Kolkata Knight Riders vs Chennai Super Kings Highlights And Cricket Score 29th Match - T20 Summary
The Man of the Match for tonight's game is Imran Tahir for his spectacular bowling in the first innings. He picked 4 wickets to derail the Kolkata innings. That's all from Kolkata then, but the Indian T20 League action continues. The second game of the double-header is already underway and Delhi are batting first there. Switch tabs for all the action!
Coming to the Kolkata bowling, there was not much to be said other than that there was only a single bowler who was on top of his form tonight. Sunil Narine tried his best as he bowled an economical spell but the total set on the board was eventually not enough. Earlier on in the evening, Lynn played a stroke-filled knock of 82 but even that got the hosts only 161. Chennai's bowlers were too good especially Tahir, and played a massive part in this win. The chase was completed comfortably and it was also the 10th one on the trot in the League for the team who was batting second. Thus, Kolkata now have lost 3 in a row and both their games this year to the Men in Yellow. They need to turn things around quickly or they could find themselves in a bit of pressure going ahead.
The chase of 162 began in spectacular fashion with Faf du Plessis setting the pace early on with a flurry of boundaries. His opening partner, Shane Watson, though did not last long, and in came Raina to replace him. The southpaw kept peppering the boundaries at frequent intervals and also kept the singles and doubles coming to ensure the required run rate never got out of control. Though wickets fell around him, he did not play false shots and eventually made sure his side ended up on the winning side with the help of Jadeja who played a scintillating cameo right at the end.
Another day in the Indian T20 League, another win for Chennai. Does not matter how they come, what matters is they cross the line. Every single game, someone or the other puts up their hand and performs for the team. Signs of a champion side! Tonight it was Suresh Raina. Walking in early in the innings, he continued and remained unbeaten till the end with a magnificent 58 off 42 balls. Along with the support of Ravindra Jadeja who made 31 off 17 balls, he ensured that Chennai picked up their 7th win of the season!
