Kolkata Knight Riders vs Delhi Capitals Highlights And Cricket Score 10th Match - T20 Commentary
187 to win then. Looks to be out of reach for Delhi. But dew seems to have made its presence. That might change the equation a little bit. Just to assert - the Delhi team also has people who can tonk the ball around. Stay tuned...
Andre Russell is caught down for a chat with Rohan Gavaskar. The West Indian says that he is proud to become the highest scorer and it was very crucial to get this knock. Him and Dinesh Kathik decided that they will play and hit when the bad balls are bowled. Admits that the blow on the shoulder was a painful one but he just backed himself and hit the shots. Says at one point they were thinking of 150 but 186 is a good total and hopes the bowler can defend it.
The big man went down but then what followed was a thunderstorm. He started pummeling the bowlers and finished on 62 from 28 balls, with 4 fours and 6 sixes. Do not forget the contribution of skipper Karthik. He came in at 40/3 and was there till the 19th over, scoring 50 himself. In a stand of 95 with Dre Russ, DK scored 27.
An innings of two halves. First saw the visitors complete total harakiri, throwing their wickets away and being reduced to 61/5, amidst some careless batting. But then came Andre Russell and he started to go bang bang. In next to no time, the 50-run stand was raised. And then, Russell got hit on the shoulder.
64/5 in the first 10 overs. Advantage Delhi. 121/3 in the next 10. Massive momentum swing. This man Andre Russell is just the reason why Kolkata could prove the team to beat this season.
Kagiso Rabada to Piyush Chawla. OUT! A run out to end the innings. A length ball on middle, Chawla swings hard but mistimes it to long on. He is happy with the single but Kuldeep wants the second. Chawla is ball-watching and suddenly turns around to see Kuldeep charging towards him. He starts to run and Kuldeep responds too but by then, Dhawan returns a good throw to the bowler who disturbs the bails. The batsmen do not even cross each other. A run and a run out on the final ball. KOLKATA FINISH ON 185/8!
Kagiso Rabada to Piyush Chawla. FOUR! Rabada is losing his radar here. Follows the batsman down the leg side with a short ball and Chawla blindly pulls it past the diving fine leg fielder.
Kagiso Rabada to Kuldeep Yadav. Excellent bowling, fired in the blockhole, Kuldeep just about digs it out to fine leg. A run taken.
Kagiso Rabada to Kuldeep Yadav. Backs away to the leg side and swings it towards deep mid-wicket for another brace.
Kagiso Rabada to Kuldeep Yadav. A short ball, slammed towards mid off where Shreyas Iyer misfields and concedes the second.
Kagiso Rabada to Kuldeep Yadav. FOUR! 'You expect better from Rabada. That really is sloppy bowling,' says an angry Kevin Pietersen on air. A low full toss outside off, Kuldeep backs away and steers it behind point!
Kagiso Rabada to bowl the 20th over.
Amit Mishra to Piyush Chawla. Tossed up ball on middle, PC goes for the sweep but gets it off the toe end of the bat and the ball rolls to the on side.
Amit Mishra to Kuldeep Yadav. Full ball on middle, Kuldeep plays the reverse sweep to point and takes a run.
Kuldeep Yadav is the new man in.
Amit Mishra to Dinesh Karthik. OUT! Karthik walks. Good catch by Pant. Short and wide outside off, spinning further away, Karthik reaches out to cut but misses. Pant starts to appeal but DK walks and shows sportsmanship. You cannot underestimate his knock, he played the perfect support to Russell's power-hitting.
Amit Mishra to Dinesh Karthik. SIX! BOOM! And that's his Fifty as well! His 17th in the Indian T20 League. Full and around middle and leg, Karthik gets down and mows the slog sweep over backward square leg!
Amit Mishra to Dinesh Karthik. WIDE. Bowls this down the leg side, Karthik misses his flick.
Amit Mishra to Piyush Chawla. Guides this one to the third man region for a single.
Amit Mishra to Piyush Chawla. SIX! What a way to get off the mark! Mishra bowls a tossed up ball on middle, Piyush gets on his knees and sends it sailing into the mid-wicket stands.
Chris Morris to Dinesh Karthik. Bowls a full ball on the pads and going down, it clips Karthik's pads and goes to the keeper.
Piyush Chawla is the new man in.
