Mumbai Indians vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Highlights And Cricket Score 7th Match - T20 Commentary
Mumbai found it very difficult to get Rashid Khan away who bowled very economically. He finished with figures of 4-0-13-1, taking the wicket of the dangerous Cutting. Sandeep Sharma too contributed and ensured Hyderabad did not miss their strike bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The bowlers now have done their job and it is now on their batsmen to do theirs. They have a strong unit and will back themselves to chase this down. Will we see the home side make it two out of two or will Mumbai open their points tally? We will have to wait to find out. Join us for the chase shortly.
So a brilliant bowling performance by Hyderabad has seen them restrict Mumbai to a total which is just below par I feel. After being put into bat, the visitors lost their skipper early. Lewis and Kishan then joined forces and were going great guns before Siddarth Kaul was introduced into the attack. He picked up two wickets in one over which completely stopped the run flow after the Powerplay. Suryakumar Yadav and Kieron Pollard did try to steady the ship but as soon as they started hitting the big ones, Stanlake struck and then Mumbai just could not get on the right track.
Siddarth Kaul to Mayank Markande. FOUR! Yes, they can! Markande plays a cheeky paddle and he connects really well. He walks across the off pole and paddles it fine through short fine leg for a boundary. A good last over for Mumbai, 10 from it and they HAVE FINISHED ON 147 FOR 8!
Siddarth Kaul to Jasprit Bumrah. Another single, so just singles till now in this over. On a length outside off, Bumrah swings but does not connect well. It goes towards square leg for a run. Can they finish off with a boundary? They do need it.
Siddarth Kaul to Mayank Markande. On a length around off, Markande pushes it towards mid off for a run.
Siddarth Kaul to Jasprit Bumrah. Short ball on middle, Bumrah mistimes his pull towards long on for a run.
Siddarth Kaul to Mayank Markande. Played to the point region by the batsman. They pick up a single.
Siddarth Kaul to Jasprit Bumrah. Just a run off the Free Hit. On a length around off, Bumrah heaves it but gets an inside edge towards short fine leg for a run.
Siddarth Kaul to Jasprit Bumrah. NO BALL! Free Hit coming up, Mumbai need this to go big. Bumrah swings across the line but misses.
Siddarth Kaul to bowl the last over.
Sandeep Sharma to Jasprit Bumrah. No hat-trick. Bumrah is very watchful as he pushes it towards long on for a run. So a brilliant second last over by Sharma, just three and two wickets.
Jasprit Bumrah comes out to bat. He will be facing the hat-trick ball.
Sandeep Sharma to Pradeep Sangwan. OUT! That is plumb! Hawk Eye shows three reds. Another slower ball does the trick. It is on off and Sangwan is completely deceived as he tries to flick across the line. He misses to get hit on the pads. Sandeep makes a huge appeal but the umpire does not agree with him. Sandeep however, feels he has got his man and convinces his captain to go for the review. Williamson signals the 'T'. Replays roll in and it shows it to be hitting the off pole. The on-field call has to be overturned and another one bites the dust for Mumbai. Sharma gets two-in-two and he will be on a hat-trick.
Review time! First of the game and it has come in the penultimate over. A huge shout for LBW against Sangwan has been turned down. Sandeep likes it and he wants it to be reviewed. Williamson does so. Looks out to be honest.
Mayank Markande is the next man in.
Sandeep Sharma to Suryakumar Yadav. OUT! Yadav holes out! So two dots has brought about a wicket. Another slower ball, once again there is hardly any pace on this delivery. Yadav swings hard but the ball goes off the toe end towards Manish Pandey at long on. He runs in and takes a good catch. End of Yadav and Mumbai seem to be losing their way here.
Sandeep Sharma to Suryakumar Yadav. Another off pace ball outside off, this is very slow by the bowler. Yadav throws the kitchen sink at it but misses. So two dots in a row. Something has to pay here.
Sandeep Sharma to Suryakumar Yadav. Nicely bowled slower ball outside off, Yadav is foxed by it as he swings a little too early and gets beaten.
Sandeep Sharma to Suryakumar Yadav. Slower ball on middle, Yadav mistimes it towards long on for a brace.
Sandeep Sharma is back on.
