoped for. Rajitha starts with a loosener down the leg side, Holder misses the flick. The ball evades the keeper and goes to the fine leg boundary.
We are set to get underway. The players and the umpires are making their way to the middle. Shane Dowrich and Jason Holder will be aiming to keep the Sri Lankan bowlers at bay. Kasun Rajitha to continue his over. Here we go...
Update 1430 Local (1830 GMT) - Good news, folks! The sky is blue once again and the sun is basking in all its glory. The groundsmen are slowly taking the covers off. We should have started by now but probably, we will be back real soon. Don't go anywhere.
Pitch Report - Jeff Dujon surveys the pitch and says that on a good length area, there's a lot of grass and some grey areas just besides it. Adds that just like yesterday, there will be a lot of uneven bounce. Further says that the balls pitching on a good length area are taking off and getting big on the batters. However, adds that nothing has changed in the pitch really, it's slightly uneven. Concludes by saying that even with the unpredictable weather, there's still a chance of a result.
Update 1420 Local (1820 GMT) - Oh no! There is a bit of drizzle in the air and the pitch has been covered. However, Ian Bishop on air informs us that some blue skies are visible on the eastern side and so, we won't have much of a delay.
Darren Ganga is interviewing Shane Dowrich on the sidelines. The wicket-keeper says that it becomes easier to bat after getting in. Mentions that the talk was to have patience and bat as long as possible. Expresses that he is a good friend of Holder off the field and enjoys his company on-field as well. Feels that the pink ball does a lot under lights and he just focuses on keeping the basics right.
Suranga Lakmal has led his team from the front while his partners were up to the task as well. For the Windies, Shane Dowrich and Jason Holder have held fort with an unbeaten 79-run sixth-wicket partnership. Barring the weather in Barbados, the contest should be an exciting one. Live action starts in a short while, stay tuned!
Hello! We are back for the second day of the third and final Test match between West Indies and Sri Lanka at Kensington Oval, Barbados. After the exploits of the first day, both the teams will be itching to get into the thick of things. Even after the several rain intervals, the momentum didn't really swing to one side or the other.
... Day 2, Session 1 ...
The last session started late due to wet outfield and rain. Once the action resumed, Jason Holder and Shane Dowrich batted together convincingly and stitched an unbeaten partnership of 79. The latter reached his 7th half century in the process and together with his skipper, he made sure that there were no more hiccups till the next rain interval. The play could have been extended had the rain gods shown some mercy but it wasn't to be. Out of the 90 allotted overs, only 46.3 could be bowled on Day 1. As a result, we have an early start on Sunday. Do join us at 1430 local (1830 GMT) then. Till the next time, ciao! Meanwhile, you can catch all the action from the 5th ODI between England and Australia, that starts in a few hours from now.
However, this didn't bother Sri Lankan bowlers in the first session. Suranga Lakmal laid the foundation, and Lahiru Kumara and Kasun Rajitha built on it. They picked up four wickets for 46 in that mini session and had Windies at 8-3 at one point. Their consistent probing around the off stump area meant that the second session of mere 12.3 overs was put into their kitty as well. They broke a dangerous looking partnership between Shai Hope and Shane Dowrish just before the second rain stoppage and went to (early) Dinner with their tails up.
Update 2235 Local (0235 GMT) - That's it for the day folks! It's STUMPS, DAY 1! Unfortunately, play has been called off for the day. The rain has made sure that the covers are here to stay. It has been that kind of an evening to be honest. Start-stop, start - stop, start - stop! No this isn't some game I am playing, it's the game going on in Barbados. The rain has played for more time than the two teams battling out in the middle. Since the first session in the afternoon, where just 21 overs were bowled, we have had more intervals than action.
The tale has been about fightback. Shane Dowrich and Jason Holder have been as resolute as a leech. The way the insect clings on to its prey, the duo has clung in the middle. The wicketkeeper batter brought up yet another half ton in the process, his third consecutive 50+ score in the first innings in this series. The latter had been largely watchful before getting the scorecard moving. Their 79 run stand, close to 3.50 runs an over stands testimony to that. About the Lankan bowlers, there's just the one line - persistent yet nothing to show for. Perhaps this break changes their luck. We'll keep you posted, don't go far away.
Update 2217 local (0217 GMT) - Oh, oh! Rains! They're here, forcing the players off the field. They aren't too heavy, as unlike earlier, the players are trudging off and not rushing. Now, talking about speed, figure this. The centre of the field is covered quickly. Oh, speed and groundsmen. That's something. The optimist in me feels that we should be back soon. But alas, weather doesn't depend on optimism or pessimism. Well, this gives us a moment to have a glance at what happened between the last break and this one...

Kasun Rajitha to Shane Dowrich. FOUR! Not a great follow-up. Strays on the pads, Shane gets inside the line and looks to flick. Gets some glove to that and the ball then deflects off his thigh pads and goes away to the fine leg fence.
Kasun Rajitha to Shane Dowrich. Vicious swing on this one. Rajitha delivers it at an angle in, it lands around middle and then curves away. Dowrich gets squared up as he defends and looks bamboozled while looking at the pitch.
Kasun Rajitha is back on.
Dilruwan Perera to Jason Holder. JH bunts this one off the front foot onto the ground.
Dilruwan Perera to Jason Holder. What happened there? Floated slower through the air, Holder looks to punch it down the ground. Misses the ball as it goes straight on. The keeper misses it as well. The slip goes to his left and catches the ball that had lobbed off the keeper's gloves.
Dilruwan Perera to Jason Holder. Wonderful front foot defense displayed to this one outside off.
Dilruwan Perera to Jason Holder. Slower through the air outside off, Jason pushes it towards covers.
Dilruwan Perera to Jason Holder. Floated outside off, Holder lunges and defends.

Dilruwan Perera is back.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. Length ball again, as Suranga drags his length back. Jason blocks it towards covers.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. FOUR! Delectable! Such was the shot that comments like 'best shot of the day' and ilk are making rounds here. This is overpitched outside off, Holder's front foot comes forward, bringing down the bat expertly along with it. Meets the ball with the full phase to send it crashing through the gap between mid off and covers. Neither of them stood a chance of getting close to the ball, leave alone stopping that one. The stand moves to 71 now.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. Kumara slants it in from outside off, Holder plays forward and gets his bat down a tad late. The ball goes towards slip.
Lahiru Kumara to Shane Dowrich. Angling in on a length, tucked away quite comfortably through square leg for one.
Lahiru Kumara to Shane Dowrich. A low full toss on the stumps, flicked straight to mid-wicket.
Lahiru Kumara to Shane Dowrich. Four Leg byes! More runs! Perhaps the frustration on the Sri Lankan pacers is beginning to show now. Kumara bangs it short but angling down leg. Dowrich gets inside the line but fails to flick. However, the ball goes off his thigh pad and evades the keeper.
Suranga Lakmal to Jason Holder. FOUR! Not entirely convincing but Holder will take it. Full and just outside off, he reaches that one to play the drive. Opens his bat face, not sure if intentionally, and gets it through backward point for a boundary. The hosts are ticking along nicely now.
What's modesty? Jeff Dujon and Roshen Abeysinghe are on air, discussing scores of 50 or more by a Windies wicketkeeper. To that, the latter reminds the former that he had scored 4 fifties in 6 Tests against India in his playing days. To that, the former Caribbean stumper quips, 'at least someone remembers, because I don't!'
Suranga Lakmal to Shane Dowrich. Flicked away to the on side for a single.
Suranga Lakmal to Shane Dowrich. On a length outside off, Shane has a feel for it but misses.

Gets a length delivery around middle and leg, he looks to flick it. Ends up getting it off the glove towards square leg. He gets to the other end to get to the landmark.
Lahiru Kumara to Shane Dowrich. Defended towards point from the crease.
Lahiru Kumara to Shane Dowrich. FOUR! Dowrich is really seeing the ball nicely. Banged short outside off, Shane fetches the pull from there and hits it over mid-wicket. It's in the air for a while but harmless. Goes to the fence, taking him one short of a 50.
Lahiru Kumara to Shane Dowrich. Angling in on a length from wide of the crease, Shane hops across to work it to the on side. Misses and the ball goes on the bounce to the keeper.

Suranga Lakmal to Jason Holder. Risky! Holder has an unnecessary flay at this length ball outside off. Just escapes narrowly nicking that one.
Suranga Lakmal to Jason Holder. On a length outside off, pushed off the back foot towards covers.
Suranga Lakmal to Shane Dowrich. Short length ball, pulled away to deep square leg for a single. This brings up the 50-run association between Dowrich and Holder. The duo has done well to steady the Windies ship that was rocking dangerously. Also, this is the fourth-best stand between the pair in Tests.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. This one is pushed towards covers from the crease.
Lahiru Kumara to Shane Dowrich. Chance? No. Dowrich misses the flick and the ball deflects off something towards the keeper. Dickwella dives to his left but fails to pouch that one. The batters take the opportunity to cross over. Leg bye signaled by the umpire.
Lahiru Kumara to Shane Dowrich. 100 up for the Windies! Outside off, Dowrich punches it through cover-point for a brace. This stand is now 3 short of 50.
Lahiru Kumara to Shane Dowrich. Shane stands tall and defends this one.
Lahiru Kumara to Shane Dowrich. Appeal again, to no avail! Around the good length area in line of the stumps, Dowrich misses the defense and gets rapped on the pads. The umpire shakes his head as the players appeal. Now Sri Lanka ponder about the review. Dickwella seems to be asking his skipper and the bowler about it to which Lakmal signals that it was high. Indeed, confirms the Hawk Eye.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. Full and on the pads, flicked away to fine leg for one.
Suranga Lakmal to Shane Dowrich. This is well outside off, left alone.
A third slip comes in now.
Suranga Lakmal to Shane Dowrich. Dowrich stands tall and blocks it out towards covers.

Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. Length ball well outside off, Holder ensures that the stumps are covered and shoulders arms.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. Bumper again, JH ducks and lets it pass.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. Similar delivery but closer to the line of the stumps. Jason gets behind and defends off the back foot.

Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. Banged short on the stumps, Holder resists playing the pull and ducks.
A leg slip in place now. Also, a deep square leg mans the boundary on the on side.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. Hurled on a length around off, Holder defends but ends up getting it off the outer half towards gully.
Suranga Lakmal to Shane Dowrich. Length ball on the shorter side around off, Shane pulls it with a swivel, straight to mid-wicket. Well, it's a mistime actually.
Suranga Lakmal to Shane Dowrich. Calm down, lad. Sees a delivery on a length outside off, Dowrich then moves back a touch and plays a back foot punch. That he makes contact only with the air undoes all the good work. Living dangerously is the Windies keeper.
Suranga Lakmal to Shane Dowrich. Outside off this time, pushed towards mid off.
Suranga Lakmal to Shane Dowrich. Fuller on the stumps, defended towards mid on from the crease.
Suranga Lakmal to Shane Dowrich. FOUR! Conditions favorable for seamers? Tough for batting? Dowrich thrashes all those talks along with the ball to the fence. Short in length around off, Shane swivels and pulls it all along the ground through mid-wicket. Doesn't bother running post that. Moves into the 40s now.
Suranga Lakmal to Shane Dowrich. Fuller on off, blocked off the front foot.
Looking at the seamer-friendly conditions, Suranga Lakmal brings himself back on.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. Full and well outside off, Holder lets it be.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. Another good ball. Lands on a length and hits Holder above the thigh. The ball gets stuck between the thigh and his elbow then. A wry smile is the response from the bowler.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. Jaffa! Length ball outside off, jags back in a great deal after landing. Holder looks to play the initial line but gets cut into half as he gets beaten on the inside. He's fortunate to not inside edge that one.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. Hurled around off, defended off the back foot.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. An appeal to no avail. The inward movement on this one means that the ball moves in after landing and beats the defensive bat of Holder. Raps him on the front pad which makes the Lankans go up in an appeal. Height was the factor and hence, it is turned down.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. FOUR! Zip straightaway for Kumara! Lands it on a short length slanting in, it skidded off the surface. Holder manages to get a glove on it and the ball races away to the fine leg fence.
Lahiru Kumara to steam in from the other end.
Dilruwan Perera to Shane Dowrich. Gets behind the line and keeps it out to end what could be one of the longest overs in the history, courtesy the long break.
Dilruwan Perera to Shane Dowrich. Tossed up once again, blocked back to the bowler.
Dilruwan Perera to Shane Dowrich. Flighted outside off, defended off the front foot down the pitch.
Cricket! Finally. It's time for resumption after what was a very long delay. Jason Holder and Shane Dowrich were holding fort nicely before they were forced off. Has that sapped the momentum off them? We'll find out shortly. Remember, this is the night session, one where the seam bowlers are expected to get greater assistance. For now, Dilruwan Perera will complete his over. A slip and a short leg in place.
Update 2100 local (0100 GMT) - Rejoice, refresh, recharge! The rain has eased off as a result of which, the game at Kensington Oval will resume in the next 15 minutes. So, get set to witness some riveting, rain-less (hopefully) action soon.
Update 2030 local (0030 GMT) - There was an inspection scheduled at 2015 local time but it has been pushed back to 2045. The reason thereof is still unclear. We'll keep you posted.
... DAY ONE, SESSION THREE ...
In the period of play after Tea, Windies lost just the sole wicket of Shai Hope. Kasun Rajitha impressed with his pace and discipline and he was rightly rewarded with the scalp. It was yet another phase where the hosts would be left thinking over their decision at the toss. Jason Holder and Shane Dowrich are amidst a 35-run stand now. They would love to put up a big one. With the form they have displayed recently, one can't rule out that happening. That's all we have for now, hope to be back with live action.
Update 1945 local (2345 GMT) - A tweet from the Windies Cricket Board confirms that the second interval, i.e. Supper break has been taken in Barbados. With the rain still making its presence felt, the officials thought it wise to opt for the interval now. There is an inspection scheduled half an hour from now. Let's hope for some favorable news then. Here's a recap of the session...
Update 1937 local (2327 GMT) - The rain had relented for a while before appearing again, we hear. The bottomline is, we're some way off resumption. We'll keep you posted, though.
Update 1858 local (2258 GMT) - Another interruption in the play, courtesy rain. Both the sets of players are running off the ground. Groundsmen are running and tumbling to cover the square as soon as possible. The rain looks heavy, but considering the Caribbean weather, it should clear out soon enough.
Dilruwan Perera to Shane Dowrich. In the air.... and safe! A nothing shot from Dowrich really. Perera tosses this one outside off, the Windies keeper looks to slog it across. The ball goes in the air off the outer edge of the bat and lands behind the point fielder. Gunathilaka runs after it from there but has no chance of getting anywhere near it. Shane survives a scare and a couple is taken.
Dilruwan Perera to Shane Dowrich. Similar line and length from Perera. Dowrich gets on the front foot and blocks it.

Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. Tests him with another short one. This one is outside off and Jason lets it pass with some hopping.
Some hold up in the play. Windies physio is on the field. Jason Holder needs some attention after taking a blow on the previous delivery.
Lahiru Kumara to Jason Holder. An attempted bouncer but it doesn't bounce that much. Holder looks to duck under it a touch too early and gets hit on the back of his left shoulder. He looks in some pain after the blow.
Lahiru Kumara to Shane Dowrich. Back of a length into the ribs, Dowrich gets an inside to this one and runs a single from the square leg region.
Kasun Rajitha to Jason Holder. Third leave in a row. Holder is happy to play out the over.

Kasun Rajitha to Jason Holder. Holder lets the ball go outside his off stump.
Kasun Rajitha to Jason Holder. FOUR! What a shot. Holder has enjoyed that and so did my colleagues in the office. Kasun Rajitha to Jason Holder. Short and wide, punched through cover-point for a brace.

Kasun Rajitha to Jason Holder. Too wide to entice Jason with a shot.
Kasun Rajitha to Jason Holder. Another full delivery around the same area, pushes to the cover region for nothing.
Kasun Rajitha to Jason Holder. Ooh! Enticing. Almost made Holder edge this one. Full and wide outside off, making the batsman feel like its a freebie. Holder pounces on the chance but fails to make connection. This was delivered wide of the crease, thereby making the batter go for it.
Kasun Rajitha to Jason Holder. FOUR! An attempted bouncer this one. The ball didn't bounce much and it had just enough height for Holder to play the pull. It was into his body, which made it easier for him to get the timing right. In the end, a boundary results from the mid-wicket region.
Kasun Rajitha to Jason Holder. Similar line and length and it is kept out from the crease.

Jason Holder comes to the crease.
Kasun Rajitha to Shai Hope. OUT! Windies' hopes fading as Hope takes the long walk back to the pavilion. Rajitha jumps wide of the crease, angles it from there around off and keeps it on a fuller length. Shai Hope's feet are glued to the crease and just the bat goes towards the ball. The ball holds it line after pitching and takes the outside edge of the willow. Kusal Mendis at second slip dives to his left and takes a nice low catch. Sri Lanka's catching has been top notch and the results are in front of everyone to see.
Suranga Lakmal to Shane Dowrich. Defended off the front foot by Shane, presenting the full face of the bat.
Suranga Lakmal to Shane Dowrich. Hangs back in his crease and presents the full face of the bat.
Suranga Lakmal to Shane Dowrich. On a length and defended to the off side for nothing.
Suranga Lakmal to Shane Dowrich. FOUR! A gentle loosener from Lakmal and Dowrich is in sublime form to miss out on such opportunities. A back of a length delivery on the hips. Shane lines it up and flicks it to the square leg boundary to bring up the 50 for the Windies.

Often we talk about the players having a refreshing beverage or snack and coming back on. The umpires are not talked about much. Hoping they had the deserving break and refreshments, let's now focus on the other thirteen who walk out. Welcome back! The lights have taken greater effect now as Shane Dowrich will face the first delivery of this session from Kasun Rajitha. Three slips in place. Let's roll!
... DAY ONE, SESSION TWO ...
For a man leading for the first time in Tests, Suranga Lakmal showed the extra fervor with the way he bowled. His twin strikes first up were instrumental in the Lankans having their tails up. Lahiru Kumara and Kasun Rajitha also joined in the party then. It will be interesting to see if they can continue their good work in the upcoming section. Remember, there is the spin element as well that will keep us interested. So, with lots to look forward to, see ya on the other side at 1800 local (2200 GMT).
A delay of close to an hour ensued. Perhaps that gave the Windies batters some respite from the relentless bowling of Sri Lanka. Or it gave the probing pacers some time off to rejuvenate and recharge their batteries. On resumption though, the zing wasn't more. But the testing stuff continued. That resulted in the wicket of Roston Chase. Well, it was his undoing that he chose to get out the loose drive from his repertoire. It was a welcome thing for the visitors, who got a wicket after 8.2 overs. Shai Hope and Shane Dowrich have continued to hold fort since.
Sri Lanka can well pat their backs after the end of the first segment in this Test match. The pink ball always raises expectations for the seamers and the tourists did well to ensure that the breed will continue to do so for time to come. Getting the ball to talk is a figurative term in the sport, but at 8/3, it surely was talking. The top order of the hosts was blown away in a trice and it looked as if the writing was on the wall. But then the heavens opened up.
Dilruwan Perera to Shai Hope. Perera switched sides and comes around the wicket. Gives it plenty of loop as well. Hope lunges and stoutly defends it. A maiden for Dilruwan and that ENDS THE SESSION!
Dilruwan Perera to Shai Hope. Nicely tossed up around off, pushed back to the bowler.
Dilruwan Perera to Shai Hope. Slower now, around middle and leg. Shai goes back and keeps it out towards short leg.
Dilruwan Perera to Shai Hope. Quicker through the air this time, blocked with a lunge forward.
Dilruwan Perera to Shai Hope. Floated outside off, defended with a lovely stride forward.
Dilruwan Perera to Shai Hope. Begins with a flatter delivery well outside off, Hope covers his sticks and shoulders arms.
Spin time! Dilruwan Perera, back in the side, will roll his arm now. There's a short leg apart from a couple of slips.
Kasun Rajitha to Shane Dowrich. FOUR! Placed well. Not wide albeit short. It is just outside off on a length. Dowrich manufactured the required width by staying leg side. Post that, he cuts it fiercely through backward point for a boundary. Not a good way to end the over.
Kasun Rajitha to Shane Dowrich. Banged short on the stumps, Dowrich sinks down to let it pass.
Kasun Rajitha to Shane Dowrich. Outside off, defensively played towards covers.
Kasun Rajitha to Shane Dowrich. Around off, pushed off the front foot towards mid off.

