Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Daredevils Highlights And Cricket Score 9th Match - T20 Commentary
1st Inn
2nd Inn
End of Over : 20.0MI: 194/7
Mind you, 195 is still a big target. Jason Roy is slotted in the side today. So, Delhi can hope to make a match out of it. Hoping is one thing, executing it is another. Will they do it? Or will Mumbai turn victorious in home conditions? All will be revealed soon. Join us soon!
Often sides become complacent when their top order fires collectively, so much, that the middle order fails to turn up. Delhi became disciplined towards the end, believing that they can stop the high-flying Men in Blue. Their belief turned into reality as the likes of Mohammed Shami, Trent Boult and Dan Christian choked the runflow then. The last of the trio was almost on a hat-trick as well.
Generally sides double their score at the 10-over mark. Mumbai seemed poised to do the same when they were 107/1 at that stage. But Rahul Tewatia and Glenn Maxwell ran through some economical overs after the Powerplay to slow the proceedings for the hosts. The leg spinner was impressive as he spun a web nicely. But his last over, where he conceded 19 runs opened the floodgates and the home team threatened to fly away with the game.
So! One innings done and Mumbai are pretty much in driver's seat at the moment. Maybe Delhi would be happy to have pulled things back towards the end and restricted them to a sub-200 score. It all started in a hunky dory manner for the hosts. They sprung a surprise when Suryakumar Yadav was promoted to open the batting along with Evin Lewis. The duo smashed their way to a quick 102-run stand, scoring 84 in the first 6 overs. In the process, they also brought up Mumbai's fastest fifty in the League. The former got his 2nd fifty in the tournament.
Suryakumar Yadav is now the leading run-scorer in this tourney. He is caught up for a quick word. He says that this is the first time he is leading the run charts and would do everything to score more. About his promotion, he says that the team management asked him about his willingness to open the batting and he readily agreed as he knows the conditions well. Ends stating that picking up wickets early will be the key.
19.62
Trent Boult to Mayank Markande. SAFE! Fuller outside off, pushed towards deep point. Since it is the final ball, Markande wants two and goes back for the second. Christian runs to his left and fires a good throw to the keeper, who whips off the bails in spite of the dive from Mayank. The TV umpire is called for, who rules it in the batter's favor after having a look. 195 TO WIN FOR DELHI!
A run out appeal against Mayank is taken upstairs.
19.51
Trent Boult to Akila Dananjaya. This is fuller around off, pushed towards mid off for one.
19.41
Trent Boult to Mayank Markande. Very full on the pads, Markande misses the flick and the ball goes off the pads towards fine leg. A leg bye taken. An appeal made to no avail.
19.32
Trent Boult to Mayank Markande. This ball is guided towards third man for a couple.
19.21
Trent Boult to Akila Dananjaya. Very full outside off, squirted away to third man for one.
Mayank Markande, the bowling wonder, walks in with the bat now.
19.1W
Trent Boult to Hardik Pandya. OUT! Mumbai are falling down like sixpence here. Now, their quest to reach 200 seems even further. This is a full delivery from Boult on middle and leg. Hardik Pandya flicks it straight to Shreyas Iyer at deep mid-wicket, who takes it crouching low. The pace was taken off this one and hence, Hardik couldn't quite get the power. Rohit Sharma isn't happy and is seen shaking his head in the dug out.
End of Over : 194 RunsMI: 187/6
18.60
Mohammed Shami to Akila Dananjaya. On a length outside off, Dananjaya has a feel for it but misses.
18.52
Mohammed Shami to Akila Dananjaya. Dananjaya hits it uppishly over covers for a couple.
18.40
Mohammed Shami to Akila Dananjaya. Banged short on the stumps, Akila ducks.
Akila Dananjaya, the debutant, walks out to bat at number 8.
18.3W
Mohammed Shami to Krunal Pandya. OUT! Krunal Pandya has to walk back. Clever stuff from Shami. Lets out a slower one on a length. Krunal walks across and looks to paddle it over short fine leg. It goes off something to Tewatia at that position who catches and puts in an unsure appeal. The umpire doesn't seem to have nodded as the batters continue running. Suddenly, the third umpire is signaled to. Then it becomes clear that Delhi have reviewed. On replays, it is seen that the inside edge is skimmed and then the ball lobs off the thigh pad straight to the fielder there. So, that's it for the duo of Pandyas in the middle as the older brother walks back.
What happened there? There is an appeal for a catch at short fine leg. It is taken upstairs. In fact, it becomes clear now that Delhi have taken the review.
18.21
Mohammed Shami to Hardik Pandya. A low full toss, Hardik couldn't take full toll of that. Blasts it down to long off for one.
18.11
Mohammed Shami to Krunal Pandya. Fuller on off, Krunal slinks down and smashes it straight to long off for one. Jason Roy is running from long off from one end to the other on the ground. He is the man with the fielding job even on this occasion.
End of Over : 187 RunsMI: 183/5
17.61
Trent Boult to Krunal Pandya. Krunal clears his front leg and looks to heave it away but does so only towards long on for one.

