Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Royal Challengers Bangalore Highlights And Cricket Score 39th Match - T20 Commentary
Hyderabad's batters failed to make an impact after a good show in the last match. Apart from Williamson and Shakib's 64-run stand none of them could do the talking on this tricky surface which has a lot in it for the bowlers. The hosts have a strong bowling unit and if Bangalore's bowlers can do a good job, imagine what they can do. The Hyderabad bowlers would be surely licking their lips to have a go. Will we see them defending down a total yet again this season? Let's find out on the other side of the break.
Deadly bowling performance from Bangalore. Yes, you read it right. It's been a collective show from their bowlers tonight which has seen them bowl out the hosts. They were accurate in the Powerplay to begin with and didn't let the intensity drop even at the death. Siraj and Southee picked up three wickets apiece while Chahal and Moeen Ali were pretty economical. Yadav, though, went for a few tonight but he picked up the all-important wicket of Williamson. Overall, they have done a decent job and now will have to bank on their batsmen to get them over the line.
Tim Southee to Sandeep Sharma. OUT! The on-field call will be overturned! Good review from Southee! Sandeep Sharma tries to play the reverse paddle but wears it on the pads. The ball rolls towards the leg side and they cross for a leg bye. Southee appeals but it's turned down by the umpire. They take the DRS and Ball Tracker shows the impact is in line and it would have hit the stumps. HYDERABAD BOWLED OUT FOR 146!
Southee asks Kohli to take the DRS. It's taken upstairs again. Will Southee get his third of the night?
Sandeep Sharma is the new man in.
Tim Southee to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. OUT! Another run out and it's Kohli again. Don't you dare to take on his arm. Kumar swipes across the line and the ball goes towards deep mid-wicket. They look for another but Kumar sends him back. Virat returns a good flat throw to Patel who takes the bails off. Replays show Kaul is well short.
Kohli fires another flat throw and a run out appeal has been sent upstairs. Bangalore feel they have got their man. Let's wait and find out.
Tim Southee to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Kumar backs away and punches it back to the bowler. A dot.
Tim Southee to Siddarth Kaul. Lofts it down towards long on and settles with one.
Siddarth Kaul is the new man in.
Tim Southee to Rashid Khan. OUT! Run out! Back of a length delivery, Rashid Khan gets it off the high portion of the bat. The ball lands safely in the mid-wicket region and they try to come back for another. Kohli charges in, collects it on the bounce and fires an accurate throw to Patel who takes the bails off. Khan wasn't even in the frame.
Tim Southee to Rashid Khan. Length ball on the stumps, Rashid comes down the track to heave it across the line but misses.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the new man in.
Mohammed Siraj to Wriddhiman Saha. OUT! Knocked him over! That's sheer pace and Siraj is all pumped. He gets the revenge as he was taken for a biggie from Saha. Good length delivery, curling back in at 146 kph, Saha walks across the stumps to scoop it away but misses and the stumps are shattered behind. 9 off the over and two wickets off it.
Mohammed Siraj to Wriddhiman Saha. Now changes the pace, drops it short again, it's pulled towards Southee at deep mid-wicket and comes back for a double.
Mohammed Siraj to Wriddhiman Saha. Pounds in a short one on off, Wriddhiman makes room to play the upper cut but misses.
Mohammed Siraj to Wriddhiman Saha. SIX! What a shot from Saha! Siraj misses his yorker but just, Saha makes room, gets down on one knee and belts it over mid off for a maximum. It was a clean hit.
Mohammed Siraj to Rashid Khan. Angling back in on middle, Khan looks to flick but misses as the ball goes off the pads towards short third man. Siraj keeps appealing but the umpire turns it down. They cross for a leg bye.
Rashid Khan is in next.
Mohammed Siraj to Yusuf Pathan. OUT! The leg pole goes cartwheeling! Siraj leaps in the air and then punches it in joy. Dream delivery if you are a bowler. He drops it around middle and off and it nips back in with some pace on it. Pathan has a swing across the line but is done in for the pace and sees his leg stump going for a walk.
Tim Southee to Yusuf Pathan. Another short delivery, pulled to the man at deep backward square leg for a single. 11 off the over and a wicket of Shakib.
Tim Southee to Yusuf Pathan. FOUR! Top edge and it's gone even finer! That will do for Hyderabad. Once again Southee doles out a cutter, it's the shorter one around leg. Pathan looks to pull but gets it off the top edge over the keeper for successive boundaries.

Yusuf Pathan is in next. Also, Mohammed Siraj comes back into the attack.
Strategic break!
Umesh Yadav to Kane Williamson. OUT! Umesh Yadav picks up a wicket and equals Hardik Pandya in the list of the leading wicket-takers this season. It's the huge wicket of Williamson. Slower delivery on the stumps, Kane gets across to play the paddle scoop but all he manages is a mistimed shot. The ball goes high in the air and Mandeep Singh at deep backward square leg settles nicely under it. Oh wait. They check for the front foot no ball. It was a really close call but the TV umpire feels Umesh has enough heel behind the line. The Hyderabad skipper walks back after a good knock but this wicket will hamper their chances to get to a respectable total.

Yuzvendra Chahal to Kane Williamson. SIX! Slogged away in style! Williamson is playing another blinder here! Chahal tosses one a bit wider outside off, Kane sits down, fetches it from there and slog sweeps it cleanly over mid-wicket for his second maximum in as many balls. Moves to 49 with that.

Colin de Grandhomme comes on to bowl.
Yuzvendra Chahal to Kane Williamson. Nothing on the Free Hit! Flat and short around off, Kane rocks back and tries to whack it across the line but mistimes it back to the bowler. Chahal sticks his right hand out and makes a half stop. Williamson is really disappointed with himself.
Free Hit time. Can Hyderabad make the most of it?

