Mumbai Indians vs Kolkata Knight Riders Highlights And Cricket Score 37th Match - T20 Commentary

End of Over : 20.0 MI: 181/4

The visiting side will be quite happy with its comeback but Kolkata will have to bat well to overhaul this score and the opening stand will be very important. Do stay tuned for the run chase which will begin shortly.

Just as it looked like Suryakumar was looking to launch he was dismissed by Andre Russell in the 15th over. Mumbai needed a big finish and the Pandya brothers tried really hard but they failed to launch an onslaught as Kolkata's death bowling was pretty pinpoint. Even Duminy failed to get going. Mumbai wickets were shared by the West Indian duo of Andre Russell and Sunil Narine while rest of the bowlers were economical.

Mumbai have posted a decent score on the board but they could have easily scored more had they not lost the plot in the middle phase. Once again, Suryakumar Yadav led Mumbai's charge. He scored his fourth fifty of this season and laid the platform for his team. He got good support from Lewis who scored a 28-ball 43 and shared a 91-run opening stand. Kolkata made a mini-comeback with back-to-back wickets, but Yadav continued on his merry way.

Rohit Sharma feels they have a pretty simple equation to deal with. Adds that they need to bat well and post a good total and defend it well later in the evening. He says every day is a new challenge and they have to do well. Team needs to work hard and try to win those little moments which is what Rohit wants from his side. There are no changes in their playing eleven quotes the Mumbai skipper.

Dinesh Karthik says he wants to chase. He feels the wicket is good and should stay the same throughout the contest. Says young bowlers are learning from the overseas bowlers like Mitchell Johnson and he is someone who doesn't give a lot of advice to young boys and believes in empowering them to take their own decisions. He informs his side has got a couple of forced changes. Nitish Rana is fit and Rinku Singh makes way for him, while Prasidh Krishna gets a game in place of Shivam Mavi (injured).

TOSS - Dinesh Karthik calls tails and tails it is. Kolkata win the toss and they have elected to bowl.

PITCH REPORT - Brett Lee in his report says it is a beautiful wicket and has even covering of grass on it. In his opinion, it would be a traditional Mumbai wicket and the new ball should skid through. Square boundaries are short and the batters need to make full use of it feels the Aussie. Concludes his report saying it's an important game for both teams.

Hello and a warm welcome to our coverage of the first game of today's double-header. Mumbai playing host to Kolkata. Another important game for the hosts, they won their last game and need to build on it. For Kolkata, it will be all about strengthening their position in the table. A loss for Rohit's men will diminish their chances of progressing into the next stage, while Karthik's men won't be under similar kind of pressure as a loss here would only hamper their confidence. A mouth-watering prospect is in store for us. Do stay tuned as we bring you the toss and the other match related updates shortly.

End of Over : 20.0 KKR: 168/6

Hardik Pandya grabs the Man of the Match award for his all-round performance. That's all from this contest. But don't go anywhere as the second match of the evening is just around the corner. See you there!

Mumbai will be delighted with today's win. Their bowlers set the tone nicely in the Powerplay by picking two wickets and then in spite of the big partnership, they didn't lose hope. Hardik Pandya was the most impressive bowler while others also stepped up when it mattered the most. Altogether, a good performance by the defending champions.

Chasing a target of 182, Kolkata didn't get the desired start as their new opening combination (Lynn and Gill) faltered. Robin Uthappa though showed his class today with his wonderful knock and along with Nitish Rana, he raised an 84-run stand. Kolkata were looking in a fairly good position in the chase courtesy their partnership but the wicket of Uthappa turned things around in Mumbai's favour. Nitish Rana departed soon after that, followed by the wicket of big-hitting Andre Russell. Dinesh Karthik once again tried his best to pull off a win but fell short.

Superb effort by Mumbai! With their backs to the wall, they have once again come out trumps in a key encounter. It's two in two for them and so far they have done an excellent job in keeping their campaign alive. It's their seventh win in a row over Kolkata. Talk about dominance!