Chris Morris to Andre Russell. OUT! That ends a fantastic innings from Dre Russ. A monumental knock ends. Lasted just 28 balls but was worth the fun. A short ball outside off, Russell swings hard but gets a top edge. Kagiso Rabada runs back from short fine leg while Rahul Tewatia runs in from deep square leg. They collide but eventually Tewatia takes the catch. Thanks for the entertainment, Russ...
Chris Morris to Andre Russell. FOUR! Lovely batting! Full ball on off, Russell opens the bat face and guides it uppishly over the point fielder for a boundary. Lovely batting here from the West Indian.
Chris Morris to Andre Russell. Russell plays the pull-shot at mid-wicket. The fielder in the deep throws it to the keeper and the keeper collects it and hits the stumps but the batsman is well home. The Umpire takes the help of the Third Umpire. Third Umpire shows the green signal for the batsman.
Chris Morris to Andre Russell. FOUR! Hammered! Morris bowls it full and on off, Andree pulls it to mid-wicket. The ball raced away to the fence like a bullet.
Chris Morris to Dinesh Karthik. Excellent yorker to begin with! Karthik digs it out but falls apart in hitting it. He hits it to mid-wicket and takes a run. Run out chance at the non-striker's end but the throw was not accurate.
Morris switches ends.
Kagiso Rabada to Dinesh Karthik. Full and outside off, eased through the covers for a run.
Kagiso Rabada to Dinesh Karthik. Excellent yorker on middle, pushed towards cover.
Kagiso Rabada to Andre Russell. On middle and leg, worked to the leg side for a run.
Kagiso Rabada to Andre Russell. FOUR! HALF CENTURY FOR RUSSELL! In just 23 balls. His 5th such score in the Indian T20 League. Short and outside off, Russell swings hard and gets it over mid-wicket, one bounce and into the fence!
Kagiso Rabada to Dinesh Karthik. Excellent yorker outside off, dabbed towards cover for a single.
Kagiso Rabada to Dinesh Karthik. MIX-UP, SAFE! This could have been disastrous for Kolkata. On a good length outside off, Karthik dabs it towards short third man and sets off for a single. But then he changes his mind. Russell though, is halfway down the track and has to go back. Luckily for him, Lamichhane at short third man fires it really wide of the bowler and Dre Russ gets back.
Kagiso Rabada returns. 2-0-20-1 so far.
Harshal Patel to Andre Russell. SIX! That's into the orbit! New ball please, this one is out of here. Well, if you have seen Russell in the last two games in the death overs, you would know that you don't bowl there to him. Patel bowls a length delivery on middle, Russell goes through with his swing and sends it sailing into the deep mid-wicket stands.
Harshal Patel to Andre Russell. WIDE. Pressure on the bowler. Bowls it wide outside off, Russell jumps across, initially looking to hit it but then lets it be.
Harshal Patel to Andre Russell. SIX! BLUDGEONED! Number 5 for Russell. Do not bowl it there to him. Length. Outside off. Cannon. Missile speed. Powered over long on. What a hit.
Harshal Patel to Dinesh Karthik. Short ball outside off, Karthik pulls it to the on side. The fielder at deep mid-wicket gets to it and they take a single.
Harshal Patel to Andre Russell. Length ball on off, Russell swings his bat but doesn't connect well and the ball goes to deep mid-wicket for a single.
Harshal Patel to Dinesh Karthik. A short ball, pulled to deep mid-wicket for a single.
Harshal Patel to Dinesh Karthik. FOUR! BEAUTY! There is a giant at the other end while here this guy is a peace-maker. What a gentle caressing shot. Overpitched outside off, Karthik leans and drives it through the covers!
Harshal Patel is back on. 3-0-20-2 so far.
Chris Morris to Andre Russell. SIX! That's a maximum! This one is in Russell's arc and he hits it straight out of the park. Morris bowls a full ball on middle and Russell hits it off the middle of the bat and over the bowler's head. You don't bowl there to him.
Chris Morris to Andre Russell. FOUR! Leg byes! Strays down the leg side , Russell looks to flick but just gets hit on the pads and the ball races to fine leg fence.
Another problem. This time for the bowler. Morris has pulled out of his delivery stride. He just stands there mid-pitch, on his haunches, before the umpire asks him of his well-being. He gingerly gets up and then shakes his head as he walks back. Shreyas Iyer asks him whether he is fine and he initially says yes but then calls for the physio. Looks to be an ankle sprain. Replays show that Chris landed very awkwardly on his right ankle while about to deliver the ball. MORRIS IS FIT TO CONTINUE NOW...
