Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Delhi Capitals Highlights And Cricket Score Eliminator Match - T20 Summary

End of Over : 19.5 DC: 165/8

Hyderabad have been eliminated! Delhi win their first ever knockout game in the Indian T20 League. Can they now make it to their first ever final? For that, they have to cross a hurdle called Chennai. Join us on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 7.30 pm local (1400 GMT) for all the action from Qualifier 2. ADIOS! TAKE CARE!

RISHABH PANT HAS BEEN NAMED THE MAN OF THE MATCH. On his knock, Pant says that on this type of wicket, if one gets set, he has to stay till the end. Admits that he got it very close but could not quite finish it off. Promises to do it the next time. On his mental state under pressure, Rishabh says that he always tries to be positive else it could start playing on your mind. On him attacking Bhuvneshwar Kumar, RP says that one plays the same set of bowlers almost everyday. Adds that he just looks to attack the ball, not the bowlers. Stresses that he did not look to hit the ball hard, just focussed on timing it.

Victorious Delhi skipper, Shreyas Iyer, is all smiles. On the last over, Iyer says that he cannot tell what he had in his mind nor can he comment on his expressions. Now, he gathers himself and says that it is an amazing feeling to have qualified for Qualifier 2. Praises his unit for expressing themselves and states that they are not fearing anyone and are ready to take on Chennai on Friday. On Delhi's bowling this evening, Iyer praises his bowlers for coming back strongly after Guptill's start and then Amit Mishra for choking Hyderabad in the middle overs. On Pant and Shaw, Shreyas feels that they are those type of batsmen who should not be told anything as they are better when they go in their own flow, as was evident in this game.

Prithvi Shaw now comes across for a chat. Says he dedicates this knock to his team as they backed him. Adds that he wasn't scoring a lot but they believed in him and he came good. Adds that the support staff helped him a lot and he also believed in himself, playing his natural game. Further admits that he is always nervous. On Rishabh Pant, he says that the keeper-batsman batted beautifully is always there when he is needed. On the planning for Friday, Prithvi says that they are going to enjoy the night as they have not planned on how they are going to go about in the next game.

Hyderabad skipper, Kane Williamson, says they fought really hard to get to where they did as they did not feel the wicket was very good. They felt they would be back in the game after the Powerplay and that is what happened. Admits that it is frustrating but credits the way Delhi played. Feels that 162 was a winning total but Delhi started the Powerplay well. Praises the way his bowlers brought the team back in, though he then credits Delhi to get over the line. Agrees that Warner and Bairstow were brilliant while they were here but the unit believed in itself. Adds that they did put up some strong performances towards the end but were struggling to get over the line.

A factor which has been the reason why Hyderabad were not consistent at all this season. Their bowling. Their most reliable bowler, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, was not at his best at all and struggled even tonight. Rashid not being able to take wickets was a concern and tonight, even though he showed his class, there was not much support from the other end. Khaleel bowled his heart out and if he had bowled the 17th, things might have been different.

With 34 needed from 18 balls, it seemed like Hyderabad's game to lose. And they perhaps lost it there, due to Kane Williamson's captaincy. He has better idea than all of us here but with Khaleel having 2 overs left, Willy went for Basil Thampi. Pant thumped Thampi for 22 runs in the 18th over and it is really fitting that Delhi won from there, in spite of choking at the end.

162 was a good total on a slow track but Dhawan and Saha's 66-run opening stand put Hyderabad on the back foot. But once the Powerplay was over, the slower bowlers came into play. The Orange team started running through the Delhi middle order and it was all upto Rishabh Pant.

Phew! Fingernail chewing is done. Delhi have won a playoff game for the first time in the Indian T20 League history. They should have won it in a canter but some nerves almost saw them lose the game out of their grasp.

19.5 4

Khaleel Ahmed to Keemo Paul. FOUR! Delhi enter Qualifier 2! Keemo Paul has hit that to the boundary. A short ball and on middle, it is slower in pace. Paul picks it and powers it through square leg. The fielder in the deep runs to his right and tries to stop it but fails to do so. The Delhi players rush onto the field. They are elated as THEY WIN BY 2 WICKETS!

19.4 W

Khaleel Ahmed to Amit Mishra. OUT! Mishra has come in the way of the throw and he has been given his marching orders! That is the correct decision and now Delhi need 2 in 2 with Keemo Paul on strike. Drama here. Khaleel bowls a full ball and it is outside off. Mishra swings but misses. They go for a bye. Saha misses the throw at his end. Ahmed collects it and throws it at his end but it hits Mishra. They appeal for obstruction of field and Williamson is also going for the review. First it is time for the review and it shows no edge. However, another discussion takes place and they now want to check if Mishra has come in way of the throw. After several replays, the decision is ruled in the favor of the bowler.

19.3 1

Khaleel Ahmed to Keemo Paul. A single now! 3 in 2. Paul works it through mid-wicket and takes one.

19.2 0

Khaleel Ahmed to Keemo Paul. A dot! Short and wide outside off, this is inside the tramline. Paul looks to put bat on ball but misses. 4 in 3 needed.

19.1 1

Khaleel Ahmed to Amit Mishra. Cool, calm and composed by Mishra. He opens the face and guides it down to third man for one. 3 needed in 5 now.

19.1 wd

Khaleel Ahmed to Amit Mishra. WIDE! Not the start Williamson would have wanted. It is the slower one outside off, Mishra looks to put bat on ball but then at the very end leaves it. It is outside the tramline and it has been wided.

End of Over : 19 7 Runs 19.5: 158/7
18.6 0

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Keemo Paul. A dot which means 5 is needed in the last over. Also, Mishra will face the first ball. Length and around off, Paul looks to defend but misses. Game on here!

18.5 W

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Rishabh Pant. OUT! Pant is out of here! Are Hyderabad still in this? Once again Rishabh is seen throwing it away. Ponting in the dug out is not a happy man. Another slower one which does the trick. It is on a length and around off, Pant looks to finish it off in style but only hits it high up in the air towards long off. Nabi once again takes a very good, under pressure catch. 5 needed in 7, into the bowlers are Hyderabad.

18.4 0

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Rishabh Pant. Another dot! Pant works it towards Kumar. He slips and fails to collect it. Pant does not take a run. Kumar is down but nothing wrong with him.

18.4 wd

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Rishabh Pant. WIDE NOW! Short and outside off, Pant looks to upper cut it but misses. The umpire feels it is above the batsman's head and it has been wided.

18.3 6

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Rishabh Pant. SIX! When Pant is there, Delhi need not fear. Two blows was what Delhi needed to end this game, they have got one. Length and on off, Pant lofts it with ease over the long off fence for a biggie.

18.2 0

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Rishabh Pant. A dot now! Short and outside off, Pant cuts but finds point.

18.1 W

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Sherfane Rutherford. OUT! That is up in the air... taken! Is it a little too late though? Kumar bowls the slower one outside off, Rutherford does not pick it. He is way too early in the shot and only manages to hit it into the sky towards long off. Nabi there settles under it and takes it nicely. Not sure though if this shot was needed. 12 now in 11 balls needed.

End of Over : 18 22 Runs 19.5: 151/5
17.6 1

Basil Thampi to Sherfane Rutherford. Outside off, Rutherford looks to push it to the off side but the ball takes a thick inside edge towards square leg. A run taken. 22 from the over!

17.5 1

Basil Thampi to Rishabh Pant. On middle and leg, worked through mid-wicket for a run.
