Mumbai Indians vs Rajasthan Royals Highlights And Cricket Score 21th Match - T20 Summary
That's it from us. Phew! What a Sunday we have had. Two games and both going right down to the wire. Earlier, Chennai managed to defend while in this one Mumbai failed to do the same. This win will surely boost Rajasthan's morale going forward. Tomorrow we have single games as Delhi will welcome Punjab in Feroz Shah Kotla. Do tune in at 2000 IST to catch all the action from the Northern Derby. Cheers!
Jofra Archer is the Man of the Match for his superb bowling display. He took three wickets in his last over and made sure that Mumbai don't get past the 170 mark. A Man of the Match Award on debut, what a perfect start to his Indian T20 League campaign.
Things tilted massively when Mumbai breached through the 72-run stand. Hardik Pandya removed Stokes and then that led to a collapse. From 110/3, all of a sudden Rajasthan slipped to 125/6 through sensational bowling from Bumrah and Rahman. 38 were needed required off 14 deliveries and just when everyone thought this game was over, a certain Gowtham stood up and played an innings to remember to take his side over the line. Mumbai, well they certainly need to buck up as this is the fourth time in the season that they have lost from a position that they should have won.
What a game we have had! Taking nothing away from Rajasthan as they have pulled off a heist from the jaws of defeat. The chase didn't start well for them as they lost both their openers cheaply but Ben Stokes and Sanju Samson joined forces to not only bring it back on track but were motoring along quite well with both scoring their respective fifties.
Another nail-biter where Mumbai finish on the losing side! They are making this a habit, a one they would not want to.
Hardik Pandya to Krishnappa Gowtham. SIX! He connects and connects one and it's off the meat. Krishnappa GOAT-HAM has done it for his side. Incredible hitting, 33 off just 11 balls and boy, he has struck at the strike rate of 300. Wow! Slower back of a length delivery, Krishnappa waits, waits and then flat-bats it over the deep mid-wicket fence for half a dozen. The entire Rajasthan team barge towards him and let out a huge roar. A THRILLING 3-WICKET VICTORY FOR THEM!
Hardik Pandya to Krishnappa Gowtham. Fuller delivery outside off, driven towards cover. Doesn't run. He wants to take it on himself.
Hardik Pandya to Krishnappa Gowtham. FOUR! That will do! How smart is that act under pressure? Gowtham sees that the third man is up so what he does is, waits back, crouches a touch and with an angled blade he ramps it over the man there. A boundary results.
Hardik Pandya to Jofra Archer. OUT! A full swing of the bat, top edge and it's taken! Hardik Pandya does it all by himself. He digs in a short ball, it keeps climbing on Archer who has no option but to go after it. It takes the top edge and Pandya himself runs to his right and takes it.
Jasprit Bumrah to Krishnappa Gowtham. FOUR! Bangs it short again, Gowtham tries to pull it doesn't get it off the middle and the ball races through square leg region.
Jasprit Bumrah to Krishnappa Gowtham. Slower bouncer outside off. Gowtham is early in his pull and misses it completely. Where was all his Jasprit?
Jasprit Bumrah to Krishnappa Gowtham. FOUR! Wonderful cut from Gowtham! Short ball from Bumrah outside off, Gowtham cuts it past point in the gap. Game on!
Jasprit Bumrah to Krishnappa Gowtham. Very good running! Low full toss on the pads of Gowtham. He doesn't connect with his flick and the ball goes towards square leg. The Mumbai fielders are not quite alert and Rajasthan pick up two runs.
Jasprit Bumrah to Jofra Archer. No ball! Get me some popcorn somebody! Bumrah like he does often oversteps again. Lands this around off, Archer lofts it to long on for a run. Free Hit incoming!
Jasprit Bumrah to Jofra Archer. Hits this wide of the long on fielder and hares for the second run. Very good cricket all round.
Jasprit Bumrah to Jofra Archer. FOUR! Length ball outside off, Jofra stays back and cuts it to the backward point region for a boundary. This chase is still alive. 24 more runs needed of 11 balls.
Mustafizur Rahman to Krishnappa Gowtham. FOUR! Edged and away. Rajasthan all of a sudden have come back in this, 15 from the over. Very full, angled away outside off, Krishnappa goes hard at it. Gets a thick edge which evades Kishan's dive and races away to the fence. 28 needed off 12 balls.
Mustafizur Rahman to Krishnappa Gowtham. SIX! That's gone the distance. Gowtham has packed a punch, says Ian Bishop on air. Holds back to a slower back of a length delivery and clubs it over deep mid-wicket for a biggie all the way.
Mustafizur Rahman to Krishnappa Gowtham. Clears his front leg and looks to go big over cover. Slices it but it lands safe, they take two.
