Delhi Capitals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Highlights And Cricket Score 30th Match - T20 Commentary
So, the ball very much in Hyderabad's court as things stand. But, if Delhi somehow manage to get a couple of early wickets, they could make this really interesting. Because, as we all know, the hosts' middle order hasn't performed like their openers have. Will be intriguing to see how it pans out. The second half will begin shortly.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar gives a quick interview. Says that he's happy to contribute to the team. Adds that it's always tough coming back from injury and he has prepared well for the tournaments to come. Mentions that it was a much-needed break for them in this fast-paced tournament. On the total, Kumar replies that it's a good score to chase but they need to bat well too. Ends by praising Khaleel Ahmed for his bowling.
Delhi will feel they haven't got much on the board. The surface looks a decent one to bat on and maybe they've fallen about 20 runs short. The tourists didn't get off to a good start, but regained some momentum with Munro and Iyer knocking the ball around. After the former's dismissal, Iyer took the mantle up with Pant, who were going along well, but both were dismissed in quick succession and at the wrong time, as they needed to go big after their 50-run stand. That took the momentum away from them and let Hyderabad gain the upper hand.
13 runs off the final over for Delhi, but even then this might not be enough. After electing to bowl, Hyderabad have been on top, at least for the major part of the innings. They got a couple of early wickets, and despite there being a couple of solid stands from the middle order, they never let them run away much and leak too many runs. They picked up wickets at regular intervals and restricted the visitors to a decent total. Khaleel starred with the ball on his return to the side, with a 3-wicket haul, while Bhuvneshwar, who was slightly expensive, took 2 for himself.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Kagiso Rabada. Back of a length on leg, cramps the batsman for room. Rabada makes room and pulls but only as far as deep mid-wicket for a single. DELHI FINISH WITH 155/7!
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Axar Patel. Full outside off, it's driven through to long off for one.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Kagiso Rabada. Another yorker, outside the line of off stump this time, Rabada digs it out towards mid off and pinches a quick run.
Kagiso Rabada strides out the middle next.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Keemo Paul. OUT! That's dead plumb. Bhuvneshwar comes back with an excellent yorker. Fires it on middle stump, Paul looks to dig it out but it's just too good for him. Is caught on the back pad flush in front of the stumps. No trouble for the umpire to raise his finger.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Keemo Paul. SIX! That's a fine hit. Paul expects this to be a little short, so he sits on the back foot and muscles the heave deep into the wide long on stands.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Axar Patel. Not much damage done. Patel smacks this to long off for just a single.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Axar Patel. No ball! Is it for overstepping? No. There were three fielders inside the ring. Oh, dear. Full toss on the stumps, Patel works it towards wide mid on. Two runs are taken. Free Hit coming up now...
Bhuvneshwar Kumar will bowl the final over.
Sandeep Sharma to Axar Patel. Low full toss on the stumps, Patel slogs it through to deep mid-wicket. A single to end the over.
Sandeep Sharma to Keemo Paul. Not out! Sandeep bowls a length ball on leg and it keeps angling down, Paul looks to flick but misses and is caught on the pads. Loud shout but it's turned down. Hyderabad take the DRS and it's taken upstairs. Replays show it is missing leg. The review is lost and a leg bye is taken.
Review taken. It's for an lbw decision against Keemo Paul. Seems to be missing leg.
Sandeep Sharma to Axar Patel. Slower one outside off, slightly full in length, Axar drags the slog towards wide long on and gets off strike.
Sandeep Sharma to Axar Patel. FOUR! A freebie from Sandeep and Patel puts it away. Wide full toss outside off, the left-hander throws everything at it and crashes it through the covers for a boundary.
Sandeep Sharma to Keemo Paul. Short ball which sits up for Paul, he swivels and pulls it in front of square leg for a run.
Sandeep Sharma to Axar Patel. Length delivery rising off the surface, Patel punches it on the up through the covers and takes one.
Keemo Paul to bat next. Also, Sandeep Sharma is back on to bowl.