17.41
Trent Boult to Krunal Pandya. Full on the stumps, worked away through mid-wicket for one.
17.4wd
Trent Boult to Krunal Pandya. WIDE! Full and wide outside off, Krunal fails to put bat to ball.
Hardik Pandya is next in.
17.3W
Trent Boult to Rohit Sharma. OUT! Change in pace does it for Boult. Angles it away on a fuller length. Rohit looks to go downtown but ends up skying it high towards wide long off. Roy gets to his left and settles under it to take it safely. Mumbai's chances to finish on a high are getting hampered now.
Gautam Gambhir is out of the field for some reason and it seems Glenn Maxwell is in charge of things in the middle for now.
17.22
Trent Boult to Rohit Sharma. Yorker gone wrong. A low full toss on off, Rohit carves it through covers. Christian does well in the deep and saves two.
17.11
Trent Boult to Krunal Pandya. Full on middle, flicked away to mid-wicket for one.
Trent Boult is back on. Can he end the innings cheaper than he started?
End of Over : 179 RunsMI: 176/4
16.62
Mohammed Shami to Rohit Sharma. Rohit gets down the track and takes it on the full. Hits it through covers. Vijay Shankar in the deep covers good ground, puts in the slide and keeps it down to two. 9 runs off this over.

16.41
Mohammed Shami to Rohit Sharma. A low full toss on the stumps, blasted down to long on for one.
16.31
Mohammed Shami to Krunal Pandya. This ball is driven through covers for one.
Change in field. Third man comes in and mid off drops back now.
16.24
Mohammed Shami to Krunal Pandya. FOUR! Krunal joins the party now. Gets a full delivery in his zone. He blasts it over mid off for a boundary. Agony on Gambhir's face.
16.10
Mohammed Shami to Krunal Pandya. A yorker on off, driven towards covers for nothing.
End of Over : 169 RunsMI: 167/4
15.61
Daniel Christian to Krunal Pandya. Nope! No hat-trick yet again! Pandya works this full delivery through mid-wicket for one to get going.
5th consecutive hat-trick chance in this tourney. Krunal Pandya, the new batter, will face it. Will we see a treble today finally?
15.5W
Daniel Christian to Kieron Pollard. OUT! Another one gone! Timber! Two-in-two for Dan Christian. Christian lands it on a length from over the wicket. Pollard walks down and across to flick it away but misses it altogether. The ball goes on to hit the stumps after brushing his trouser and Dan leaps in joy. Delhi striking quickly towards the end now.
Kieron Pollard walks in next. He currently has 149 sixes to his name in the league. Can he hit another one today?
15.4W
Daniel Christian to Ishan Kishan. OUT! Castled! Magnificent when they come off, absolute rubbish when they don't - the innovative shots. Ishan Kishan looks to play the switch hit but misses. It is a high full toss from round the wicket. The ball doesn't make contact with anything apart from the leg stump. End of an enterprising innings from Kishan.
15.32
Daniel Christian to Ishan Kishan. On a length at a slower pace, Ishan wants to heave it but gets it off the inner half towards deep mid-wicket. Roy gets to his left and keeps it down to two.
15.24
Daniel Christian to Ishan Kishan. FOUR! No stopping Ishan! Full and outside off, he smashes it over the leaping cover fielder for a boundary. Ominous signs these for the touring side.
15.12
Daniel Christian to Ishan Kishan. Short in length, pulled away towards deep square leg. Boult runs to his right and keeps it down to two. Brings up the 50-run stand between Rohit and Ishan.
Time to plan some strategies! Mumbai seem poised to cross the 200-run barrier comfortably with the way they are placed currently. Ishan Kishan is going strong and Rohit Sharma is finding his feet now, knitting a 49-run stand. They find themselves in a strong position due to the good show from their openers Suryakumar Yadav and Evin Lewis. For Delhi, Rahul Tewatia had decent figures of 17/2 till he was carted all over in his last over (19 runs). Will the away side manage to restrict the hosts to below 200?
End of Over : 159 RunsMI: 158/2
14.60
Mohammed Shami to Rohit Sharma. Good yorker to end the over. Rohit Sharma only manages to squeeze it out. 9 runs off this over.
14.51
Mohammed Shami to Ishan Kishan. This one is pulled away to deep square leg for one.
14.44
Mohammed Shami to Ishan Kishan. FOUR! The adjective clever applies to the bowler this time. Shami bangs it short on the body. Kishan is cramped for room as he looks to pull. Seems to have gone off the helmet. The ball goes over the keeper and goes to the fence behind. Given as runs though.
14.30
Mohammed Shami to Ishan Kishan. Three in three! Another length ball slanting away, Ishan opens the bat face but finds Gambhir again at short third man.
14.20
Mohammed Shami to Ishan Kishan. On a length angling away again. Kishan looks to repeat the shot but hits it straight to Gambhir at short third man.
14.14
Mohammed Shami to Ishan Kishan. FOUR! Clever! Ishan Kishan is doing it easily here. Lets the length ball and a good pace come to him before opening the bat face. Beats the keeper as well as short third man and gets a boundary.
Mohammed Shami is back on.
End of Over : 148 RunsMI: 149/2
13.64

