Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Kolkata Knight Riders Highlights And Cricket Score 2nd Match - T20 Commentary

End of Over : 20.0 SRH: 181/3

No Kolkata pair has ever managed to put in a century stand. Could tonight be the night?

How do you feel about the reviews? Did Kolkata use theirs pretty early? How will Bhuvneshwar fare?

Given the way the pitch turned in the first innings, Rashid will hope it turns even more. But dew will be the key. Can he grip the ball?

Andre Russell could have a say at the death too, with the bat that is.

Meanwhile, David Warner is playing his 60th match for Hyderabad. 2664 runs at an average of 53.28, Strike Rate of 148.08, best - 126. A fifty-plus score in every second innings.

Captain Dinesh Karthik is having a chat with Uthappa. Should he sent Uthappa to open?

Siddarth Kaul will be key at the death as well. Can he get those yorkers perfectly with the dew set to come in?

Shakib is closely eyeing Chris Lynn. His record against the Queenslander - 62 balls, 39 runs, 4 wickets.

The required rate is above 9 but Kolkata could do with a set plan - one boundary per over required and even if they need 70 in the last 5, Kolkata will believe they can get them with wickets in hand.

Sandeep Sharma is seen having a long chat with Warner and co. Will he bowl with the new ball? Or directly at the death?

Here he comes. Rashid Khan will have a big say on the run chase for sure.

The camera pans on to Shakib now, as he gets ready to mark his runup. He was not in great form in the last season and would like to make amends. How is that finger though?

The Hyderabad camp is never one with a worry on its face but it might soon be if Lynn and Narine get going. Having said that, Narine does not do too well against Hyderabad...

Sandeep Sharma marks his run up as well.

The Hyderabad bowlers are doing some throwdowns. Will there be dew?

182 to win then. Do Hyderabad have enough? Or will Kolkata chase it down? The answer is on the other side...

Warner says that they did not want to hit from ball 1 initially but got off to a great start. Then, they had to reassess. Says that he is chirpy and did not feel like he missed the dressing room much. Credits his doctors in New South Wales for enabling him to recover quickly from his shoulder injury. Wants his bowlers to strike with the new ball and swing it hard. On Kolkata's bowling, Warner feels that it is not extremely difficult to score against their spinners but if you lose wickets then you need to reassess.

For now, the talk of the town is David Warner. His flamboyant 85 from 53 balls took the wind out of Kolkata's sails. He never looked like he was out of touch and flayed the attack without much fuss. Hyderabad will be buoyed with his form and here he is, talking to Michael Clarke.

The yorkers found their mark, slower ones were being disguised nicely and just 37 runs came in the last 25 balls.

Not a bad score from Hyderabad but given that they were 144/1 in the 16th over, they will feel they are 20 short. Kolkata were mostly not that great with the ball or in the field when Warner was batting but once he was dismissed, they came back strongly.

19.6 2

Lockie Ferguson to Vijay Shankar. SAFE AS A HOUSE. Short and outside off, Shankar plays it through point and immediately calls for the second. The throw comes in from Gill at sweeper cover and it is at a nice height to Dinesh Karthik who knocks the bails off. The appeal is referred upstairs but replays confirm that the second run is counted. HYDERABAD FINISH ON 181/3!

RUN OUT? Good throw from Shubman Gill but no signs of confidence from Dinesh Karthik. Referred upstairs...

19.5 2

Lockie Ferguson to Vijay Shankar. Full and outside off, slapped straight back over the bowler for a couple.

Lockie Ferguson to Manish Pandey. Outside off, played through point for a single.

Lockie Ferguson to bowl the final over. Can Hyderabad touch 190?

End of Over : 19 12 Runs SRH: 170/3
18.6 4

Prasidh Krishna to Vijay Shankar. FOUR! Absolute precision. A full length delivery on leg, Vijay Shankar flicks it down the leg through the gap between short fine leg and square leg. Another boundary added to the score.

18.5 0

Prasidh Krishna to Vijay Shankar. NOT OUT! Missing leg! That is a good review from Shankar but this is what happens due to this rule. The batsman is not out but the single that he took, will not be counted as the ball becomes dead after the batsman is adjudged out. A full toss, down the leg side, Vijay misses his flick and is hit on the pads. The bowler appeals and the umpire, after taking a long time, raises his finger. Vijay immediately takes the review and the Hawk Eye takes a long time to come up too. Eventually, NOT OUT is conveyed.

Adjudged LBW! But review taken. Looks to be going down leg.

18.4 0

Prasidh Krishna to Vijay Shankar. Play and a miss. Full outside off, Shankar tries to put his bat to the ball but fails.

18.3 6

Prasidh Krishna to Vijay Shankar. SIX! 'That is creamed right off the middle', quips Brett Lee on air. A length ball outside off, slower in pace, Shankar spots it, gives himself room to the leg side and sends it sailing over long on!

