DD beat MI by 11 runs | Delhi Daredevils vs Mumbai Indians, Highlights And Cricket Score 55th T20 Match
Indian Premier League, 2018
Date: May 20, 2018 Start Time: 16:00 IST | 10:30 GMT | 16:00 LocalVenue: Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi
Eyeing a play-off berth, defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will take on Delhi Daredevils (DD) in a must-win game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Ferozshah Kotla. While Delhi have nothing to lose after being already out of the race for the play-offs, the Rohit Sharma-led side still have a chance to advance to the next stage, which only a win in their last league encounter and better net run-rate (NRR) could guarantee them.
Apart from Mumbai, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) share 12 points each and with a sole match remaining for them, any of the four could make to the final four.
With the race for the play-offs becoming an interesting scenario, Mumbai will have to register a win with a huge margin to further boost their chance. After a lackluster show in the first half of the season, Mumbai finally shifted gears to win four of their last five games, keeping themselves alive in the cash-rich league.
In their last game, Mumbai pipped Punjab by a meagre three-run margin. However, what could be a major relief for the team management would be Keiron Pollard finding his touch back.
After failing in the previous games, the Caribbean all-rounder blasted a 23-ball 50 to help Mumbai reach a competitive total. Mumbai's batting mostly relies on opener Suryakumar Yadav, who as amassed 500 runs 13 innings averaging around 38. He has found support from his partner Evin Lewis but, only on few occasions.
Both the openers now carry the responsibility of handing a decent start to Mumbai, either to chase or for putting a good total on board.
However, Mumbai's middle order failed miserably including skipper Rohit. Barring Rohit's match-winning knock against Bangalore, the Mumbai skipper has failed to live up to the expectations this season, accumulating 334 runs from 12 innings.
The Pandya brothers -- Hardik and Krunal -- will also need to dish out something special if they are to stand any chance of making it to the final four.
In the bowling department, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik and left-arm pacer Mitchell McClenaghan will have to bowl accurately to get rid of the Delhi batsmen.
Delhi meanwhile, will be aiming to end their IPL 2018 campaign on winning note. The Shreyas Iyer-led side will also be flying high on confidence after thrashing a star-studded Chennai Super Kings by 34 runs here on Friday.
Lying at the bottom of points-table with just eight points in their kitty, even a massive win will not guarantee them a play-off berth.
With the doors already shut for them, Delhi will look to salvage pride and shatter Mumbai's hopes of reaching the next stage.
Delhi, on the other hand, will once again hope to entertain the fans with fireworks from Rishabh Pant, skipper Shreyas Iyer, Prithvi Shaw and Jason Roy.
With nothing to lose, Delhi is expected to test their bench. In such a scenario, the likes of Manjot Kalra, Gurkeerat Singh Mann and Sayan Ghosh may get a look-in.
Delhi's bowling on a flat Kotla wicket was impressive on Friday as the likes of Trent Boult Sandeep Lamichhane, Avesh Khan and Harshal Patel restricted the strong Chennai batting line-up at just 126 runs. The bowling unit will once again look to continue the momentum for one final time this season.

That's it from us. Switch over to the next game where Chennai play host to Punjab. Thanks for joining us.
Amit Mishra has been awarded the Man of the Match for his terrific spell. His figures of 4-0-19-3 choked Mumbai and eventually, helped his side win the game.
The man who made a difference in the visitors' last game, Pollard, failed to deliver today. It was Maxwell's brilliance in the field which sent him packing. Cutting came in and hit a few lusty blows to keep the visitors on track. He had an opportunity to become the hero but failed to overcome the last hurdle. A disappointing end to an eventful season for Mumbai.
Mumbai got off to a brisk start but they also kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Lewis was going great guns and it seemed that he will take the game away from the opposition. However, Amit Mishra was in his elements and got rid of the big West Indian. The leggie bowled with needle-like precision and ended with figures of 4-0-19-3 to push the tourists on the back foot. Do not forget the other spinner from Nepal, Sandeep Lamichhane, who also took three wickets.
Delhi have played the party spoilers to shut the doors on Mumbai! Cutting's flourish at the fag end almost took them over the line but he was probably left with too much to do. This is only the second time since 2009 that the defending champions have failed to make it to the top four. Credit to the hosts for playing with authority.
Harshal Patel to Jasprit Bumrah. OUT! That's the final nail in the coffin! MUMBAI FAIL TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS! Fullish delivery, Bumrah goes hard at it but mistimes it towards long on. Boult takes a couple of steps in and takes an easy catch. DELHI WIN BY 11 RUNS!
Harshal Patel to Ben Cutting. OUT! That's probably the game for Delhi! Cutting gave it is all but had to do too much. Slower ball outside off, Cutting swings at it but ends up miscuing it towards deep mid-wicket. Maxwell is cool as a cucumber and takes it with ease.
Harshal Patel to Ben Cutting. SIX! Whoaaa! What a hit in a pressure situation! The big Aussie is in the mood tonight and is also displaying nerves of steel. Short delivery, sits up nicely for him. He pulls it with aplomb over fine leg and clears the fence with ease.
Trent Boult to Mayank Markande. OUT! Bowled 'em! Boult delivers a low full toss on off, Markande makes room and tries to go over covers but misses to find his stumps shattered. The 35-run stand from 25 balls comes to an end. Is it enough to take the visitors over the line?
Trent Boult to Ben Cutting. This is good bowling from Boult! He knows that anything in Cutting's arc will travel. He again bowls it well outside off, asking Ben to reach it. He throws his bat at it but slices it towards third man. Only a single results.
Trent Boult to Ben Cutting. Low full toss well outside off, Cutting swings his bat at it but ends up slicing it towards deep cover. Calls for the second and completes it with ease.
Trent Boult to Mayank Markande. Another run out chance missed! This time of Cutting. Can prove to be very costly. Markande drives this one towards covers and takes off as he has to. Shaw aims at the striker's end but misses his shy as Pant rushes and dives to collect the ball. The keeper seems to be in a bit of pain.
Trent Boult to Mayank Markande. A dot ball is worth in gold at the moment! Boult changes his angle and comes around the wicket. Bowls a length delivery around off, Markande tries to play it towards point but misses.
Trent Boult to Ben Cutting. Well bowled! Boult watches that Cutting's initial trigger movement is towards the off stump and smartly bowls a yorker outside off. The batsman can only jam it down to long off for a single.
Liam Plunkett to Mayank Markande. Nicely played but Cutting rightly refuses the single. Length ball outside off, Markande taps it through backward point. There is a single on offer but Cutting wants the strike. He believes in his abilities. 15 from the over, Mumbai need 23 from 12 balls.
Liam Plunkett to Ben Cutting. Full delivery around off, angling in, Cutting drags his heave towards long on. A run taken. Mumbai are right on track now.
Liam Plunkett to Ben Cutting. A slower bouncer, outside off, Ben looks to pull but misses.
Liam Plunkett to Ben Cutting. FOUR! Bang! Full on off, Cutting hammers this over his partner, down to long on for a boundary! 4, 6, 4! Are Mumbai pulling off a heist?