Chris Morris to Andre Russell. FOUR! That is unlucky for Morris. A terrific yorker, outside off, Russell is late to get his bat down and gets an inside edge. But, it zips past the stumps to the fine leg fence!
Chris Morris to Dinesh Karthik. Length ball on off, Karthik guides it to third man for a run.
Chris Morris to Andre Russell. Short and on off, Russell pulls it to wide of deep mid-wicket and scores a run.
Chris Morris to Dinesh Karthik. Full ball on off, Karthik drives it straight to long on for a run.
Common sense prevails. With the batsman being not too comfortable yet, the second strategic break has been signalled. This particular event could have a telling blow on either side. If Russell does not recover, Kolkata might struggle to get to even 150. On the flip side, if Dre Russ recovers, beware Delhi - 101/5 could end up at 181/5. CHRIS MORRIS IS BACK ON. 2-0-11-0 so far.
There is a bit of a delay here. Russell is not at all comfortable. The physio is out in the middle, giving him a bit of a rub on the left shoulder. The umpires are having a chat with Karthik, probably asking the physio to hurry up.
Harshal Patel to Dinesh Karthik. Another short ball on off, DK pulls it to mid-wicket and keeps the strike for the next over.
Harshal Patel to Andre Russell. 100 up for Kolkata! Harshal bowls a full ball but it seems the ball got stuck on the pitch and came in slower. Russell looked to drive but it goes uppishly through the covers to long off and they take a run.
Harshal Patel to Dinesh Karthik. Full ball on the pads, Karthik flicks it to the on side and takes a run.
Harshal Patel to Andre Russell. FREE HIT! Short ball outside off, Russell pulls it hard but straight to the fielder at deep mid-wicket who takes the catch but it is a Free Hit so one run scored.
FREE HIT time...
Harshal Patel to Andre Russell. OOPS! Russell is down! My word... that was a bullet to a tank. Fired from Harshal, a high full toss but it is totally out of control. Dre Russ loses sight of it completely, tries to fend it but misses it totally. He is hit on the left shoulder and is straightaway down, wincing in pain. Half the Delhi team is beside him, calming him but the bowler is busy arguing with the umpire as to how can that be a no ball. But the umpire is firm and signals it a no ball. Meanwhile, the physio is out in the middle...
Harshal Patel to Andre Russell. In the slot. Full and wide outside off, Russell swings hard but misses.

Amit Mishra to Dinesh Karthik. Tossed up on off, Karthik punches it down the ground for a single.
Amit Mishra to Dinesh Karthik. FOUR! Lovely timing. This outfield is lightning quick. Full on middle, Karthik leans and flicks it through mid-wicket. Once the ball makes contact with the turf, it just races away.
Amit Mishra to Dinesh Karthik. Starts with a gentle leg spinner outside off, guided to point by DK.
Sandeep Lamichhane to Andre Russell. SIX! Colossal! Russell is changing the tempo pretty quickly here. Tossed up outside off, brave enough from Lamichhane but Russell does not spare him. Leans and sends this flying over long off! 17 from the over. Also, RUSSELL GETS TO THE 1K MARK IN THE INDIAN T20 LEAGUE!
Sandeep Lamichhane to Andre Russell. SIX! Don't think he middled that at all but doesn't matter. That is Dre Russ' power. Full and around middle, Russell looks to swing hard but the ball goes off the inner half of the bat. Clears deep mid-wicket!
Sandeep Lamichhane to Dinesh Karthik. Leg spinner on the pads, DK flicks it to the on side and gives Russell the strike.

Andre Russell walks in at number 7, replacing Gill.
Sandeep Lamichhane to Shubman Gill. OUT! That is a run out! Rabada is clean and Gill is out of here. Kolkata now have half their side back in the hut. Lamichhane tosses it up outside off, Gill squirts it past point. The batsman run two. Rabada makes good ground to his left and stops it with a dive. The pacer is slow in getting up. Gill hence feels it is a boundary, Karthik though sets off for a third as there is no signal from the umpire. Gill goes for it late. By then, Rabada throws it to Patel who was the second fielder after it from point. He then throws it to Sandeep who whips the bails off and appeals. The umpire takes it upstairs but first they want to check if Rabada's stop is clean. That is okay. They then move onto see if Gill is short and he is. Delhi are ecstatic and Kolkata are in big trouble here.