Rashid Khan to Pradeep Sangwan. The batsman defends it from within the crease. So just 5 and a wicket from this over. Excellent stuff from Rashid, he bowls out and his figures read, 4-0-13-1. Exceptional!
Rashid Khan to Pradeep Sangwan. Fires it on the pads, Sangwan tries to keep it out but misses to get hit on the pads.
Rashid Khan to Pradeep Sangwan. Flatter on middle, Sangwan defends it off the front foot.
Rashid Khan to Pradeep Sangwan. WIDE! Down the leg side and the umpire calls it a wide.
Pradeep Sangwan is the next man in.
Rashid Khan to Ben Cutting. OUT! Rashid Khan gets his man and then gives him a stare! What a bowler and his passion for the game is unreal. Really fun to watch this guy. He bowls the googly outside off, Cutting does not pick it as he comes down the track and heaves across the line. A blind swing of the willow as he completely misses the ball to see his off stump get uprooted. An important wicket at an important time as we all know how dangerous Cutting can be.
Rashid Khan to Ben Cutting. FOUR! Excellent paddle sweep! This was very smart from Cutting. He goes down on one knee and paddles it over the short fine leg fielder and it runs away to the fence.
Rashid Khan to Ben Cutting. Cutting again goes for the sweep, a shot which he opts against the spinner. He however misses this one and gets hit on the pads.
Rashid Khan to bowl out.
Siddarth Kaul to Suryakumar Yadav. FOUR! When you can hit these kind of shots, no need to run extra runs. Yadav is right on top of a short delivery and pulls it magnificently well through square leg for a boundary. No chance for the fielder in the deep. Spoils a good over in a way.
Siddarth Kaul to Ben Cutting. Turns it off his pads to mid-wicket and takes a run. Wants the second but Yadav is not interested. Maybe, still not up to the mark with his fitness.
Siddarth Kaul to Suryakumar Yadav. The batsman premeditates his move. Hops back to create room on the off side but Kaul does well to let out a short ball in line of the stumps. Yadav goes for the pull but fails to middle it properly. Ends up forcing it down to long on and takes a run.
Siddarth Kaul to Ben Cutting. Good length delivery on middle, Cutting quietly works it through the big gap at mid-wicket and rotates the strike.
Siddarth Kaul to Ben Cutting. Short in length and outside off, Cutting cuts it firmly off his back foot but the point fielder stops it with a dive. No run taken. The non-striker was interested but rushed immediately as Hooda missed his shy at the bowler's end. Yadav seems to have hurt himself while diving and the physio comes out. Mumbai don't want another injury.
Siddarth Kaul to Suryakumar Yadav. Kaul returns in the attack and angles in a full ball on off, Yadav pushes it down the ground, a bit aerially but safely, towards long on. A single taken.
Shakib Al Hasan to Suryakumar Yadav. Flatter on leg stump, Yadav tries to pull but mistimes it towards deep mid-wicket for a run. 10 from this over, 121 on the board. How many more can Mumbai get? There are 4 overs left.
Shakib Al Hasan to Suryakumar Yadav. Fires it on the pads, Kumar tries to flick but misses to get hit on the pads.
Shakib Al Hasan to Ben Cutting. Once again plays the sweep shot towards deep backward square leg for a run.
Shakib Al Hasan to Suryakumar Yadav. Eases it down to long on for a run.
Shakib Al Hasan to Suryakumar Yadav. SIX! Top shot! Gets to the pitch of the ball, goes with the spin, inside out over covers and he has timed it so well that it has gone all the way.
Shakib Al Hasan to Ben Cutting. Plays the sweep shot towards deep square leg for a run.
Shakib Al Hasan to bowl out.
The second strategic break has been signaled!
Billy Stanlake to Ben Cutting. Played to the point region by the batsman. The batsmen have run through for a single.
Ben Cutting walks out to the middle.
Billy Stanlake to Kieron Pollard. OUT! In the air.. caught! There is the wicket Williamson wanted, there is the wicket the whole of Hyderabad wanted. Just as Mumbai were starting to get a move on, just as Pollard was starting to find the fence, he falls in a bizarre manner. Stanlake lands this one on a length around off, Pollard goes for the drive but as the ball sticks in the surface, he stops his shot midway. The ball, however, still hits the middle of the willow and goes high up in the air. It carries towards Dhawan who is positioned at deep extra cover and he takes a simple catch. Half the side back in the hut for Mumbai.
