Delhi Daredevils vs Rajasthan Royals Highlights And Cricket Score 32th Match - T20 Commentary
Update 2325 local - So the news is that, Maxwell's wicket was the last of Delhi's innings. Play will resume at 2330 and the match will be a 12-over game. The target for Rajasthan is 151! Harsh?
Update 2315 local - Good news, folks! The covers are now coming off slowly and rain has stopped for now. Trent Boult and the other guys are seen practicing their bowling. We presume that this will be the end of the first innings. We will keep you posted of further details.
So, let's have a little recap of the innings. Delhi will be quite happy with how much they have on the board. After being put into bat, Munro was dismissed in the very first over by Dhawal, but then Shaw and Iyer started firing away. The former got out 3 short of a fifty, but the skipper continued the onslaught with Pant. The two blazed past their fifties, securing a mammoth 92-run stand between them. Unadkat then got the both of them in a single over, and then struck again in his next to get rid of Shankar. That somewhat pulled things back, but Delhi still will feel like the happier side. Now, it remains to be seen for how long the rain continues. Stay tuned for further updates...
Update 2300 local - So, Maxwell has been given out and the covers are on. The rain is back to ruin all of our nights. Expect the innings break to declared shortly.
Jofra Archer to Glenn Maxwell. OUT! Very strange from Maxwell. The way he took the review seemed like he got a definite inside edge, but nothing of that sort. In the blockhole from Archer on leg, Maxwell misses his flick and gets struck low on the pads. The players appeal and the umpire raises his finger. Maxwell decides to take it upstairs. Replays show us that there was no wood on it and the ball would have crashed into the leg stump.
As we wait for the third umpire, the rain has started to get heavier and the players have gone off the field.
A review for LBW has been taken up. Maxwell is the man concerned but he thinks he has got an inside edge to it as he straightaway opts for the review.

We hope the rain stays away for the course of the night. For now, let's get to the cricket.
Update 2115 local - Yessssssss!!!! So the game will begin at 2130 local time. It will be an 18-overs-a-side game, so just 2 overs lost. This is great to see.
Update 2042 local - Good news prevails finally. The word is in that the inspection will be at 2110 local time. Fingers crossed for more positive news.
Update 2034 local - The rain has lessened out, the super soppers are doing its thing. And the moment all this was going on, there was a BIG FLASH OF LIGHTNING. So, some good and some bad news simultaneously. Let's hope the good takes over.
Update 2007 local - Don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but it is coming down heavier than before now. Remember, last time these two teams faced off, it was a rain-hit affair as well. Only 6 overs were played. Needless to say, we might be in for a long wait.
Oh, dear... we have some sorry news for you! Something that even we do not like to hear but... The covers have come on and covered the 22 yards. It is not raining heavily but there is a slight drizzle. We hope it is just passing showers and play begins soon. My mate here is a Liverpool fan and wants to go home early to watch them get knocked out.
Shreyas Iyer, the Delhi skipper, states that it will be easier to bat in the first innings and reckons that dew won't be coming in during the latter stages of the game. He says that they have learned a lot from the last game and are positive for today. Ends saying that Shahbaz Nadeem comes in for Rahul Tewatia.
Ajinkya Rahane, the Rajasthan skipper, states that the wicket looks good and won't change during the match. He also adds that they back their bowlers to do good. Reckons that they are playing good cricket and the mood in the camp is good. Opines that the boys are ready for the game and ends by saying he has made two changes in his team - D'Arcy Short and Shreyas Gopal come in for Ish Sodhi and Mahipal Lomror.
TOSS - Rahane calls it right and and opts to field first.
Hello and welcome to Match 32 of the Indian T20 League. Delhi welcome Rajasthan to their turf. They have revenge on their minds as the last time they faced, rain played spoilsport. Today there is no sign of rain but it was quite windy. There was a wind-storm a couple of hours ago. Hope it won't affect the game. Lots on stake for the hosts as a loss here may end their sorry campaign. The visitors will hope their big names Ben Stokes and Jaydev Unadkat come to the party and pray that Jofra Archer continues his purple patch. Toss and team news on your way.