13.31
Daniel Christian to Ishan Kishan. Full on middle and leg, flicked away to deep mid-wicket for a single.

Dan Christian is back.
End of Over : 1319 RunsMI: 141/2
12.66
Rahul Tewatia to Ishan Kishan. SIX! Not a right end to the spell for Tewatia! Kishan is all over him in the last three balls, taking 16 off them. Gets down the track to his one and smashes it high and long over long on for another biggie. 19 off this over, spoils Rahul's figures.
12.56
Rahul Tewatia to Ishan Kishan. SIX! Power and confidence inspired shot! Tossed up ball on the stumps, Kishan switches stance in a trice and takes it on the full. Makes nice contact on the switch hit as the ball sails over the deep backward point fence.
12.44
Rahul Tewatia to Ishan Kishan. FOUR! Half-tracker! There is no place for that in this format. Ishan Kishan had ample time to go back and pull it away in front of square on the leg side for a boundary.
12.31
Rahul Tewatia to Rohit Sharma. Easily done. Rohit gets forward and drives this flighted ball to long on for one.
12.20
Rahul Tewatia to Rohit Sharma. Nicely tossed up, Rohit Sharma comes down the track and looks to defend. Gets an inside edge onto his front pad.

End of Over : 114 RunsMI: 111/2
10.60
Rahul Tewatia to Rohit Sharma. Driven towards the mid off region. 4 runs and a wicket off this one.
10.50
Rahul Tewatia to Rohit Sharma. Flatter outside off, guided towards short third man.
Interesting. As the Snicko was rolled in, there seems to be a slight spike. But the presence of the glove was ruled out in that Suryakumar Yadav wicket. Rohit Sharma seems to have seen the same from the dug out and had a word with the umpire after walking out to bat. Nothing doing though.
10.41
Rahul Tewatia to Ishan Kishan. Flatter and shorter outside off, cut away through point for one.
10.31
Rahul Tewatia to Rohit Sharma. Floated around off, driven to long off for one to get going.
Rohit Sharma walks in next at number 4.
10.2W
Rahul Tewatia to Suryakumar Yadav. OUT! Wicket lost, review stays! Yadav has to walk back after a good knock. This is a tossed up delivery on the stumps, Suryakumar looks to play the sweep but misses. Seems to be right in front of the stumps and hence the umpire raises the finger after the appeal. The batter has a chat with his partner and decides to have a re-look. There is nothing on Snicko to suggest the presence of bat. Hawk Eye shows that it would have just clipped the leg stick. Thus, the on-field call stays. Celebration for Delhi. Tewatia reaping rewards for his guile.
End of Suryakumar Yadav! He has been ruled out LBW but he decides to challenge the call. Only an inside edge can save him.
10.12
Rahul Tewatia to Suryakumar Yadav. Tossed up on the stumps, Yadav comes down and looks to heave it away. Loses shape as he does so and gets it off the inner half towards deep mid-wicket. A couple taken before a team-tagging effort saves the boundary.

8.6W
Rahul Tewatia to Evin Lewis. OUT! A cat has seven lives, this pair had some moments going its way and the association has finally come to an end. Rahul Tewatia strikes, finally! This is another wrong 'un on middle. Lewis comes down the track to smash it out of the ground, yet again. Slices it high in the air again. This time the ball travels only as far as Jason Roy at long off. He takes it safely to end the 102-run opening stand.

Glenn Maxwell to roll his arm over now. He has a bit about him says Nasser Hussain. The bloke is a fighter he opines. Let's see what he can do.
Strategic break! A much-needed one for Delhi as well as for my fingers. Mumbai have just teed off from the word go and Rohit Sharma's move of not opening the innings seems to have worked wonders. Suryakumar Yadav has looked good so far and has stolen the show even as Evin Lewis has attacked from the other end. How long before Delhi strike? Let's see.
End of Over : 73 RunsMI: 87/0
6.60
Rahul Tewatia to Evin Lewis. Yes he can and he does! Flatter on off, Lewis can only go back and punch it to the bowler. Just 3 runs off this one after a 84-run Powerplay.

