The first match of the IPL 2018, between the Chennai Super Kings and the three times title winner Mumbai Indians, is expected to be a high-voltage one. Both the teams are ready for the nerve-wracking contest which is slated to happen on April 7 at the Wankhede. Rohit Sharma will lead team Mumbai Indians and MS Dhoni will handle the reins of the Yellow Army.
Talking about team Chennai Super Kings, the team will be looking forward to starting the tournament on a winning note as they make a comeback in the IPL after a couple of years. However, it would be interesting to see how the experienced side of Chennai Super Kings plays against the young side of Mumbai Indians.
On the other hand, Mumbai Indians would want to continue their winning streak against CSK. MI as a team has great batting line-up but with Harbhajan Singh going to CSK, the lack serious firepower when it comes to quality spinners. Anukul Roy, Akila Dananjaya, and Mayank Markande are the names who would be handling the spin department of the team.
Also, the team has two wicket-keepers in the form of Aditya Tare and Ishan Kishan who collectively have an experience of 51 IPL matches. Out and out, Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings would be an interesting contest to watch. Stay tuned to the space to get live updates on the match.

MS Dhoni, the winning skipper is down with Sanjay Manjrekar for a chat. On being asked about the crowd, he says that the fans have missed the Mumbai-Chennai contest and hence the turnout has been great. He reckons their aim was to not lose the game by a big margin as it affects the run rate towards the end. Credits Bravo for his innings and for the responsibility he shouldered. Michael Clarke now has a small talk with the injured Kedar Jadhav. The batter says that he is psychologically happy but physically hurt. He then goes on to say that he doesn't know if he'll be fit for the next couple of games or not. He too gives credit to Bravo as he brought them close to the total. States that he had told his skipper he will bat all the balls. On the six in the last over, he comments that he waited for one bad ball and then played his shot. Rohit Sharma, the Mumbai skipper states that he is not feeling good and gives credit to Bravo for the way he played. He adds that they have to take positives from this game and move forward. So, Mumbai begin their season with a loss yet again. Something they are making a habit of. Today they batted well and then bowled really well to have Chennai on the mat. Hardik Pandya dented the top order and then the young sensation - Mayank Markande turned things around by running through the middle order. They were on top for almost the whole of the game before a certain Dwayne Bravo struck them and then an injured Kedar Jadhav made sure that Chennai snatch a win from the jaws of defeat. Michael Clarke is there with Rohit Sharma for a chat...
It was all going Mumbai's way before Bravo unleashed. He first took on the big Kiwi, Mitchell McClenaghan and then smashed one of the best bowlers in this format - Jasprit Bumrah in the second last over for 20 runs to evoke life back in this contest. However, he fell on the last ball of the penultimate over, leaving his side needing 7 off the final 6 balls. There was another twist in the tale as Kedar Jadhav, who retired hurt due to a hamstring issue, walked out with tons of pressure on his shoulders. He played out the first three balls for a dot and then paddled one over fine leg to make sure his side can't lose from there. He then finished things off with a boundary to beat the defending champs in their own den, something that's not easy by any means.
If this is a sign of things to come, then ladies and gentlemen, gear up as season 11 has kicked off in a rollicking manner. Chennai have come back roaring to announce that their 2-year hiatus hasn't done any bad to them. A come-from-behind-win and they need to thank Dwayne Bravo for it. His side was down and out when they lost 8 wickets for 118 runs and had a mountain to climb.
Mustafizur Rahman to Kedar Jadhav. FOUR! And Kedar Jadhav does it for Chennai. A bad hamstring? What? It doesn't matter. He's taken his side through. The Yellow army from the dugout barges out to show its emotions. What a match! A thriller. Wow! Jasprit Bumrah to Dwayne Bravo. SIX! Another maximum from Bravo! This time over mid-wicket and it goes all the way. Bumrah dishes out a low full toss, Bravo gets underneath it and swings it over mid-wicket for another maximum. 20 already from the over. Surely Chennai can believe now.
Jasprit Bumrah to Dwayne Bravo. Bravo riding on his luck! Bumrah finally nails his yorker and Bravo just about manages to dig it out. But that is not all. The ball starts to roll behind and in fact hits the stumps. But the bails don't come off and DJ survives. Is this his night?
Jasprit Bumrah to Dwayne Bravo. Overthrows now! Adding insult to injury. Bravo plays this to backward point and takes a run. The fielder there goes for a direct hit and misses the target. The batsmen pick up an extra as the ball runs to the deep.