Lahiru Kumara to Shai Hope. This is too wide to make Shai play.
Lahiru Kumara to Shai Hope. Hurled around off, Hope gets squared up in his defense and gets it off the outer half to gully.
Lahiru Kumara to Shai Hope. This one has been pushed towards mid on.
Lahiru Kumara to Shai Hope. Full outside off, driven to mid off.
Lahiru Kumara to Shai Hope. MISSING! Never looked close! Angling in on a length, Hope looks to defend but misses. He was on his toes as he did so. The ball went on to hit him high on the front pad. This made the Lankans scream in an appeal. Kumara wants it to be reviewed and gets the nod from the keeper. Lakmal uses the DRS now. The Hawk Eye comes up, post which, the third umpire, Aleem Dar, says, well done Kettleborough, stay with your decision. This was because the ball was going down leg. The tourists lose a review.
Review time! Sri Lanka seem confident of having trapped Hope in front of the stumps. Doesn't look plumb to the naked eye due to which the umpire turned down the appeal. Lakmal signals the 'T' and gets it reviewed. Sliding down leg perhaps...
Lahiru Kumara to Shane Dowrich. Angling in on a length, Shane works it past short leg for one.
Kasun Rajitha to Shai Hope. Down the leg side, SH misses the attempted flick.
Kasun Rajitha to Shai Hope. FOUR! Lucky, lucky Shai! Full and in line of the middle stump, Hope looks to work it away to the on side. The ball takes the leading outside edge and flies just past the reach of the fielder at gully. The end result is a boundary for the Windies batter but well away from convincing one that.
Short leg goes back to square leg.
Kasun Rajitha to Shai Hope. Very full on off, pushed defensively towards mid off.
Kasun Rajitha to Shai Hope. FOUR! Impressive or restless? I'll let the description decide. Short length ball outside off, Hope camps back. Executes the heave over mid on. The ball lands well inside the ropes and bounces away. On a two-paced uneven bouncing surface, such strokes are better put away in the closet. Hope gets away this time.
Kasun Rajitha to Shai Hope. This one jagged back in after pitching. Shai does well to clip it to mid on.
Kasun Rajitha to Shai Hope. On a length well outside off, the ball doesn't climb much. Hope, though, stays put in the crease and shoulders arms.
Lahiru Kumara to Shane Dowrich. Length ball around off, pushed towards covers for nothing.
Lahiru Kumara to Shane Dowrich. This ball is kept out off the back foot.
Lahiru Kumara to Shane Dowrich. Dowrich has a feel for it only to miss the ball by not much.
Lahiru Kumara to Shai Hope. Snorter! Back of a length delivery, angling in. Hope hops and gets it off the gloves, over short leg. Wasn't played in a convincing manner. My colleague here reminds me of him getting hurt on the ribs in the previous match. Perhaps that played on Shai's mind. Gets a run this time.
Lahiru Kumara to Shane Dowrich. This one is flicked off the pads for a single.
Lahiru Kumara to Shane Dowrich. FOUR! Excellently played. The balance that Dowrich held is just stupendous. It was an attempted yorker from Kumara, that was received as a low full toss. Shane just flicked it and beat the man at mid on. Next thing, it's a boundary.
Change of ends for Lahiru Kumara. He replaces his captain.
Kasun Rajitha to Shane Dowrich. Short in length, in line of the stumps. Dowrich stands tall and pulls it through square leg to open his account.
Kasun Rajitha to Shane Dowrich. Full and well outside off, Shane gets the stride forward and lets it be.
Kasun Rajitha to Shane Dowrich. On a length around off and middle, defended.
Kasun Rajitha to Shane Dowrich. Huge appeal! Length ball, a bit on the shorter side. Dowrich hops and looks to defend but misses the ball and wears it high on the back pad. An appeal from the touring team is turned down. It contemplated reviewing the same but doesn't. Good call in the end as Hawk Eye showed that it would have gone over the stumps.
Kasun Rajitha to Shane Dowrich. On a length in line of the stumps, blocked down the ground.
Kasun Rajitha to Shane Dowrich. Length ball angling in, Shane stays in his crease and defends it to short leg.
Suranga Lakmal to Shai Hope. Hope looks to work this one to the on side but ends up getting it off the leading edge back towards the bowler. A maiden from the Lankan skipper now.
Suranga Lakmal to Shai Hope. Full and outside off, driven straight to the man at covers.
Suranga Lakmal to Shai Hope. SH shows the full face of the bat and defends the ball off the back foot.
Suranga Lakmal to Shai Hope. Length ball around off, blocked from the crease.

Kasun Rajitha to Roston Chase. OUT! Timber! What a beauty! The sight of the stumps flying at the ground is a sight to behold for any fast bowler. Rajitha delivers it on a fuller length just outside off. Chase is unsure of the movement of the delivery. Yet he chooses to play the loose drive away from the body. That he does and pays the price as well. He looks to play it through mid off with an angled bat and as a result, the ball takes the inside edge and uproots the middle stick. This sets Kasun off in celebration. The Lankans are all over the Windies like a rash. Mind you, this isn't the evening session, yet the seamers are making the ball talk.

Angles this one into Chase's pads and the batsman looks to play to the on side but gets it from the inner half of the bat. The ball lobs in the air and drops just in front of the fielder at short leg, Udawatte. On another day, it could have gone straight to hand.

These two need to be watchful for a couple of overs and build the innings further.
Lahiru Kumara to Roston Chase. The batsman was beaten and missed the line of the delivery.
Lahiru Kumara to Roston Chase. An effort ball from Lahiru and he almost had another. The ball pitches just outside off on a back of a length and rises after pitching. Chase looks to defend it off his toes. But due to the bounce, it brushes his gloves, hits his right shoulder and lobs to the off side. Fortunately for him, it drops well short of point. No harm done in the end.
Lahiru Kumara to Roston Chase. Bumper to welcome Chase to the middle, who lets it pass for the keeper.
Roston Chase makes his way out at no. 5.
Lahiru Kumara to Kieran Powell. OUT! Sri Lankan bowlers are on fire. Another beauty from Kumara from over the wicket. Serves a fuller delivery around off, angling away and makes him play at it. Powell pushes at it from his crease and gets a thick outside edge. The ball dips just in front of Kusal Mendis, who takes a good low catch to his right at second slip and sends Powell home. The umpires are once again taking some help from the third umpire. The replays suggest that the catch is taken cleanly, just inches off the ground. No respite for the Windies.
Kusal Mendis seems to have pulled off a sharp catch in the slip cordon. The celebrations from the Lankans is a confident one. But the unsure umpires get together and take it upstairs. Reckon that's the end of Powell, let's await the final call.

Suranga Lakmal to Kraigg Brathwaite. OUT! Peach, an absolute peach! Extra bounce in that channel around off stump and another wicket. It's all happening in Barbados. Lakmal pitches it on a back of a length and gets it to rise near the grille. Brathwaite tries to get his bat to fend but the ball goes off the shoulder of the bat. The fielder at cover-point comes charging in, dives to his front and takes an exceptional catch. The umpires are not sure if it is taken cleanly and hence opt to go upstairs, giving the soft signal as OUT. Replays roll in and show that Gunathilaka has done exceptionally well to pull off that catch inches over the ground. Sri Lankans rejoice. The score is still in single digits while Windies have lost two already.
Another wicket for the Sri Lankans? It looks like a great catch from the point fielder but the umpires have gone upstairs to check if it has been cleanly taken or not.

Suranga Lakmal to Devon Smith. OUT! BOOM! Impact straightaway. The new skipper is into the action and leading from the front. What a peach to bowl in the very first over. Around the wicket, on a length, pushed in with some venom. The ball pitches outside off and straightens from there. Devon tentatively puts his bat from the crease, trying to get in line but only manages an outside edge and Dhananjaya de Silva at third slip takes an easy catch to his right. First blood for Lakmal and a great start for the visitors.

Sri Lanka's new Test captain, Suranga Lakmal, says that he's happy to lead the side. Ends stating a couple of changes - Danushka Gunathilaka in for Dinesh Chandimal and Dilruwan Perera in for Akila Dananjaya.
Windies skipper Jason Holder says that although there's a lot of grass on the pitch, they would want to put up a good score on the board. He adds that there are no changes in the team. He feels great to be a part of history, captaining the team in the first day-night Test match at home. Mentions that they need to be consistent, get starts and convert them into big totals. Adds further that bowlers need to be tighter and the fielders need to catch everything.
Toss - Jason Holder calls it correctly and WINDIES WILL BAT.
Pitch Report - Jeff Dujon observes the pitch and says that there's a lot of grass, especially on the good length area. Reckons that it will be a bit two-paced. Ends being unsure of the behavior of the ball as it is the first day-night Test in this part of the world and hence says that the captain winning the toss should bat first.
A ball-tampering scandal meant that regular Test skipper, Dinesh Chandimal, will miss this match while Rangana Herath is also unlikely to play due to an injury. The Lankans will be led by Suranga Lakmal and meanwhile, Jeffrey Vandersay has been sent home owing to a breach in his contract. The home team would like nothing less than a trophy in their cabinet and hence, a win or a draw would suffice. We are sure to have a well-fought game on our hands. Stay tuned for the live action in a while.
Ladies and Gentlemen, hello and a warm welcome to the third and final Test match between the West Indies and Sri Lanka at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados. This is a historical afternoon for the people of Caribbean as Barbados hosts the first ever day-night Test match. After the last two Tests, Windies go into this one with an advantage, looking to finish the series on a high. If the first Test was a dull affair, the second Test had a lot of drama and nervous excitement. Now, we move into the final encounter of the 3-match series, where Sri Lanka will be looking to continue their form from the last match and turn it into a win.
Looking back at the batting effort from the visitors, one could say it was tame, to say the least. They had a bad start as they lost two wickets for just 16 runs. Then, Gunathilaka and Mendis came together to stitch a 59-run partnership. After that, Gabriel came into his usual self and took three quick wickets in the third session of Day 2. His effort meant that the visitors were gasping at 99/5 at the end of the day. As much as Windies should be commended for the use of DRS and their lines and lengths, I feel Sri Lankan batsmen were equally guilty of throwing away their wickets. The conceded advantage could come back to haunt them in the second innings. The Windies innings starts in a short while. Stay tuned!
That is it. The Sri Lankan have succumbed to the brilliant Windies bowling. Other than Dickwella, no other batsmen could hang around long enough. Holder was the pick of the bowlers as he took a 4-fer, including the crucial wicket of Dickwella. Gabriel supported him well and together, they bowled the visitors out for just 154. The first one and a half hour of Day 3 belongs to the hosts. They have a telling lead of 50 runs in their back pocket, which should be enough to build on.
Miguel Cummins to Dilruwan Perera. OUT! The final one bites the dust! Short ball on off, Perera ducks under it and sets off for a run. However, he doesn't get a positive response from the non-striker and tries to get back in. Seeing that, the keeper scores a direct hit as Perera drags his bat just in time. The ball ricochets and drops behind the stumps only. The pair wants to steal a bye as they set off again. Holder runs in from second slip, collects the ball and does the smart thing by uprooting the stumps from the ground. Kumara is well short and SRI LANKA ARE BOWLED OUT FOR 154!
Miguel Cummins to Dilruwan Perera. Short of a length outside off, Perera runs it down past backward point and comes back for a brace.

Dowrich leaps but fails to collect it cleanly. The batsmen take a run but Ian Gould denies it. The batsman didn't offer a stroke, that is the reason.
The physio attends to Perera. Shoulder is a delicate spot. Out comes the magic spray.
Miguel Cummins to Dilruwan Perera. Full length ball outside off, eased through covers for a brace.
Lahiru Kumara is the last man in.
Jason Holder to Kasun Rajitha. OUT! Bowled 'em! Holder gets a 4-fer. Leave the tailender, that would have been unplayable even for a top-order batsman. Holder bowls a full length delivery on middle but the ball swings away late to catch Rajitha off guard. He tries to block it but misses to get the furniture behind him disturbed. The umpire once again refers it upstairs to check for the front foot no ball. This time it is fine. Delight for the Windies captain!