Is that a boundary? Is that a run out? Delhi are appealing for a run out against Gill but all that will be waste if Rabada's leg has touched the ropes. Referred upstairs...
Strategic break. Wow. An action-packed 9 overs so far. Delhi have stunned Kolkata, taking 4 big wickets but such is the line-up of Kolkata, that there are more to come! Karthik and Gill will be looking to get a partnership going and then set Russell loose to get the firecrackers ablaze. Here comes Sandeep Lamichhane. 2-0-7-1 so far.

Shubman Gill eventually comes out to bat at number 6, replacing Rana.
Harshal Patel to Nitish Rana. OUT! Caught! Another wicket goes down and Harshal has his second. Guess what, he is on a hat-trick too, as he dismissed Uthappa on his previous delivery of his previous over. This is a bonus wicket though. A length ball, angled down the leg side, Rana just guides it through backward square leg. But to his dismay, he finds Kagiso Rabada running to his right from fine leg and snapping it! Kolkata are in a mire now, finding themselves at 44/4!

Dinesh Karthik walks in at number 5, replacing Lynn.

Chris Morris to Robin Uthappa. Bowls a full ball angling in, Uthappa drives it straight to mid on and takes a run.
Sandeep Lamichhane to Robin Uthappa. Now eases this down to long on and keeps strike for the next over. A successful over comes to an end.
Sandeep Lamichhane to Robin Uthappa. FOUR! Off the mark in style! This is floated up around off, it is a little too full. Uthappa leans into it and strokes it through cover-point for a boundary.
Robin Uthappa is the new man in.
Sandeep Lamichhane to Nikhil Naik. OUT! No bat, three reds and Naik takes a review along with him. Not sure why he took that review as you would always know if you have hit the ball or not as a batsman and this time there was day-light between bat and ball. The googly on off, it pitches and turns back in. Nail lunges forward to defend but misses. The ball hits him on the pad and an appeal follows. The umpire after a thought raises his finger. Naik reviews immediately. Replays show that the on-field call is a right one. So a short stay for the new opener.
A review this time by Kolkata! Naik has been adjudged LBW but he has reviewed. Only an inside edge can save him.

Sandeep Lamichhane to Nikhil Naik. Flatter and on off, Naik blocks it out. A maiden?
Sandeep Lamichhane to Nikhil Naik. NOT OUT! That is a long way away from the bat! A shocker of a review there and Delhi have lost their only review in as early as the second over. The leggie this time and it is outside off. Naik looks to guide it down to third man but he seems to have missed it. Pant takes it and appeals. The umpire shakes his head. Pant convinces his captain to take it upstairs and he does so. Replays roll in and they show there is absolutely nothing.
Review time! A huge appeal for a caught behind but the umpire heard nothing. Delhi though have reviewed.

Kagiso Rabada to Chris Lynn. FOUR! Pure timing that! Finesses from Lynn. You do not normally see that. Second boundary in the over. Fuller in length and around off, Lynn leans into it and strokes it through covers.
Kagiso Rabada to Chris Lynn. EDGED BUT SHORT! Maybe the first slip fielder is a little too deep on a slow wicket. Length and around off, Lynn plays it with an open face. The ball though goes off the outside edge and Dhawan takes it on the bounce.
Kagiso Rabada to Nikhil Naik. Now opens the face of the bat and nicely guides it down to third man for a single.
Kagiso Rabada to Nikhil Naik. Goes back to bowling length around off, Naik makes a leave.
Kagiso Rabada to Nikhil Naik. WIDE! The outswinger this time but it is way outside off. Wided.
Kagiso Rabada to Nikhil Naik. FOUR! A boundary to begin proceedings! A stroke of luck there for Naik. A length delivery and around off, this one comes back in. Naik looks to defend but it goes off the inside edge, past the off pole and to the fine leg boundary.

Informs they have 4 changes, Sandeep Lamichanne, Chris Morris, Harshal Patel and Hanuma Vihari come in.
TOSS - Delhi win the toss and they elect to field!
A few minutes before there was some rain and the pitch was covered. But it seems everything is clear now and the match will begin on time.
Hello and a warm welcome to everyone! It is the second match of this Saturday double-header where Delhi are hosting Kolkata. The visitors come here with two wins in as many games. Their last game saw them getting a comfortable victory over Punjab and they will be confident in making it three in three. Delhi, on the other hand, have had a one-one win-loss ratio. They started their campaign with a win but suffered a defeat to the defending champions in their second game. They would want to forget that and get back to the winning ways. A great contest awaits us here. Stay tuned for the toss.
