Pakistan vs England Highlights And Cricket Score 3rd Match - ODI Commentary
1st Inn
2nd Inn
End of Over : 50.0PAK: 358/9
Thus, 359 to win and if England have to chase this, they will have to bat really well here. The pitch is a belter and the conditions are sublime for batting but the new ball does have something in it. If the home team is able to get to a good start, there is no reason why this total cannot be overhauled. Should be a cracker of a chase. Do not go too far away...
As for the English bowling, they were sent to all parts of the ground today. Woakes did get 4 wickets but he too was expensive. Willey especially was treated very severely and went for more than 8 and a half runs per over. Moeen Ali was their most economical bowler but he only bowled 6 overs, something that was strange on the part of Morgan.
After being put into bat, the away side lost two quick wickets of Fakhar and Babar but Imam-ul-Haq stood nice and tall at one end. He kept the runs coming and built three important stands, first with Haris Sohail, then with his skipper, Sarfaraz Ahmed and finally with Asif Ali. The last one of the three was the best and it helped Pakistan over the 300-run mark. Just when it looked that Imam's departure for 151 would make a difference of 20 runs in the end, the lower order wielded the long handle to good effect and took the score to a mammoth one.
An absolutely magnificent batting performance from Pakistan in this innings that has lasted exactly 4 hours! Imam was the star of the show with a scintillating knock of 151 but the 3 partnerships that he had in the middle were the main reason why the Asian side could get to their second consecutive 350-plus score, only the second time in ODIs by them! Lusty hits from the lower order too were equally important for the Men in Green to cross the 350-run mark.
49.60
David Willey to Hasan Ali. No, they do not get 360 but what a batting performance this has been! A fuller ball wide outside off by Willey. Hasan lets the ball go and expects a wide but the umpire says that he had moved closer to the ball so it is given as a fair ball. Anyway 16 runs from the last over and PAKISTAN END ON 358/9!!!
49.56
David Willey to Hasan Ali. SIX! Low full toss and that has ended up outside the park! Hasan swings and swings hard! A huge hit over wide long on. Can Pakistan touch 360?

A short ball on middle, Shaheen looks to pull it away but the ball goes off the top half of the bat and lobs in front of cover-point. Willey runs there in his followthrough, outstretches his right hand and holds on for the catch. Stunner! Pakistan might still be bowled out here.
49.16

Low full toss on leg stump, the ball gets Faheem right on the boot. The umpire says no to the appeal and Eoin Morgan reviews immediately. The replays show that the ball is in line and then going on to the leg stump. That looked like it was outside the line of leg but somehow the replay has worked like a marvel.
Review time! An appeal for LBW was turned down against Faheem. The ball had gone away to third man for a boundary. Let's see what the replays say...

It was the slower bouncer, Wasim wanted a big one and looks to pull but gets a top edge that goes straight up and not far. 16.4W
Tom Curran to Imam-ul-Haq. OUT! Haris Sohail is found not to be just run out but also lazy in his attempt to drag his bat in. Dear me, moments like these change the complexion of the game entirely. The 68-run stand is broken and Pakistan will have to start all over again. Coming to the delivery, Tom delivers a good length ball on middle and Imam goes on his back foot to defend. It takes the inner half and rolls near the stumps off his pads. Sohail senses the chance for a run and calls his partner quickly. Imam responds and Curran also sprints across towards the ball. He then shows his football skills to deflect the ball onto the stumps as Sohail tries to get in. They appeal and the square leg umpire goes upstairs. The replays show that Sohail hasn't stretched himself enough while dragging his bat. He is short of the crease and will have to go. Sohail was batting with so much fluency and this certainly is a big blow to Pakistan. A basic mistake, that and England get a bonus wicket.

