Bangladesh vs India Highlights And Cricket Score 2nd Match - T20 Commentary
Vijay Shankar says it's been a good show from them. Reckons bowling back of a length is something which doesn't let batsman score freely and hence he likes to hit it more often. Is trying to adapt to the situation and is happy to do it. States they are backing themselves to chase this down.
Bangladesh will be very disappointed with their effort. Apart from Liton Das and Sabbir Rahman none of the batsmen got going and now it's a tough ask for their bowlers to defend a paltry score against a star-studded batting line-up. Will India continue to keep wood over Bangladesh? We shall find out in just a bit. We have Vijay Shankar up for a chat. Let's see what the pacer has to say...
Excellent performance from India after opting to bowl. They were right on the money from the word go and never did they let Bangladesh off the hook. All their bowlers got into the act pretty quickly especially after that thrashing that they received in the series opener. Unadkat got three while Thakur got two to his name. Both their spinners were pretty economical and tidy. They gave away just 42 runs and picked up a wicket in the 8 overs together.
Shardul Thakur to Taskin Ahmed. Another one on a shorter length, Thakur grunts as he delivers it. Taskin Ahmed mistimes his pull to mid-wicket and settles for a single. BANGLADESH FINISH WITH 139/8!
Shardul Thakur to Taskin Ahmed. Wide! This seems to have slipped out of his hands! Full toss, too, too wide outside the tramline. A good take from Karthik behind.
Shardul Thakur to Mustafizur Rahman. Comes a couple of steps ahead and drives it towards sweeper cover for a single.
Shardul Thakur to Mustafizur Rahman. Bangs in a short one, directing towards the batsman. Rahman is ages to late to swing across the line.
Shardul Thakur to Taskin Ahmed. Drags a pull off the inside edge towards mid-wicket for a single.
Mustafizur Rahman is next.
Shardul Thakur to Taskin Ahmed. OUT! Run out! Very full on the stumps, Taskin Ahmed drags it off the inner half towards long on and runs the first one hard. He wants another as well and Rubel sets off. Raina fires a flat throw to Shardul who seems to have not collected it cleanly but did well to deflect it onto the stumps at his end. They take it upstairs and replays confirm the same.
Direct hit, is it? Or has Thakur not collected the ball? Either way, the stumps are disturbed and a run out appeal is taken upstairs.
Shardul Thakur to Taskin Ahmed. Hits the deck hard, it rises a bit too much and it's too good for Taskin to hit it across.
Jaydev Unadkat to Rubel Hossain. The batsman was beaten and missed the line of the delivery.
Rubel Hossain is the new man in.
Jaydev Unadkat to Sabbir Rahman. OUT! Sabbir Rahman has to walk back. It's not a bump ball, so Sabbir Rahman's stay ends as Unadkat gets his third of the night. He goes wide of the crease and angles away a very full ball outside off, Rahman tries squeezing it out but there seems to be some noise as the ball passes the bat. The umpire takes his time before raising his finger. Sabbir is quick to take the DRS. Replays roll in. Snicko shows a spike but not when the bat hits the ground. It shows when the ball passes the bat. The decision stands.
The umpire raises the finger to a caught behind appeal against Sabbir Rahman. It seems like a bump ball and hence Sabbir takes the review straightaway.
Jaydev Unadkat to Sabbir Rahman. Wide! That's ultra wide! Very full and miles outside the tramline, Sabbir lets it be.
Jaydev Unadkat to Sabbir Rahman. That's a harsh call from the umpire! The cutter from Jaydev, it moves away a bit, Rahman looks to pull but gets beaten. It was well inside the tramline.
Jaydev Unadkat to Sabbir Rahman. Doles a yorker, sprayed wider outside off, Sabbir Rahman fails to dig it out.
Jaydev Unadkat to Sabbir Rahman. SIX! That's gone the distance! What a hit! Rahman maybe, predicted this as he waits on the back foot to a length ball and pummels it over deep square leg for a maximum.
Jaydev Unadkat to Taskin Ahmed. Leg bye! Angling in again on middle and leg, Ahmed looks to tuck it away but gets it off the pads. The ball rolls beside the pitch as Sabbir calls him through. Taskin obliges. Now Unadkat charges to the ball, picks it up, turns and has a wild shy at the bowler's end but misses. The man from mid off does well to stop it with a dive.
Jaydev Unadkat to Taskin Ahmed. FOUR! Bangladesh have finally got a boundary. They need more of those! Fuller and angling in from over the wicket, Ahmed clears the front leg and whips it between long on and mid-wicket for a boundary to start the 19th over.
Shardul Thakur to Taskin Ahmed. Yes, he does! Back to over the wicket and digs in a short ball on leg, Taskin lifts his front leg as he pulls it towards fine leg to be on strike. Excellent from Shardul, just two off the over.

