India vs England Highlights And Cricket Score 2nd Match - T20I Commentary
1st Inn
2nd Inn
End of Over : 20.0IND: 148/5
The England bowlers were up to the mark today. They executed their plans to perfection. Plunkett and Willey together were brilliant as they finished with combined figures of 8-0-35-2. Rashid provided good support. Jordan and Ball were a touch expensive but overall, Morgan will be happy with their effort. The wicket is a sluggish one but with the batting line-up England have, they should fancy themselves to chase this down.
So a big last over has seen India get to a total which is just above the average first innings score on this ground. England though will be happier of the two sides heading into the break. After winning the toss, they got off to the best possible start by picking three in the Powerplay. Raina and Kohli then steadied the ship with a 57-run stand but just as the two started looking dangerous, Rashid broke through. Kohli though continued but he too fell at the wrong time, three short of his half ton. But a quickfire 37-run stand between Pandya and Dhoni has given the visitors something to bowl at.

The English skipper collects the ball and tries to whip the bails but he fails to do so in the first go. Still, he somehow manages to remove the bails with his right hand while the ball is in his left. Morgan's first reaction is that he has missed an opportunity as he looks to the heavens but then turns to appeal. The umpire goes upstairs. And the replays show that Dhawan lost his bat before dragging it in and his foot was still outside the line. And it seems that since Eoin was in touch with the ball while taking the bails off with his right hand, the third umpire has given him that benefit of doubt. Debatable. End of Dhawan's innings, his sorry record against England in this format continues...

Mentions the idea was to let them play the spinners first and analyze what to do. Adds that they are playing fearless cricket, they are a young side and they are enjoying each others company. Ends by saying it's a challenge to bowl on smallish ground for the spinner, its a challenge to their character and he hopes they come good once again for them.
The England captain, Eoin Morgan says that he is looking to bowl first and put the pressure on India. Asserts that he would like to chase on a small ground. Adds that Jake ball makes his debut in this game and replaces Moeen Ali in the playing XI. Further adds that they need to get into their own and give it all as it is a must win game for them. Ends by saying that it's a contest between seam bowling and spin bowling.
Toss - England win the toss and elect to bowl.
Kuldeep Yadav was the main destroyer in the first match for the visitors, however, the hosts were not able to counter the other bowlers effectively either. The Men in Blue, on the other hand, look settled with the team Virat Kohli has decided to go ahead with. His problems diminished, even more, when KL Rahul played a ballistic inning in the previous encounter between the two. The likes of Shikhar Dhawan and other batsmen would also like to stay in the middle for a longer time if the opportunity arises. Nonetheless, it's going to be a power-packed game. The action starts in a while, keep a cuppa coffee handy and hang around!
Hello and welcome to the second T20I between England and India at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. The home team is hoping that their luck turns as bright and sunny as the weather here in the south-western region of their country. It's an important contest considering that the series is at stake and also their pride is at stake. They would like the in-form Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow along with other batters to come into their own as quickly as possible and fight back against the dangerous looking Indian bowling line-up.
End of Over : 19.4ENG: 149/5
That is it from this game! Now over to Bristol to find out who takes the T20I series. England were excellent today. They had plans for how they are going to play and executed them well. India on the other hand, did fight well but ended up being second best. The series is turning out to be how it was supposed to, a very exciting one and the excitement will continue on the 8th at 0200 local (0100 GMT). Till then, goodbye and take care.
Man of the Match, Alex Hales, says it was a much-needed win for them and he feels good after playing this innings. Admits he had to come up with a plan against Kuldeep as he has not faced him a lot before. Mentions they have good strikers coming all the way till the bottom and they all came good today. Credits the way the bowlers bowled today.
England skipper, Eoin Morgan, says the new ball bowlers set the tone for them upfront. Admits they were very happy with the total they had to chase. Credits the way Alex Hales played and he along with the rest built small partnerships which were very important.
India skipper, Virat Kohli, says he felt this total would have been a challenging one. Credits the way England batted. Reckons 15 runs more would have made a difference. Adds their batting Powerplay was not a good one. Ends by saying they are looking forward to the game in Bristol.
39 was needed from the last 4 and that is when Jonny Bairstow decided to step on the pedal. He hit two towering maximums of Kuldeep Yadav which saw the hosts needing only 23 from the last 3. But two brilliant overs by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umesh Yadav, with the latter taking Jonny's wicket, saw the Englishmen needing 12 in the last over. However, a biggie and boundary from Hales' bat from the first two balls of Kumar's over settled it.
Umesh Yadav struck twice in the Powerplay sending back both the openers. Chahal then struck in his first over and England were in trouble at 44 for 3. Morgan and Hales then joined forces and started to rebuild the innings. The two played themselves in and ensured the required run rate was always in tact. The duo added 48 and the home side were cruising. But a brilliant catch by Dhawan then, once again brought India back into the game.
We have a decider then! Willey did hit the winning runs but it was Hales who was the hero for them with an unbeaten half ton. He walks off to a standing ovation from his teammates and he deserves every bit of it. After bowling out India for a decent total, England got off to a flying start as Roy plundered 14 from the first over. At that time, it looked like the hosts would run away with the game but it wasn't to be.
19.41
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to David Willey. That is it! Willey hits the winning runs! It took just 4 balls for them to score the runs they needed in the last over. He runs after it and throws it back at the strikers end. The players appeal and the umpire takes it upstairs. Replays show that Dhoni dislodged the bails with his hands. Two runs added.