Rashid Khan to Chris Morris. OUT! The dropped chance doesn't matter, Rashid gets his man eventually. Does it on his own. Bowls the flipper on the stumps, Morris plays across the line and misses the ball altogether. It goes through bat and pad and disturbs the stumps behind. The Afghan finishes his spell, 4-0-22-1!
Rashid Khan to Chris Morris. Dropped! Bairstow's head goes down immediately. That's a chance should have been taken and he usually takes as well. The leg break around off, Morris plays and edges it behind. Bairstow gets low to collect, but can't hold on.
Rashid Khan to Axar Patel. The batsman flicks it away with a wristy shot. The batsmen have run through for a single.
Rashid Khan to Chris Morris. Leans into this and drives it through to long off for a single.
Rashid Khan to Chris Morris. The googly, shorter in length on middle and off, Morris looks to pull but gets an inside edge onto his pads.
Rashid Khan to Axar Patel. Quicker through the air, around off, Patel gets an inside edge down towards fine leg for a single.
Rashid Khan is back on.
Khaleel Ahmed to Chris Morris. This length delivery is going away from around off, Morris looks to punch but gets it off the under edge beside him. That brings an end to Khaleel Ahmed's spell, he finishes with figures of 4-0-30-3.
Khaleel Ahmed to Axar Patel. Khaleel angles it into the left-hander, Axar works it through square leg and jogs across to the other end.
Khaleel Ahmed to Axar Patel. Rising off the deck as Khaleel lands it on a back of a length around off. Axar looks to cut but gets beaten.
Khaleel Ahmed to Axar Patel. Wide! Hits the deck hard and bangs it in short, too high though and the umpire signals it as a wide.
Khaleel Ahmed to Chris Morris. Fuller on the stumps, Morris lofts it down towards long on for a single.
Axar Patel out now to bat.
Khaleel Ahmed to Rishabh Pant. OUT! Now the other set batsman is out. Good captaincy from Williamson for bringing Khaleel on and superb stuff from the pacer to deliver. Dipping yorker which Pant takes on the full, gets low and looks to clear long on. Isn't in any control of the shot though and hands a simple catch to Deepak Hooda coming in from the deep. This isn't looking good for Delhi, they need a big finish.
Khaleel Ahmed to Chris Morris. The batsman has pushed it to the cover region. One run added to the total.
Khaleel Ahmed returns.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Chris Morris. Off the mark. Morris opens the face of the bat and guides it to third man for a single.
Chris Morris is the new man in.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Shreyas Iyer. OUT! GONE! This is good piece of bowling by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, gets his 100th wicket for Hyderabad in the League as well. It's the change-up once more, Kumar bowls it short and this time Iyer looks to play the ramp shot. Can only manage an edge, however, as it goes behind and Bairstow takes his third catch of the innings. Partnership of 56 is broken. Delhi would have wanted these two to finish the innings.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Shreyas Iyer. Another superb fielding effort. This time from Shankar. On the shorter side of the length, outside off, Iyer slaps it through the covers. Vijay moves to his right and stops it with a good slide. Two runs to the total.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Shreyas Iyer. Well bowled. Takes the Delhi skipper by surprise. At 140 clicks, Bhuvi bangs it in short and takes Iyer by surprise. There's no room to free the arms, so all Iyer can do is get a soft top edge on his attempted pull shot which falls close to him.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Rishabh Pant. Short of a good length outside off, Pant slaps it over covers for just a single. There is a man in the deep.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Shreyas Iyer. Strays a bit with his line, spills it around leg. Iyer attempts to tickle it fine but it goes off his thigh pad. Bairstow does well to dive to his left and make a half-stop. The batsmen take a leg bye.
Strategic break. The going has been a bit slow from Delhi after losing Colin Munro but the current pair has the ability to up the scoring ante. Five more overs to go and Delhi will try to push their score close to 180, at least. Hyderabad have bowled decently so far and have the overs of Bhuvneshwar (2), Khaleel(1), Sandeep(1) and Rashid(1) left to bowl at the death. Expect a good battle between bat and ball. Bhuvi is into the attack now after the mini-break.
