Two games that Punjab have lost this season, on both occasions, they were dismissed inside 20 overs. We will have an interesting contest on our hands, provided the visitors play to their potential. Do stick around with us as we bring you the toss and other match related updates shortly.
We come to the end of an exciting encounter. Mumbai grab a significant victory and keep their hopes of making it to the playoffs alive. Move to 5th place, just one spot behind Punjab. Moving on, there's a double header on the 5th of May. The first one is between Chennai and Bangalore in Pune at 1600 local (1030 GMT), which will be followed by the Hyderabad-Delhi clash in the former's den at 2000 local (1430 GMT). Please do join in for Super Saturday. Cheers!
Suryakumar Yadav is the Man of the Match for this game. His calm and fluent fifty provided Mumbai a brisk start and laid the platform for the others to come and take advantage of.
Possibly the break made Punjab a little rusty. Their over-reliance on Chris Gayle and KL Rahul was exposed tonight. The two provided a solid start, but the innings fell apart after their departure. If it wasn't for Marcus Stoinis' last-over heroics, the hosts wouldn't have even got to a fighting total. With the ball, they were on top for the most part, with everyone doing their bit, but Krunal Pandya's late onslaught aided by Rohit Sharma's own little cameo, became their undoing. Some work to be done for the home side, but Mumbai will rejoice.
Everyone in the city of Bollywood will know this, but the importance of this win cannot be understated for the visitors. They had a stiff task ahead of them. Evin Lewis and Suryakumar Yadav (who scored a fifty) started the chase with 175 to gun down. The former departed in the Powerplay, but the latter combined with Ishan Kishan to take things in their stride. A couple of wickets were lost in quick succession, but Hardik stepped in to score a few lusty blows. The real damage, however, and the fatal blow, was done when the other Pandya walked in. Krunal's blitzkrieg and his stand of fifty in 18 balls along with skipper Rohit Sharma was enough to see their side across the finish line.
Andrew Tye to Krunal Pandya. FOUR LEG BYES! And that's it, the job is done. MUMBAI WIN BY 6 WICKETS! The final runs didn't come in the most desirable manner, but nobody cares, especially the Mumbai dugout. Tye spears it full around off, Krunal swings and misses. It goes off his back pad and away to the third man boundary. The Punjab players appeal for a leg before, but the umpire remains unmoved.

Andrew Tye comes back into the attack.
Marcus Stoinis to Krunal Pandya. SIX! That's a biiiiiigggggg hit! Krunal Pandya is taking it to Marcus Stoinis. 20 off the over. Just ahead of a length on middle and off, the slower one, Krunal gets his front foot out of the way and launches it high and handsome over long on. Maximum! 16 needed to win from 12 balls now, very much in Mumbai's reach.
Marcus Stoinis to Krunal Pandya. FOUR! Juicy full toss, Krunal says thank you for the gift and puts it away. On the pads, he whips this with the wrists behind square leg. Nobody out there, it's another boundary.
Marcus Stoinis to Krunal Pandya. FOUR! Now Krunal joins in on the action. Width offered outside off, the southpaw doesn't need any second invitation to go after this. He crashes it through the covers and finds the fence.
Marcus Stoinis to Rohit Sharma. Waits for the ball to come to him as he dabs it just wide of backward point and rotates strike.