Wow. End of a lonnggggggggggggggggggg Super Saturday. First, Punjab trumped Mumbai in Mohali. And then a simple equation was turned into a complex mathematical formula as Delhi almost snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Super Sunday sees Hyderabad host Bangalore at 4 pm local (1030 GMT) followed by the Chennai-Rajasthan encounter at Chepauk at 8 pm local (1430 GMT). So take rest and come back again to enjoy your Sunday! ADIOS! TAKE CARE!
PRITHVI SHAW HAS BEEN NAMED THE MAN OF THE MATCH. On his reaction after his dismissal, Shaw says that he felt that he missed out on an opportunity on finishing the game for his side. Is happy that they eventually won the Super Over. On the talks from the senior members in the first strategic break. Prithvi says that Ponting and Ganguly made him realize that he was perhaps going too hard early on and asked him to settle down, which helped him a lot. On the plans during the chase, Shaw says that the ball was turning and Chawla and Kuldeep were bowling well, so he and Iyer were initially looking to milk singles and then go for the big hits.
Victorious Delhi captain, Shreyas Iyer, admits that it was a long day in office and the game should have been done in the 19th or the 20th over. Praises Kuldeep Yadav for taking the game into the Super Over. On Delhi letting it slip after having Kolkata 5 down pretty early, Iyer puts it down to Russell mania, where one simply cannot control if the lines to him are not perfect. On his team's batting, Shreyas says that the top 4 needed to step up and they did. Praises Shaw for playing a wonderful innings and hopes he does this every game. Is happy that youngsters in the team are performing well. On Rabada's Super Over, Iyer says that the pace with which he bowls makes it difficult to hit him. Informs that when the management went to Rabada to inform him that he will bowl the Super Over, Kagiso promised that he would bowl yorkers and after missing the first 2, he got them right on the money.
Kagiso Rabada's turn to have a chat now. Smiles and says that Delhi were not sure who was going to bowl that Super Over till the final moment. Adds that he just saw a last-minute simulation and it paid off. On keeping calm in tense situations, Rabada says that one has to keep his wits about him to be clear and back one's plans.
Kolkata skipper, Dinesh Karthik, feels it was a great game but he is happy with how his team fought back and took it to the Super Over. Reckons the old ball was easy to hit but the new ball was difficult.
Prasidh Krishna was given the responsibility of bowling the Super Over and he did extremely well as he only conceded 10. Chasing a target of 11, it was Russell and Karthik who opened but failed to score the runs required.
The Delhi batters however, came out all guns blazing. They did lose Dhawan early but Shreyas Iyer, their skipper, led from the front and Shaw proved his mettle. The two blasted a massive 89-run stand before the captain was dismissed. Shaw though continued tonking the bowlers and the hosts had the game in their pocket as they needed on 18 in 18. That is from where the game turned though. Kuldeep bowled a terrific 18th over, giving away only 3 runs. Shaw's wicket then revived the hopes of the Kolkata camp and a tremendous last over saw the game head into the Super Over.
Now then, the game firstly should have never come to this point. Delhi were cruising, first they had Kolkata down and out with the ball 61 for 5 but a tremendous recovery courtesy their skipper and Russell with both scoring half tons saw them post a total which all believed to be above par.
Rabada has done it! The Delhi players are pumped up. What a bowler, what an over. When 11 was needed you surely would have backed Kolkata with the fire power they had but it was Rabada who held his nerves, showed why he is one of the best going around and has ensured the home fans will go home with a smile on their face.
Ball 6: K Rabada to R Uthappa, 1 run. DELHI WIN BY 3 RUNS! Shreyas Iyer is pumped up. So is Rabada. A full toss, outside off, Uthappa can only punch it down to long off for a single!
Ball 5: K Rabada to D Karthik, 1 run. A very low full toss on middle and off, Karthik paddles it but there is man at fine leg who runs to his right and saves the boundary with a slide. 5 needed from the final ball. Even if it is a boundary, Kolkata will win because they scored 26 boundaries overall, as compared to Delhi's 26 but hit 9 sixes to Delhi's 6.
Ball 4: K Rabada to R Uthappa, 1 run. Not a lot you can do with that. A yorker on off, Uthappa jams it out towards point for a run. 6 in 2.