5.66
Daniel Christian to Evin Lewis. SIX! Ho, ho, ho! I'm running short of adjectives now, not even 6 complete overs into the game. This delivery is blasted over the long on region for another maximum. 5.30
Daniel Christian to Evin Lewis. This ball is on the pads, kept out to the on side for nothing. Was the slower one.
5.24
Daniel Christian to Evin Lewis. FOUR! Top draw from Evin Lewis. This is overpitched from Dan. Lewis just delays his muscled square drive. Waits a second extra and opens the bat face to get this through point. Two boundaries to welcome Christian.
5.14
Daniel Christian to Evin Lewis. FOUR! Stand and deliver! Christian runs in from round the wicket and bowls it full at a gentle pace. Lewis just smashes it through the gap between mid off and covers for a boundary. That is a throwdown, says Nasser Hussain on air.

Such deliveries are all he requires to get back among the runs.
3.31
Shahbaz Nadeem to Suryakumar Yadav. Quicker on the stumps, driven to long on for one.
3.24
Shahbaz Nadeem to Suryakumar Yadav. FOUR! Just short, maybe! Fired on a shorter length around off, Yadav goes back and punches it uppishly back towards the bowler. Shahbaz Nadeem to Suryakumar Yadav. Flatter outside off, punched to covers.

1.62
Shahbaz Nadeem to Evin Lewis. Oh Delhi, why Delhi! A DROPPED CHANCE NOW! Not easy, mind you. Floated in line of the stumps, Lewis gets down to slog it away. Ends up getting a top edge. The ball seems to be flying over backward square leg. Boult runs backward from short fine leg and seems to have got a hand to it but couldn't hold on. What's more, the ball was rolling towards the fence but the Kiwi quick did well to keep it in play. The TV umpire has a look and is satisfied. A couple it is.