Jason Holder to Dilruwan Perera. No ball! What have you done Holder? This is the second occasion in this innings that the hosts have taken a wicket but the bowler has overstepped. Holder bowls a fullish ball on off, Perera tries to slog it down the ground but misses the line. The off stump is shattered but Richard Kettleborough refers the decision upstairs straightaway. Holder looks back and is a bit frustrated as the umpires will check for the front foot no ball. Oh no! The replays show that there is nothing behind the popping crease. The skipper can't believe it.

Jason Holder to Suranga Lakmal. OUT! Lakmal departs for a duck! 3rd wicket for Holder, he has been on the money throughout and has got the results as well. Nothing great about the delivery though. It is on a fullish length down the leg side, Lakmal is early into his flick shot and hence, ends up getting a leading edge towards covers. Keemo Paul, the substitute doesn't make a mistake.

Wise call from Lakmal to call for the elbow guard. The two-paced nature of the pitch is making life difficult for the batsmen and as a tailender, he should take necessary precaution.
Miguel Cummins to Dilruwan Perera. The batsman has been struck on the pads as he looked to play that off the front foot.
Miguel Cummins to Dilruwan Perera. That was brilliantly bowled! Almost got the better of Perera. Cummins bowls a very good yorker just outside off. Perera fails to dig it out. That was just inches away from the off pole.

Jason Holder to Suranga Lakmal. Full ball in line of the stumps, driven to mid off.
The Sri Lankan captain, Suranga Lakmal comes out to bat.
Jason Holder to Niroshan Dickwella. OUT! Holder strikes at a crucial time! The dangerous Dickwella departs. He wasn't looking that assured outside the off stump and that channel leads to his downfall. On a fuller length, it straightens just a wee bit after pitching. Dickwella brings his front foot forward tentatively and that moment of uncertainty is enough to induce the outside edge. Devon Smith who is standing at second slip takes it with ease. The Windies are still ahead by 57 runs. End of a chancy but handy innings from the wicket-keeper batsman.

Miguel Cummins to Niroshan Dickwella. No ball! Nothing is going Cummins' way in this game. It is a good ball but the only thing is that he has overstepped. This one takes off from a similar length to go past the flashing blade of Niroshan.
Miguel Cummins to Niroshan Dickwella. This one stays a bit low! On a good length outside off, Dickwella pushes at it tamely but gets beaten due to the lack of bounce.

Dilruwan Perera is the new man in.
Shannon Gabriel to Roshen Silva. OUT! So much effort for nothing. Not a great way to get out after being patient for so long. Gabriel serves it wide and full, bluffing Silva into believing that it's a half-volley. He goes after it from his crease, gets a thick outside edge and hands a dolly to Dowrich behind the wickets. This is not good for Sri Lanka as they still trail by 86. Just when a partnership was building up, Roshen threw it away.

Kemar Roach to Niroshan Dickwella. This one takes off from a good length and catches Niroshan by surprise. He fends it off towards mid-wicket.
Kemar Roach to Niroshan Dickwella. Dickwella tries to do something different. We all know the kind of player he is, looking for scoring opportunities but sometimes it can backfire on him. He shuffles across and walks down the track to tackle the length ball but the extra bounce catches his gloves and falls down.
Shannon Gabriel to Roshen Silva. Delivers this from a similar position of the crease. This is on a length on the fifth stump channel. Silva covers his off stump and makes an assured leave.
Shannon Gabriel to Roshen Silva. Gabriel goes wider of the crease and angles in a full length ball. Roshen with a high elbow puts his head down and defends it calmly down the track.
Shannon Gabriel to Roshen Silva. Another bouncer but it is well outside off, pretty harmless. Roshen has no issue in letting it go.
Shannon Gabriel to Roshen Silva. Short delivery, taking off nicely. Silva sits under it.
Shannon Gabriel to Niroshan Dickwella. Close shave! Dickwella is looking nervy. Gabriel spears in a full delivery outside off, inviting the wicket keeper for the drive. He falls for the bait and gets a thick inside edge that just goes past the leg stump towards short fine leg. A run taken.

Kemar Roach to Roshen Silva. That's a peach! This one pitches on a length on off and straightens just enough to go past the hanging bat of Silva. Good start from Roach.

Kemar Roach to Roshen Silva. On a fuller length and not close enough yet to make the batsman play.

Shannon Gabriel to Niroshan Dickwella. Sprays it down the leg side, this time Niroshan misses the flick.
Shannon Gabriel to Niroshan Dickwella. Is that a drop? Seems so. Shortish ball directed at the rib-cage area of the batsman. Dickwella hops and attempts to keep it out but seems to have gloved it behind. Dowrich moves to his right and dives full length to take it but fails to hold on. Gabriel looks disappointed. Well, the replays show that it did come off the glove of the left hand. His bottom hand did not come off the handle as well. Dickwella will be thanking his stars.
Shannon Gabriel to Niroshan Dickwella. Fullish delivery, defended solidly off the front foot.
Shannon Gabriel to Niroshan Dickwella. Bowls this one on a full length outside off, trying to bring the fly slip in play. Dickwella is circumspect in approach and defends it with authority.

We are ready to roll. Niroshan Dickwella will take the strike while Shannon Gabriel will begin the attack for the Windies. There is a fly slip in place in addition to three regular slips. Let's get started!
Jeff Dujon has a look at the pitch and says that it still has a tinge of green on it. Adds that there are patches of grass. Further adds that this has been the reason for the inconsistent bounce on this track. He concludes by saying that has made life difficult for the batters.
Roshan Abeysinghe has a small chat with Danushka Gunathilaka. The two talk about how it was a big challenge to come as a replacement and go into the day-night Test match straightaway. Gunathilaka says that he saw the last two Test matches and realized it was a challenge to face the fast bowlers. Adds that he practiced well and the management helped him to get ready in time. Further adds that pink ball moves more under lights and is hence harder to play than the red one. Also thanks his coach, Chandika Hathurusingha, who told him to focus on red ball cricket. Concludes by saying that they can put Windies under pressure if they bat well.
They will be hoping to continue the quest and finish off the lower order as quickly as possible. On the other hand, Lankans are pinning all their hopes on Roshen Silva and Niroshan Dickwella. And do not forget the interesting pitch we have in this game, which has made it even more 'Test'ing. 'pardon my pun'. It's going to be an exciting contest between bat and ball if the rain gods approve. Live action starts soon, hang around!
Hello and a very good afternoon on the third day of the third Test match between West Indies vs Sri Lanka at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown. It's sunny and bright in Barbados and we welcome you to Test cricket. We have a game on its cusp here. The visiting team is battling it out in the middle for their survival. They are five down with just 99 runs on the scoreboard. Gabriel and company have reduced them quickly and took the upper hand in the last session yesterday.
... Day 3, Session 1 ...
When the visitors came out to bat, they were jolted in just the third over when Kemar Roach took the wicket of Kusal Perera. Afterwards, Mahela Udawatte followed suit. Gunathilaka and Mendis stitched a decent partnership of 59 and somewhat salvaged the situation. They went into Dinner in a good position but things changed drastically after the break. Windies bowlers made sure that by the end of the evening, they were on top. They would like to get through the remaining batsmen as early as possible on Day 3. The visitors will be hoping that their last recognized batting pair continues the fight as the trail currently stands at 105. To compensate for lost time, game will start early again. See you on Monday at 1430 Local (1830 GMT). Till then, ciao!
Just like the delayed start to the day, the weather in Barbados played tricks throughout the evening. Windies skipper Jason Holder, along with Shane Dowrich started with intent in the initial phase. Both of them played out the first attack from the Lankan bowlers, scored runs at a quick pace and made sure that there were no hiccups in the first hour. But the resilience didn't last long as Lahiru Kumara trapped Dowrich in front of the sticks and Kasun Rajitha had the better of Holder. In the due process, Kumara took his third 4-fer in the series while Rajitha took two crucial wickets as well.
As expected, the rain has played spoilsport. Windies will feel sad being robbed of an opportunity to make further inroads. They came out all guns blazing post Dinner and took winds out of the Lankan sails'. Three wickets for 10 runs meant that the visitors were left gasping at 99/5 when rain halted play.
Update 2150 Local (0150 GMT) - The conditions haven't improved since the last stoppage and the umpires have decided to call it STUMPS ON DAY 2.
Update 2105 Local (0105 GMT) - As Roshan Abeysinghe on air informs us that the umpires signal for the drinks break, the rain has returned. This time it is not a sprinkle but it is a steady drizzle. The groundsmen rush in with the covers. A strong wind is blowing as well. As I type, the shower has gotten heavier. This is not a good sight. We all want the weather to clear up as an exciting contest has been on display. Stay with us for more updates...

Not good news for the Windies. The physio comes in and attends Gabriel. He is now going off the field. Shoulder injuries can't be taken lightly. Can be critical in the context of the game. The hosts will want him to come back soon.
Shannon Gabriel to Niroshan Dickwella. FOUR! Streaky runs! Dickwella is flirting with danger. Length ball outside off, the batsman's feet go nowhere as he tries to force it through the line. Chase comes in and dives in front but the ball falls down safely.
There is again some drizzle in the air. Let's hope it goes away like it has done on previous occasions.

Shannon Gabriel to Dhananjaya de Silva. OUT! The height is fine and de Silva has to walk back! The hosts lost an opportunity earlier when Roshen Silva had edged one behind but this time it is an excellent use of the review. This one is on a good length around off and seams in nicely. De Silva tries to defend it down the track but gets beaten and wears it on his back pad. Up goes Gabriel in excitement along with his teammates but Ian Gould is unmoved. Holder is smiling as the bowler eggs him to challenge the decision. He does take the DRS this time. The replays roll in. Well, the Ultra Edge doesn't spot anything. Time for Hawk Eye. The ball is crashing into the stumps. Sri Lanka have lost their last 3 wickets only for 10 runs. Suddenly, they find themselves in a precarious situation.
Another close one! This time Holder agrees with Gabriel and signals for the 'T'. Dhananjaya de Silva is the man in question as he has been trapped in front of the stumps. The height is the only factor which can save the batsman.
Jason Holder to Roshen Silva. Overpitched outside off, Silva caresses it through covers and comes back for a couple.
Jason Holder to Roshen Silva. Length delivery, shaping in, answered with a straight bat.
Jason Holder to Roshen Silva. In that tight off stump corridor, Silva hops and defends it tentatively.
On and off, on and off, the groundsmen are being played like puppets. You say who's making them play? The rain obviously. There was some drizzle which prompted the umpires to call for the covers but as the square was about to be fully covered, the rain stopped. Windies players stayed in the middle. They didn't want to leave the field as they were in control. However, the two Sri Lankan batsmen rushed off to the dressing room. The play should start within few minutes as the umpires have asked the covers to be taken off.
Jason Holder to Roshen Silva. Hangs back to the short of a length ball and blocks it nicely.
The Windies missed a trick in the previous over. The Ultra Edge for 28.4 revealed an under edge. Silva is a lucky man. Gabriel has a wry smile after watching the replays. He tells his captain that he was right.

