Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Rajasthan Royals Highlights And Cricket Score 28th Match - T20 Commentary
Just when things were going silky and smooth for the visitors, Gowtham came in and broke the stand. After that, their middle order couldn't come to the fore and that's the issue they have been facing for a while now. The stage was set to get at least 170-plus at one stage but they never took off. Rajasthan will be extremely pleased with their effort. Gowtham was excellent in the Powerplay to begin with while Archer stole the show at the death. The surface is a bit two-paced and we all know, Hyderabad bowlers have pulled off two back-to-back wins defending a total way below par. Can they make it three in a row? Or will it be a stroll in the park for the hosts? Join us back shortly...
Superb death bowling from Rajasthan has seen them restricting Hyderabad to a moderate total. Jofra Archer, needs to be credited here as he was absolutely on song towards the end while Stokes and Unadkat, too, bowled well to give just 31 runs off the final five overs and picked up 4 wickets. Incredible! After electing to bat first, Hyderabad didn't get a good start as they lost Dhawan very early. But Williamson and debutant Hales then shored things up as they kept ticking along well with both getting a reprieve each. The skipper, in particular, continued his purple patch as along with Hales he added 92 runs for the second wicket.
Jofra Archer to Wriddhiman Saha. A bye to finish things off! Saha goes across and tries to be cheeky as he attempts for a paddle scoop. Doesn't connect but manages to steal a bye as Buttler misses his shy at the striker's end. HYDERABD MANAGE 151/7!

Ben Stokes to bowl his third over.
Strategic break!
Krishnappa Gowtham to Manish Pandey. Tossed up delivery outside off, Pandey gets down to play the big slog but is done in by the slowness on the ball. Drags it off the inner half to deep mid-wicket and gets another brace to his tally. Gowtham finishes with excellent figures of 4-0-18-2!

Ish Sodhi removes his national team's skipper as he bags his maiden Indian T20 League wicket. Slips in the googly, it turns back in from a length outside off and also stays a touch low. Kane tries to cut but it goes through to Buttler who pouches it extremely low. Lovely take and they all go up in an appeal. Umpire S Ravi raises his finger. Williamson walks across and has a word with Pandey before opting for the DRS. Replays show there was a bit of wood involved and that will be it for the Hyderabad skipper today. Remember, he was given an early life when he was on 11 and he's making the most of it. Works this length delivery through mid-wicket and scampers through to the other end. Huge over for Hyderabad as 21 came off it.
Jaydev Unadkat to Kane Williamson. FOUR! Edged and away! There is no slip and Williamson is on a roll here. He runs to his right, dives and tries to take it with both hands but can't hang onto it. For a second it looked like he had taken it but good sportsman spirit shown by him as he immediately signaled that it was grassed. So both the batsmen out there have got a life, how costly is this going to be? The batsmen take a run.

Jofra Archer to Kane Williamson. Works it with the angle through square leg for a run.
Jofra Archer to Kane Williamson. EDGED BUT DROPPED! A chance goes abegging. Tripathi is the culprit. This is on a length around off, it shapes away a touch. Williamson tries to defend but gets an outside edge which goes towards first slip. Tripathi there dives to his right but fails to hang on. How costly will this prove? Williamson is the man in-form, not someone you want to be dropping. Also, the last time Tripathi dropped one was in Pune off Watson and the Aussie went on to score a century. What's going to happen today?
Jofra Archer to Kane Williamson. FOUR! Beautiful! Not a bad delivery but such is the class of Williamson that he puts that away. This is fuller and on middle, Kane shows the full face of the bat and drives it through mid on for a boundary.

Krishnappa Gowtham to Kane Williamson. Works it with the turn to get off the mark on the very first ball.
Kane Williamson is the next man in.
Krishnappa Gowtham to Shikhar Dhawan. OUT! CHOPPED ON! Gowtham draws first blood. Dhawan was unsure whether to play the sweep shot or to cut it and that brings about his downfall. Gowtham from around the wicket fires it around off. Dhawan first thinks about sweeping it but seeing the line, he tries to cut. However, even that shot was not on as the ball was too close to the off pole. In the end, he ends up getting an inside edge onto the stumps. So an early wicket for Rajasthan. Just the start they needed.
Dhawal Kulkarni to Shikhar Dhawan. On the pads again, Dhawan works it towards fine leg for a run. 14 from this over.