0.34
Trent Boult to Suryakumar Yadav. FOUR! Yadav is in a pretty good run of form with the bat and that shows. Boult is in search of some swing and hence is pitching it up. 0.20
Trent Boult to Suryakumar Yadav. Full around off again, driven straight to covers.
0.12
Trent Boult to Suryakumar Yadav. Off the mark straightaway, is Suryakumar Yadav! Gets a full delivery outside off, he drives it towards mid off. Gambhir there puts a dive to his left but fails to stop it. Slows the ball down for Iyer from covers to do the mopping up. A couple of runs taken.
It's 1600 local time, meaning, time for the bat-ball action to take precedence. Mumbai's openers haven't really set the stage alight so far. Will home conditions spur them to change the narrative? We'll know in a while as here's a first surprise! Suryakumar Yadav and Evin Lewis stride out with the bat. It's a new opening combination for the home team. Delhi would love to prolong their opposition's poor run for the opening pair. Trent Boult will steam in with a dismantling-the-opposition mindset. A slip in place. Let's roll!
Rohit Sharma, captain of Mumbai, wants to post a challenging score, now that they are batting first and then defend it later. Talks about doing the basics right. States that the small moments need to be won in order to turn the game in their favor. Ends saying that there are a couple of changes in their playing eleven. Akila Dananjaya comes in place of Ben Cutting and Hardik Pandya is fit and claims his place in the side instead of Pradeep Sangwan.
Gautam Gambir, the Delhi captain, reckons that it is a good wicket and is not going to change much. Says that they will look to restrict the opposition to as less as they can. Iterates that the talks didn't revolve around their loss in the previous games. Adds about wanting to look forward rather than pondering over the past. Ends confirming Jason Roy coming in for Colin Munro, before adding that Dan Christian also is in the side in place of Chris Morris.
TOSS - Tails is the call from Gautam Gambhir, Tails it is. DELHI WILL BOWL FIRST.
PITCH REPORT - Murali Kartik is downstairs along the track. He observes that it is evenly rolled and has a decent covering of grass. Opines that the climate is very hot and humid. States that the norm of winning the toss and bowling first should continue. He himself being a spinner, gives hopes to the spinners in the game, saying that there is a slight bit of dryness on the surface which should keep the tweakers interested.
Delhi, contrastingly, have had two bad games. Well, let's be a little less harsh as their second game was a rain-affected one. Ricky Ponting is at the helm of affairs for Delhi. Having been largely successful during his playing days, he would have a word or two to say to his boys in a bid to end the winless drought. We saw Jason Roy being given his cap, so in all likelihood, Colin Munro might miss out. We'll confirm the same in a bit.
Time for the first game of the four-game weekend dhamaka! It's the first game of this double-header Saturday where Mumbai take on Delhi at Wankhede. These are two teams who are yet to taste success in this season of the Indian T20 League. While the hosts have lost two close games, something they could have claimed to be in their favor for a large part. We are glad to have you with us for our coverage of this game.
End of Over : 20.0DD: 195/3
Rightly so, Jason Roy is the Player of the Match. He just took the chase by the scruff of the neck and largely looked untroubled. So, that's it from us from this game, but don't you go anywhere. The second game of this Super Saturday is about to get underway. Hyderabad will field first against Kolkata. It's something you wouldn't want to miss. Switch tabs to follow that game. See ya there!
Glenn Maxwell could do nothing more than hit a six and a four. But Shreyas Iyer then stayed till the end to ensure his side's win. Not to forget the two lives that he got, courtesy Mustafizur Rahman, who dropped two catches in succession. Mumbai used as many as 6 bowlers. This is a game where Mayank Markande, the leggie was taken for aplenty. That put his side off a bit and they couldn't really have any control even through Krunal Pandya's quick blows seemed to have brought the game in their favor. Rahman and Jasprit Bumrah also bowled economical spells but couldn't translate into a win for them.
In a run chase, it is important to start well and be abreast with the required run rate. Delhi did just that. They had the partnerships going even though only one batter really batted through. Gautam Gambhir stuttered and struggled his way in the middle in his stay. After he threw his wicket away, Rishabh Pant played some scintillating strokes to keep his side in the hunt. He missed his fifty by a mere 3 runs.
Ooooofff! Another day, another thriller! The Indian T20 League is making a habit of displaying close games, entertaining the fans apart from tiring our fingers. Mumbai will admit at the end of the day that they were outplayed by a certain Jason Roy. The English opener carried his bat to see his side through, thereby bringing up his first fifty in the League.
19.61
Mustafizur Rahman to Jason Roy. DELHI WIN! What an anticlimax! Mind you, the winning run wasn't in the most convincing manner. Rahman yet again lets out a slower length ball, Roy swishes across the line. Gets a top edge. But since most of the fielders are inside the circle, the ball clears mid off running backwards. That enables the batters to cross and hug each other in celebration. So, the away team gets off the mark in this tournament. They win by 7 wickets.
1 needed from 1! Super Over anybody?
19.50
Mustafizur Rahman to Jason Roy. DOT! On a length angling away, Roy looks to guide it away through short third man. Seems to have missed it as the ball goes to the keeper. They appeal to no avail. DRS used. Snicko shows nothing as there is a gap between bat and ball. Hence, Roy stays on.
WOAH! DRAMA! Review time! There is a caught behind appeal against Roy. Not given, hence, taken upstairs.
19.40
Mustafizur Rahman to Jason Roy. Another one! Slower and fuller outside off, Roy just cannot get bat to that. Misses. Do Mumbai and Rahman have it in them to defend this?
19.30

Mustafizur Rahman to Jason Roy. Knock FOUR off the target! This is bowled full and angled away from Roy. He reaches out and carves it over extra covers for a boundary. 7 needed from 5 balls.
11 needed from 6. Have Mumbai learnt from their previous experiences? Can they end up on the right side of the result? This is their third close finish on the trot. Mustafizur Rahman will bowl the final one. Fine leg is dropping back now. Square leg comes inside the circle.
End of Over : 195 RunsDD: 184/3

17.21
Mustafizur Rahman to Jason Roy. An appeal, turned down! Roy gets across to paddle it away but seems to have missed it. The ball rolls of his pads towards short fine leg. Rahman appeals as the batters cross. The umpire stays unmoved. In the interim, Bumrah takes the ball and fires a throw to the bowler's end. There's no one backing up there but an extra run doesn't result from the overthrow. Hawk Eye shows the ball to be pitching outside leg.
17.11
Mustafizur Rahman to Shreyas Iyer. Defended off the front foot by the batsman presenting the full face of the bat. One run added to the total.
After dropping two catches, Mustafizur Rahman is brought back to bowl. Can he change the game to their favor? 24 off 18 needed.

Jasprit Bumrah to bowl his third over.
Strategic break taken! After all the runs that they conceded, their run chase has been perfectly paced. As a result, Delhi find themselves just 35 runs adrift the target. They have 24 balls to get there. Will they or is there a twist in the tale?
End of Over : 1612 RunsDD: 160/3

The Pandya brothers combine to send Glenn Maxwell packing. Krunal serves it outside off, slower through the air. Maxwell, with the mood that he was in, looks to take him on and goes with an aerial stroke towards wide long off. Hardik covers good ground running to his left from long off. He knows he wouldn't be able to reach it. Hence, flings himself forward and takes that catch safely. Post that, he stands and signals that he BELONGS here! Terrific stuff that, one to be watched on loop.

