Zimbabwe vs Pakistan Highlights And Cricket Score 2nd Match - ODI Commentary
What is your view about 195 as the target? 40 overs for Pakistan to make it 2-0? Or can Zimbabwe give it a good fight by taking 5-6 wickets? The run chase begins at 1330 local (1130 GMT).
Sarfraz Ahmed was in a bad mood throughout the innings. 'AREY JALDI KARO, JALDI KARO!' was his gibbering throughout. Don't understand why though. Must not have slept peacefully like my office colleagues, who struggled to reach on time to office today owing to the hangover of the FIFA World Cup. But in spite of the cold conditions, the bowlers did really well. Usman Khan bowled the best of them, going for around 1 an over in Powerplay 1 and then coming back well at the death too - returning with figures of 4/36. As usual, Hasan Ali got wickets too with a triple against his name. Shadab Khan had trouble gripping the ball and struggled.
Two batsmen scored fifties - Hamilton Masakadza and Peter Moor - in different areas of the game. The skipper was responsible for an uplift in the run rate while the latter did well to hang around almost till the end. Nothing much in the middle, except for a couple of starts from Musakanda and Murray.
Another sad outing for the home side. They showed a lot of promise in the first half of the innings, managing to reach 100 and losing just 3 wickets. But once captain Masakadza fell, so did the promise.
Hasan Ali to Blessing Muzarabani. OUT! Another Pakistan fielder finds the stumps. Zimbabwe do not play out their 50 overs. On middle, Muzarabani pushes it towards mid on. There is a yes-yes no-no between the batsmen - just like you see between a number 10 and a number 11. Eventually, Chatara is sold a dummy down the river but he tries to get back. But Fakhar Zaman finds the stumps with an accurate throw. Hasan Ali is lucky - because had Zaman missed, the throw was heading right to Hasan's face. ZIMBABWE MANAGE 194!
Hasan Ali to Blessing Muzarabani. A slower ball outside off, a wild slog from Muzarabani results in nothing.
Mohammad Amir to Tendai Chatara. Excellent yorker on middle, well dug out.
Mohammad Amir to Tendai Chatara. The batsman has driven it through mid on.
Mohammad Amir to Blessing Muzarabani. Full and outside off, driven through the covers for a single.

Mohammad Amir to Tendai Chatara. Full and straight, pushed away defensively.
Blessing Muzarabani is the last man in.
Hasan Ali to Peter Moor. OUT! That is the end of Moor. It is a short ball, yes, but on the slower side. Peter pulls hard but has got more height than distance. Only finds Shoaib Malik at the mid-wicket fence. End of a decent knock from Moor. Who knows what might have happened had the partnership with Masakadza lasted longer - people in this cabin would have had to purchase hats first, so that they can eat them for predicting that Zimbabwe will get bowled out under 200.
Hasan Ali to Peter Moor. Excellent yorker, well dug out.
Hasan Ali to Tendai Chatara. The batsman failed to make contact and was hit low on the pads. Leg bye given by the umpire.
Hasan Ali to Peter Moor. HALF CENTURY FOR MOOR! Just his third in this format. He has managed to fight hard and keep Zimbabwe in the hunt for a respectable total. On middle and leg, flicked through the leg side for a single.
Tendai Chatara comes in. Zimbabwe have got 16 balls left... can they play out those? Try and get to 200-210?
Hasan Ali to Wellington Masakadza. OUT! Masakadza is well short! Boy, I do need to check my eyes, my spectacles and even my cornea. That did not look out at all. But replays show otherwise. On middle and leg, Masakadza pushed it to the leg side and set off for a single. There was a bit of a stutter from him, looking at his partner and then he continued running. Meanwhile, Hasan Ali showed how good a fielder he is too as he charged to the ball, picked it up in one go and aimed at the stumps - hitting the bull's eye. Replays also show that while reaching the other end, Wellington slowed down a touch - probably with the fear of getting hurt - that cost him big time.
A direct hit. Referred upstairs. To the naked eye, Wellington seems comfortably in...
Hasan Ali to Peter Moor. Short and outside off, cut through point for a single.
Hasan Ali is back on. 7-1-30-2 so far. Would be interesting to see how he celebrates if he gets a wicket.
Mohammad Amir to Wellington Masakadza. Outside off, played straight to point.
Mohammad Amir to Wellington Masakadza. Great running, fielding. Amir bowls a peach again, reversing the ball from a fuller length, around middle, WM flicks it through square leg. The fielder takes it lightly and the batsmen pounce on the opportunity to take the second. The throw coming in at the bowler's end is pretty weak and Moor makes it in comfortably.
Mohammad Amir to Wellington Masakadza. Terrific ball. Comes in a bit wider of the crease and bowls it extremely full, reversing it. Wellington initially looks to drive but just about manages to counter the swing with a defensive flick.
Mohammad Amir to Wellington Masakadza. Outside off, coming in, not giving much room, pushed towards point.
Mohammad Amir to Peter Moor. The batsman has flicked the ball off his pads. One run added to the total.
Mohammad Amir to Peter Moor. Around off, angling in, defended watchfully.
Usman Khan to Wellington Masakadza. On middle and leg, Masakadza helps it behind square on the leg side and gets a couple of runs. A rare expensive over from Usman - going for 12 - he finishes with his second best figures in ODIs - 10-1-36-4.
Usman Khan to Peter Moor. Down the leg side, flicked through mid-wicket for a run.
Usman Khan to Peter Moor. Around off, pushed towards cover.

