Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Kolkata Knight Riders Highlights And Cricket Score 54th Match - T20 Summary

End of Over : 19.4 KKR: 173/5

So that is it from this game. We have our third team to reach the playoffs and it is Kolkata who have sealed their place. However, there is still one spot left for it and it is something we will find out tomorrow, the last day of the league stage. Again we have two games lined up. Delhi will be playing Mumbai first at the former's den at 1600 local (1030 GMT). Followed by Chennai taking on Punjab in Pune at 2000 local (1430 GMT). Till then, take care and goodbye.

Man of the Match, Chris Lynn, says they are building momentum nicely. Mentions the wickets back home suits his game but he is trying to adjust to the wickets here and looking to build partnerships with his teammates. Admits he likes batting with Narine and it is fun to watch him from the other end. Further adds they don't want to change the way they are playing and would like to continue the same at the business end.

Kolkata skipper, Dinesh Karthik, says he is happy to reach the playoffs as every team in the league was striving for that. Reckons they are playing some good cricket and he feels they are peaking at the right time.

Hyderabad skipper, Kane Williamson, says a few more runs would have been handy as the wicket played well. Reckons something around 200 would have been good but credits the way Kolkata batted. Mentions what has happened now does not matter and they now have to look ahead to the playoffs. Appreciates the way Kolkata bowled towards the end but they could have had more on the board. Ends by saying they want to be positive going into the next game.

Earlier, the Kolkata bowlers were put under immense pressure by the striking force of Hyderabad. Shikhar Dhawan, Shreevats Goswami and Kane Williamson were in great touch but failed to play long innings. The visitors made a resounding comeback in the death overs and didn't allow Hyderabad a desirable finish. 31/7 came in the last 5 overs and that hurt the hosts the most. Their bowling has been losing steam of late and once again they didn't look their best. After faring so well in this season, Hyderabad would not want to slip at the business end of the tournament.

A convincing win for Kolkata and they have booked their place in the playoffs! They planned their chase superbly against one of the best bowling attacks this season. Sunil Narine gave them a quickfire start while Chris Lynn played yet another responsible knock. He built a 67-run stand with Uthappa which very much took the game in Kolkata's favour. Later on, Dinesh Karthik once again finished things with aplomb. A good win for them while a third loss in a row for Hyderabad, something they need to worry about. Like winning, losing is also a habit and they would like to get rid of it as soon as possible.

Andre's struggle comes to an end. 13 more needed from 14.

Summary

Kolkata Knight Riders will have no margin for error when they take on hosts Sunrisers Hyderabad, who will fancy their chances despite coming off a defeat, in the Indian Premier League. Currently occupying the top spot with nine wins from 13 matches, Sunrisers are coming into the game following a 14-run loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore in a high-scoring match, but the home team can take confidence from their impressive showing in the season so far.

Two-time champions KKR are placed third in the standings with seven wins in 13 outings, and the visitors will be going all out for a victory at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, and inch closer to SRH and Chennai Super Kings.

After Sunrisers' dismal performance against RCB with the ball, which has been one of their strong points this season, the hosts will be eager to correct the flaws as they brace up to face another tough opponent.

Sunrisers are likely to ring in a couple of changes and pacer Basil Thampi, who yesterday bowled the most expensive four overs in the history of IPL, could be one of the axed players.

Thampi leaked 70 runs in his full quota of four overs, surpassing the previous record held by Ishant Sharma. While the bowlers were taken to task by the likes of AB de Villiers and Moeen Ali in their last game, Sunrisers showed a lot of heart while batting, coming within touching distance of a famous win.

Aggregating over 600 runs this season, skipper Kane Williamson has led the side from the front, and he will look to do it again. The 81 off 42 balls against RCB was Williamson's eighth fifty-plus score in IPL 2018.

Having missed out against RCB, opener Shikhar Dhawan will be keen to get a big one against the Knight Riders. Manish Pandey, who blazed away to a half-century against Virat Kohli's bowlers, will look to continue in the same vein.

In bowling, pace spearhead Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was not played in the last game, could be back alongside Rashid Khan, Siddarth Kaul and Shakib Al Hasan.

As far as KKR is concerned, one player whose confidence will be sky high going into the match is Kuldeep Yadav, who starred with four wickets in the team's comfortable win over Rajasthan Royals. The likes of Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, and skipper Dinesh Karthik will hold the key to KKR's fortunes.