Another surprise! Hardik Pandya is given the new ball to make use of. A slip in position. Here we go...
Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Daredevils Highlights And Cricket Score 9th Match - T20 Commentary
Trent Boult to Akila Dananjaya. This is fuller around off, pushed towards mid off for one.
Trent Boult to Mayank Markande. Very full on the pads, Markande misses the flick and the ball goes off the pads towards fine leg. A leg bye taken. An appeal made to no avail.
Trent Boult to Mayank Markande. This ball is guided towards third man for a couple.
Trent Boult to Akila Dananjaya. Very full outside off, squirted away to third man for one.
Mayank Markande, the bowling wonder, walks in with the bat now.
Mohammed Shami to Akila Dananjaya. On a length outside off, Dananjaya has a feel for it but misses.
Mohammed Shami to Akila Dananjaya. Dananjaya hits it uppishly over covers for a couple.
Mohammed Shami to Akila Dananjaya. Banged short on the stumps, Akila ducks.
Akila Dananjaya, the debutant, walks out to bat at number 8.
Mohammed Shami to Hardik Pandya. A low full toss, Hardik couldn't take full toll of that. Blasts it down to long off for one.
Mohammed Shami to Krunal Pandya. Fuller on off, Krunal slinks down and smashes it straight to long off for one. Jason Roy is running from long off from one end to the other on the ground. He is the man with the fielding job even on this occasion.
Trent Boult to Krunal Pandya. Krunal clears his front leg and looks to heave it away but does so only towards long on for one.
Trent Boult to Hardik Pandya. This ball is glided towards third man for one. Off the mark is Hardik.
Trent Boult to Krunal Pandya. Full on the stumps, worked away through mid-wicket for one.
Trent Boult to Krunal Pandya. WIDE! Full and wide outside off, Krunal fails to put bat to ball.
Hardik Pandya is next in.
Trent Boult to Rohit Sharma. Yorker gone wrong. A low full toss on off, Rohit carves it through covers. Christian does well in the deep and saves two.
Trent Boult to Krunal Pandya. Full on middle, flicked away to mid-wicket for one.
Trent Boult is back on. Can he end the innings cheaper than he started?
Mohammed Shami to Rohit Sharma. Rohit gets down the track and takes it on the full. Hits it through covers. Vijay Shankar in the deep covers good ground, puts in the slide and keeps it down to two. 9 runs off this over.
Mohammed Shami to Krunal Pandya. Very full again, Pandya carves it away through point and moves to the other end.
Mohammed Shami to Rohit Sharma. A low full toss on the stumps, blasted down to long on for one.
Mohammed Shami to Krunal Pandya. This ball is driven through covers for one.
Change in field. Third man comes in and mid off drops back now.
Mohammed Shami to Krunal Pandya. FOUR! Krunal joins the party now. Gets a full delivery in his zone. He blasts it over mid off for a boundary. Agony on Gambhir's face.
Mohammed Shami to Krunal Pandya. A yorker on off, driven towards covers for nothing.
Daniel Christian to Kieron Pollard. OUT! Another one gone! Timber! Two-in-two for Dan Christian. Christian lands it on a length from over the wicket. Pollard walks down and across to flick it away but misses it altogether. The ball goes on to hit the stumps after brushing his trouser and Dan leaps in joy. Delhi striking quickly towards the end now.
Kieron Pollard walks in next. He currently has 149 sixes to his name in the league. Can he hit another one today?
Daniel Christian to Ishan Kishan. OUT! Castled! Magnificent when they come off, absolute rubbish when they don't - the innovative shots. Ishan Kishan looks to play the switch hit but misses. It is a high full toss from round the wicket. The ball doesn't make contact with anything apart from the leg stump. End of an enterprising innings from Kishan.
Daniel Christian to Ishan Kishan. On a length at a slower pace, Ishan wants to heave it but gets it off the inner half towards deep mid-wicket. Roy gets to his left and keeps it down to two.
Daniel Christian to Ishan Kishan. FOUR! No stopping Ishan! Full and outside off, he smashes it over the leaping cover fielder for a boundary. Ominous signs these for the touring side.
Mohammed Shami to Rohit Sharma. Good yorker to end the over. Rohit Sharma only manages to squeeze it out. 9 runs off this over.
Mohammed Shami to Ishan Kishan. This one is pulled away to deep square leg for one.
Mohammed Shami to Ishan Kishan. Three in three! Another length ball slanting away, Ishan opens the bat face but finds Gambhir again at short third man.
Mohammed Shami to Ishan Kishan. On a length angling away again. Kishan looks to repeat the shot but hits it straight to Gambhir at short third man.
Daniel Christian to Rohit Sharma. FOUR! Not the ideal length to bowl at Christian's pace. Bangs it short on the stumps, Rohit gets inside the line and pulls it past short fine leg for a boundary.