Robbie Uthappa comes out to bat.
Ball 3: K Rabada to A Russell, OUT! BOWLED! The middle stump has gone for a walk! 4/1, 3 balls. 7 needed. What a ball. A perfect yorker, at the base of middle, Russell backs away, aiming to go off side but misses. The LED bails illuminate and Delhi are a wicket away from a win!
Ball 2: K Rabada to A Russell, 0 runs. Brilliant yorker on leg, Russell cannot do anything but just jam it out. Perfect execution from Rabada.
Ball 1: K Rabada to A Russell. FOUR. A good delivery but an excellent shot. A boundary to begin with. A low full toss on the pads, it is flicked through square leg for a boundary.
10 runs is what Delhi have managed! Kolkata will surely be the happier side now. Just the one bad ball bowled by Prasidh Krishna which was hit for a boundary, on the rest of the deliveries, he was spot on with his variation. Pant never got hit timing right and the question can surely be raised, why wasn't Shaw sent out to bat. Now though it is on their bowlers to defend this but it will be the visitors who would be the favorites. It is a no-brainier as Russell is the one walking out, the question is who would partner him? Dinesh Karthik? Chris Lynn? Well, it is the former, the skipper is leading from the front and taken the onus onto him. The West Indian will be on strike and he will face Rabada.
Ball 6: P Krishna to R Pant, 1 run. DELHI FINISH ON 10/1. Terrific bowling from Prasidh Krishna. Full and outside off, pretty wide and slower in pace, Pant looks to play the reverse sweep but only gets a top edge. The ball lands in front of Dinesh Karthik.
Ball 5: P Krishna to R Pant, 2 runs, Slower and shorter in length. Pant gets no timing behind it as he pulls it through mid-wicket and runs two.
Ball 4: P Krishna to R Pant, 2 runs. Full and wide outside off, Pant reaches out and slices it over cover. Chawla gets across from wide long off and keeps the batsmen to a couple.
Ball 3: P Krishna to S Iyer, OUT! In the air.. taken! Iyer holes out. Prasidh corrects his line and length as he bowls it full and on off. The ball was there to be hit but Iyer does not get the timing behind it. Ends up hitting it high up in the air towards long off. Chawla settles under it and takes it.
Ball 2: P Krishna to S Iyer, FOUR! Poor bowling. Short and down the leg side, Iyer gets across and just helps it to the fine leg fence! 2 BALLS, 5 RUNS!
Ball 1: P Krishna to Pant, 1 run, Pant pulls the short ball to deep mid-wicket. A single to begin.
Delhi have thrown it away and out of the blues Kolkata have taken this to the Super Over. 18 were required off 18 but Delhi have somehow lost the plot. Pant played a few reckless shot before giving his wicket away. Shaw after a tremendous innings was unfortunate to miss out on a top by a run. 6 were needed in the last over and Kuldeep and it was Kuldeep who held his nerve and given Kolkata another change to take all two points. Now it is the hosts who will batting first as they were batting second. The two batsmen walking out are Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant. Prasidh Krishna is given the responsibility to bowl it.
Kuldeep Yadav to Colin Ingram. OUT! RUN OUT! We have a SUPER OVER! Ingram sweeps it through square leg. They taken one and then they have to go for the second which is just not on. Uthappa picks the ball up and throws it to the keeper who collects it and whips the bails off.
Chris Morris is the new man in. He won't be on strike though. 2 required off 1 ball. Is this going to the Super Over or does Ingram finish it?
Kuldeep Yadav to Hanuma Vihari. OUT! VIHARI HOLES OUT! 2 needed in 1 now. Kuldeep bowls it slightly short and it is the googly. Hanuma looks to pull it against the turn but does not get it off the middle. It goes towards Gill at deep mid-wicket who takes it with ease.
Kuldeep Yadav to Colin Ingram. Shorter ball on off, Ingram smacks it to long off gets only a single this time. 2 in 2. This is nail biting stuff.
Kuldeep Yadav to Colin Ingram. A dot! This is exciting stuff! A beautiful delivery! Tossed up on off, it pitches and then turns away. Ingram tries to fend at it somehow but misses.
Kuldeep Yadav to Colin Ingram. A run out chance missed! Pressure, pressure getting to the left-arm leg spinner. Intgram first looks to paddle but then sees the line is outside off. He slaps it through covers. They take one and go for the second. Rinku Singh the substitute throws it to Kuldeep who fails to collect it. Had he done so, Vihari was a goner.
