New Zealand face West Indies in the ninth warm-up game of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 at the County Ground in Bristol on Tuesday. New Zealand beat tournament favourites India in their first warm-up fixture, while West Indies' match against South Africa was washed out due to rain.
The West Indies cricket team has been strengthened by the return of two power-houses in Chris Gayle and Andre Russel. The latter won Player of the Tournament in the 2019 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, while Gayle has been in sensational form, ever since his return to the national team. Led by all-rounder Jason Holder, West Indies will hope to use their experience of playing in England recently, at CWC 2019.
Meanwhile, New Zealand doesn't come with a huge reputation but has a knack of defying their expectations at every ICC tournament. The 2015 finalist began on a high note with a comfortable victory over India and will aim to reach a step higher this year. This will be the final warm-up match of both the teams.

The Windies bowling was very good to begin with. Till the time the ball was new, Cottrell, Thomas and Holder, all did a good job. However, once the ball got soft, their bowlers did take a pounding. Only Nurse was able to bowl a good spell during the middle overs. Carlos Brathwaite though finished as the pick of the bowlers as he ended with a three-fer.
A comfortable win for the Windies! An absolute morale boosting one for them. After Shai Hope's ton and handy innings from Lewis and Russell, they posted a massive 422. In reply, New Zealand needed a powerful start but they did not get it. They lost three even before they got to 50. Williamson and Blundell then steadied the ship. The two added a 120-run stand but just as they started to get going, the skipper got run out. Blundell then came out of his shell though, he started playing lovely shots, smashed the bowlers out of the park and got to a ton. However, the task was too much of an ask and once he fell, it was all about playing out the 50 overs for the Kiwis which they did.

Carlos Brathwaite to Ish Sodhi. DROPPED! Nurse drops another one. This was in the arc of the batsman and he obliges by lofting it straight up and high towards cover-point. There is no elevation to it means it won't clear the fence. The fielder runs towards the direction of the ball but cannot hold on to it as the ball was swirling a bit. Sodhi gets a life.