Daniel Christian to Rohit Sharma. Full on the pads, flicked away through mid-wicket for one.
Dan Christian is back.
Rahul Tewatia to Ishan Kishan. SIX! Power and confidence inspired shot! Tossed up ball on the stumps, Kishan switches stance in a trice and takes it on the full. Makes nice contact on the switch hit as the ball sails over the deep backward point fence.
Rahul Tewatia to Ishan Kishan. FOUR! Half-tracker! There is no place for that in this format. Ishan Kishan had ample time to go back and pull it away in front of square on the leg side for a boundary.
Rahul Tewatia to Rohit Sharma. Easily done. Rohit gets forward and drives this flighted ball to long on for one.
Rahul Tewatia to Rohit Sharma. Nicely tossed up, Rohit Sharma comes down the track and looks to defend. Gets an inside edge onto his front pad.
Rahul Tewatia to Rohit Sharma. WIDE! Straighter one down the leg side, Rohit fails to flick it away. The umpire has to stretch his arms.
Rahul Tewatia to Ishan Kishan. Flatter outside off, cut away through cover-point for one.
Glenn Maxwell to Ishan Kishan. Worked away off the pads towards mid-wicket for one.
Glenn Maxwell to Ishan Kishan. FOUR! Misdirected delivery, price paid! Fired down the leg side, Kishan just helps it away fine down the leg side for a boundary.

Glenn Maxwell to Rohit Sharma. Milked down to long on for a single.
Glenn Maxwell to Rohit Sharma. FOUR! Rohit Sharma makes the bowler look rubbish with his fine touch, says Kevin Pietersen on air. This is flatter outside off by Maxwell. Rohit hangs back and deftly guides it just past the keeper for a boundary. Cleverly done.

Rahul Tewatia to Rohit Sharma. Driven towards the mid off region. 4 runs and a wicket off this one.
Rahul Tewatia to Ishan Kishan. Flatter and shorter outside off, cut away through point for one.
Rahul Tewatia to Rohit Sharma. Floated around off, driven to long off for one to get going.
Rohit Sharma walks in next at number 4.
Rahul Tewatia to Suryakumar Yadav. Tossed up on the stumps, Yadav comes down and looks to heave it away. Loses shape as he does so and gets it off the inner half towards deep mid-wicket. A couple taken before a team-tagging effort saves the boundary.
Glenn Maxwell to Ishan Kishan. Kishan lunges and defends this one with a straight bat. 107/1 at the halfway mark are Mumbai.
Glenn Maxwell to Suryakumar Yadav. Floated outside off, driven through covers for one.
Glenn Maxwell to Suryakumar Yadav. 2nd Indian T20 League fifty for Suryakumar Yadav! He was pushed up the order in this game and boy, has he delivered! Glenn Maxwell to Suryakumar Yadav. Driven down to long on for one.
Glenn Maxwell to Suryakumar Yadav. Floated outside off, pushed to covers.
The pint-sized dynamo, Ishan Kishan is the next man in for Mumbai.
Rahul Tewatia to Suryakumar Yadav. Quicker on middle and leg, Surya goes back and works it through mid-wicket to get to the other end.

Rahul Tewatia to Evin Lewis. Flatter around off, Lewis punches it through covers for one.
Glenn Maxwell to Evin Lewis. Floated around off, pushed to long off for one. Just 5 off the Maxwell over. The two overs post the Powerplay have seen some sanity in the proceedings.

Let's see.
Rahul Tewatia to Evin Lewis. Yes he can and he does! Flatter on off, Lewis can only go back and punch it to the bowler. Just 3 runs off this one after a 84-run Powerplay.
Rahul Tewatia to Evin Lewis. Play and a miss! Tewatia bowls a wrong one with plenty of loop. Lewis gets down to mow it over the on side but fails to make contact. Pant collects and puts in a stifled appeal. Three runs off the over so far, good start from Tewatia. Can he end well?