Sandeep Sharma to Shreyas Iyer. A low full toss on middle, Shreyas pushes it down to long on for a single.
Sandeep Sharma to Shreyas Iyer. A slower delivery, full and on the pads at 112.6 kph, Shreyas knocks it down to long on for a couple of runs. 50-run stand comes up, it has taken 41 balls to come! Surely, this pair would like to better this one.
Sandeep Sharma to Rishabh Pant. Angles across a very full ball wide outside off, Pant forces it down off the inner half of the bat to long on for a single.
Sandeep Sharma to Shreyas Iyer. This is smart bowling. Showing great control over his art, Sandeep. Follows up the shorter one with a yorker on middle, Iyer squeezes it out to covers and takes one.
Sandeep Sharma to Shreyas Iyer. Short in length delivery, outside off, Shreyas attempts to play the pull shot but fails to connect.

Sandeep Sharma to Shreyas Iyer. Walks a step across, gets behind the line and turns it through the vacant mid-wicket area for a single.
Sandeep Sharma to Rishabh Pant. Short of a good length around off, Rishabh offers a firm punch towards mid off and rushes to the other end.
Sandeep Sharma to Rishabh Pant. FOUR! Another good effort from the Afghan, in vain though this time. Back of a length outside off, Pant slaps the cut through cover-point. Khan out in the deep scampers to his right, tries to stop it with a dive but is unable to this time.
Sandeep Sharma to Shreyas Iyer. Sharp bumper on middle, Shreyas somehow pulls it to deep mid-wicket. Rashid out in the deep is quick to the ball and he fires a direct hit at the bowler's end all the way from the deep. A single is taken.

Sandeep Sharma to Rishabh Pant. On a length on middle and leg, cuts back in, catches Pant high on the thigh pad as he tries to put bat on ball. It falls on the leg side and the batsmen take a leg bye.
Sandeep Sharma on to bowl now.
Rashid Khan to Shreyas Iyer. FOUR! Nice way to end the over. Short and in line of the stumps, Iyer rocks back and pulls it with complete control over mid-wicket. Nobody out there in the deep, so the Delhi skipper will pick up a boundary.
Rashid Khan to Shreyas Iyer. Fullish outside the line of off stump, Iyer plays and misses.
Rashid Khan to Rishabh Pant. Pant moves inside the line of this full ball and works it through mid-wicket for a single.
Rashid Khan to Shreyas Iyer. An appeal for a leg before, turned down. Was quite close, but probably just missing the off stump. Served on middle and off, it turns away. Iyer looks to defend but it goes off his back pad and past Bairstow. The batsmen take a leg bye.
Rashid Khan to Shreyas Iyer. Another defensive shot on offer. Iyer keeps it out safely.
Rashid Khan to Shreyas Iyer. Quicker through the air, Shreyas defends with a straight blade.
Vijay Shankar to Rishabh Pant. FOUR! Streaky runs for Rishabh Pant. Full and wide outside off, his eyes light up. So he throws everything at it, only to get a thick edge. It speeds through the vacant slip cordon and away to the third man boundary behind.
Vijay Shankar to Rishabh Pant. Behind a good length, close to the off stick, the southpaw keeps it out from the back foot.
Vijay Shankar to Shreyas Iyer. The batsman plays it with an angled bat and guides it to third man. One run added to the total.
Vijay Shankar to Rishabh Pant. Fraction straight in line, on a length, Rishabh clips it in front of square leg and rotates strike.
Vijay Shankar to Shreyas Iyer. Shaping in on middle and leg, it's easily worked away square on the leg side for a run.
Vijay Shankar to Shreyas Iyer. A leading edge which falls in no man's land. This length ball just sticks off the surface, which makes Iyer go into the flick shot early. It pops up off the leading edge and lands in the mid-wicket area. A couple of runs are taken.