Kuldeep Yadav to Hanuma Vihari. Fires this one on off, Vihari goes back and works this through mid-wicket for a single. 5 from 5, 5 more singles like this will do it.
Lockie Ferguson to Hanuma Vihari. Back of a length delivery outside off, Vihari keeps the strike by stroking it towards point. 6 needed off the last over.
Lockie Ferguson to Colin Ingram. Now a single. Good length ball on off, Ingram pushes it towards cover for a single.
Lockie Ferguson to Colin Ingram. FOUR! Ingram does not think there is any twist in the tale. He belters this short ball on off over mid-wicket for a boundary.
Hanuma Vihari is the new man in.
Lockie Ferguson to Prithvi Shaw. OUT! Would you believe it? On 99 Prithvi does not look to run it down to third man or anything. He looks to pull it over the mid-wicket fence. He top edges it and the ball lobs up high in the air. It goes to the right of Dinesh Karthik. He calls for the catch and takes it. An excellent knock from the young star comes to an end. To the sheer disappointment of the crowd and for him he departs. Is there the twist in the tale? 12 from 9 needed and two new batmen out in the middle.
Lockie Ferguson to Colin Ingram. Good length ball outside off, Ingram slaps it uppishly towards deep backward point for a single.
Lockie Ferguson to Prithvi Shaw. Back of a length delivery on off, Shaw looks to pull it but gets an inside edge. The ball clips his shoulder and goes towards backward point for a single.
Lockie Ferguson to Prithvi Shaw. Wide! Lockie misses his line and bowls this length ball down the leg side. Karthik does really well diving to his left and stopping that boundary.
Lockie Ferguson to bowl now.
Kuldeep Yadav to Prithvi Shaw. DROPPED! Could have easily had two-in-two. That would have surely made it interesting. We have seen such catches taken. A low full toss on middle, Shaw smashes it to the right of Kuldeep. He sticks his hand out but the ball does not stick. A single is taken towards long on. Nevertheless, a brilliant over by Yadav. Just the 3 runs and a wicket. Revived a few hopes in the Kolkata camp.
Colin Ingram is the new man in.
Kuldeep Yadav to Rishabh Pant. OUT! Pant has thrown it away. Very reckless and poor from someone who has international experience under his belt. He has probably given Kolkata a sniff here. There was no need to go for something audacious when singles would do the job. Pant has different ideas though. He has tried slogging the last two balls of this over but missed. This time he gets bat to ball, however, it is off the toe-end and he holes out at deep mid-wicket where Chawla accepts a dolly.
Kuldeep Yadav to Rishabh Pant. Two dots in a row! Another one which is pitched outside leg. Pant looks for the slog sweep but misses and gets hit on the pads.
Kuldeep Yadav to Rishabh Pant. Big turn there! This pitches outside the leg pole and then turns square. Pant looks to pull but misses.
Kuldeep Yadav to Prithvi Shaw. Looks to drag his sweep from outside off. He though is a touch early into the shot. It goes off the toe-end towards short third man for a run.
Kuldeep Yadav to Rishabh Pant. Pant dances down the track but is not to the pitch of it. He does well as he pushes it through covers for a run.
Kuldeep Yadav is back into the attack.
Prasidh Krishna to Rishabh Pant. A single to end, so Pant will be on strike. Short and on the body, Pant pulls it towards deep square leg for a single. 16 from the over, Delhi now have it in their grasp. 18 in 18 needed.
Prasidh Krishna to Prithvi Shaw. Finally gets the length right as he bowls it full and wide outside off. Shaw only manages to jam it out towards third man for a single.
Prasidh Krishna to Prithvi Shaw. FOUR! MISFIELD! It is from the last man you would expect, Andre Russell. Shaw now only 5 runs away. This is on a length and around off, Shaw drives it straight down the ground. Russell makes good ground to his left but lets the ball through. Three boundaries in the over.
Prasidh Krishna to Prithvi Shaw. FOUR! Bad ball and Prasidh pays the price. Into the 90s is Shaw. Looks to bowl the yorker but ends up serving a high full toss outside off. Shaw throws his bat at it but gets an outside edge to the third man fence.
Prasidh Krishna to Prithvi Shaw. Another couple! This is on a length and around middle, once again it is a little too straight. Shaw flicks it over square leg. It is not off the middle so the man at deep mid-wicket runs to his right and keeps it to two.