Leg spin time! Rahul Tewatia to bowl now.
Daniel Christian to Evin Lewis. SIX! Ho, ho, ho! I'm running short of adjectives now, not even 6 complete overs into the game. This delivery is blasted over the long on region for another maximum. It was the slower ball and Lewis picked it pretty early. 84/0 in the Powerplay for Mumbai, truly bossing the game here.
Daniel Christian to Evin Lewis. Full on off at a slower pace, dug out towards the bowler.
Daniel Christian to Evin Lewis. FOUR! Another one! This is seeming to be too easy for Mumbai. Now they go past Chennai's best score in the Powerplay in this edition - 75! Full again, outside off again. Lewis drives it through covers for another boundary. 12 off the first four balls.
Daniel Christian to Evin Lewis. This ball is on the pads, kept out to the on side for nothing. Was the slower one.
Daniel Christian to Evin Lewis. FOUR! Top draw from Evin Lewis. This is overpitched from Dan. Lewis just delays his muscled square drive. Waits a second extra and opens the bat face to get this through point. Two boundaries to welcome Christian.
Dan Christian is brought on to bowl now. Gambhir is left searching for options with the way his bowlers are taking the beating.
Mohammed Shami to Suryakumar Yadav. FOUR! Six to start the over, four to end it. 14 runs have come off this one. This is a low full toss on middle and leg. Yadav whips it away through mid-wicket for another boundary. Mumbai are on a roll here.

Mohammed Shami to Suryakumar Yadav. Another yorker, dug out towards covers.
Mohammed Shami to Suryakumar Yadav. FOUR! Oh... When a perfect yorker goes to the boundary, you will be forced to think if it is YOUR day indeed. This is a perfect yorker on off. Suryakumar gets really low and squeezes it out. Does so very fine and the ball goes to the third man boundary. Shami can just stand with his hands on his hips.
Mohammed Shami to Suryakumar Yadav. SIX! Welcome to Wankhede says Suryakumar with a biggie! Length ball angling in, Yadav gets inside the line and flicks it over deep backward square leg for a maximum.
Mohammed Shami! Can he bring some sanity in this game for Delhi?
Shahbaz Nadeem to Evin Lewis. Another one around off, punched back to Nadeem. Two dots to end the over.
Shahbaz Nadeem to Evin Lewis. Darted on the stumps, pushed back to the bowler.
Shahbaz Nadeem to Evin Lewis. WIDE! Fired down the leg side, EL misses the flick.
Shahbaz Nadeem to Evin Lewis. SIX! Tripe! This is Mumbai's fastest fifty in the Indian T20 League and what a gift this delivery was. Nadeem darts it on a shorter length seeing Lewis' front foot come forward. But the southpaw goes back in a trice and pulls it over the square leg fence for another biggie. Such deliveries are all he requires to get back among the runs.
Shahbaz Nadeem to Suryakumar Yadav. Quicker on the stumps, driven to long on for one.
Shahbaz Nadeem to Suryakumar Yadav. FOUR! Just short, maybe! Fired on a shorter length around off, Yadav goes back and punches it uppishly back towards the bowler. Nadeem is a bit late in getting down to his left and the ball passes from below his hand. Such was the power in that shot that the ball sped away to the fence.
Shahbaz Nadeem to Suryakumar Yadav. Flatter outside off, punched to covers.
Trent Boult to Evin Lewis. This time, he keeps it out safely to the on side for nothing.

Trent Boult to Suryakumar Yadav. Hurled on the pads, worked away to the on side for one.
Trent Boult to Suryakumar Yadav. FOUR! Cheeky and clever! Yadav arches back to this short delivery and ramps it over the keeper. The third man fielder got to his left but couldn't get to the ball before it crossed the fence.
Trent Boult to Suryakumar Yadav. The batsman rocks onto the back foot and punches the ball.
Trent Boult to Suryakumar Yadav. FOUR! Terrific straight drive! Full on the stumps, Yadav just times his push down the ground. The timing and the contact is such that the mid on and mid off fielders had no chance. Not your day Trent, says Pietersen on air.

Shahbaz Nadeem will share the new ball from the other end.
Trent Boult to Evin Lewis. Four Leg Byes! This is getting from bad to worse for Delhi in the first over. This is on a length on the pads, Lewis fails to tuck it away. But the ball goes off his thigh pads to the fine leg fence. 15 off the opening over, good one for Mumbai.
Trent Boult to Evin Lewis. FOUR! Intentions crystal clear! Boult lands this one on a length, Lewis hangs on the back foot and plays the pick up shot over square leg for a boundary. What a way to get going.
Trent Boult to Suryakumar Yadav. This delivery is glided towards third man for a single.
Trent Boult to Suryakumar Yadav. FOUR! Yadav is in a pretty good run of form with the bat and that shows. Boult is in search of some swing and hence is pitching it up. There is minimal movement inwards. Suryakumar covers it well and drives it down the ground. Beats a diving Gambhir at mid off to his right this time and collects a boundary.
Trent Boult to Suryakumar Yadav. Full around off again, driven straight to covers.