Rashid Khan to Rishabh Pant. Quicker through the air on middle stump, Pant blocks it out from the back foot. 10 runs off the first Rashid Khan over.
Rashid Khan to Shreyas Iyer. This short delivery is pulled through mid-wicket for a single.
A slip comes in.
Rashid Khan to Shreyas Iyer. FOUR! A bit cheeky, but he's meant it fully. Good shot. Extremely full outside off, Iyer opens the bat face and slices it through short third man. It's placed quite fine, so will run away to the boundary line.
Rashid Khan to Shreyas Iyer. Peach! Rashid flights it nicely around off, lands it just behind a driving length, Iyer is half forward to defend but gets beaten past the outside edge.
Rashid Khan to Rishabh Pant. Turning in on middle and leg, Pant tries to work it on the leg side but it goes off his pads. One run taken. It actually goes off the inside edge first.

Strategic break. Also, Rashid Khan is into the bowling attack now.
Vijay Shankar to Rishabh Pant. Strays on the pads, it's flicked down to fine leg for a single.

Vijay Shankar to Shreyas Iyer. Waits for the ball to come to him, plays it late as he runs it down to third man for a run.
Vijay Shankar to Shreyas Iyer. FOUR! The timing on that is so sweet. Shankar overpitches this as he lands it outside off, Iyer drives it right between extra cover and mid off, beating the dives of both fielders. It races away to the fence for a boundary.
Vijay Shankar to Rishabh Pant. Takes some pace off this. Just ahead of a length outside off, Pant gets off the mark with an uppish drive to long off. Single to the total.

Rishabh Pant walks into the middle next. Vijay Shankar is brought into the attack as well.
Abhishek Sharma to Colin Munro. OUT! Gone next ball! No need to chase after this. The adrenaline and the excitement have got to him. Sharma picks up his first of the evening. He fires it full and wide outside off, Munro reaches out to smash it through the off side but gets a nick behind. Bairstow takes a sharp catch and appeals. The umpire's finger follows and the Kiwi will have to make the long walk back. Delhi in some trouble here now, they've already lost three wickets.

We are ready to get this underway. Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan, who returns to his former home, stride into the middle. Bhuvneshwar Kumar will take the ball first up. Here we go...
Delhi XI - Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Colin Munro (in for Colin Ingram), Shreyas Iyer (C), Rishabh Pant (WK), Chris Morris, Axar Patel, Amit Mishra (in for Rahul Tewatia), Keemo Paul, Kagiso Rabada, Ishant Sharma.
Hyderabad XI - David Warner, Jonny Bairstow (WK), Kane Williamson (C) (in for Mohammad Nabi), Vijay Shankar, Ricky Bhui (in for Manish Pandey), Deepak Hooda, Rashid Khan, Abhishek Sharma (in for Yusuf Pathan), Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Sandeep Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed (in for Siddarth Kaul).

States that they've talked that whoever is the set batsman, he has to stick in and score big. Let's everyone know there are two changes as Colin Munro and Amit Mishra replace Colin Ingram and Rahul Tewatia.
Kane Williamson says they will bowl first. Laughs and states that he didn't have much about the choice as Shreyas Iyer called it wrong. Adds that both teams are strong so is looking forward to the match. On his injury, mentions that it's better now and he's ready to go. Reckons that they always enjoy playing here and adds that despite the varying surfaces, he doesn't mind. Informs that there are four changes - he himself is in, along with Ricky Bhui, Abhishek Sharma and Khaleel Ahmed for Mohammad Nabi, Manish Pandey, Yusuf Pathan and Siddarth Kaul.
TOSS - Hyderabad win the toss and opt to field! A good call from Williamson? The team chasing has won the last 10 games in this season. Will be interesting to see how it goes.
The Warner-Bairstow duo has been the key for Hyderabad, but it's no coincidence that the few times they failed to deliver, the team has suffered. Their middle order is largely untested still and it might just be called into action once again in this contest. Delhi are looking good, with Shikhar Dhawan finding some much-needed form as well. Combine that with their potent bowling attack and skipper Shreyas Iyer's good touch, and the visitors just might cause problems for the home side. Should be a fun game. The toss and team news coming up soon...