We come to the end of this exciting clash. Delhi got over the line and earn vital two points for themselves, lifting them to sixth place in the table. Rajasthan moves down to seventh place with this loss. Moving on, on the 3rd of May, we have Kolkata hosting Chennai at Eden Gardens. The action begins at 2000 local (1430 GMT), so do join in for that. See you folks then!
Rishabh Pant has been handed over the Man of the Match award for his scintillating knock in the first innings. His 69 off 29 was vital in his side getting to a daunting total, but more than that, it was the momentum his knock provided which swung the tide in his team's favour.
D'Arcy Short struggled a lot for the most part, but his onslaught in his fellow countryman's (Glenn Maxwell) over, where he scored three consecutive maximums, put the visitors back on track somewhat. Krishnappa Gowtham and Rahul Tripathi took it deep and tried to get their side over the line, but it just wasn't meant to be. Earlier in the evening, before the rain intervened, Delhi powered themselves close to 200 on the back of fine knocks from Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant. The revised target then came in and Delhi got the job done with the ball.
Phew! What a thrilling end to this rain-hit encounter. Went right down to the wire and Rajasthan almost got a victory out of the jaws of defeat. With the revised target, the away side needed 151 to win in 12 overs and Jos Buttler got them away to the perfect start. Scored a fifty in absolutely no time and put Rajasthan in a good position to clinch this. But, after his departure, the wickets kept falling and the asking rate crept up quite a lot.
Trent Boult to Krishnappa Gowtham. He can't! Trent Boult holds his nerves. Been a terrific over from the Kiwi. Keeps it outside off on a full length, Gowtham lofts it over covers. Just the single and that's it. DELHI WIN BY 4 RUNS!
Trent Boult to Krishnappa Gowtham. DROPPED and FOUR! Rajasthan can still win this. Need one big hit. Full and in the slot, Gowtham lofts it high over mid-wicket. Iyer out in the deep, gets under the ball, tries to take it but it goes through his hand. One bounce and over the rope. Six needed of the last ball! Can Gowtham put this away?
Jofra Archer is out to bat.
Trent Boult to Rahul Tripathi. OUT! Tripathi is run out. All but over now? Surely? Or is there still a twist in the tale? Full outside off, Tripathi swings and misses and both batsmen once again take off for the run. Pant throws it back to Boult who takes the bails off at his end with ease.
Trent Boult to Krishnappa Gowtham. Excellent delivery from Boult. Spears it full and wide outside off again, Gowtham swings and gets an inside edge behind. Tripathi runs and his partner responds. The run is completed.
Trent Boult to Krishnappa Gowtham. Boult does well. Fires it full and wide outside off, away from Gowtham's arc who prefers the leg side. It's lofted over covers and two runs are taken as the men in the deep mop it up.
Trent Boult to Rahul Tripathi. Good length ball on middle stump, Tripathi gets down on one knee and sweeps it through square leg. Wants the second, but will have to settle for just one.
Trent Boult to Rahul Tripathi. Wide! Full and well outside off, Tripathi leaves it alone. It's across the tramline, so a wide is signalled.
Trent Boult to bowl the final over. He has 14 runs to defend.
Liam Plunkett to Krishnappa Gowtham. SIX! Krishnappa Gowtham is keeping the fight alive! What a hit, my man. He picks up the length early, it's a little shorter in length, so he swivels and pulls it over mid-wicket and sends it sailing into the stands.
Liam Plunkett to Krishnappa Gowtham. FOUR! Lucky runs but it's all the same. Short of a length, Gowtham swings and gets a top edge over the vacant slip cordon for a boundary.
Liam Plunkett to Rahul Tripathi. Fullish outside off, Tripathi slaps it aerially towards long on and crosses over.
