Delhi advanced to their maiden IPL final after beating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 16 runs in Qualifier 2 of IPL 2020. They will, however, be wary of Mumbai who have already crushed them three times before this season. A win for Delhi will make them the first team since SRH in 2016 to lift the title for the first time.

Mumbai Indians have enjoyed superiority over Delhi Capitals this season in IPL 13 and have beaten Shreyas Iyer’s side all three times they have met in IPL 2020. The reigning champions beat Delhi by five wickets in the first meeting and followed it with a nine-wicket victory in the reverse fixture before also winning by 57 runs in Qualifier 1.

Dhawan was given out off Sandeep Sharma’s bowling while trying to play a reverse sweep. Sharma struck Dhawan on the pads with a full toss and the umpire immediately raised his fingers Dhawan walked back without even looking back at his partner Shimron Hetmyer at the other end. Yuvraj Singh later took to social media to troll the latter.

Mumbai Indians, who are looking to become the first team since Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 2010-11 to successfully defend their IPL title, will be confident of beating Delhi Capitals in the final and clinch a record fifth title. Delhi reached the final after beating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 17 runs in the Qualifier 2 of IPL 2020.

Marcus Stoinis was the star for Delhi. Promoted as an opening batsman, Stoinis scored 38 off 27 deliveries with the help of five boundaries and a maximum. He was also involved in an 86-run opening stand with Shikhar Dhawan to give Delhi Capitals the perfect start. Dhawan scored 78 off 50 deliveries and also crossed the 600-run mark this season.

Delhi Capitals have not beaten Sunrisers Hyderabad in two meetings in IPL 2020. They lost by 15 runs in the first and were convincingly thrashed by 88 runs in the previous clash. SRH are one of the two teams Delhi Capitals have not beaten this season. DC and SRH have met 17 times in IPL and Hyderabad lead head-to-head records with 11 wins.

Hetmyer later came to bat in the 14th over and smashed 42 off 22 deliveries and gave DC the end flourish. His innings was studded with four boundaries and a maximum. He helped DC post 189 runs on the scoreboard. Stoinis also struck with the ball and picked two wickets in the same over to peg SRH behind in the chase.