Shannon Gabriel to Roshen Silva. That will sting! Tailing in on a fuller length, Silva tries to block it but is hit near the knee. He seems to be in some sort of discomfort.
Shannon Gabriel to Roshen Silva. Whoosh! Banged in short, the ball seams in late as well. Silva arches his back, drops his wrists and makes a good leave.
Shannon Gabriel to Roshen Silva. Is that a nick? Probably not. Gabriel has found some good rhythm. He bowls a fullish delivery and there is some nibble in the air. Silva goes for a booming drive but seems that he has missed it. Dowrich collects it and goes up in an appeal. Gabriel asks his skipper to review it to which the latter indicates that the bat hit the ground. The bowler is not convinced though but it is the captain who always has the last say. There was certainly some sound as the ball past the bat. Looked close!
Shannon Gabriel to Roshen Silva. The batsman shows the full face of the bat and defends the ball off the back foot.
Shannon Gabriel to Dhananjaya de Silva. Swinging in substantially again, Silva pushes it past the bowler and takes a run.
Shannon Gabriel to Dhananjaya de Silva. Fullish delivery, shaping in, Roshen drives it towards mid on.
Jason Holder to Roshen Silva. Another play and a miss from Silva. Brilliant over from Holder.
Holder has been called back as he didn't complete the over. Actually, he only bowled 5 balls and the umpire gave him the cap. He has been rightly called back.
Jason Holder to Roshen Silva. Full and outside off, swinging away. Silva pushes at it but misses.
Jason Holder to Roshen Silva. Holder is bowling well! He gets this to come back in from outside off. Roshen feels for it and misses.
Jason Holder to Roshen Silva. Outside off, the batsman lets it go.
Roshen Silva comes out to bat.
Jason Holder to Danushka Gunathilaka. OUT! Bang on skipper! You have made a judicious use of the review. The game has suddenly come alive for the Windies. Holder from around the wicket angles in a length delivery from outside off. It comes in sharply and Gunathilaka is caught in a tangle. He comes forward gingerly to counter it but misses to get pinged on the front pad. The Windies appeal vociferously but Richard Kettleborough thinks otherwise. He shakes his head. The body language of Holder is confident and he opts for the review after a discussion with his teammates. Time for the replays. The Snicko doesn't show any spike. The Hawk Eye comes into play now and it shows three reds. Danushka is a dead duck. Both the set Sri Lankan batsmen are back in the hut. This is a fruitful passage of play for the Windies. They will look to make hay while the sun shines.
The Windies are so confident that they have gone upstairs. It is regarding an LBW decision against Danushka Gunathilaka. Seems close in real time as well.
Jason Holder to Dhananjaya de Silva. Shortish ball on middle and leg, pulled away through square leg for a run.

Dhananjaya de Silva is the new man in.
Shannon Gabriel to Kusal Mendis. OUT! Bowled 'em! A really, really poor shot from the youngster. He will be kicking himself. Perhaps, the break led to a lapse in concentration for him. Can't give any excuses for it though. Gabriel steams in and bowls a length delivery around off at 141 clicks. It seams in after pitching as Mendis attempts an outrageous loft over mid on. However, the only thing he manages to do is chop it back onto his stumps. The off pole behind him goes for a toss. The best sight for any fast bowler and as expected, Gabriel is cock-a-hoop. Wait on! The umpire refers it upstairs to check whether Gabriel has overstepped or not. To his delight, he hasn't. An important dismissal for the hosts and they will be aiming to build on this. The 59-run stand has been cut short.
Change of gloves for Danushka Gunathilaka. Meanwhile, Shannon Gabriel returns for a bowl.
Jason Holder to Danushka Gunathilaka. This one stays a touch low but Gunathilaka does well to defend it off the crease.

The players and the umpires have made their way to the middle. Danushka Gunathilaka and Kusal Mendis to resume their innings. Jason Holder to bowl first up after Tea. Here we go...
... Day 2, Session 3 ...
Well, in the final passage of play before the break, Cummins struck but he did a criminal offense of overstepping as Gunathilaka was the beneficiary. Such minor mistakes can cause a huge dent and the home side needs to be careful. Sri Lanka will look to play freely while the hosts will need to breakthrough. Should be an absorbing final session.
It was a rearguard effort from Danushka Gunathilaka and Kusal Mendis. They were constantly troubled due to the unpredictable nature of the track as edges occurred and the ball flew past them but they were firm in their approach. They didn't miss out on the loose deliveries and kept the scoreboard ticking, taking their alliance to 59.
Session highlights - 23 overs, 75 runs, 2 wickets. Sri Lanka will be the happier of the two sides as they have been able to accumulate runs at a good pace. That is what matters for them in the context of the game. However, it hasn't been happy sailing for them by any means. They were rocked early as an on-song Kemar Roach send both the openers packing.
Devendra Bishoo to Kusal Mendis. Goes back and plays the shortish delivery to the off side. IT'S DINNER ON DAY 2.

Kemar Roach to Kusal Mendis. Back of a length on the hips, flicked to the on side for a single.
There is a video footage being shown from the previous day. During the practice session in the nets, it is being seen that the likes of Shannon Gabriel and Kemar Roach are overstepping. It is the job of the bowling coach to ensure that the bowlers do not bowl no balls. If that keeps on happening, it is bound to happen during the game again as it gets mentally imprinted. It already cost the hosts thrice in the previous game and once again, it has denied them a wicket.
Kemar Roach to Kusal Mendis. On a length outside off, Mendis tries to go after it initially but pulls out just at the end. The ball hits the bottom edge of the bat and goes behind.
Miguel Cummins to Danushka Gunathilaka. Full around off, driven to mid on for nothing.
Miguel Cummins to Danushka Gunathilaka. No Ball! Oh my word! What have you done, Miguel Cummins? He did everything right. Bowled a length delivery, extracted the extra bounce and induced the false shot from the batsman but failed to keep the most basic thing in check. In order to put something extra into the delivery, he was not able to keep his foot behind the line. Gunathilaka was already walking, as he should be but the umpire stopped him. No ball is checked and well, let's just say Gunathilaka wasn't meant to go out just yet. Coming back to the delivery, it was on a length around off, the batsman went for the uppish drive but the extra bounce meant that the ball hit the splice of the bat and lobbed in the air. The fielder at extra cover took an easy catch but it was all for nothing. The ghosts from the last Test could still come to haunt the Windies.
Miguel Cummins to Danushka Gunathilaka. Down the leg, Mendis missed the flick.

Kemar Roach to Kusal Mendis. Angling in substantially, Mendis works it through mid-wicket and takes a couple.
Kemar Roach to Kusal Mendis. Dug in short, Kusal ducks under it.
Kemar Roach to Kusal Mendis. FOUR! Streetsmart cricket from Kusal Mendis! Used the pace of the bowler to perfection. On a length outside off, angling in. Mendis crouches a bit to get into an ideal position and dabs it past the gully fielder. The fielder chases it but only comes second best. That also brings up the 50-run stand between the duo. They have struggled on occasions but have done well to battle through the period.
Kemar Roach to Kusal Mendis. Similar length ball around off, Kusal makes use of the depth of the crease and answers it with a straight bat.
Kemar Roach to Kusal Mendis. Well, this one stays pretty low. Pitches on a good length outside off and hardly bounces. Mendis is waiting on the back foot to deal with it but is beaten by the lack of bounce.

Roach is back on.

Miguel Cummins to Kusal Mendis. FOUR! What? Someone is playing that 'statue' game with the Windies slip cordon it seems. Back of a length outside off, Mendis pokes at it and gets an edge. The ball flies towards the slip cordon. The first and second slip fielders are in the firing line but no one goes for the catch. The ball flies over them in a jiffy and races to the fence. Cummins is furious and why shouldn't he be. Third boundary of the over.
Miguel Cummins to Kusal Mendis. Four Byes! Eh! Down the leg and too much to ask from the keeper to stop those. As a result, four byes.
And we are back, pretty quickly.
Well, well, well, rain gods chose to stay away for a while but they are going to have their say as well. The good thing is that it's just a passing shower and play will resume in just a few minutes.
Miguel Cummins to Kusal Mendis. FOUR! Man oh man! He looks good on deliveries on his pads that one could tell he is from the subcontinent. Cummins strays in line and serves this on the pads. Mendis stays in his crease and clips it to the square leg boundary. 50 up for Sri Lanka as well.

Jason Holder to Danushka Gunathilaka. Too straight on the pads, Gunathilaka looks to flick it fine but misses as the ball clips his pads on the way to the keeper. The keeper along with the bowler appeals for the caught behind but Ian Gould just nods in disagreement. It wouldn't have counted as the ball bounced just in front of the keeper. Not sure what he was appealing for.
The fourth umpire is in the middle with the new balls. Gunathilaka has tonked that outta here.
Jason Holder to Danushka Gunathilaka. SIX! WOW! That was not just my reaction but the reaction of Jason Holder as well. Where did that come from? This has been hit out of the park. NEW BALL PLEASE! A gentle back of a length delivery on middle and off, Gunathilaka swivels and pulls the trigger. He has hit it so cleanly over the square leg region that even the umpire lost sight of it. The ball lands somewhere outside the stadium and it is merry go round for the kids playing in the parking lot, perhaps.
Jason Holder to Danushka Gunathilaka. The batsman defends it from within the crease.
Jason Holder to Danushka Gunathilaka. Quicker delivery this. Pitches on middle and off and skids of the pitch. Gunathilaka blocks it with authority.

Miguel Cummins to Danushka Gunathilaka. OH! Nervy. On a good length around the off stump and going away from the left-hander with the angle. Gunathilaka gets his hands up looking to leave the ball on length but gets hit high on his pads. Some appeal once again but it was never going to be enough.
Miguel Cummins to Danushka Gunathilaka. Wide of the crease, angling across the left-hander and then bringing it into him after pitching. Gunathilaka looks to defend it but misses as the ball raps him on his pads. Cummins jumps in appeal but the umpire is unmoved.
Jason Holder to Kusal Mendis. Defended off the front foot by Kusal, presenting the full face of the bat.
Jason Holder to Kusal Mendis. Corrects the line this time and the right-hander is up to it and keeps it out.

Jason Holder to Danushka Gunathilaka. Back of a length ball outside off, Gunathilaka plays it with an angled blade towards point.
Drinks have been called for. A chance for the Windies bowlers to gather around and work on their plans. They have been wayward in the last few overs and have allowed the Sri Lankan batsmen to get into the game. Gunathilaka and Mendis have been a bit edgy but they have managed to stay in the middle. Jason Holder will be the first change in the bowling after the break.