Liam Plunkett to Rahul Tripathi. Not out! Cutter on middle and leg, coming in, Tripathi gets low to sweep but is hit on the pads. Big appeal goes up but the umpire says no. Plunkett runs in and takes the catch thinking there might be an inside edge. Rahul is out of the crease, so Liam looks to run him out but misses. Iyer wants to review, maybe thinking he can get his man here. Replays show there was no edge and the ball would have been missing leg stump.
Delhi use the review. Maybe for the lbw? Or the inside edge? Not sure. Both will be checked either way.
Liam Plunkett to Rahul Tripathi. FOUR! Finds the fence. Excellent placement. Short ball angling in on the body, Tripathi with a little swivel pulls it over backward square leg for a boundary.
Liam Plunkett to Rahul Tripathi. Slower length ball outside off, Tripathi swings and misses.
Liam Plunkett returns to the attack.
Glenn Maxwell to Rahul Tripathi. Cut towards short third man where Mishra makes a decent stop moving to his right. Single taken. 30 needed in 12.
Glenn Maxwell to Rahul Tripathi. Quicker and shorter on off, Tripathi gets low and drags the heave through mid-wicket. They run hard and come back for the second. Boult fires the throw at the bowler's end, when he should have gone the other way. Pant is furious.
Krishnappa Gowtham comes in next.
Glenn Maxwell to D'Arcy Short. OUT! After a struggle, Short departs, but he's at least given his side a chance here. Full on the stumps, he tries to go on the leg side and clear mid-wicket. Gets a leading edge which spoons up at short third man. Avesh Khan there takes a simple catch.
Glenn Maxwell to D'Arcy Short. SIX! Three in three! Well, well, well... Is this the over Rajasthan pull things back? Short ball outside off, Short camps back and smacks this over the wide long off fence for a maximum.
Glenn Maxwell to D'Arcy Short. SIX! 12 in the first 2. Short finally finding his groove? Full and right in his arc, Short skips down and smokes it over long on for a flat biggie.
Glenn Maxwell to D'Arcy Short. SIX! Perfect start to the over for Rajasthan. Short ball on middle, Short slogs it high and handsome over square leg for half a dozen.
Glenn Maxwell back on.
Rahul Tripathi to bat next.
Trent Boult to Ben Stokes. OUT! Not Stokes' night tonight. Full toss on the stumps, Stokes has no option but to go big. Attempts to clear the mid-wicket fence but can only get it as far as Vijay Shankar in the deep who takes it safely. Rajasthan need 51 to win in 18 deliveries.
Stokes is caught out in the deep. Perhaps though, the full toss is a bit too high. The umpire wants to make sure and so, refers it upstairs.
Trent Boult to D'Arcy Short. Worked away through the square leg region. One run to the scoreboard. Team 100 up for the visitors.
Trent Boult to D'Arcy Short. FOUR! Off the edge but it's a much-needed one. Full on leg, Short swings and inside edges it past the leg stump, then the keeper, away to the fine leg fence for a boundary.
Trent Boult to Ben Stokes. Yorker swinging on the stumps, Stokes backs away, shows all three stumps and drills it to long off for one run.
Trent Boult to Ben Stokes. Wide! Full and wide, down the leg side, Stokes flicks and misses.
Trent Boult to D'Arcy Short. Full delivery angling in on the pads, Stokes is off the mark with a flick through backward square leg. The fielder in the deep mops it up and keeps the batsmen to just one.
Ben Stokes will be the new man in.
Trent Boult to Sanju Samson. OUT! Trent Boult removes the dangerous Sanju Samson. Comes from around the wicket and bowls a cutter on middle and leg, Samson lofts it over mid-wicket. Lot of height, clearly not enough distance. Colin Munro comes running in from the deep and takes a superb catch. It was swirling in the air, needed to judge it well. Nicely done.
