This should be a relatively straightforward chase for the Indians. Their form in this series so far has no reason to suggest otherwise. However, there is the thing with the wicket slowing down in the second half. The Black Caps do have an extra spinner in the side for that very reason, so if the spin attack gets going, something could happen. Let's see how it unfolds in the run chase.

Everyone chipped in with the wickets, barring Kuldeep and Jadhav, who despite that, remained economical. The start was good, the middle overs saw the runs being choked and except for that phase where Taylor and Latham were striding along, everything was in complete control. Shami led the charge with a 3-fer, while Bhuvneshwar, Chahal and Pandya bagged 2 apiece. The all-rounder did well in his comeback game, having played his last one in September 2018 against Pakistan in the Asia Cup.

New Zealand may have their highest score of this series, but it still might not be enough. It's been another good show by India with the ball, especially after being asked to bowl. Rocked the top order early and were right on top. But, Taylor and Latham took things in their side and added 119 runs between them, with the former missing out on a ton and the latter stroking a fifty. Nothing before and nothing after came after them. It was a rather toothless batting display once more.

India captain, Virat Kohli, says they would have batted first as well as he feels the surface will get slower and slower as the game progresses. Mentions though he doesn't mind chasing as well. Wants to improve in the middle overs and personally wishes to up the scoring rate himself. Reckons that in the last game they should have got 340, but ended up with 325. Informs that there are two changes - MS Dhoni misses out with a sore hamstring and Dinesh Karthik comes in for him, and the other change is Hardik Pandya for Vijay Shankar. On Pandya, he adds that he brings great balance to the side as he's a great help with bat, ball and in the field too. On his wrist spinners, he reckons they played good cricket in England and Australia and that's largely down to Chahal and Kuldeep.

New Zealand captain, Kane Williamson, says it's a good surface which should play out well and slow down later on. Informs that there is one change as Mitchell Santner comes in for Colin de Grandhomme. States that given the surface, they wanted to play two spinners. Wants his players to bat longer and make full use of all the overs. Mentions that they want to focus on themselves and not worry about anything else. Ends by saying that it's imperative to create pressure with bat and ball and that's what they'll try to do today.

Hello and welcome for the 3rd ODI between New Zealand and India. A must-win contest for the home side as the series is on the line. The Men in Blue have been clinical and ruthless in the opening two games, outplaying the Black Caps in all departments. Will want to continue in the same vein today and put in another professional display. New Zealand are yet to show any stomach to fight.