Kemar Roach to Danushka Gunathilaka. FOUR! Streaky. Full around off, Danushka pushes at it with with soft hands, with and angled bat and pierces the gap between the gully and slip cordon. Some quick runs for the visiting batters in the last 5-7 deliveries. Add another boundary to that.
Shannon Gabriel to Kusal Mendis. FOUR! Played with authority! Full length ball on middle and leg, Mendis stays well-balanced and flicks it nonchalantly to the right of the fielder at short square leg to find the ropes. An expensive over, 15 from it.

Shannon Gabriel to Danushka Gunathilaka. What happened there? Tempers flying all around. Good length ball on middle and leg, tucked through square leg as Danushka sets off for a run. However, Gabriel stares at him and touches him with his hand. After that, Gunathilaka retaliates and both of them brush each other's shoulder. A conversation follows as both are unhappy. Rightly so, as the replay shows it pitched outside leg.
Well, I can't say it's unexpected but the rain is just around the corner. Dark clouds are hovering around the stadium and almost arm twisted the umpires into asking for the covers.
Shannon Gabriel to Danushka Gunathilaka. On a length, defended off the back foot.

Kemar Roach to Kusal Mendis. Outside off, Mendis doesn't fiddle with it.
Kusal Mendis strides out to bat.
Kemar Roach to Mahela Udawatte. OUT! Beautifully set up by Roach and he has reaped the reward! These kind of mind games can work out well provided the execution is on the money. This time it is certainly that way. He bowls this one on a length in the avenue of apprehension and this time, unlike on previous two occasions, the ball shapes in a touch. Udawatte with minimal footwork tries to block it but he misses to get pinged on the back pad. A confident appeal ensues and the umpire obliges. Mahela walks across to his partner gingerly. Deliberates about taking the DRS initially but continues to walk away from him. Gunathilaka perhaps sends him mixed signals and he signals for the review as an afterthought. However, the umpire tells him that he can't challenge the decision as he has exceeded the time limit. The Hawk Eye shows three reds. So, it is good for Sri Lanka as they don't lose a review but the bad thing is that they are in a lot of trouble.
Kemar Roach to Mahela Udawatte. Oh no! The youngster is not learning from his mistakes. The ball moves away again as Udawatte attempts to drive it through the line but gets beaten again.
Kemar Roach to Mahela Udawatte. Don't go fishing after those Udawatte! Roach is bowling nicely from around the wicket. The trap has been set for him and he almost falls for the bait. This one is coming with the natural angle but swings away late. There is a bit of room on offer as well which lures the batsman. He goes chasing after it but is left absolutely clueless as the ball goes past his blade.
Danushka Gunathilaka is in quite some pain and the physio comes to the middle to check upon him.
Shannon Gabriel to Danushka Gunathilaka. Ouch! Mind you, those blows are telling. This one pitches on a length on off and takes off like it has done on numerous occasions as well. Gunathilaka comes forward trusting the pace and bounce of this surface and pays the price. Tries to drive it down the ground but misses to get hit on the box region. He has a look of anguish on his face and takes some time to gather himself.

Shannon Gabriel to Danushka Gunathilaka. An appeal for an LBW falls on deaf ears! Gabriel goes wider of the crease and angles in a full length ball sharply. Danushka falls over a bit and gets struck on the pads as he misses his flick shot. The ball rolls towards fine leg as the Windies shout in unison. The umpire shakes his head. That was probably going down leg. A leg bye results!

Shannon Gabriel to Danushka Gunathilaka. Almost, almost! Gabriel angles this one across the batsman on a good length. Gunathilaka tries to drive it down the ground, perhaps the confidence that he gathered from the boundary making him to do so. This time his head position is not correct and the ball whizzes past his outside edge.
Shannon Gabriel to Danushka Gunathilaka. The ball is down the leg side but the batsman still goes after it.
Shannon Gabriel to Danushka Gunathilaka. FOUR! Sublime! High elbow, steady head, precise footwork - that stroke had everything. Kemar Roach to Kusal Perera. OUT! Roach draws first blood! He troubled Perera in his previous over and proves to be his downfall this time around. He bowls a length ball in the corridor of uncertainty and gets it to move away a touch. The ball also doesn't bounce as much as Kusal expects. He attempts a tame push through the line but only manages to get a thin inside edge. Dowrich moves to his left to complete a regulation catch. The openers troubles outside the off stump has been exploited once again. Just the start the Windies were striving for.
Kemar Roach to Kusal Perera. This one comes in with the natural angle and goes past Perera's attempted flick shot to catch him on the pads.
Kemar Roach to Kusal Perera. Roach steams in from around the wicket and bowls a fuller length ball around off. The ball swings away late as Perera watches it through carefully. After that, Ian Gould quietly examines the danger area.
We are back for the second session. Mahela Udawatte and Kusal Perera to continue their innings. Kemar Roach to continue his spell after Tea.
... Day 2, Session 2 ...
They played their shots and kept the Lankan bowlers at bay for a while. However, once Dowrich misjudged the length of Kumara's delivery, the pages started to unfold. Holder posted his 7th half century in Test cricket but he too couldn't hang around for long. Sri Lanka's skipper, Suranga Lakmal, chose not to bowl after his initial burst this afternoon for some reason and kept the youngsters, Lahiru Kumara and Kasun Rajitha at it. The rewards came in thick and fast as the last 5 wickets were removed with just more 72 runs added to the overnight total. Post-Tea session can make or break the match for either of the two teams. Have a snack or a cuppa tea, we'll see you on the other side of the break.
Sri Lanka have managed to scrape through these nervy 10 minutes. The ball is doing a lot off the pitch and in the air, and the Windies bowlers will make the visiting batsmen dance around. Let me take you through this session in a jiffy. The afternoon showers meant that we had a delayed start but the sun came out soon enough. The play started with the Windies duo from the last night carrying forward the momentum.
Shannon Gabriel to Mahela Udawatte. Good length ball around middle and off, Udawatte hangs back in his crease looking to block it but misses. The ball hits his pad and goes in the hands of the fielder at short leg. No appeal from the Windies camp and hence, the umpire removes the bails to signal for the TEA BREAK!
Shannon Gabriel to Mahela Udawatte. Mahela fails to get bat on that one and is hit on the pad.
Shannon Gabriel to Mahela Udawatte. Safe! Yes, the height is the factor which helps Udawatte. The hosts lose a review. Gabriel pushes this one in from 'round the wicket and into the stumps. The ball pitches on off and skids off from the pitch. Mahela looks to get behind the line but the ball hits his front pad. Shannon is confident and so is Jason Holder, who goes for the review immediately. The replays roll in. The Hawk Eye reveals that the ball is going over the stumps by some margin, plus the angle would have taken it down the leg side. Testing stuff from Shannon.
An LBW appeal turned down. Jason Holder goes for the review against Mahela Udawatte. Height looks to be the issue. Let's wait for the Hawk Eye.
Shannon Gabriel to Mahela Udawatte. Full around middle and leg, Mahela comes forward and keeps it out.
Shannon Gabriel to Mahela Udawatte. The ball is way wide on the leg side but Udawatte still goes after it and misses.
Shannon Gabriel to Mahela Udawatte. In the air... and just drops short! Gabriel is right on the money from the word go. A fuller delivery around off. Mahela pushes at it half-heartedly and edges it. But fortunately for him, the ball drops just short of Devon Smith at first slip. The opener survives a scare.
Shannon Gabriel to share the new ball.
Kemar Roach to Kusal Perera. Outside off, left alone by taking his bat away from the line.
Kemar Roach to Kusal Perera. Comes in with the angle from a good length and hits Perera on his pads. Nervy start for the left-hander.
Kemar Roach to Kusal Perera. Perera chooses to leave the ball outside his off stump.
Kemar Roach to Kusal Perera. OOH! I am not sure if this should be counted as a good leave or not. Just short on off and Kusal gets his hands up to let it pass. The ball goes over the stumps and into the keeper's hands.
Kemar Roach to Kusal Perera. On a good length in the line of the stumps, Perera looks to defend it but misses as the ball hits his pads.
Kemar Roach to Kusal Perera. What a start from Roach. Beautiful. Starts from around the wicket and angles it in. The ball pitches and straightens after pitching. Kusal lets it be and it goes agonizingly close to the stumps. Good leave in the end.
So, the mini passage of play has come to an end. A run out meant that Kemar and Gabriel couldn't stay out in the middle for too long. It's almost identical to most of their batsmen. Sri Lankan bowlers were on fire and made inroads consistently. Suranga Lakmal and Kasun Rajitha were the pick of the bowlers as they took three wickets apiece. Only four batters were allowed to get to double digits in their innings, which should tell you the sad story. This is the third lowest score in a day-night Test match. The pitch is looking quiet dangerous to bat now and the lead that the visitors conceded in the first innings could eventually come back to haunt them. Let's wait and watch how things go from hereon. Should be an exciting contest. Hang around!
Lahiru Kumara to Kemar Roach. OUT! Yes, he is gone. The last pair couldn't survive for too long. A back of a length delivery on the hips, Roach flicks it through the square leg region and sets off for a run. However, he thinks there's an opportunity for another one and calls Gabriel for the same, who starts running straightaway. But Roach stops in his stride and Gabriel has to go back. Kasun Rajitha throws the ball from the deep and the rest is done by Dickwella as the No. 11 tries to make his crease with a dive. The umpire refers it upstairs. The replays show that Shannon is well short. WEST INDIES HAVE BEEN BOWLED OUT FOR 93! The target for Sri Lanka to win this Test match is 144 and they have ample time to chase that.
A tight run out appeal has been taken to the third umpire. Shannon Gabriel is the man in limelight.

