Summary

Nepal will take on Maldives on Day 6 of the South Asian Games 2019 cricket event. The game will be played at Kirtipur in Nepal on December 6, 2019 and is scheduled to start at 12:45 pm Indian Standard Time (IST). The home team come into this match on the back of a dominating victory over a struggling Bhutan side. Meanwhile, Maldives were thrashed aside by Sri Lanka U23 as they lost the match by 98 runs. Nepal are third in the group with one win while Maldives are still winless and fourth on the table.

Nepal got their first win of the tournament when they defeated Bhutan by 141 runs last time out. Opening pair of P Khadka and G Malla were spectacular as they stitched up a partnership of 108 runs. Malla was named as the Man of the Match as the batsmen scored a monstrous 107 off 55 deliveries. DS Airee came in and supported well as he scored a quickfire 45 to get Nepal to a total of 236 runs in their 20 overs. Maldives, on the other hand, were underwhelming against Sri Lanka as they were defeated by 98 runs. None of their batsmen crossed the 30-run mark and will need to step up if they are to record their first victory of the tournament.

Maldives are still in search of their first win after two games while Nepal recorded theirs against Bhutan. The home side are overwhelming favourites in this match and will look to get back-to-back wins.
