England vs India Highlights And Cricket Score 1st Match - T20I Commentary
1st Inn
2nd Inn
End of Over : 20.0ENG: 159/8
The pitch looks a belter to bat on but needs application to get runs. After the 14th over bowled by the chinaman, no other batter could hang around for long. Only David Willey hit a few to drag the team's total to 159. It has been a comprehensive performance from the Indian bowlers, now their batsmen need to chase it down to stamp their authority first up. The second innings start soon, hang around!
Oh boy! What a beginning to the tour of England for the Men in Blue. It started with the English openers getting into the attacking mode first up. Jos Buttler and Jason Roy put a 50-run stand to get their team up and running. However, once Umesh Yadav got the wicket of Roy, the floodgates opened. Buttler sprayed his shots all over the park in his 69 off 46 balls but couldn't stop carnage at the other end. The terminator, Kuldeep Yadav flighted the ball nicely and cleaned up the middle-order practically in one over. He took three in that and ended up with a 5-fer, his career-best.
19.62

Another cracker to follow the last one. Another wrong 'un, tossed up around off, Joe comes forward to push at the ball. It sneaks past the outside edge and goes to Dhoni. He fumbles it initially but gathers it eventually and removes the bails. The decision has been taken to the third umpire but the Indians are already celebrating. Replays find Root short and Dhoni now has the most stumpings in T20Is. Three wickets in four balls and Yadav is on a hat-trick here.

Toss - Up goes the coin and it lands in the favor of India. They opt to bowl first.
Pitch Report - Sanjay Manjrekar along with Deep Dasgupta have a look at the pitch. They report that there is no grass on the pitch, it looks brown and a belter of a track. Adds that there's a lot heat as well and it almost feels like Sharjah or Dubai. Dasgupta ends by saying that the boundaries are long on either sides which should aid the spinner.
India on the other hand, are also entering the series on a string of strong performances and we can expect a cracking contest between the two. Will the English batsmen tackle the spin twins in the opposition? Will Bumrah be missed? Can the English spinners provide the same magic as they did against the Kangaroos? All the questions will be answered shortly.
The hosts head into the game as slight favorites as they play in familiar home conditions. Also, their confidence will be sky-high as they head into the contest after inflicting a whitewash on the Aussies.
The wait is over, we are moments away from the first T20I between England and India at Old Trafford, Manchester. Arguably the two best sides going around at the moment will lock horns. How excited are you? Well, I just can't wait for the first ball to get underway. Welcome to the coverage.
End of Over : 18.2IND: 163/2
So that is it from this game! India have won their first T20I against England in England due to which they have also taken a 1-0 lead in the series. England on the other hand, will somehow have to come up with a solution on how to play Kuldeep Yadav. There are still quite a few days for the next game which will be played on the 6th of July at 0200 local (0100 GMT). Will the visitors once again blow the hosts away or will the home side fight back? Join us to find out. Till then, goodbye and take care.
Man of the Match, Kuldeep Yadav, says it is the perfect start to his first tour in England. Reckons the wicket suited him and he stuck to bowling line and length. Adds further he looked to land the googly in the perfect area and it went well for him. Mentions Kohli and Dhoni guided him well and he is happy to play under them. Ends by saying he will hope to continue his form.
India skipper, Virat Kohli says they were very convincing in this game. He is happy about the youngsters stepping up. Praises Rahul and Kuldeep for the way they played. He reckons Kuldeep's over changed it for them. He feels England scored at least 30 or 40 less than what they should have.
England skipper, Eoin Morgan starts by saying India played really well. Adds further the conditions were good and India fought back really hard. Acknowledges the knock of Rahul. Admits they failed to take all the chances that came to them and they can't afford to do that when they are defending an average total. Ends by saying India outplayed them in this game.
The England bowlers had no answers to the onslaught. The pacers were taken to the cleaners and the spinners, from whom a lot was expected, also could not deliver. Rashid and Willey did bowl well but when you are defending a total which is below par you need everybody to chip in which was not the case for England in this game.
Chasing 160, India lost Dhawan early. Rahul then joined forces with Sharma and the two plundered the bowling. More Rahul than Rohit who was happy to play second fiddle. The duo added 123 in just 71 balls which turned the tide completely in India's favour. Rohit fell 8 shot of his half ton but Rahul continued. He along with Kohli ensured there were no further hiccups. The latter got to his ton while the skipper hit the winning runs in style.
A mockery is what India have made of this run chase and it is courtesy a brilliant ton by Rahul. He walks off to a standing ovation from the crowd. He along with Kuldeep, who took a fifer, has made this English side look really ordinary.
18.26
Moeen Ali to Virat Kohli. SIX! India have done it, they have won by 8 wickets. A complete performance from them. Kohli had enough of it as the bottom hand comes into play. The ball easily goes up and over the long on boundary for a maximum.

England vs India Highlights And Cricket Score 1st Match - T20I Commentary
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to David Willey. Angled ball wide outside off, Willey flashes and gets it uppishly to covers. The fielder from the deep runs in but can't stop the batsmen from taking two. Just 8 from the final over and ENGLAND FINISH ON 159!

Kuldeep Yadav to Jos Buttler. Yes, he does! Only a single. This is full and fast outside off, Buttler only hits it down to long off for a run. So once again, even though a boundary is hit in the over it does not go for a lot. Just 5 from it and just 27 from the last 5 overs.

Dhoni appeals but he does not seem to confident. The umpire takes it upstairs. Replays show that Buttler is well in. A couple to end the over, another good one for India, just 6 from it. 9 from the last 2.
An appeal for a run out has been taken upstairs. Jos is the man in question. He seems to be in though.

A length which Roy has not been comfortable with. He goes for the pull but the shot selection is wrong as the ball is not short enough to play it. The ball takes the bottom edge and goes onto hit the leg stump behind. Umesh Yadav is pumped up and so are the Indian players. Roy starts walking back to the pavilion but he has given a brilliant start to England.
Umesh Yadav to Jos Buttler. In the air... but Chahal does not go for the catch. Hence, it lands safe. A bumper and a pacy one. Buttler is slightly surprised by it as he goes for the pull. The England bowlers had no answers to the onslaught. The pacers were taken to the cleaners and the spinners, from whom a lot was expected, also could not deliver. Rashid and Willey did bowl well but when you are defending a total which is below par you need everybody to chip in which was not the case for England in this game.