Drinks break. Pakistan have recovered well after losing two big wickets. The current pair is batting with a lot of confidence and Haris Sohail, in particular, has looked quite fluent in the last few overs. The pitch has nothing to offer to the bowlers after giving some assistance initially and now the English team will have to bowl really well. Tom Curran to bowl after the mini-break.
End of Over : 165 RunsPAK: 93/2

Bairstow dived across to his right and seemed to have caught it but he wasn't appealing. Plunkett was interested though. Hence, the umpires took it upstairs. The replays rolled in and they showed that initially Jonny went with both hands but then seeing the ball dip in, he tried to grab it with his right glove. The ball though touched the ground before settling in his gloves. A fair decision is made eventually.
What happened there? England are appealing for a catch. Has that carried to Bairstow? The soft signal is not out...

David Willey to Babar Azam. FOUR! Beautiful straight drive from a quality batsman. Willey attempts an inswinger but the line is too full and Babar gives it the straight bat treatment. Times his shot superbly and his partner at the other end just leans back a bit to make way for his shot. It speeds past down to long on for a boundary.
3.41
David Willey to Imam-ul-Haq. Fuller and on middle, angling in this time, Imam flicks it in the gap at mid-wicket for a run.
3.30

Chris Woakes to Fakhar Zaman. OUT! The centurion of the last match departs cheaply today. Perfect delivery from Woakes. He angles across a good length delivery outside off and Zaman pokes inside the line without any footwork. It takes the outside edge and flies to Root who catches it in the second attempt. First the ball popped out of his hands but the English Test skipper sticks his right hand out to grab it in front of first slip. Early setback for Pakistan.
0.52

Stat alert - England have won 8 of their last 10 completed ODI against Pakistan but the home side's win rate in Bristol (45.5 percent) is their second-worst at any venue in England.
Pakistan XI - Imam-ul-Haq, Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Asif Ali, Haris Sohail, Sarfaraz Ahmed(WK/C), Imad Wasim, Faheem Ashraf, Hasan Ali, Junaid Khan (in for Adil Rashid), Shaheen Afridi.
England XI - Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow(WK), Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali, Eoin Morgan(C), Joe Denly (in for Adil Rashid), Chris Woakes, David Willey, Tom Curran (in for Jos Buttler), Liam Plunkett.
Pakistan skipper, Sarfaraz Ahmed wanted to bowl first too. Wants his team to get more consistent with their performance in both the departments. Informs that Junaid Khan replaces Yasir Shah.
England captain, Eoin Morgan feels that the boundaries are quite short here and defending totals are quite tough. Although, he feels that the pitch won't change much throughout the course of this match. Informs that Jos Buttler and Adil Rashid make way for Joe Denly and Tom Curran.
Toss - Up goes the coin and it falls in favour of Eoin Morgan. ENGLAND WILL FIELD!
Hello and welcome everyone for the third ODI between England and Pakistan in Bristol. It's bright and sunny at the moment and there is no threat of rain on this game, the most important information at the moment in this part of the world. As far as this series is concerned, England lead it 1-0 after a narrow win in Southampton. Pakistan pushed the hosts in the last game but still have plenty of issues to address, especially with their bowling. For the English team, their batting has been strong always and they too will try to get more clinical with in the bowling department. We are expecting a few changes in both the teams and let's find that out at the toss...
End of Over : 44.5ENG: 359/4
That's all from this high-scoring but one-sided game. 717 runs came in total as their was no respite for the bowlers on this minuscule ground in Bristol. The action for the fourth ODI moves to Nottingham. Do join us on 17th May at 1300 local (1200 GMT) for all the action. Cheers!
Jonny Bairstow is chosen for the Man of the Match award. He led the charge of England's batting superbly with his 93-ball 128.
Earlier in the day, powered by Imam-ul-Haq's impressive century and some handy contributions from Haris Sohail and Asif Ali, Pakistan posted their best ODI total batting first in England. At the halfway stage, they would have really fancied their chances but the way their bowling faltered was really disappointing.
Abysmal bowling and fielding performance from Pakistan. Jason Roy was dropped when he was on 21 and after that, their bowlers received a real pounding. There wasn't a single bowler who left any impact or created any pressure. To add to that, their ground fielding was also very substandard. With the World Cup knocking on the door, Pakistan have a really big issue to address.
It was a usual story for England. Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow went berserk at the start and put together a 159-run stand in no time. That pegged Pakistan back and in spite of losing Jason Roy, the English team always remained in front. Bairstow and Root then combined for yet another handy partnership to keep the visiting team on the back foot. All the batsmen to follow after that contributed to the cause and eventually it was a very easy and comprehensive victory for the numero uno ODI team.
A cakewalk! England have chased down a target of 359 with ridiculous ease. Didn't even break a sweat. Insane batting. The bowlers suffered yet again. Really feel bad for them. This is the joint fifth highest run chase in ODI history and it has been done with 31 balls to spare. Dominance of the bat at its very best.
44.51
Asif Ali to Eoin Morgan. Surely not! Morgan pushes this ball through the point region and picks up the winning run. ENGLAND WIN BY 6 WICKETS and WITH 31 BALLS TO SPARE. They take an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the series!
44.41
Asif Ali to Moeen Ali. Short on middle, Ali misses out on the chance to get a big one and score a fifty. He hits this to long on aerially for a single. Only 1 needed now! Morgan not going to defend 2 balls surely. Is he?

