Malaysia has had quite a great run in the on-going T20I series as the team won both its first games. Firsts they beat Thailand by five wickets and in the second game, they went on to defeat Maldives by 73 runs. In the previous game against Maldives, it was Shafiq Sharif who gave a great start to the team scoring 53 runs. Ahmad Faiz made 43 and Syed Aziz scored 53. The team posted a total of 186 runs on the board. In reply, Maldives got bundled out on 113 runs.
Ahmed Hassan from Maldives made the highest score for the squad as he made 40 runs. Mohamed Rishwan was the second highest scorer of the team as he made 29 runs on the board. Malaysia’s Anwar Rahman proved to be very handy for the team as he snapped three wickets.
Sharvin Muniandy got a couple of them. Nazril Rahman, Muhamad Syahadat, Fitri Sham and Neville Liyanage snapped a wicket each. By the end of the match the hosts had the last laugh. Malaysia would now look forward to keep up their winning streak and Thailand would not want to repeat their mistakes they made in the first game.