Billy Stanlake to Kieron Pollard. Another short ball outside off, this one though is a little closer to the off pole. Pollard tries to cut but is beaten.
Billy Stanlake to Kieron Pollard. FOUR! This is not the Pollard we know. He is playing with a lot of finesse and not with power. This one is short and outside off, Pollard cuts it past backward point and it runs away. 10 from the first 3 balls, this could be another good over to follow up the last one.
Billy Stanlake to Kieron Pollard. Slower bouncer outside off, Pollard goes for the pull but misses.
Billy Stanlake to Kieron Pollard. SIX! Welcome back to the bowling crease, Stanlake! What a shot that, he also holds the pose for the cameras. Full and on off, Pollard just lofts it over the bowler's end. Such is the power off the man that it goes all the way. Maximum off the first ball, pressure on the bowler.
Billy Stanlake is back into the attack.
Shakib Al Hasan to Kieron Pollard. A single to end this over, it also brings up the 100 for Mumbai as Pollard works it around the corner for a run. 10 from this over, they need some more like this!
Shakib Al Hasan to Suryakumar Yadav. The batsman drives this through the covers. The batsmen have run through for a single.
Shakib Al Hasan to Kieron Pollard. Comes down the track again but Hasan fires it on the pads. Pollard flicks it towards square leg. He runs the first one hard, wants a second but is is not on.
Shakib Al Hasan to Kieron Pollard. SIX! BOOM BOOM GOES POLLARD! A much-needed biggie this one. He comes down the track, Shakib bowls it slower outside off. Pollard gets to the pitch of it and tonks it over extra cover for a maximum.
Shakib Al Hasan to Kieron Pollard. Fires it on off, Pollard pushes it back to the bowler.
Shakib Al Hasan to Suryakumar Yadav. Flatter on middle, punches it down to long on for a run.
Shakib Al Hasan is back on.
Rashid Khan to Kieron Pollard. BEAUTY TO FINISH! The wrong 'un again! Pollard has no clue about it as he reaches to it to defend, leaving a gap between bat and pad. The ball spins back in, sneaks between the gap and almost kisses the off pole. End of another tight over, the brakes are applied here.
Rashid Khan to Suryakumar Yadav. A misfield! Yadav goes for the sweep but gets a bottom edge towards short fine leg. Stanlake there misfields and concedes a run.
Rashid Khan to Kieron Pollard. Tucks it around the corner for a run.
Rashid Khan to Suryakumar Yadav. The batsman has played it to the point region. They pick up a single.
Rashid Khan to Suryakumar Yadav. Tosses it up on off, driven towards covers.
Rashid Khan to Suryakumar Yadav. Another big appeal but the umpire shakes his head! This looked close though. Khan bowls the googly on off, it turns back in sharply. Yadav does not pick it and tries to guide it down towards third man. The ball though hits his front pad and goes to first slip. Williamson opts against the review as he felt it was too high.
Siddarth Kaul to Kieron Pollard. FOUR! Smart batting! That third man was brought in for this ball and Pollard hits Kaul for a boundary there. He offers a little width outside off, that is enough for Pollard to guide it past the fielder at short third man for a boundary. But a good over, just 5 from it and only 9 from the last two.
Siddarth Kaul to Kieron Pollard. Make that one from the first five. Can he finish it well? He lands this one on a length, does not offer a lot of room as Pollard keeps it out off the back foot.
Siddarth Kaul to Suryakumar Yadav. A single as this one is eased down to long on. Just one from the first four balls.
Siddarth Kaul to Suryakumar Yadav. Very good change in length! Goes short again on middle, Yadav is surprised by it as he goes for the pull but is beaten by pace.
Siddarth Kaul to Suryakumar Yadav. Pollard stops a run there! Wonder what I have written? I will explain. Kaul bowls this on a fuller length on middle, Yadav strokes it towards mid on. It is an easy single however, Pollard at the other end cannot get his bat up in time and it hits his bat and goes towards mid-wicket. A dot in the end.
Siddarth Kaul to Suryakumar Yadav. Back of a length on off, Yadav pushes it towards mid-wicket.