Hello and welcome for Match 30. Things are poised quite interestingly in the midfield battle. We're around the halfway mark of the season and there's a huge clutter in the points table. With Rajasthan and Bangalore both picking up wins in their respective last games, it's tight in there. Hyderabad are 6th in the table with 6 points, but the three teams above them are on 8 points, having played at least a game more. Delhi gained some confidence with a win against Kolkata last time out and come into this game with the momentum, where the hosts suffered a defeat against Ravichandran Ashwin's Punjab.
We're done with this one, but Indian T20 League action continues. Next up, on Monday, we have Mumbai welcoming Bangalore to the Wankhede Stadium at 2000 local (1430 GMT). Do join in for that one. Goodnight and take care!
Man of the Match, Keemo Paul says that it is a dream come true for him and thanks everyone for the support. On playing the Indian T20 League, Paul says that it is the biggest league in the world and he just wanted to enjoy it. On his slower deliveries, Keemo says that the back-of-the-hand deliveries came out pretty nicely and it was all about adjusting to the pitch and the conditions. Regarding his batting and the big six that he hit, KP says that he enjoys his batting. Ends by thanking everyone who supported him to get to this level.
Delhi skipper, Shreyas Iyer says that he and Rishabh Pant had decided that they will try to stick around for as long as possible and one of them will take charge due to the slowness of the surface. Mentions that Axar Patel and Keemo Paul's cameos helped them get to a fighting total. Ends by saying that they have good team spirit and wants his side to continue having that.
Kagiso Rabada says that they had a game plan and they just stuck to it and hoped it to go their way. On his variations, Rabada replies that it's been a trend so far and you have to vary your pace to succeed in this part of the world. Lauds Keemo Paul and Chris Morris for doing a brilliant job. On the leadership role in the squad, Rabada thinks and says that he has the responsibility on his shoulders and he just wants to do his best and do everything for his team. Talking about his catches, Rabada mentions that you have to do your best and also tells that they are working hard in all the departments.
Hyderabad skipper, Kane Williamson says that their bowlers did a great job but admits that they didn't get going in the second half. Terms it as an unfortunate performance and credits Delhi for playing well. Mentions that there is no room for complacency in this tournament and feels that they didn't execute their plans well. States that Delhi adapted well to the demands of the surface and used their change of pace to good effect.
Delhi will be mighty pleased with this performance. They only had a decent score to defend, so execution was key. Bairstow and Warner's start would have put most teams off, but when you have the likes of Rabada, Morris and Paul in the team, anything is possible. These three bowlers shared the 10 wickets between them. Paul kicked things off getting Bairstow and Williamson, then Rabada and Morris cleaned house in the death overs. Paul finished with 3 along with Morris, while Rabada got 4 to his name.
A great performance from Delhi. No better way to sum it up. This could be one of the best bowling displays in the history of the competition. Three consecutive defeats on the bounce for the hosts. Chasing 156, Warner and Bairstow once again got their side off to a good start, adding 72 between them before the Englishman departed. What followed was unimaginable. From 101/2 in the 16th over, they got bundled out for 116 before the 19th over even ended. Barring the two openers, nobody even got into double figures. A truly astonishing fact.
Kagiso Rabada to Khaleel Ahmed. OUT! Take a bow, Kagiso Rabada. He's wrapped Hyderabad up before the game even goes into the final over. Fires an accurate yorker on the stumps, Khaleel can't do much about it. The furniture behind is rattled and that's the end of this contest. DELHI WIN BY 39 RUNS!
Khaleel Ahmed is the last man in.
Kagiso Rabada to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. OUT! Rabada has his third of the night. Will Hyderabad even survive the 20 overs? A short ball, Bhuvneshwar Kumar backs away and tries to slap it. But it goes off the top edge and Rabada runs to the ball at the striker's end and takes it himself, just about avoiding Pant who also comes in to take the catch.
