The Windies bowling was very good to begin with. Till the time the ball was new, Cottrell, Thomas and Holder, all did a good job. However, once the ball got soft, their bowlers did take a pounding. Blundell then came out of his shell though, he started playing lovely shots, smashed the bowlers out of the park and got to a ton. However, the task was too much of an ask and once he fell, it was all about playing out the 50 overs for the Kiwis which they did.