Tim Southee to Shikhar Dhawan. Uses his feet to the slower ball. Goes for the slog but gets it off the inner half towards deep mid-wicket for a run. The two openers are on the charge here as we saw in the last game. The new ball is the best time to play in Hyderabad.

Kane Williamson feels the wicket stays the same throughout the 40 overs and isn't disappointed to have a go with the bat. Adds they have done well to adapt to different surfaces and tonight would be looking to do the same. They are playing the same team, he informs.
Virat Kohli says they are looking to chase tonight. States it's all about restricting the opposition and teams have done well here while batting second. On the surface, he opines it looks a good one to bat on. Adds that their bowlers have been good and they need to support them on the field. Is confident about their batting as he says their average score has been around 170-180 this season. Informs they have got two changes - Manan Vohra and Moeen Ali come in for Murugan Ashwin and Brendon McCullum.
Toss - Williamson flips the coin. Tails is the call from Kohli and it comes down as tails. Bangalore elect to bowl!
Pitch Report - Brett Lee says there are a bit of cracks on it. Adds there is a nice sheen on the wicket and he expects the ball to turn a lot and skid through the surface. Feels anything around 150 should be a good score on this surface.
Start of a new week and we have match 39 all set to kickoff. The Orange Army will welcome the team from Bangalore tonight and the two teams are having a contrasting season. The hosts are well placed in the top half while the visitors are languishing at the bottom. A win for Williamson will take him one step further to the playoffs while a victory tonight for Kohli wouldn't guarantee anything. Even if they win their remainder of the games, they will have to hope for the other results to go their way. Let's see what do we have in store tonight. Brett Lee is ready with the pitch report.
That's all. Another game and another night where Hyderabad managed to defend a total. They stay on the top and are going from strength to strength under their new skipper. On the other hand, Bangalore once again came in with so much of promise but faltered just like every season. Anyway, life has to move on and Indian T20 League cycle will now move to Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Tuesday which will see Rajasthan hosting Punjab. Do join us at 2000 Local (1430 GMT) for all the action. Until then, goodbye and cheers!
Man of the Match goes to Kane Williamson for his brilliant knock of 56 from 39 balls on a tough pitch to bat on. He scored his fifth half century of the season and anchored the innings to make sure he gives something to his bowlers to bowl at.
Siddarth Kaul and Bhuvneshwar Kumar through their perfect execution hit proper lengths, took the pace off cunningly, speared in some lethal yorker and defended down the total with relative ease. Hyderabad now have won 5 games on the trot and become the first team to bag 16 points to almost confirm their berth in the playoffs. As far as Bangalore are concerned, this dismal show should give you a perfect picture about how their season was. They are just not able to step up and with this loss they are all but out of the tournament one would feel.
Bangalore had their noses in front as they had some luck going their way. But.... An exceptional catch from Yusuf Pathan saw the back of Virat Kohli and then Rashid Khan sent the big fish, AB de Villiers back as well to tilt the game back in their favor. Those two wickets gave Hyderabad supreme control over the game. It seemed like this would lead to a procession but Mandeep Singh and Colin de Grandhomme didn't give up. They fought hard and the Kiwi's blitz in Rashid's last over once again turned the game as the equation came down to 25 from 18 balls.
The Orange Army, take a bow! They are truly the 'Masters of Defense'! Yet again they have come out victorious while defending a total and boy, they are making it a habit. Incredible stuff! Riding on Kane Williamson's 50 and his 64-run stand with Shakib, Hyderabad crawled their way to 146 somehow. The wicket was sticky which meant that the hosts wouldn't have been ruled out at all. When the chase began, Bangalore openers got them off to a good start. Patel departed but Kohli came out all guns blazing and started to attack from the word go. They were going pretty well and had the run rate well under control.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Colin de Grandhomme. OUT! HYDERABAD HAVE WON IT BY 5 RUNS! Just how do you hit those over the fence? Just, how? Take a bow, Kumar. An exceptional penultimate over has been followed by an even better last over by one of the best death bowlers going around. A yorker to end everything and it is outside off. De Grandhomme walks across and tries to flick but he only manages to get a thick inside edge onto his stumps.
6 needed from 1 ball. Can Colin de Grandhomme strike a maximum? Here comes Bhuvi running in...
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Mandeep Singh. So they need a biggie from the last ball as there is only a run from this ball. This is outstanding stuff from Bhuvneshwar Kumar. A lot of people will be expecting for him to go for the slower one but he bowls a seam up ball on the pads. Mandeep goes for the flick but it hits the pad and goes towards point. The batsmen run a leg bye.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Colin de Grandhomme. Another single! This is exceptional bowling by Kumar. He bowls a yorker again on middle, Colin whips it down to long on. They should run two but no, they only take on. 7 from 2.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Mandeep Singh. Goes for the smart option as he tries to paddle scoop Bhuvi over short fine leg. However, Bhuvneshwar is right upto the mark as he bowls the slower one outside off. Mandeep has no pace to work with and he finds that fielder. Only a run.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Mandeep Singh. A brace this time. Low full toss on middle, Mandeep hits it down to long on. The complete one, Colin wants a second and they go for it and complete it. Not sure if that was the right idea by Colin to go for the second. 9 needed from 4.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Colin de Grandhomme. A brilliant delivery to start with. A yorker on middle, Colin hits it down to long on, only for a run. Singles won't do it for Bangalore.
12 needed from 6. It will be the death over specialist Bhuvneshwar who will bowl the final over.