Siddarth Kaul is back on.
Rashid Khan to Kieron Pollard. A dot to finish! So just four off this one! Darts it on the pads, Pollard tries to flick but misses to get hit on the pads.
Rashid Khan to Kieron Pollard. FOUR! A boundary on the fifth! Rashid bowls it a touch fuller this time on middle, Pollard gets to the pitch of it and strokes it over the bowler's head for a boundary.
Rashid Khan to Kieron Pollard. Ohhhkay! This is a good battle between the two. This time Khan goes fuller on off, Pollard drives it back towards him. Rashid collects the ball and throws it back to the keeper. It is heating up out there. 4 dots in the over.
Rashid Khan to Kieron Pollard. Fires it on off, this time drags his length back a little. Pollard blocks it off the back foot.
Rashid Khan to Kieron Pollard. Quicker on off again, not a lot of turn. Pollard defends it.
Rashid Khan to Kieron Pollard. Flatter on off, Pollard keeps it out.
Rashid Khan is back on.
Billy Stanlake to Kieron Pollard. Williamson might be reading what I am writing as he brings in a slip. However, Billy goes for the double bluff as he goes for the yorker. Pollard though gets his bat down in time and flicks it through square leg for a run.
Billy Stanlake to Kieron Pollard. Get in a slip, Kane, get in one! Stanlake bowls this wide outside off. Pollard walks down the track and goes after it away from his body but gets beaten.
Billy Stanlake to Kieron Pollard. Well bowled! On a length around off, this one straightens after pitching. Pollard tries to keep it out but gets beaten.
Billy Stanlake to Suryakumar Yadav. Clever batting, a single to follow up the boundary. Shorter in length and outside off, Yadav guides it down to third man for a run.
Billy Stanlake to Suryakumar Yadav. FOUR! Top shot! He has given that a crunch! Short and on the body of the batsman. Kumar rocks back and pulls it through mid-wicket and then the ball races away.
Billy Stanlake to Suryakumar Yadav. Defended off the back foot by the batsman.
Billy Stanlake is back on.
Shakib Al Hasan to Kieron Pollard. Flatter on middle, Pollard works it towards mid-wicket. He wanted a run but is sent back.
Kieron Pollard comes out to bat.
Strategic break has been signaled. What an exciting 8.5 overs this has been. We have had runs, dropped catches and wickets. Mumbai did lose their skipper early but then Ishan Kishan and Evin Lewis played their shots. But a double-wicket over by Kaul and another breakthrough just before the strategic break has seen them now being put on the back foot.
Shakib Al Hasan to Krunal Pandya. OUT! Leading edge and taken! Shakib has the last laugh. He once again bowls it slower, brings all his experience into play. Pandya looks to nudge it on the leg side and take two like he did on the first two balls. This time though he closes the bat face a touch early and gets a leading edge which lobs towards Kane Williamson who takes a very easy catch at covers. Another big wicket for Hyderabad as Pandya was looking really good out there. Mumbai in a spot of bother now.
Shakib Al Hasan to Krunal Pandya. FOUR! This is clever from Pandya! He is playing with the bowler's mind. He brings out the reverse sweep and connects well. It goes fine through the off side and the ball goes into the third man fence. This is turning out to be an expensive over.
Shakib Al Hasan to Krunal Pandya. FOUR! Make that nine from the first three. This is a beautiful cricketing short! Shakib tosses it up on off, a little too full and this is easy for Pandya. He drives it through covers and the ball races away to the fence.
Shakib Al Hasan to Krunal Pandya. This is clever batting! Hasan bowls this slower on middle, Pandya plays it with soft hands towards mid-wicket and takes two. 5 from the first two balls and they have not tried anything fancy, just smart batting.

Shakib Al Hasan to Krunal Pandya. WIDE! Down the leg side and the umpire calls it a wide.

Sandeep Sharma comes into the attack.
Shakib Al Hasan to Krunal Pandya. A dot to finish! An excellent over, just one from it. Pandya keeps this ball on off out from the front foot. So Hyderabad are now looking to pull things back.

Shakib Al Hasan to Suryakumar Yadav. The batsman drives the ball straight down the ground.