The players are out in the middle. Kemar Roach and Shannon Gabriel will resume their innings while Dilruwan Perera will continue with his over.
... Day 3, Session 3 ...
On a track where the bounce is uneven, a score above 150 can be tricky. The way the Lankans batted in their first innings won't make them feel that confident. Their bowlers need to take the last wicket as quickly as possible whereas the hosts will look to add some more handy runs. Meanwhile, it is seen that Perera is being carried off on the stretcher. Let us hope that he is safe and sound. Join us shortly for the final session.
Then, Dowrich and Holder came together once again and started on a promising note. They played sensibly and also scored a few boundaries. It seemed that they will settle down but Rajitha removed the former to keep things going for his side. Holder followed him soon but the handy 26-run 9th wicket stand between Roach and Cummins meant that the Windies took their lead past the 125-run mark.
Not the way the players would have anticipated to go back to their respective dressing rooms but cricket is an unpredictable game. Coming back to the proceedings, the bowlers have continued to dominate on a helpful surface. After Tea, Lakmal and Kumara continued to bowl in a hostile manner. They nipped out two quick wickets to leave the hosts reeling at 5/14.
Here comes the ambulance. Perera is still down and there is no sign of any movement. The situation doesn't look good at all. All we can do now is pray for him. Amidst all this, the umpires have CALLED FOR DINNER ON DAY 3!
Dilruwan Perera to Shannon Gabriel. SIX! Where did that come from? A brilliant shot from the No. 11. Tossed up ball around off, Gabriel with an extension of the arms lofts it cleanly over mid on. Perera near the boundary backtracks, dives but fails to keep the ball in play. He seems to have injured himself as well.
Oh no! This is a serious, serious concern. They replays roll in and they reveal what exactly happened. As Kusal Perera at long on tried to stop the maximum, he landed directly on the advertising boards. He took a blow on his chest. Right now, he is lying down on the ground and is not moving at all. All his teammates run towards him and the security personnel are near him as well.
Dilruwan Perera to Shannon Gabriel. Spinning in sharply, Gabriel tries to defend it but the ball hits his thigh pads and lobs to short leg who takes it and appeals. The umpire is unmoved.
As the 9th wicket has fallen, the session has been extended by half an hour. Meanwhile, Shannon Gabriel ambles out to bat.
Dilruwan Perera to Miguel Cummins. OUT! A wicket that Sri Lanka badly needed considering the condition of the pitch. Perera bowls this one on a shorter length outside off, Cummins attempts to slog it across the line but gets an outside edge. Kasun Rajitha to Jason Holder. OUT! Another one bites the dust! This time, it is the Windies skipper, a very crucial wicket in the context of the game. Rajitha lands this one on the avenue of apprehension and gets the ball to move away as well. Holder should have come forward to that but he doesn't. What he does is that he pokes at it with zero footwork. An outside edge results towards second slip. Kusal Mendis moves to his left and takes a sharp catch. He has been sharp as a hawk in that region. This is his 8th catch of the series, well done! The hosts have a slender lead of 106 and only have two wickets in hand.
Suranga Lakmal to Kemar Roach. FOUR! Streaky runs! However, Roach did well to play that with soft hands. Fullish ball outside off, shaping away. Roach pushes at it but gets it off the outer half through the gap between the slip cordon and the gully fielder. Windies need to keep on accumulating the runs.

Dickwella doesn't go for the catch and that surprises Kusal Perera at first slip. He reacts late. Dives across to his left, gets a hand to it but the ball bursts through. A boundary results. Lakmal and Dickwella look confident in their appeal but Ian Gould feels otherwise. The captain has a look at his keeper and decides to take the DRS. The Hawk Eye rolls in. Well, the ball is clipping the leg stump and hence, the on-field call can't be overruled.
Sri Lanka opt for a review against Jason Holder as they feel they have trapped him in front of the stumps. Looks like it is sliding down leg but they have taken the review considering the importance of this particular wicket. Let's find out...

Kemar Roach makes his way out to the middle.
Kasun Rajitha to Devendra Bishoo. OUT! What is going on here? I can't believe my eyes. Windies are 41 for 7. Rajitha has struck twice in three balls. He angles this one from wide of the crease around the wicket, keeps it on a length and puts in some extra effort into it. The ball pitches and skids off the surface. Bishoo has no idea what just happened. He was beaten by pace for sure as he looks to poke at it from his crease. Before he could turn around, the off stump is already flying towards the keeper. It's all happening here in Barbados.
Kasun Rajitha to Devendra Bishoo. Back of a length from around the wicket and targeting the middle and off stump area. Bishoo gets behind the line and blocks it.
Devendra Bishoo is the new batsman.

He goes for the big pull across the line but is not watching the ball properly. Hence, he is hit flush on the grille of the helmet. He looks a little shaken. Takes his helmet off and tries to gather himself. Thankfully, he is alright.

Lahiru Kumara to Kieran Powell. OUT! Yes, he is gone! He is walking. Windies are falling like nine pins. This has turned from bad to worse for them. Kumara has struck again, though he can't take the credit for it but it will go into his account nonetheless. A shortish delivery down the leg side, Powell goes for the pull but is beaten by pace. However, the ball seems to have deviated before going into the hands of the keeper. The umpire feels the same and raises his finger but Powell reviews it straightaway. The replays come in and the Snicko detects a faint under edge. However, when there is a spike, there is some daylight visible between the bat and the ball. The third umpire relies on that replay and rules in favour of the visiting team. He should have seen another frame as it seemed that Kieran had gloved it. Once the decision has been made, a replay is shown again and the Ultra Edge confirms that the ball brushed the left glove as well. So, anyways, Powell was a goner. Nonetheless, Windies are 14 for 5 and things are not looking too bright for them.

... Day 3, Session 2 ...
There is enough on the surface to make life difficult for the batsmen. To add to that, the stand-in captain, Lakmal has set attacking fields which has worked wonders for the visiting side. The hosts have only managed to add 13 runs to the lead, which is 63 at the moment and find themselves in a precarious situation. The need of the hour for them is to play resolute cricket or else the tourists will continue to cause dents. Join us in a while for the second session.
Session Highlights - 28 overs, 68 runs, 8 wickets! This period of play has been a terrific one for the bowlers. It was the home side which initially bowled with intent this afternoon, especially Jason Holder who finished with a 4-wicket haul. After getting bowled out for a paltry 154 and conceding a lead of 50 runs, the Sri Lankan bowlers didn't let the batting performance take a toll on their bowling. Suranga Lakmal was on fire as he sent both the openers packing in a jiffy. Then, Lahiru Kumara joined in the act and produced a beauty to get rid of Shai Hope.
Suranga Lakmal to Kieran Powell. A lot is happening! Full ball on middle, Powell tries to turn it around the corner but is early into his shot. Hence, he gets a leading edge but the ball falls safely in the cover region. THAT'S TEA ON DAY 3!
Suranga Lakmal to Kieran Powell. A huge, huge appeal for an LBW turned down! That looked close. Lakmal goes wider of the crease and angles in a length ball from around the wicket. Powell camps back and tries to defend it but misses to get pinged high on the pads. The Sri Lankans are confident but the umpire stays put. Lakmal looks at Dickwella but he doesn't opt to take the review. Rightly so, as the Hawk Eye shows that it would have gone over the stumps.

Lahiru Kumara to Shai Hope. OUT! Bowled 'em! The hosts have been caught in shallow waters. They look clueless at the moment. Another case of a batsman in this innings who has departed for a duck. Coming back to the ball, it is in the corridor of uncertainty on a length at 147 clicks. The ball nips in appreciably after pitching. Hope is completely beaten by pace as the ball hits his back leg and then disturbs the stumps. The off stump goes for a cartwheel. The Windies are effectively 59/3!
Leg slip comes in place. Sri Lanka on the attack.

The Sri Lankan skipper has attacked from the word go and it has paid dividends. He runs in with intent and attacks Brathwaite with a length delivery. It is on a stump-to-stump line as Kraigg looks to turn it around the corner. However, all he manages is an inside edge onto his front thigh pad and the ball lobs towards short leg. Kieran Powell comes out to bat.
Suranga Lakmal to Devon Smith. OUT! Timber! Lakmal has outfoxed Smith for the second time in this game. Smith has been constantly troubled in that off stump corridor and he once again falls prey to it. This is on a back of a length outside off and seams in substantially after pitching. Smith is caught in the crease as he attempts to keep it out but only manages an inside edge that crashes into the stumps. Just the start the visitors required. The Windies still lead by 51 runs.

Jason Holder and Suranga Lakmal pose with the winners trophy. They share the accolades as the series as ended in a draw. Both the teams played exceptionally well and provided us with entertainment of highest level throughout the series. Windies won the first match on a canter and looked relentless. The second drawn Test match had some excitement as well courtesy the ball tampering controversy. However, the final roads led to Barbados, where Sri Lanka made history and now returns home with a smile on their faces. This series is over but the cricket action continues. You can catch some T20Is as Ireland play India in their own backyard while England takes on Australia in their only T20I. Till the next time, take care and enjoy. CIAO!
Shane Dowrich is the Player of the Series for his wonderful run with the bat. He says that it would have been nice to finish with a win, although he is pleased with his returns. Talks about the series against Bangladesh starting soon and doing well even in that. States that their bowlers did well to get a lead of 50 but then the Lankan batters took the game away. Mentions that he has been struggling with his back injury, which should get well soon.
Suranga Lakmal, the Sri Lankan captain, is happy to win his first Test as a captain. Praises his bowling attack comprising of three pacers and a spinner. Ends saying that the entire team worked hard throughout the series. Surely, he is a man of few words.
Windies captain and Man of the match Jason Holder starts by praising the Lankan team and their effort with the bat and ball. Asserts that the opening spell of Suranga Lakmal and Lahiru Kumara made life difficult for them. Adds that their batters also came out nicely this morning to put them under pressure and eventually win the match. Praises Shannon Gabriel and says that he has been the star with the ball in this series and he is looking forward to see him perform in the upcoming matches as well.Concludes by saying that few more contributions from the top had made so much difference in the result of the game but he is looking forward to playing better cricket in the future.
Chandika Hathurusingha is caught up by Daren Ganga now. The Sri Lankan head coach is proud of the way the team came back to level the series after being 0-1 down. Adds that they were always hopeful of a win. Credits Jason Holder's efforts before stating his side's second innings efforts helped them. Feels that the attacking field and smart bowling did it for them. Lavishes more praise on their skipper Suranga Lakmal. Expresses that this young bunch would take more confidence from this series as the games were played on seamer-friendly tracks. Lauds Kusal Mendis for adjusting and playing at whatever position the team wanted him to.
A couple of interviews before the presentation. Russel Arnold catches up with the man of the moment, Dilruwan Perera. He is really elated to finish the game. Says that the talk was that their batting was long and they had the belief to win this one. Reckons that the wicket was uneven and as a result, being positive was the key. States that he and Kusal Perera play for the same club in Sri Lanka and hence know each other's game well. Mentions that he was aware of this being a pacers' wicket and was ready to bowl whenever needed. Ends by mentioning a few words of praise about their captain for this game, Suranga Lakmal, and says that the seamer has the experience of leading club sides back home.
Defending the paltry score of 144, Windies wrecked havoc with the pink ball. Due to Kusal Perera's injury, Danushka Gunathilaka was promoted to the opening slot. He, along with Dhananjaya de Silva, stitched a partnership and kept the bowlers at bay. However, Jason Holder and Co. made the ball move like a remote controlled toy. The uneven bounce made it difficult for the batters as the visitors were reduced to 74/5. Needing 63 on the fourth day, they knocked them off with no great fuss.
Sri Lanka's first innings was a sad story to say the least. None of the top order batsmen could play a substantial innings and only the 42 from Niroshan Dickwella salvaged something for them. They managed to drag the score to 154 and conceded a dangerous 50-run lead. But this didn't bother them with their bowling. Windies top five batsmen were sent home with 14 runs. The latter five scored 79 and set the target of 144 for Lankans. Their bowlers hunted in pairs and helped with their chances of winning the match. Things could have been different had Windies taken their chances in the field.
This Test match had everything in it. An exciting green track, wobbly batting and some really good fast bowling. Windies had a bad start after winning the toss and batting, as they were reduced to 8/3 early on. However, the stand of 115 between Jason Holder and Shane Dowrich pushed the score to 204. Lahiru Kumara took a 4-fer for the visitors while the other fast bowlers contributed with wickets at regular intervals.
What a win for the Lankans! Even after losing the wicket of Kusal Mendis in the first over of Day 4, the visitors have cruised to a victory. The bruised Kusal Perera came out to the aid of his team and joined well with Dilruwan Perera to take them out of troubled waters. The latter rode his luck, as he got streaky but important runs for his side. Jason Holder got a 5-fer, his second in Tests, but in a losing cause. He swung the ball beautifully, went past the outside edge on numerous occasions but it just wasn't his day. The others were wayward and didn't really threaten much, which cost them the match.
Jason Holder to Dilruwan Perera. FOUR! They have done it! Sri Lanka have forced their way into the history books. A famous victory in Barbados, becoming the first Asian team to win against Windies at Kensington Oval. Kusal Perera seems to be in some pain. As a result, the physio comes on and sticks some tapes on his abdomen. This is in addition to the few already present. He pops a pill and is ready to go now.

