India and Sri Lanka meet in the three-match T20 Internationals (T20Is). The short series will take place between January 05, 2020, to January 10, 2020. Apparently, this is the first assignment for both India and Sri Lanka in the new year. Initially, Zimbabwe cricket team was scheduled to tour India. However, International Cricket Council (ICC) suspended Zimbabwe, and then Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) invited Sri Lanka for a series.
The three T20Is will be played at three different venues. Guwahati is scheduled to host the series opener while Indore and Pune will host second and third T20Is. All the matches will have a start time of 07:00 PM IST.
The India vs Sri Lanka series marks the comeback of fast-bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who was out of action due to an injury. Shikhar Dhawan also returns to team India after missing series against Bangladesh and West Indies. India, however, will be without the services of vice-captain Rohit Sharma, who has been rested for the series.
