Canada vs Ireland Highlights And Cricket Score 25th Match - T20 Summary
That's it from this game! Canada have gone to the top of the table with this win and Ireland have to work really hard to make a comeback into this tournament. The ICC World T20 Qualifiers are not done yet and we have another game coming up, Hong Kong versus Jersey. Do join us for that at 1930 Local (1530 GMT).
Navneet Dhaliwal, the Canadian skipper, says that they have done well but they would need to do better in the Powerplay. Further says that they could have scored some more runs in their innings. On the surface, Dhaliwal says that the surface is very slow but they adapted well to it. On his knock and captaincy, Navneet states that it feels good to play such a knock and he was a bit unlucky getting out earlier in the previous games.
Gary Wilson, the Irish skipper, says that the Canadians got a bit more than they would have liked but the boys brought it back really well. Says that they were backing themselves to chase this down but they did not expect to lose wickets so quickly and then it was difficult for them to recover from that. Adds that they would look to do better in their upcoming games.
Nitish Kumar is the Player of the match, on being asked about the win, he says that it was a good win. The bowlers bowled really well here. On his partnership with Navneet Dhaliwal, he says that when he came, the team wanted a good partnership and luckily they got one today in the middle. On advice from the coach, he adds that he was just asked to express himself and play his natural game.
The Irish were poor with the ball at the start giving away easy runs but came back strongly in the end to give away just 32 runs in the last five overs of the Canadians innings. Coming to their batting, there's nothing to talk about that, they lost wickets in a heap and it was difficult for them to make a comeback from thereon. Stuart Thompson, Gary Wilson and Mark Adair looked to resurrect things but it was too late. They remain in fourth position on the points table and would hope for a better performance in their next encounter. Presentation in a while.
CANADA! CANADA! BRILLIANT! They have beaten a side which is above them in the T20Is rankings and with this win they have gone to the top of the table. Canada started off well with the bat and due to an excellent stand between Nitish Kumar and Navneet Dhaliwal, they reached a respectable score on this wicket. They lost a few wickets in the end and could not finish with a bang. Then, their bowlers did a wonderful job to strangle the Irish batsmen. The team would be a happy bunch going into their next match. The only concern was their fielding as they made plenty of errors in their ground fielding.