41.2W
Shaheen Afridi to Moeen Ali. OUT! An unfortunate run out for Ben Stokes. Fuller length ball on off, Moeen absolutely drills it back towards the bowler. It deflects off Afridi's left leg to the stumps and Stokes is found strolling out of his crease. Ben knows that and starts to walk to the pavilion. He has a wry smile on his face and also gives thumbs up to his partner. Mere formality left in this match.
41.11
Shaheen Afridi to Ben Stokes. NOT OUT! Yes, the impact is outside off! Stokes survives and Pakistan lose their review. A full toss outside off, Stokes looks to paddle this over fine leg by shuffling across the stumps but misses the ball. He gets hit on the pads. There is an appeal which is turned down by the umpire. Sarfaraz takes a review, maybe in desperation. The replays show that the impact of the ball is outside off and hence the umpire can remain with his original decision!
Review time! An LBW appeal against Stokes has been turned down. Ben looked to ramp this full toss but missed it and got hit on the pads. Looked like it was outside off, the impact though!

39.62
Junaid Khan to Ben Stokes. Good length ball outside off, Stokes tries to push it through the line but it takes the outside half of his blade and runs through the gap between short third man and backward point. A back foot punch by Moeen flies towards extra cover where Imad dives to his left but fails to catch it. Pakistan vs England Highlights And Cricket Score 3rd Match - ODI Commentary
David Willey to Hasan Ali. SIX! Low full toss and that has ended up outside the park! Hasan swings and swings hard! A huge hit over wide long on. Can Pakistan touch 360?

Junaid Khan is in next.
David Willey to Shaheen Afridi. OUT! Remarkable catch! Off the weaker hand! A short ball on middle, Shaheen looks to pull it away but the ball goes off the top half of the bat and lobs in front of cover-point. Willey runs there in his followthrough, outstretches his right hand and holds on for the catch. Stunner! Pakistan might still be bowled out here.
David Willey to Shaheen Afridi. SIX! That has crossed the rope. 2 sixes in 2 balls! A fuller length ball on middle, Shaheen gets under the line of the ball as Willey misses the yorker length. The ball goes over the bowler's head and falls beyond the rope!

Tom Curran to Faheem Ashraf. OUT! The review works! The impact is in line and it's hitting the stumps! The boundary is cancelled and instead, this is a wicket and a dot ball as well.

Chris runs there and takes the catch easily off his own bowling near mid-wicket. Some smiles for the English bowling line-up as one of its bowlers is doing really well.

Asif Ali to Moeen Ali. Short on middle, Ali misses out on the chance to get a big one and score a fifty. He hits this to long on aerially for a single. Only 1 needed now! Morgan not going to defend 2 balls surely. Is he?

Shaheen Afridi to Moeen Ali. OUT! An unfortunate run out for Ben Stokes. Fuller length ball on off, Moeen absolutely drills it back towards the bowler. It deflects off Afridi's left leg to the stumps and Stokes is found strolling out of his crease. Ben knows that and starts to walk to the pavilion. He has a wry smile on his face and also gives thumbs up to his partner. Mere formality left in this match.