Mohammad Amir is back on. 6-0-21-0 so far.
Usman Khan to Peter Moor. Full and outside off, driven straight to cover.
Usman Khan to Peter Moor. Right through him. Usman lands it on a length, around off and Moor looks to defend but the ball sneaks past the inside edge.
Usman Khan to Wellington Masakadza. ALMOST THE HAT-TRICK! The wood saves Wellington there. On middle and leg, Masakadza looks to tuck it fine but misses and is hit on the pads. Seems a prime candidate for LBW but then everyone realizes an inside edge involved. A run taken to fine leg.
Who's in next to face the music of the hat-trick? Wellington Masakadza it is.
Usman Khan to Liam Roche. OUT! Dead plumb LBW now. Pakistan hastening Zimbabwe's innings to conclusion here. Usman Khan is on a hat-trick. Full and straight, Roche shuffles across a touch to play it through the leg side but misses. Cannot do that to such balls. Ian Gould barely takes a second to raise the finger.
Liam Roche is the new man in.
Usman Khan to Donald Tiripano. OUT! The middle stump takes a beating this time. A pinpoint yorker, right at the base of the stumps, Tiripano backs away and looks to hit it through the off side but misses. Bang. Sound of timber getting uprooted.

Shadab Khan to Donald Tiripano. The batsman plays the square cut.
Shadab Khan to Donald Tiripano. MISFIELD, FOUR! The fielders are doing well to keep Sarfraz boiling like a tea pot. Full and outside off, Tiripano blasts it through the covers. Imam-ul-Haq comes running across to his left, should have made a regulation stop, but tumbles and parries the ball over!

Hasan Ali to Ryan Murray. OUT! The off stump has taken a beating. Superb bowling. But has Hasan Ali hurt himself? He can get what my colleague is getting for himself right now - a neck message. He was trying to celebrate in his usual manner, trying to swing his hands ferociously, only to find some pain in the left side of his neck. Coming to the ball, he lands it on a length outside off, Murray looks to defend but is comprehensively beaten for pace. The ball darts in, goes past the bat and KABOOM.

DRINKS BREAK. Zimbabwe have done well. They have managed to lose only 4 wickets in 70 percent of their innings so far. There is nothing much on the pitch though and considering that Pakistan bowlers are struggling with the cold, the batsmen should try and start thinking about accelerating. Can they try and get to 250 and make it an interesting contest?

Apparently, Pakistan are an over ahead in terms of the over rate. Have to confess - this is the first time I am seeing this type of a stat. Nice one though. We can see an early finish to the innings then.

Shoaib Malik to Hamilton Masakadza. OUT! That is a good catch and Pakistan have the breakthrough from the 7th bowler this morning. Tossed up outside off, Masakadza gets down and lines him up for another slog sweep. But he only manages to sky it up rather than getting the distance. Also, he chooses to hit it against the wind - not the best parameter to test your strength - only the heat of the sun can usually beat the force of the wind (had read it in a story when I was 8 years old). Seeing it demonstrated now. The fielder, Asif Ali comes running in from deep mid-wicket (after Sarfraz yells ASIF! ASIF! ASIFFFFFF!), loses the ball a bit in the air but manages to get to it and dives to take the catch. A fine 59 from the skipper - but could he have waited a bit more before playing the shot?
Shoaib Malik to Peter Moor. On middle and leg, pushed down to long on for a run. 'PAKDO KHUDI!' was the call. Too wide from the bowler.

High full toss from the leggie, possibly he's finding it difficult to grip the ball because of the cold. The Zimbabwe skipper accepts the gift on offer and mauls it over deep mid-wicket for a maximum. The 50-run stand is up with that as well.

Faheem Ashraf to Tarisai Musakanda. FOUR! Shot. That's come from a man with confidence. Too full on off, Musakanda has no qualms in bashing this down the ground. Past the umpire and away to the boundary line in a jiffy. Made sweet connection on that.