Shakib Al Hasan to Suryakumar Yadav. Flatter on off, Yadav pushes it back to the bowler.
Shakib Al Hasan is into the attack.
Krunal Pandya walks out to the middle.
Siddarth Kaul to Evin Lewis. OUT! TIMBER! The last ball of the Powerplay provides a wicket. The dangerous Lewis is walking back now. What an over this from Kaul, two wickets and he now has brought Hyderabad right on top. Once again it is the knuckle ball on off, Lewis goes for the heave across the line without picking the variation and pays a big price for it. He misses to see his off stump getting rattled. An excellent bowling change by Williamson and because of the two wickets in this over, Hyderabad will be the happier of the two sides after the Powerplay as Mumbai are 54 for 3.
Siddarth Kaul to Evin Lewis. An excellent attempt there by Williamson. Lewis once again tries to go big but this time mistimes it in the air towards long off. Williamson from mid off runs behind and tries to get to it with a dive but can't. Two taken from the batsmen.
Siddarth Kaul to Evin Lewis. FOUR! BRUTE! Lewis has hit with all his might. A wicket has just fallen but Lewis will continue playing his shots. A full ball right in the zone of Lewis. He hammers it past mid off for a boundary.
Siddarth Kaul to Evin Lewis. The batsman works it down the leg side.
Suryakumar Yadav is the next man in.
Siddarth Kaul to Ishan Kishan. OUT! This time too the drop catch has not cost a lot as Kaul strikes off his second ball. Kishan's fidgety stay out there comes to an end. He was playing too many shots and that has brought his downfall. Kaul angles it across the batsman as he lands this one outside off. Kishan tries to go big but gets a top edge towards third man where Pathan takes it very low. He then signals as he did not sight the ball. A good catch by him in the end. A much-needed wicket for Hyderabad, can they now build on this?

Siddarth Kaul is into the attack.
Rashid Khan to Evin Lewis. The batsman shows the full face of the bat and defends the ball off the back foot.
Rashid Khan to Ishan Kishan. DROPPED AGAIN! Hyderabad are in no mood to catch the ball today. Kishan with a reprieve this time. He has looked fidgety since the time he has come to the crease and this time too he is in a hurry. He shimmies down the track and tries to hit it across the line. He gets a top edge which lobs towards mid off. Sandeep Sharma there runs backwards, tries to take it reverse cup but drops it. They needed this wicket, that should have been taken as the two are going bonkers.
Rashid Khan to Ishan Kishan. FOUR LEG BYES! A huge appeal but pitched outside leg. Khan bowls the wrong 'un! Kishan goes for the reverse sweep but misses to get hit on the pads. The ball goes between the keeper and the slip for a boundary.

Billy Stanlake to Evin Lewis. This one is way outside off and the umpire signals a wide.
Billy Stanlake to Evin Lewis. FOUR! Over covers again, Lewis is taking it to Stanlake. He knows he will be banging it a touch short. Lewis moves away and slaps it over covers and the ball races away.
Billy Stanlake to Evin Lewis. The batsman defends it from within the crease.
Billy Stanlake to Evin Lewis. Bouncer a well-directed one. Lewis ducks under it.
Billy Stanlake to Evin Lewis. FOUR! Excellent start to this over as well. 3 boundaries in the last three and 21 runs from the last 7 balls. Short and outside off, Lewis punches it through covers and the ball races away.
Sandeep Sharma to Ishan Kishan. FOUR! Back-to-back boundaries! This was nicely played. Sharma changes the angle and comes around the wicket. Bowls a slower one on off, Kishan opens the face of the bat and guides it past the diving keeper to the third man fence this time. A huge over for Mumbai, 17 from it. So a wicket has fallen but the runs are flowing.
Sandeep Sharma to Ishan Kishan. FOUR! Streaky but Ishan's intentions are clear here. He comes down the track and swings hard. He gets an inside edge which goes past the keeper and into the fine leg fence for a boundary.

Ishan Kishan comes out to bat.
Billy Stanlake to Rohit Sharma. OUT! GONE! That is all from the Hitman today. He has not made Hyderabad pay for the let off he got. Stanlake strikes, he has the last laugh. A soft dismissal but. He bowls this on the pads, Sharma flicks it uppishly towards Shakib at square leg who dives forward and takes an excellent catch inches above the ground. He is pumped up and so is the Hyderabad team. A big wicket for them as Rohit Sharma bags another failure. A good end to the over, 10 runs and a wicket from it.