Dhawal Kulkarni to Alex Hales. FOUR! Bread and butter stuff for Hales. Not a good start by Kulkarni. This is short and outside off, Hales waits for it to come and then cuts it through point for a boundary.
Dhawal Kulkarni will bowl from the other end.
Krishnappa Gowtham to Alex Hales. Yes, he does! Once again angles it into the batsman. Hales works it through mid-wicket to end the over with a run. So just three from the first over, tidy stuff from Gowtham.

We are all set for the action to begin. Out come the Rajasthan players with the umpires. The two Hyderabad openers, Shikhar Dhawan and Alex Hales follow them. A new opening pair for the visitors and they will hope for them to provide a good start. Krishnappa Gowtham will open the bowling for Rajasthan. Here we go...
Ajinkya Rahane says they took two to three days off but they have practiced really hard in the last three days. Informs Ish Sodhi and Mahipal Lomror come in for Shreyas Gopal and Heinrich Klaasen. Ends by saying they too were looking to bat first.
Kane Williamson says it looks like a pretty good surface. Informs there is one change, Alex Hales comes in for Mohammad Nabi. Ends by saying they have adapted to the conditions well and they will hope to do the same here.
TOSS - Hyderabad win the toss and they opt to bat first. This is only the third time this season that a captain has decided to have a go with the bat after winning the toss.
PITCH REPORT - Brett Lee says it looks a good surface to bat on. Reckons spin won't play much of a part in the game. Informs there is decent covering of grass on the surface and the new ball bowlers should get a little assistance.
They though are up against a very strong Hyderabad side. They are on a 2-game winning streak and Williamson will want to make it three today, banking a bit more on his batsmen than his bowlers. A win here for them will see them go on top of the table for the time being. The last time these two met, the visitors blew away the hosts. Let us hope for an even encounter between bat and ball.
It is Super Sunday and we have two games lined up for you. First it will be Rajasthan taking on Hyderabad, followed by Bangalore locking horns with Kolkata. We welcome you to the coverage of the first game in Jaipur. The home side have been quite inconsistent so far. They have won three and lost three. Rahane will be eager for a win here today as it will take them into the top four. They will also be confident as they are playing at home where they have won 2 out of the three games they have played.
Done with this game. We now shift our focus to Bengaluru where the home team has lost the toss and will be batting first. See you soon with all the action.
Kane Williamson is elected for the Man of the Match award. He played a very responsible knock on a demanding pitch and helped his side post a decent enough total on the board. Not to forget his captaincy also. He continues to enjoy a good season.
Ajinkya Rahane batted well and batted through but failed to take his side over the line. He never kicked into the top gear which was the need of the hour and the sorry form of their power-hitters, Stokes and Buttler, cost them big time today. Once again the captaincy from Kane Williamson was top notch as he made smart bowling changes and showed proactiveness with his field placements. Courtesy this outstanding win, Hyderabad move to the top of the table.
Yet another fantastic piece of bowling effort by Hyderabad to defend the total. They planned their defense exceedingly well. Sandeep Sharma set the tone early and Siddarth Kaul capitalized in the middle overs. The latter also picked the key wicket of Sanju Samson to break his blossoming partnership with Ajinkya Rahane. The spinners also played their part in building the pressure. Rashid Khan didn't have the same kind of impact we are used to seeing from him but still, his contribution cannot be overlooked. He removed Jos Buttler who could have posed threat later.
Basil Thampi to Jofra Archer. Basil Thampi has done it for his side! Hyderabad defend another score and they make it three in a row! What a performance. Well done! Ball - Fuller delivery, curling back in, Archer drags it off the inner half towards deep mid-wicket and runs which counts for nothing. HYDERABAD WIN BY 11 RUNS!
Jofra Archer to face the final ball.
Basil Thampi to Krishnappa Gowtham. OUT! Straight down the throat of Dhawan! Spoons a simple catch to Dhawan who takes it and the celebrations in the Hyderabad camp begins...