But no sooner did he do that, than he pulled up. The blow that he took last night hasn't completely healed perhaps. Although the ball races away to the fence, the southpaw is left crouching in pain.
Interesting. The delivery before the one that got Mendis, also landed on a similar length. However, on the first instance, it bounced more and on the second, it stayed a bit low. No wonder, the Sri Lankan was undone. The inconsistency of the surface coming to the fore.

Fairytale endings are made, they don't happen. Kusal Perera finds himself in the middle. He has a chance to script a tale for himself. After being doubtful late on Day 3, he's out there with the bat early on the fourth day.
Jason Holder to Kusal Mendis. OUT! Jason Holder strikes, picking up his second Test fifer in the process. This has already been a wonderful venue for him - Kensington Oval - and he asserts the romance with this milestone. He continues from over the wicket and lands it on a length outside off. The previous couple of balls had a bit of away movement in them. This one came in sharply. Beats Mendis' defense and strikes him on the back pad. Perhaps it didn't bounce as much as Kusal expected. An elated appeal is upheld by the umpire. The Sri Lankan, however, takes it upstairs. No use, as the Hawk Eye says that it would have crashed on to the off pole. As a result, the original decision stays and the tourists lose a review. Still 63 away are the Lankans, while the hosts are 4 wickets away. So it's a wicket-maiden to start the day for the Windies.
Gone? Umpire Ian Gould wastes no time in raising the dreaded finger for an LBW appeal against Kusal Mendis. In return, the Lankan hardly wastes time in signaling for the review. Seemed to be plumb.
Jason Holder to Kusal Mendis. Around off, Mendis blocks it with a straight bat.
Jason Holder to Kusal Mendis. Well outside off, left alone.
A third slip comes in now.

Also, Kusal Perera is seen sitting with his pads on in the dressing room. The hosts, in search of the remaining 5 wickets, have handed the ball to Jason Holder first up. Two slips and a gully. Here we go...
PITCH REPORT - Jeff Dujon, as always, is inspecting the 22-yard surface. He begins saying that the track has been consistently inconsistent. Opines that the batters who have been patient to let ball outside off go have been successful. Thus, we can infer that patience is the key, as the pitch seems nothing different than it has been for the last three days.
Thilan Samaraweera has a chat with Roshan Abeysinghe. The batting coach says that it has been difficult indeed for the batters on an up & down surface. He adds that all they can do is control one's own game and can't control the external factors. Asserts that scoring runs is important in the end of the day, than the manner in which they are done. Reckons that not thinking about the target but taking it bit by bit is the key for them. About Sri Lanka's batting in this series, he summarizes that in the first game they went well before being a touch below par in the second. Adds that he has been disappointed with the way they have gone about with their stuff in this game.
Happy news! Kusal Perera is fit and fine. Never good to see a player get injured on the field of play, especially the way the Lankan did. He's been taking part in the warm ups after scans revealed nothing major. However, he'll bat if need be, announces Russel Arnold on air. Good positive news for the tourists.
Windies have been inspirational after being pedestrian with the bat in the second innings. As much as this sport is about team and togetherness, it is hardly bereft of individual brilliances. Jason Holder has perhaps been the one man army. Looking at the home skipper with the ball, one wouldn't be wrong in wondering if James Anderson's soul had come into him. That aside, the entire Caribbean islands would love the hosts to snaffle the remaining Lankan wickets quickly and celebrate a series win. 63 runs or 5 wickets - which figure will get erased first? This space should reveal in due course.
Sri Lanka are 63 runs adrift of where they would want to be in order to end up leveling the series 1-1. They still have half the side left, with Kusal Perera being doubtful to bat. The word is that he might come out if need be. We'll get to know more about it as the game progresses. One thankful thing is that he is cleared of any major harm. Kusal Mendis is still unbeaten on 25 and that he holds the key for them is as obvious as ABC...
Contests are fun when they aren't boring and lopsided. After all, sport acting as an energizer than a lullaby serves well for the fans as well as the stakeholders. Without taking sides it is safe this historic pink-ball Test has been interesting. Here we are entering Day 4, which could possibly be the final one as well. We're glad to have your company for this riveting contest on at the Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados.
... DAY FOUR, SESSION ONE ...
So, the game just about hangs in the balance, with the home side holding a slight upper hand. Ian Bishop on air mentions that if Kusal Perera recovers, he will come out to bat. Sri Lanka still need 63 runs to win. They will pin their hopes on Kusal Mendis but they will also need their lower order to support him. If the hosts get rid of the youngster early, they will become the firm favourites to win this game. Join us on Tuesday at 1430 Local (1830 GMT) to catch all the action. It could be the final day of the match, provided the rain doesn't interfere. Till then, cheers!
Darren Ganga talks to Kemar Roach and asks him about the batting conditions. To that, the fast bowler replies that it wasn't easy to bat today, especially under lights. Suggests that they would have liked to get a few more runs on the board but failed to do so. Praises his skipper by saying that he was on fire and reaped the rewards as well. Concludes by saying that on Day 4, they would like to attack and take the remaining wickets as early as possible to win the Test match.
The touring bowlers came out all guns blazing though. Suranga Lakmal and Kasun Rajitha bowled fierce spells and took three wickets apiece. The Windies batsmen struggled to come to terms with the pace and bounce of the surface, eventually getting bundled out for 93. However, they came back roaring with the ball in the final phase of the day, reducing Sri Lanka to 81/5.
The Sri Lankan batsmen didn't show real application either. At the fag end of the day, Niroshan Dickwella threw his wicket away, handing the advantage to the Windies. Earlier, the visitors couldn't add much to their overnight tally. They lost their last five wickets for just 73, letting the home side take a handy 50-run lead.
Needing 144 to chase, Sri Lanka didn't have a good start as Mahela Udawatte once again fell early. Danushka Gunathilaka played some audacious shots but eventually, that proved to be his downfall. The Windies skipper, Jason Holder, was in the rhythm of his life. He swung the pink ball like a banana and broke the backbone of the visitors' batting order, taking a 4-fer in the process. Had they taken their catches, three to be precise, they would have ran away with the show.
Day 3 is often considered the moving one in a Test match and we certainly experienced that. This track proved to be a nightmare for the batsmen as the bowlers ruled the roost on it. As many as 20 wickets fell in the day, the most ever in a day in the Caribbean. The batsmen never felt settled as the bowlers consistently went past the outside edges and also induced false strokes.
Shannon Gabriel to Dilruwan Perera. Perera must have had his heart in his mouth! Full length ball, angling in sharply. He is caught in the crease as he tries to block it but the ball takes the outside edge. To Dilruwan's delight, the ball falls short of the second slip fielder. THAT SHALL BE STUMPS ON DAY 3!

Jason Holder to Kusal Mendis. Almost went straight to the fielder at covers. Overpitched on middle and off, Mendis leans ahead and tries to flick it through mid-wicket but closes his bat face early. Hence, a leading edge is induced and the ball goes through covers. Roach hares after it but fails to collect it cleanly. The fumble allows the batsmen to come back for the third run. Shoddy work from the pacer, you need to fight for every run now.

Jason Holder to Niroshan Dickwella. OUT! Castled! That was a poor, poor shot and he has paid the price for it. Looked so ordinary there. With so much of time remaining in the game, there was no need to try something that outrageous. Coming back to the ball, it is on a fullish length around off and it is coming in with the natural around the wicket angle. Dickwella tries to manufacture something as he attempts a wild slog across the line but misses it to see his stumps disturbed. Holder leaps in joy as he gets his 4th wicket of this innings. The visitors are still 70 runs behind the target and do not have much batting to come.

Jason Holder to Kusal Mendis. Defended off the back foot by the batsman.
Jason Holder to Kusal Mendis. Dropped! The visitors have missed a catching opportunity for the third time in this innings. How costly will this one prove? Very full ball outside off, Mendis tries to jam it out but seems to have got an outside edge behind. Hope dives to his right but the mistake that he does is he tries to catch it with his right hand. He fails to hold onto it as the ball pops out and falls on the ground.

Niroshan Dickwella is the next man in.
Jason Holder to Roshen Silva. OUT! Holder is on fire and he picks up a 3-fer, also his 20th wicket at the Kensington Oval! Jubilation all around for the home side. The Sri Lankans are going downhill at the moment. The skipper goes wider of the crease and bowls a fullish ball outside off. It swings away ever so slightly as Silva attempts a tame push through the line. He only ends up getting a thick outside edge towards Devon Smith at second slip. He looks a bit jittery but manages to hold onto the catch.
Jason Holder to Roshen Silva. On a length around off, kept out watchfully.
Jason Holder to Roshen Silva. That was so, so close! Good length ball on middle and off, it pitches and seams away. Roshen gets squared up and is beaten. The ball kisses his back pad and just goes over the stumps. The Windies appeal but the height was the factor as the umpire turns it down.

Back of length ball outside off, the ball moves away as Mendis tries to block it but seems to have missed it. Hope, who is keeping wickets at the moment, pouches the ball and appeals. He looks confident along with a few of his teammates. That forces Holder to go for the review. Well, the replays show that the bat is miles away from the bat. What a waste of review by the Windies here.
Howzat? The emotions of the Windies players signify that. However, it seems that there was clear daylight between bat and ball.
Miguel Cummins to Roshen Silva. Back of a length outside off, tapped to covers for a single. That brings up the 50 for the Sri Lankans.

Jason Holder to Roshen Silva. On a length on middle and leg, tucked to the leg side.
Roshen Silva comes out to bat.
Jason Holder to Dhananjaya de Silva. OUT! Knocks him over! What have you done, de Silva? Total error in judgement. Holder was mostly swinging the ball away from him and hence, he expected the same. That is why match awareness counts. In his previous over, the skipper had brought one in substantially. Coming back to the ball, it pitches in the corridor of uncertainty and seams in.