Jaydev Unadkat to Sabbir Rahman. Shortish on the hips, Rahman hops and tucks it towards mid-wicket for a single.
Taskin Ahmed is the new man in.
Jaydev Unadkat to Mehidy Hasan. OUT! Easy take for Pandey! Unadkat with an excellent slower length delivery on middle and off, Mehidy Hasan backs away to have a thwack across the line but all he manages is to sky it up in the air towards long on where Manish Pandey takes it safely.
Jaydev Unadkat to Mehidy Hasan. Wide! Bangs in a short one on middle and leg, Hasan can't pull it away. Wide called rightly.

Liton Das skips down the track to go big but the ball turns away a bit which made him reach out to that one. Mistimes it high in the air towards long off and Raina takes it with ease by coming a couple of steps ahead.
Yuzvendra Chahal is back.

Changes the pace again, keeps it full outside off, Rahman looks to heave it across the line but mistimes it high in the air towards mid-wicket. Reckons that they will look to execute their skills and use it to their potential. Ends by saying that they are playing with 6 batsmen and 5 bowlers.

Cricket is a funny game and you shouldn't expect the obvious to be the outcome always. India were favourites to have a cakewalk till the finals even in the absence of their big guns, but to their dismay, they lost the opener against the hosts, Sri Lanka. Hello and welcome once again from R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, for the second match of the Tri-Series, where India lock horns with Bangladesh. Bangla Tigers haven't had recent results in their favor when it comes to the shortest format of the game. They have just managed to win one encounter out of the last 13 played and are also coming on the back of a series defeat against the Lankans. They will want to start the series with a victory on the cards. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma and his boys will look to pull up their socks. They will hope to continue their dominance against their opponents and increase their tally to six wins out of six. Let's hope for a cracker of an encounter. Don't go away as we bring the toss and team news in some moments.
That is all from this game. The result panned out to be how everyone expected it to with India coming out on top quite easily. Bangladesh on the other hand, are struggling to find a win. They have a lot of things to sought out before their next game against the Lankans. It is also the next game of the tri series which will be played on the 10th of March in Colombo at 1900 local (1330 GMT). Till then, take care and goodbye.
Rohit Sharma says this good performance was expected from his team, from the first ball to the last and it was a complete team effort. Mentions they looked at what went wrong in the last game and worked on it, in particular what lengths they hit while bowling. Praises his bowlers for executing their plans and is happy with how they did. Realizes that their catching has been poor and goes on to say there's always room for improvement. Reckons his side is much better than that and hopefully they'll improve rather soon.
Mahmudullah says it's obvious they didn't bat well. Adds they fell short by about 15-20 runs and didn't adapt to the wicket as well. Further adds they needed to rotate the strike more and do better especially in the middle overs. States that they are just one win away from becoming really good again and that probably isn't far away.
Man of the Match, Vijay Shankar says he's been working really hard and is happy to have got this award. Adds that the last few years he's put in a lot of effort to develop his bowling and add some variety, which has helped him a lot. Wants to thank his parents for helping him get to this point, along with the people in the dressing room.
India back on track after a mini setback in the tournament opener and with that, they continue to dominate Bangladesh as they make it 6-0 in T20Is. Was as comfortable a game as they could have hoped for. First did the job with the ball by restricting Bangladesh to 139, with Jaydev Unadkat leading the charge with a 3 fer, and now, have cruised through the chase courtesy a superb Shikhar Dhawan fifty. His and Suresh Raina's stand of 68 runs more or less sealed the deal, with Manish Pandey then adding the finishing touches like he usually does. Plenty to ponder for the Tigers, time to rejoice for the Indians.
Rubel Hossain to Manish Pandey. And there's the game! INDIA WIN BY 6 WICKETS! Comfortable victory for the Men in Blue. Manish Pandey hits this towards the man at cover and calls his partner through to complete a well-deserved victory.