Basil Thampi to Krishnappa Gowtham. Stays leg side of the ball and drills it hard to the man at cover inside the circle. Just a single. 16 needed off 4 balls.
Basil Thampi to Krishnappa Gowtham. FOUR! Good start to the final over for Rajasthan! Fuller delivery, angling in on middle, Gowtham clears his front leg and whacks it off the inner half towards deep square leg for a boundary.
Basil Thampi to bowl the last over. 21 is what is needed. It is Gowtham on strike. Can Thampi keep his cool?
Siddarth Kaul to Ajinkya Rahane. A dot to finish! Awesome from Kaul. He deceives Rahane with the knuckle delivery. All the hosts' skipper could manage is a swing and a miss.
Siddarth Kaul to Ajinkya Rahane. What was Rahane trying to do? He first tries to play the paddle but then sees the line is too wide outside off so he cuts it through point. Shakib comes across to his left in the deep and does well to stop it with his right boot. Good fielding again, two taken.
Siddarth Kaul to Krishnappa Gowtham. Gets way to across the stumps and flicks it through backward square leg for a single.
Krishnappa Gowtham is the new man in. He played a match-winning knock against Mumbai. Can he repeat the heroics?
Siddarth Kaul to Mahipal Lomror. OUT! Edged and this time Lomror is gone! Good take from Saha and Hyderabad are cruising. Lovely bowling from Kaul. He once again gives no pace, angles it wider than the reach of the batter. Mahipal Lomror swings hard at it but gets a thick edge which is taken with a dive to his left by Wriddhiman.
Siddarth Kaul to Mahipal Lomror. What an effort at the boundary line! Manish Pandey, that was sensational! Fuller delivery, slanting outside off, Lomror tries to muscle it down the ground but mistimes it towards long off. The ball still travels but Pandey at the rope keeps his calm as he leaps, catches the ball and shows good awareness to throw it back into play as the momentum was taking him over the boundary. It's taken upstairs and replays show it's a clean stop. Two taken.
Siddarth Kaul to Ajinkya Rahane. Short of a length delivery outside off, Rahane makes room and looks to split the gap between backward point and short third man but finds Yusuf at the former position. Only a single. This won't help the hosts. They need a boundary.
Rashid Khan to Ajinkya Rahane. Dropped short on middle, a flat-bat pull towards deep mid-wicket. Rashid finishes with figures of 4-0-31-1! Rajasthan need 27 from 12 balls.
Rashid Khan to Ajinkya Rahane. Rahane tries to be cheeky but doesn't connect! Attempts to play the reverse sweep but fails to connect. A dot ball!
Rashid Khan to Mahipal Lomror. Comes down the track, takes it on the full and works it through backward square leg for a single.
Rashid Khan to Mahipal Lomror. Slides in a googly, turning away from the southpaw who fails to put bat on ball.

Siddarth Kaul to Ajinkya Rahane. Goes deep in the crease, shuffles across and flicks it to deep mid-wicket to bring the equation down to 36 from 18 balls.
Siddarth Kaul to Mahipal Lomror. Fuller delivery, slower in pace, Mahipal clears his front leg but mistimes it back past the bowler for a single towards long on.
Siddarth Kaul to Ajinkya Rahane. Another knuckle delivery from Kaul, angling back in on middle, it's tucked behind square on the leg side for a single.
Siddarth Kaul to Mahipal Lomror. Good length, angling away, hit hard through cover but there is a sweeper in place. So only a run results.
Siddarth Kaul to Ajinkya Rahane. Opens the face of the bat and dabs it towards short third man for one.
Siddarth Kaul to Ajinkya Rahane. Knuckle delivery, angling in, Jinx shuffles across and wrists it towards wide long on. Pandey in the deep fumbles and concedes two.