End of Over : 18 9 Runs SRH: 158/3
17.6 4

Andre Russell to Manish Pandey. FOUR! Good shot that! A slower one this time from Russell, pitching short on off, Manish Pandey clears his front leg and strikes it with precision, piercing the gap between extra cover and mid on.

17.5 1

Andre Russell to Vijay Shankar. Full on off, Vijay Shankar drives it to the extra cover fielder and runs a single.

17.4 1

Andre Russell to Manish Pandey. A short delivery on off, Manish Pandey ramps down to the third man region for a single.

Manish Pandey walks in at number 5, replacing Pathan.

17.3 W

Andre Russell to Yusuf Pathan. OUT! KNOCKED HIM OVER! Might be a blessing in disguise for Hyderabad. Yusuf Pathan is not a rapid starter and with the balls left in the innings, he needed to get going almost immediately, which he struggles to do. This is a slower delivery, beautifully disguised but Pathan does not pick it at all. He is months early into his flick and the ball arrives much late, goes past the bat and ignites the Zinc bails.

17.2 1

16.2 0

Lockie Ferguson to Yusuf Pathan. A terrific yorker on middle, Pathan can only dig it out towards the bowler.

16.1 1

Lockie Ferguson to Vijay Shankar. Full and wide outside off, blasted through the covers for a single.

Strategic break - Wicket just at the end there and the dangerous Warner is back in the hut. Kolkata will be hoping that this can put some brakes on the scoring and restrict Hyderabad under 190. Hyderabad meanwhile would be hoping that their big hitters can make full use of the platform set by Warner and take the score past the 200-run mark. Yusuf Pathan will bat after the break.

End of Over : 16 10 Runs SRH: 144/2
15.6 W

Andre Russell to David Warner. OUT! Caught! Hyderabad have lost their second wicket. Warner falls this time. 14.6 1

Prasidh Krishna to David Warner. Full on leg, Warner works down the leg side for a quick single.

14.5 1

Prasidh Krishna to Vijay Shankar. A full length delivery on middle and leg, Shankar flicks it down the mid on region for a single.

14.4 1

Prasidh Krishna to David Warner. A short pitch delivery on off, Warner cuts it the point region for a single.

14.3 0

Prasidh Krishna to David Warner. Play and a miss. Change of pace from Prasidh. Warner looks to pull it away but gets beaten by the slowness of the pitch. Dot ball this. A very crucial one.

Sunil Narine to Vijay Shankar. In the air... but in no man's land. Flighted on off, Shankar is early in his loft over covers. He does not time it well but falls way short of the fielder in the deep. 2 runs taken.

13.2 1

Sunil Narine to David Warner. In the air...but safe. Full and wide outside off, Warner looks to slash it through covers but gets a thick outside edge. The ball falls short of short third man. Single taken.

13.1 0

Sunil Narine to David Warner. Shorter and spinning away from the southpaw. Warner looks to cut it but misses.

Narine is back on.

End of Over : 13 6 Runs SRH: 118/1
12.6 0

Piyush Chawla to Vijay Shankar. Full on middle and leg, Shankar pushes it to mid-wicket. Dot to finish the over. 6 runs and a wicket off this one.

Vijay Shankar walks in at number 3, replacing Bairstow.

12.5 W

Piyush Chawla to Jonny Bairstow. OUT! Bowled! Finally some respite for the bowlers. Googly pitching just outside off, Bairstow looks to flat bat it through covers but misses it completely. 11.4 1

Lockie Ferguson to David Warner. IS THAT ANOTHER DROP? Looks to be so. Down the leg side. A short delivery outside leg, Warner attempting a pull get his gloves and Dinesh behind the stumps drops it down. Warner grabs a single. It all looked that Warner didn't get any part on that ball, but replays shows that the ball just kisses his gloves before flying down to Dinesh Karthik. Well that will be counted as dropped chance.

11.3 2

Lockie Ferguson to David Warner. Terrific running. A high full toss, down the leg side, David works it through square leg and even with the fielder charging in, he outcharges him for the second.

He plays an upper cut to the third man region and the ball goes above the boundary ropes! Warner raises his bat towards the pavilion and acknowledges the reception from the crowd.

Looks like Narine has some damage to his finger. HE IS GOING OFF THE FIELD. Doesn't look in too much discomfort but then, Sunil is not the best at emoting, is he...

7.1 1

Sunil Narine to David Warner. Shorter ball on off, Warner cuts it towards point and gets to the other end.

The first strategic break of the match. Hyderabad are going along merrily but the bowling has not been great either. There is nothing in the pitch and the bowlers need to try and bowl consistent lines to at least stem the run flow.

Replays roll in and show there was an inside edge.