Prasidh Krishna to Prithvi Shaw. FOUR! 15 short of a ton now! Poor delivery to begin with. Down the leg side with fine leg up is a bad idea. Shaw flicks it to the fine leg fence.
Strategic Break - 34 runs more required off 24 with 8 wickets in hand. One must believe that it is Delhi's game from here on. Prithvi Shaw has been at his scintillating best and is still out there, unbeaten on 81 off 46. Kolkata need to pick up wickets here, especially the wicket of Prithvi Shaw. Prasidh Krishna to bowl after the break.
Lockie Ferguson to Prithvi Shaw. What fielding there! Saves three for his side and it could end up being vital three runs here. Shaw drives this full ball crisply to the left of Russell. He at mid off, dives, the ball almost seems to have gone past him but he sticks his left hand out and stops it. He though takes sometime getting back on his feet. A single to end another excellent over for Delhi. 34 more needed in 24.
Lockie Ferguson to Prithvi Shaw. Now a couple! 12 from the over with a ball to go. On the shorter side, Shaw pulls it in the gap at the mid-wicket region.
Lockie Ferguson to Prithvi Shaw. FOUR! He will also play the cut shot if you offer width. It is short once again and outside off. Shaw waits for it and cuts it over point for the second boundary in the over.
Lockie Ferguson to Prithvi Shaw. This time though he misses. A real effort delivery, Shaw is a little late on the pull shot.
Lockie Ferguson to Prithvi Shaw. FOUR! Too easy at the moment for Shaw. You bowl full he will drive you, you bowl short he will pull you. This is what he does here, gets it behind square and the ball races to the fence.
Lockie Ferguson to Rishabh Pant. A better throw, actually a stronger arm would have seen Shaw short. A big mix-up there. It is short and on middle, Pant pulls it between deep mid-wicket and deep square leg. They take one, then think for a second. Shaw is off and is halfway down the wicket. Pant sends him back. Rinku Singh the substitute, picks the ball up and throws it to the keeper. It is a weak one and by the time Karthik collects it and whips the bails off, Shaw makes it in with a dive.
Lockie Ferguson replaces Prasidh Krishna.
Piyush Chawla to Prithvi Shaw. A couple to end! 46 needed in 30 now. This is worked through mid-wicket. They taken one, sense an opportunity for a second and complete it. Shaw moves onto 70.

Prasidh Krishna to Prithvi Shaw. Good length delivery on off, Shaw pushes it to the fielder at cover.
Prasidh Krishna back for his 3rd over.
Nitish Rana to Rishabh Pant. A loud cheer as the screen flashes NOT OUT! A direct hit though would have seen Pant walking back. He smashes this through extra cover. Russell does really well to get across to his right and collect the ball. The batsmen complete one by then. Now, Shaw wants a second but Pant is a bit hesitant. He eventually goes for it. Russell though throws the ball at the wrong end which is the non-striker's end. Rana catches the ball and then fires it to Karthik who whips the bails off and appeals. The umpire takes it upstairs and replays show that Pant is safe. 9 from Rana's first that too with not much risk taken.

Nitish Rana to Prithvi Shaw. FOUR! No matter who the bowler is tonight, Shaw has no respite for anyone. Welcomes Rana with a boundary. Short and outside off, Prithvi plays it late and through point for a boundary. Ideal start to the over.
Rishabh Pant is the new man in. Nitish Rana is on now.
Andre Russell to Shreyas Iyer. OUT! Yes it is a clean catch and Shreyas Iyer has to walk back. Gill is a happy man now. Full ball once again on middle and leg, Iyer looks to loft it over the mid-wicket fielder. He does not time it well and this time Gill makes no mistake and takes a good catch on the edge of the rope. The umpire goes upstairs to see whether it is a clean catch or not. Replays roll in and shows Gill takes it just a few millimeters away from the rope. The dropped catch does not cost much and a wonderful knock from the Delhi skipper comes to an end.
Has that been taken? Gill claims he has but the umpire wants to have a look.

Just brilliant, the shots he plays, the conviction he plays it with is just joy to watch. Gets there with a top-class sweep shot through square leg. It is in the gap and it results in a boundary. Needs to be there though, he can't relax. Delhi need another 84 in the last 9 overs with 9 wickets in hand. This over probably changes the momentum in the favor of the hosts.