Billy Stanlake to Rohit Sharma. FOUR! So the drop has already cost them eleven runs! Exquisite by Sharma. Fuller on off, Sharma leans into it and drives it through covers for a boundary. This is turning out to be an excellent over for Mumbai. Also all these runs will be hurting Hooda.
Billy Stanlake to Rohit Sharma. The batsman shows the full face of the bat and defends the ball off the back foot.
Billy Stanlake to Rohit Sharma. Fuller in length on off, Sharma drives it to the man at covers.
Billy Stanlake to Rohit Sharma. SIX! This has been hit with authority! First maximum and it comes off the bat of, Rohit Sharma. Short and on middle, Rohit rocks back and pulls it off the middle and over the square leg fence for a biggie.
Billy Stanlake to Rohit Sharma. Starts off with a back of a length ball on off, Sharma defends it off the back foot.
Billy Stanlake to bowl from the other end.
Sandeep Sharma to Evin Lewis. RUN OUT CHANCE! Length ball around middle, Lewis tucks it beside the pitch and wants a run. He is half way down the track but seeing Sharma get to the ball quickly, Rohit sends him back. Lewis now turns and tries to get back as Sandeep Sharma has a shy at the striker's end but misses. No harm done. An action-packed and an excellent over by Sandeep Sharma comes to an end.
Sandeep Sharma to Evin Lewis. On a length around off, kept out.
Sandeep Sharma to Rohit Sharma. In the air... Hooda is getting under it, should be the first wicket for Hyderabad but Deepak DROPS IT! A huge chance goes abegging. Sharma deserved this wicket but he is unfortunate to not get it. He bowls this one a touch short on middle, not very short though. Sharma rocks back and tries to pull it but the length is not quite there. He gets a top edge which goes towards mid-wicket. Hooda there runs backwards, he seems to be struggling, gets two hands to it but can't hang on. A big let off for the Mumbai skipper, not a batsman you want to give a reprieve. Will he make them pay? Williamson would hope not.
Sandeep Sharma to Rohit Sharma. Three dots to begin with by Sandeep. He is right on the money here as well as he lands it on a length and bowls it on the stumps. Rohit lunges forward and keeps it out.
Sandeep Sharma to Rohit Sharma. Follows it up with another good delivery. He lands it on a length around off. Sharma defends it solidly.
Sandeep Sharma to Rohit Sharma. Oh yes, he does! An absolute beauty to start with! Sharma struggled against the moving ball in the last game and Sandeep creates problems first up. He first angles it into the batsman and then gets it to leave him after pitching. Sharma plays inside the line but is beaten by the away swing. It goes agonizingly close and past the outside edge and the off pole. Good start by Sharma, this should give him confidence.
We are moments away from the first ball. The players and the umpires make their way to the middle. They are followed by the opening batsmen of Mumbai, Evin Lewis and Rohit Sharma. Sandeep Sharma who comes in for this game, will open the bowling for Hyderabad. He normally gets the ball to swing, can he get some movement in this one? We will have to wait for him to bowl the first ball to find out. Here we go...
Rohit Sharma starts by informing Hardik Pandya misses out and Pradeep Sangwan come into the team. Further adds Ben Cutting comes in for Mitchell McClenaghan. Mentions they did lose the last game but they now want to put the loss aside and concentrate on this game. Admits it is important to get a win early on as they want the momentum on their side but he also wants his team to enjoy the game.
Kane Williamson says they bowled first in last game also and they will look to take wickets early on. Informs Bhuvneshwar Kumar misses out and Sandeep Sharma comes in. Further adds it was a nice start for them but they want to keep improving. Ends by saying it is a good surface and they will try and restrict Mumbai to a low total.
TOSS - Hyderabad win the toss and they elect to field first.
PITCH REPORT - Pommie Mbangwa starts by saying it looks a pretty good wicket and the fast bowlers, like the last game, will get good assistance. He feels there will be a little turn, not a lot but enough to keep the spinners interested. Ends by saying anything above 165 will be a good score.