Another review! This time by Hyderabad. Bairstow has been adjudged LBW! Has Chawla struck gold this time? Is there an inside edge? Is it missing leg? Jonny signalled for the review immediately...

End of Over : 3 9 Runs SRH: 25/0

On the pitch, Chris says that it looks a belter but wants his bowlers to strike early. On the crowd support, Lynn says that it is nice to have no matches at neutral venues this season. He admires the crowd here at Eden. On his own injury to his right shoulder, Chris says that he is not 100 percent fit, preferring to throw with his left shoulder but is doing okay. On the mindset heading into the tournament, Lynn reckons that Kolkata is a champion team and it will take only a couple of weeks for the team to adjust itself.

2.1 1

Prasidh Krishna to Jonny Bairstow. Full toss on the pads, Bairstow flicks it to the fielder at deep square leg for a single. Missed out on an opportunity here.

Prasidh Krishna to David Warner. Good length delivery on the pads, Warner just flicks it towards backward square leg and keeps the strike. 8 off the first.

Oops... the physio comes out to the middle with a laugh. Nothing anyone can do when you are hit on the box but here is the reason for the laughter. Bairstow's abdomen guard has a crack and he is getting changed.

0.5 1

Prasidh Krishna to Jonny Bairstow. A length delivery on leg, Jonny was looking it to heave to the leg side. Gets an inside edge onto his unmentionables. He runs a single though. Leg bye signalled in fact.

0.5 1

Shakib Al Hasan rings the traditional bell at the Eden Gardens. The Kolkata players get into a huddle. Now, they are ready to get going. Out walk the Hyderabad openers with their weapons of mass destruction. Why do we say so? Because, their names are... David Warner and Jonny Bairstow. Prasidh Krishna to start off with the new ball. Warner to face...

Hyderabad captain, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, says that he has three spinners in the side, so is looking forward to bat first and get a defendable total. Is disappointed to lose Kane Williamson for today but is more than happy to get David Warner back in the side.

Kolkata skipper, Dinesh Karthik, reckons the wicket will play even throughout the game and hence they want to chase. States that the team is prepared well enough but feels that it is a long tournament and so, wants to take one game at a time.

TOSS - Time for the spin of the coin. It is not Kane Williamson or David Warner walking alongside Dinesh Karthik. It is Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who is filling in for the injured Willy. Heads is the call from Bhuvi, but it is a Tail. Kolkata opt to CHASE.

WEATHER REPORT - It is scorching hot and the temperatures are soaring. The humidity is high too. The players would be waiting for the sun to set soon.

Hello and welcome for match 2 of this edition's Indian T20 League. Eden Gardens is all set to host its first game of this season. Last season's runner's up Hyderabad are the visitors today. Kolkata will look to take revenge for last season's loss in the eliminator. We expect a cracker of a contest. Stay tuned for updates as the action is not far away.

End of Over : 19.4 KKR: 183/4

That is all we have for you from this game. But do not go anywhere. The Mumbai-Delhi encounter has already begun...

Who will be the Man Of The Match? Andre Russell? Or Nitish Rana? ANDRE RUSSELL has been given the award.

A tough outing for all the bowlers but perhaps the dew came into play. Only Rashid Khan was at his best but Kolkata played him out well - just 1 wicket for 26 runs.

Hyderabad will be bitterly disappointed. They had the match in their grasp but let it slip towards the end very badly. The 18th over went for 19 by Kaul. The 19th went for 21 by Bhuvi. And Hyderabad could not recover at all. It was all Andre Russell magic, as he clobbered a 19-ball 49, staying unbeaten, with 4 fours and 4 sixes. Rana and Uthappa played their part, not letting the wickets fall and the match slip too much. However, had Hyderabad hung on to that chance of Uthappa, they might have come out trumps.

Phew. What a match. Unbelievable scenes at Eden. At the end of the 16th over in the first innings, Kolkata seemed down and out, with Hyderabad ready to touch 200. They pulled it back. At the end of the 16th over in the second innings, Kolkata seemed down and out again, needing 59 from the final 4 overs. But the end is what matters.

19.4 6

It spins back in slightly to beat Rana's bat and hits him on the pads. They appeal and the finger goes up. Nitish has a chat with his partner but decides not to take the referral. He is off. A big blow to Kolkata.

Welcome back after the break. In fact, we have not resumed. The light towers have still not come back to normal and the PLAYERS ARE WALKING OFF. All the lights have been turned off and are being switched back on. 6 MINUTES - indicates umpire Chaudhury. We are going into overtime.

Oops... what has happened? One of the light towers has stopped functioning. The umpires have sensibly signalled for the strategic break. Kolkata are probably finding themselves in troubled waters here. 64 needed from 28 balls but with Russell, Gill and Narine to come, they will back themselves.
