2nd Inn
End of Over : 20.0HK: 102/10
As for the Oman bowlers, Aamir Kaleem was the pick for them as he snapped up a 3-fer conceding just 14 runs. Khawar Ali also bowled well as he took a 3-fer too. The bowling unit for Oman was in sync all along and there were no loose ends to target. Oman have to chase down a small target of 103 runs and it should be a comfortable one for them. Can Hong Kong spring an upset? Stay tuned to find out.
A quick interview with Aamir Kaleem. He starts by thanking the Almighty and says that this performance has made his birthday special. Feels the wicket is not easy to bat on as the ball was gripping. Tells that they planned to not give easy runs. On the target, he hopes to scale it down without losing too many wickets.
Oman elected to bowl after winning the toss for the second time in a row and they have executed their game plan perfectly right from the word go. They never let the Hong Kong players get going and runs were difficult to come by as the pitch was on the slower side. The ball was gripping and the Hong Kong players struggled to score runs as a result. Nizakat Khan was the only batsman who got going a bit but he too scored at a rate of less than run-a-ball. Only two batters other than him even reached double digits.

Greetings and a warm welcome to Match 13 of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Qualifier between Hong Kong and Oman. Oman come into this game on the back of a comfortable win over the hosts, UAE and they will be high on confidence. Their bowling was clinical and they were never in doubt of losing that game as they made the best use of the conditions. As for Hong Kong, they were brutally defeated by Ireland who thumped their bowlers all around the ground. The only bright spot for them was the performance of Kinchit Shah who showed some fight. Oman will be looking to gain another two points and make it two wins out of two whilst Hong Kong will be looking to earn their first points of the qualifiers. Stay tuned for all the action.
End of Over : 17.3OMA: 106/3
So that is it from this game! We look forward to your company on Monday for all the action from the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Qualifier. Do join us. Cheers!
Oman skipper, Zeeshan Maqsood, says it is a very good win for them. He feels their bowlers were brilliant and were right on the spot. Reckons the wicket kept getting slower and it is not easy to hit the balls. Further adds they trust their skills and back themselves. Ends by saying Ireland is a good team and they are looking forward to that game.
Honk Kong skipper, Aizaz Khan, says they did not have enough runs on the board. Further adds they needed something around 140. States Oman's spinners were very good but one of their top order batters should have played well. Mentions fielding and bowling was good, their spinners too did well but there wasn't enough runs on the board. Reckons the pitch was a touch slow and they need to adapt to such pitches. States he needs to lead from the front and hopefully they can do better in the next game.
MAN OF THE MATCH, Aamir Kaleem, says it is a special day for him and his teammates made it special by winning this match. States they are working pretty hard and it is paying off, even in the series they played before this, they won all their games. Further adds they are now looking forward to the upcoming games. On the stumping wicket, he says he saw the batter stepping out and hence fired it wide outside off. Ends by saying, he dedicates the award to his family and his team.
Earlier in the day, the Oman bowlers were brilliant, it was because of them their side were in the position they were in, in the second half. Aamir Kaleem and Khawar Ali were the pick with three-fers and it is their effort which saw Oman win their second game in a row.
The Hong Kong bowling was decent, their bowlers did give it their all, especially their spinners. Barkat and Kinchit were the pick of the bowlers. Overall though they did not have enough runs on the board to play with.
A easy chase in the end for Oman! Yes, there were moments in between where it seemed Hong Kong cold get back into the game but overall, the Oman batters did a decent job. Does not do so and it goes straight to the man at deep mid-wicket where Jatinder Singh takes it and then does the Dhawan-like celebration.
So that is it from this game! We look forward to your company on Monday for all the action from the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Qualifier. Do join us. Cheers!
