West Indies vs Ireland Highlights And Cricket Score 2nd Match - T20I Summary
That is all we have for you from this game. After 4-and-a-half hours and 21.2 overs, we stand looking at the series in the same fashion as we did before this game. 1-0 to Ireland. Will weather be kind to West Indies to try and avoid a series defeat? Can Ireland show that they deserve to win on merit by making it 2-0? Join us on Sunday, 19th January, 2020 at 6 pm local (2200 GMT) for the third and final T20I. ADIOS! TAKE CARE!
Ireland will be very happy with this. They cannot lose the series now and potentially stand a chance to even win this one, given that the final game is also at the same venue, with a similar weather forecast. Their batsmen struggled in testing conditions and will be relieved that they got away with this one.
It is surprising that Kieron Pollard is reluctant to bowl himself. Probably it is because he is the skipper. But here, he showed his worth, picking up a 4-fer. Sheldon Cottrell was excellent too, with 2/10 in 4 overs but it was the Pollard burst which pegged Ireland back. At one stage, they were aiming for 180.
West Indies will feel hard done by. They were just 16 balls away from levelling the series but weather did not allow them to do so. Their bowlers made the most of the difficult conditions for the batsmen in the first innings but sadly for them, their own batsmen could not get enough time in the middle.
10 pm local (0200 GMT) - Unfortunately, that is it. The two captains shake hands and the MATCH HAS BEEN ABANDONED. The game might well have resumed but just when the covers were removed after the previous shower, along came another spray and that ruined the bowlers' runups. That was the final nail in the coffin.
2109 local (0109 GMT) - Oh dear. The heavens have opened up again. It is pounding down at the moment but it is one of those showers which just spray water around and then taper off. This is the third rain stoppage of the game. Stay tuned for what might be a quick resumption.

Paul Stirling to Shimron Hetmyer. On middle, pushed down to long on for a single. 11 runs and a wicket from the over.
Paul Stirling to Lendl Simmons. OUT! CAUGHT! Poor choice of a shot from Simmons. One can understand that with the fickle weather, West Indies wanted to get as many runs as possible in 5 overs, just in case the match was reduced to that many overs. But no planning in this shot. Simmons sees a half tracker and wildly looks to pull. He is not aware that there is a man stationed at deep mid-wicket and ends up gifting a catch straight to him. Harry Tector takes it comfortably.
Paul Stirling to Lendl Simmons. FOUR! Up and over! Full and outside off, Simmons comes forward and belts it over mid off. One bounce and into the fence.
Paul Stirling to Lendl Simmons. Short again, down the leg side, Lendl looks to pull but misses and is hit on the pads.
Paul Stirling to Lendl Simmons. SIX! BLUDGEONED! The West Indies' innings takes off in style. Short and around leg stump, Simmons goes back and pulls it over square leg!
