Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Rajasthan Royals Highlights And Cricket Score 45th Match - T20 Commentary

End of Over : 20.0 SRH: 160/8

It looks like a good wicket to bat on and all those wickets going down were due to the poor shot selection and execution. The target of 161 is not too challenging but the pressure of do-or-die makes you do funny things. Let's see how Rajasthan respond...

Jaydev Unadkat laughs and says pushing the keeper and taking the catch was a good moment. He knew the wicket would get slow later in the innings and they just stuck to their plans. He feels they assessed the wicket well having played a lot of games here. Admits they did not start well but then they turned up the game quickly. Admits that Smith was not happy at the start but was happy with the way they ended.

Rajasthan were under pressure when the 75-run partnership was going. But then we witnessed a ripper of a catch from Steven Smith which turned things around for the home team. At the back end of the innings, the pink team picked up 5 wickets in the last five overs and never allowed Hyderabad off the hook. It was a complete team performance from the hosts with all the regular bowlers picking up two wickets each. Apart from doing well with the ball, Jaydev Unadkat was very active in the field as well and he is now giving an interview...

Exceptional bowling from Rajasthan in the second half to restrict Hyderabad to a par score. Although they didn't finish well as Varun Aaron conceded 18 runs in the final over. The touring team were going at a decent rate when the pair of Warner and Pandey were batting but then suddenly lost the plot. The Aussie played a very uncharacteristic knock which didn't feature a single boundary but Manish Pandey was in sublime touch as he stroked yet another half century.

19.6 6

Varun Aaron to Rashid Khan. SIX! Rashid Khan finishes the innings with a biggie, first of the match! Aaron dishes out a slower one, it's on the shorter side outside off, Rashid picks it early and smashes it over mid off. It falls flush on the rope and the onfield umpire signals for it after consulting the third umpire. Hyderabad end on 160/8!

19.5 4

Varun Aaron to Rashid Khan. FOUR! Full in length around off, Khan goes deep inside the crease and drills it through square leg for a powerful boundary.

19.4 2

Varun Aaron to Rashid Khan. Slower one, on a length on middle, Khan advances down the track to heave it over the leg side but it takes the inside edge and the ball goes to fine leg. Two taken, 150 comes up for Hyderabad!

19.4 wd

Varun Aaron to Rashid Khan. Wide! Drifting down the leg side, Khan swings his bat at it but fails to make any connection.

Siddarth Kaul is the new batsman in.

19.3 W

Varun Aaron to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. OUT! Unadkat with yet another catch in the field, his third to be precise. A slower length ball sliding down the leg side, Kumar tries to flick it off his pads but is early into his shot. It takes the top edge and flies behind square leg. Samson and Unadkat go for it, the latter from short fine leg calls for it and then takes the catch with a tumble.

19.2 4

Varun Aaron to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Four byes! Valuable runs for Hyderabad! Aaron digs in a short ball on middle and leg, Kumar gets inside the bounce and tries to play the ramp shot but misses. The length is a bit on the shorter side around off, the Bangla star tries to pump it over wide long on but fails to connect well. Gopal moves across to his left from long on and makes no mistake this time. He throws the ball out in anguish after that. With this wicket, the chances of Hyderabad going past 150 look dicey.

End of Over : 18 6 Runs SRH: 137/6

End of Over : 17 5 Runs SRH: 131/5
16.6 1

Jaydev Unadkat to Shakib Al Hasan. Walks down the track to a length ball and lofts it over covers for a run. Fantastic going from Rajasthan, they have managed to pick four wickets in the last 5 overs and that has resulted in only 28 runs. Best way to contain runs is by picking wickets. Hence proved.

Jaydev Unadkat to Shakib Al Hasan. Good attempt from Aaron but he fails to hold on to the catch. Slower delivery, around off, Shakib shuffles across the stumps to get inside the line and then tries to play the paddle scoop. He fails to time it well and it flies towards short fine leg. Aaron runs his fingers over the seam of the ball and lets out a slower short ball around off, Shankar stays back to pull it across the line but fails to time it well. 15.4 1

Varun Aaron to Shakib Al Hasan. Shortish and around leg, Shakib jumps back to make room and punches it to sweeper cover for a run. Shankar wants the second run but is sent back. The throw from the deep is at the bowler's end and it gives Vijay the time to return.

Back of a length delivery outside off, Shankar stays back to play at it with a straight bat but gets a big fat outside edge behind. It goes behind and Samson puts in a full length dive to his right. He fails to collect it and the ball gets deflected to third man. The batsmen cross.

