West Indies vs England Highlights And Cricket Score 3rd Match - ODI Commentary

End of Over : 0.0 WI: 0/0

We head to the 4th ODI all square. 1-1 as it stands. The 4th ODI will be played at this very venue, National Cricket Stadium, St George's, Grenada. The timings remain the same. 0930 local (1330 GMT). We hope the weather has other plans on Wednesday, 27th February. Join in for that, till then, take care!

Right then! The inevitable has arrived. MATCH ABANDONED. Feel sorry for the crowds waiting eagerly for the rain to disappear but that didn't happen. Spare a thought for me too. It all started with the toss being delayed. Later on, we got in the teams with the toss and were supposed to have an entire 50-over game. Just when the players were getting ready, it started to pour again. The weather gave us a glimmer of hope as time passed by. We were promised a 30-over match but that didn't live upto expectations. Come afternoon, it got from bad to worse.

Update 1435 local - Nope. Nothing. It is still pouring out here and the chances of a game are starting to look really bleak. A little time to go before an official word maybe...

Update 1230 local - Sorry, we do not have anything exciting for you. The crowds wait in anticipation for the rain to fade away but nothing seems to be happening. The covers are still on. Let's hope we have some positive news the next time around.

Update 1115 local - The rain continues to tease us. We were scheduled for a 45-over game but hold your horses. The drizzle is back. Stay with us for further update.

Jeez! The musical chairs have started. Just as we were about to start, the rains began the music. For now, the covers are back on and the players have taken shelter. We hope it is just another passing shower. It though almost certainly means we see a curtailed game.

PITCH REPORT - Darren Ganga with the pitch report first tells us that the overhead conditions will be cloudy. Mentions that the boundaries are around 70 m straight and shorter square of the wicket. Coming to the surface, he says that there is a bit of grass left on the pitch and might provide tennis-ball bounce. He reckons that the bat will dominate ball and expects a high-scoring contest. Reminds us that the ground is a fortress of sorts for the home side as they have won the last five 50-over games that they have played here while England have not played an ODI at this venue. Signs off by saying the average score is 257 and looks for another run-fest.

TEAM NEWS - Ben Stokes and Tom Curran miss out in this game for the visitors and are replaced by the duo of Alex Hales and Chris Woakes. Stokes seems to have been rested as a precautionary measure because of twisting his ankle. On the other hand, the Windies are unchanged.

TOSS - England have won the toss and elected to bowl first. Eoin Morgan mentions that there are more showers forecast and bowling first will enable them to assess the conditions better. On the pitch, he reckons that it is a good one and is looking forward to play on it. Jason Holder, the Windies skipper says that he too would have bowled first. Mentions that there is moisture but the wicket will keep getting better. Credits Hetmyer for the way he plays the game.

Welcome to Grenada for the third ODI of this 5-match series between the Windies and England. After almost a delay of more than an hour due to rain, we are all set to begin here. The toss is just around the corner. As for the rubber, it is evenly poised with both teams having exchanged a blow each and are ready for the third round. The first match was an incredibly easy chase by the visitors and the second one saw them pass up what should have been a simpler one. No use looking back though, all eyes at St George's, a ground which is hosting an ODI after 5 years...