All he can do though, is manage a healthy edge behind where Sarfraz dives low to his right and takes it safely in his gloves.
Faheem Ashraf to Chamu Chibhabha. Short of a length outside off, Chibhabha punches it through covers. Asif Ali chases after it, after misfielding at first. Slides and throws it back in to Sarfraz. He kept bringing it back in till now, then suddenly sends it the other way and gets the desired result. Usman Khan to bowl from the other end with the second new ball.
Mohammad Amir to Brian Chari. First runs of the morning and the innings for Zimbabwe. Length delivery further outside off, Chari reaches out to it and gets it off the outer half down to third man for a single. Good first over from Amir, just the 1 run from it.
Mohammad Amir to Brian Chari. Shaping away from around off, no-brainer for Chari to let it be.
Mohammad Amir to Brian Chari. Big shout for lbw, turned down. Height clearly an issue. Little bit of movement back into the right-hander from Amir. On a length, some extra bounce as Chari is forward to defend. Gets rapped on the back thigh pad, no response from the umpire.
Mohammad Amir to Brian Chari. Better line. Outside off on a good length, arms are shouldered to this one.

It's freezing out there, going to be a tough stay for the fielders in the middle. Two slips in place. Here we go...
TOSS - Zimbabwe win the toss and opt to bat first! There are no changes in the playing XI, both sides are going in with the same team.
Hello and welcome for the 2nd of this 5-match series between Zimbabwe and Pakistan. The first game saw a strong collective showing from the Men in Green, beating Zimbabwe in all departments. The hosts had key players missing as it is, but injuries to more, in particular Solomon Mire, who's been their best batsmen, is a big blow. And to add to that, Malcolm Waller pulling out of the series is not a good sign either. So, an already depleted side, coming on the back of a defeat, have an uphill task against them. They have some fresh faces in the side, so a positive is that they can gain some valuable experience. Pakistan more or less have all their boxes ticked, so they'll be hoping to put in another solid showing. Let's see how it all unfolds...
That is it from our side for this game. Pakistan have made a light work of the Zimbabwe bowling to go 2-0 up in the series. We will catch up with you again at 0915 local (0715 GMT) on Wednesday for the third ODI. Till then, ciao!
Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed starts by thanking the almighty. Then goes on to say that Usman khan was good for them today and later, Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman finished the job. Further praises his strike bowler Usman Khan who he believe has been good since the Sri Lanka series and he is happy with his contribution. Implies that they have to work hard and improve in the fielding department but they are learning and getting better with each game.
Man of the Match Fakhar Zaman says that the wicket has been good and he has doing his best to use it to his advantage. He adds that when you're in a purple patch, you have to make most of it. Asserts that the pitch played better in the second innings and made it easier to bat on.
Alistair Campbell is conducting the post match presentation. He talks with Zimbabwe captain Hamilton Masakadza who starts by saying that he got at the wrong time. Further asserts that they didn't rotate the strike enough and played too many dots in the middle over. Implies that they need someone to make it difficult for the batters in the latter half of the innings. Ends by saying that he is hopeful of getting back into the contest in the next match.
Chasing 195 was never going to trouble the Pakistan batters. Their openers made the pitch look like a batting paradise as they conjured up another century stand. After Imam-ul-Haq was unfortunately run out, Babar Azam joined hands with Fakhar Zaman for an unbeaten 76-run partnership. The latter went on to score his 2nd century in the process and propelled his team to a 2-nil lead in the series. None of the Zimbabwe bowlers could get into the wickets column, which should tell you about their sorry state in this match.
Wow. What a match this has been. I've never seen a more comfortable victory in years. After winning the toss, Zimbabwe chose to bat on a chilly morning and they didn't start well. Usman Khan removed both the openers but their skipper Hamilton Masakadza and Tarisai Musakanda stitched an important 62-run partnership. This was crucial as it got them to a better stage, however, both lost their wickets at the wrong time and that opened the floodgates. Peter Moor was the lone-warrior in the middle-order but no other batters contributed. His half-century did push the score to 194 for the hosts but they failed to cross 200.
Donald Tiripano to Babar Azam. Wide! An extra to end the game! Short and down the leg side, Babar allows it through and the umpire stretches his arms. All over, PAKISTAN WIN BY 9 WICKETS WITH 84 BALLS REMAINING!
Wellington Masakadza to Fakhar Zaman. Quicker around leg, Zaman tries to cut but gets a bottom edge. It rolls to the bowler. Just 1 more needed now.
Wellington Masakadza to Fakhar Zaman. FOUR! Bang! Wellington goes short on this occasion, around off, Zaman uses the depth of his crease and smashes it through cover-point. The field is up and hence there is no one in the deep to cut it off. This is now Fakhar's highest score in ODIs.