Strategic break! Rajasthan are pulling things back nicely here. At one stage it looked like Hyderabad will get to 190 but the loss of Warner followed by the wicket of a well-set Manish Pandey just before the break has put Hyderabad on the back foot. The hosts will now look to make the most of it. Shakib Al Hasan is the new man in.

End of Over : 15 8 Runs SRH: 121/3
14.6 W

Shreyas Gopal to Manish Pandey. OUT! Brilliance from Sanju Samson! The crowd erupts, this is a timely breakthrough for Rajasthan as they have removed the danger man. A googly from Gopal. It lands around off and turns back in. Pandey moves back to play at it late but seems to have missed the ball. He loses his balance a bit after that and Samson is quick to dislodge the bails. He appeals and the square leg umpire goes upstairs as Manish is down. The replays roll in and they find that for a moment, Manish lifted his back leg and at that moment, Sanju flicked the bails off. Pandey will have to go. Hang on, the replays also show that there was an outside edge as Samson collected the ball cleanly. Given as stumping initially but then they changed it to caught behind. A dramatic end to a promising knock.

Stumping appeal has been referred upstairs. Not much excitement shown by the Rajasthan players. Let's see...

Steven Smith immediately rushes across to his right from mid off and dives full length to take a one-handed ripper. Efforts like these just lift the confidence of the entire team. End of a strange knock by Warner which didn't have a single boundary. The 75-run stand is also broken and Rajasthan would hope to capitalize from here.

A boundary results and Oshane screams in disappointment.

Hello and welcome ladies and gentlemen for the coverage of Match 45 between Rajasthan and Hyderabad at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. Gone are the days when the pink team used to be invincible at home as they have clearly lost that grip after winning just the two games out of 6 played here so far this season. As a result, they are languishing at the bottom of the points table and are in a do-or-die situation. Hyderabad, on the other hand, are currently placed in the top 4 but are entering into this match on the back of a loss against Chennai. With the battle for the playoffs intensifying, the touring party won't want to lose any more game and jeopardize their situation. Plenty at stake for both sides, expect a close match.

End of Over : 19.1 RR: 161/3

Done with this game. Looking forward to Sunday where two games are lined up. First up, Delhi will be hosting Bangalore at 1600 local (1030 GMT) followed by the clash between Kolkata and Mumbai at the Eden Gardens at 2000 local (1430 GMT). Do join us for all the action. Cheers!

Adds that catches were sticking to his hands and in the same breath thanks the management for backing him. States that there is clarity of mind and also they assessed the surface well. Mentions that they knew the pitch will slow down after the Powerplay and it's going to get harder to bat.

Rajasthan skipper, Steven Smith starts by saying that he landed on the elbow while taking the catch of Warner and hopes it's fine as it hurt him on the impact. Adds that it's a good end to their home season. Feels that the change in pace did work for them and 160 was around par. Praises Liam Livingstone and Ajinkya Rahane for providing the start and then lauds Sanju Samson for finishing things off. Mentions that it's all about playing together as a group and winning the key moments that they didn't at the start. Wants to keep winning. Says that he has got one more game to go this season before he heads back to Australia and hopes to do well for the team.

Sanju Samson is up for a chat next. He smiles and says that the winning shot was more satisfying. On the nick off Pandey, Samson replies that when Smith asked him he did not feel like there was an edge. Credits the team for showing great character as it's not easy to come out and play like this when you are second last in the league table. He still hopes of qualifying for the playoffs. Appreciates the home crowd and thanks them for coming out in numbers to support them.

Hyderabad skipper, Kane Williamson says that the nature of the surface was such that the new batsman was going to find it difficult. He felt the match was in the balance at the halfway stage. Credits Rajasthan for the way they played. Singles out Manish Pandey's performance and hopes he continues his good form. Tells it is about margins in this format. Admits Rajasthan played well and Hyderabad were looking to squeeze in a wicket or two but were not able to do so. Mentions that he is excited to go back to Hyderabad and wants to play a good game there.

A thumping win for Rajasthan and they have kept themselves in the hunt with back-to-back wins. It can be termed as one of their better performances this season. Their bowling was right on the money after a poor start with everyone contributing equally. Chasing a target of 161, usually you need one good partnership and their new opening pair provided that. Rahane and Livingstone put together a 78-run stand and that nearly put the chase to bed. Agreed, there were a few stutters in between but Rajasthan never got under any kind of pressure. A word of praise for Sanju Samson also, who batted through and stayed unbeaten. With this win, Rajasthan have moved to sixth in the points table and also, Chennai have become the first team to qualify for the playoffs.