Umesh Yadav to Jos Buttler. OUT! Virat Kohli takes it this time and let me tell you this is a tougher chance than the one he dropped. How delighted he is! Well his celebration shows it all. The big fish, Buttler departs cheaply, a rare failure for him. Yadav is the man once again, we saw how good he was in the Indian T20 League in the Powerplays and he is continuing the good work here. This is slightly shorter than the last two deliveries. Buttler once again tries to clear mid off but this time too he fails to get the desired elevation. Kohli there runs to his right and takes it. 2.30
Umesh Yadav to Jos Buttler. Shorter in length outside off, Jos guides it to point.
2.21
Umesh Yadav to Joe Root. Full and on the pads, not a ball you want to bowl first up to a new batsman. He flicks it to deep square leg and gets to the other end.
Joe Root makes his way out to the middle.
2.1W
Umesh Yadav to Jason Roy. OUT! BOWLED 'EM! Got him in the first T20I and now gets him in the second. Umesh Yadav has the last laugh and he draws first blood. Brilliant by him, he bowls a pacey delivery which pitches on off and then jags back in sharply. Roy does not account for the inward movement as he tries to keep it out with a gap between bat and pad. The ball sneaks through and hits the middle stump. The Indians are ecstatic as they have got the dangerous Roy early.

We are back for the chase! Out come the English openers, Jos Buttler and Jason Roy. If they provide a similar start to the one they provided in the last game, then England should chase this down easily. India on the other hand will begin with Umesh Yadav. Here we go...
India vs England Highlights And Cricket Score 2nd Match - T20I Commentary
Jake Ball to MS Dhoni. FOUR! Short and middled! Ball persisted with the same length again but MS is up to it. He swivels and powers it through the square leg fence. The fielder at fine leg did make an attempt to get near it but the speed on the ball evades him. 22 runs came off the last over as India end up with 148/5.
Jake Ball to MS Dhoni. FOUR! Slapped! A bumper around off, Dhoni hangs back in his crease and pulls it straight past the bowler. The ball races to the long on boundary. This over has brought some happiness for India.
Jake Ball to Hardik Pandya. Shortish again from Ball, Pandya punches it to mid-wicket and gets a single from the free Hit.
Jake Ball to Hardik Pandya. Five runs! So many things happened on a single ball from Ball. He bowls a slower bumper and manages to evade the flashing blade of Pandya. However, Jos is undone by the bounce and fails to collect the ball behind the stumps. As a result, the ball goes to the boundary. And the irony is that, Jake Ball failed to keep his foot inside the line. He looks devastated by it. In the end, it's a no ball and four byes. Free Hit coming up.
Jake Ball to MS Dhoni. Short in line of the stumps, Dhoni pulls it to mid-wicket and changes strike.
Jake Ball to MS Dhoni. Wide! Down the leg side, left alone by MS. Wide signalled by the umpire.
Jake Ball to MS Dhoni. FOUR! Dismissed! A shortish ball around off, Dhoni just stays it from his crease, slaps it with a straight bat and gets it past the fielder at mid off. A boundary results.

Chris Jordan to MS Dhoni. Wide outside off, driven to mid off with power by MS. Liam there dives to his left but cannot stop the ball cleanly. As a result, two runs are stolen.

A run out appeal has been referred. Hales is the man in question but he does not seem confident.