The away side on the other hand, need not make any changes to their starting line-up. They have momentum on their side and they will look to carry forward it into this game. We can hope for an exciting game.
It is time for Match no. 7 and it is a clash between Hyderabad and Mumbai in Hyderabad and we welcome you to the coverage. The two teams had contrasting fates in their opening encounters with the home side cruising to victory and the away side losing a match which they should have won. However, they would look to turn things around tonight, it won't be easy against the strong hosts. We might see the visitors tinker with their eleven.
We're done with this game. Another heartbreaking loss for the defending champions and their campaign is yet to take off. Hyderabad, on the other hand, will be pleased after winning tonight but they should have never let this game go this deep. Next up, Bangalore will be hosting Punjab on Friday at 2000 IST (1430 GMT). We look forward to your company then. Cheers!
Rashid Khan is chosen for the Man of the Match award. His bowling figures were mind-boggling tonight. He was as miserly as Uncle Scrooge as he gave away only 13 runs in his 4 overs and also bagged the wicket of the big-hitting Ben Cutting at a crucial juncture. An award well-deserved by the Afghan.
The young Mumbai leggie was once again on song with his variations and foxed the batsmen with his guile. He hunted down four wickets and gave a sniff to his team. They kept picking wickets but failed to stop the flow of runs. The asking run rate was never an issue for the hosts but a few reckless shots from their batsmen made it uncomfortable for them. The Mumbai bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah and Mustafizur Rahman in particular, gave it their all towards the end but the visiting team still failed to cross the line. A word of praise for Deepak Hooda who held his calm amidst all the pressure and then Billy Stanlake finished things off with a big blow. For Mumbai, once again it was a case of so near yet so far. A close loss again will be hurting.
An excellent game of cricket we have just witnessed. It went right down to the wire and in the end, it was Hyderabad who tasted their second win of the season. To be honest, they made a mountain out of a molehill. The chase was always under their control after a power-packed beginning in the Powerplay. Shikhar Dhawan was in his elements and Wriddhiman Saha also played his part. The hosts were cruising at one stage but suddenly hit a roadblock once Mayank Markande was introduced.
Ben Cutting to Billy Stanlake. FOUR! BILLY STANLAKE, YOU BEAUTY! The giant of a batsman swings his big bat across the line, gets one in his half and lofts it over mid-wicket. It falls safely and races away to the fence. Smiles all around in the Hyderabad camp, the crowd has gone mad. What a game! What a finish! HYDERABAD WIN BY 1 WICKET!
1 needed from 1 ball! Super over anybody? It is Billy Stanlake who is on strike. The fielders come in. The keeper has taken off his right glove. Here we go...
Ben Cutting to Deepak Hooda. In the air, safffeee! Slower one, on the shorter side, Hooda fails to middle his pull shot. It goes off the top edge to short fine leg, Bumrah runs forward but it falls short of him. They take a run.
Rohit having a chat with his bowler. Long on, deep mid-wicket, deep cover in place.
Ben Cutting to Billy Stanlake. Slower length ball on middle and leg, Stanlake taps it down to mid-wicket and crosses for a quick single. Rohit attacks the ball but fails to pick it up. 2 needed off 2 balls.
Field comes up a bit for Stanlake. Three fielders on the off side inside the ring.

He is rapped on the pads, they appeal but the umpire shakes his head. To be honest, that looked to be missing leg and at the most would have clipped the leg stump. But no. The replays roll in, finds the impact in line and shows it to be hitting the leg pole. Well, with the batsmen down the track a bit, it's a bit shocking to see that. Anyway, Saha has been given the marching orders. First success for Mumbai but they need many more in quick time.

Pradeep Sangwan to Wriddhiman Saha. Covers the line of the delivery and defends it on the leg side.
Pradeep Sangwan to Wriddhiman Saha. DROPPED AND FOUR! Cutting is the culprit there. He did all the hard work to reach but then spills out the chance. Coming to the delivery, it's a length ball outside off, Saha attempts to pick it over the leg side but fails to middle it properly. It balloons in the air towards mid on, Ben runs behind from there, gets his hands to it but fails to hold on. To add to the misery, it runs away to the fence.

Pradeep Sangwan to kick things off for Mumbai. Let's play...
