West Indies vs Bangladesh Highlights And Cricket Score 2nd Match - Test Commentary
The away side would be a bit disappointed though as Holder and Gabriel added 35 for the final wicket but will be more or less satisfied. When they come out to bat, first they would aim to negotiate the remaining 10 minutes before Lunch safely. Whereas, Windies will be aiming to pick quick wickets. Join us shortly.
Earlier, the home side got a strong foundation after a fall of an early wicket, courtesy three 50-plus stands and a century stand. Kraigg Brathwaite once again stood tall and stroked a fine ton. For the tourists, Mehidy Hasan was the wrecker-in-chief as he took a fifer and was a constant threat on a slightly two-paced track.
It has been a brilliant comeback from Bangladesh to bowl out the hosts for just over 350. The young pacer, Abu Jayed was in his elements in the morning and sent both the overnight batsmen, Shimron Hetmyer and Roston Chase packing quite early. The southpaw who had batted so well would be disappointed to miss out on a ton. His wicket led to a series of dismissals, as the hosts lost their last 6 wickets for only 59 runs.

The Snicko doesn't spot any nick and Hawk Eye shows that the impact is umpire's call while the ball is missing the leg stump.

We are all set for the action to begin. Out come the Bangladesh players and they are followed by Roston Chase and Shimron Hetmyer who will resume their innings. The latter will be on strike and he will be facing Abu Jayed who will start the proceedings for the visitors. Here we go...
Bangladesh on the other hand, will hope for a few quick wickets. It will once again be their spinners who will do the majority of the bowling today. The wicket did provide assistance to them yesterday and Shakib will hope it does today as well, so that his bowlers can make full use of it. Will we see a fightback from the visitors or will the hosts continue their domination? Stay tuned for the all-important first session in a while. Welcome to the coverage.
Day 2 of the second Test between Windies and Bangladesh. The hosts dominated the proceedings on Day 1 and today they will look to tighten their grip on the game. They are 5 runs short of 300 and have six wickets in hand. The platform is set for them to post a big first innings score and that is exactly what they will be hoping for.
... Day 2, Session 1 ...
Three consecutive fifty-plus stands after the fall of an early wicket has meant that the home side continue to sail on. There have been moments of exhilaration for Bangladesh but not enough to put any pressure on the opposition. The visitors for a change need to be on fire on the morning of Day 2 and trigger a collapse or else it will be the Windies who will keep on hogging the limelight. Join us on Friday at 1000 Local (1500 GMT) to catch all the action. Till then, cheers!
Shakib Al Hasan showed much more faith in his spinners in this game. That owes to a couple of factors - there were a few cracks on this surface as well as some extra bounce on offer and the other point is that spin is their major strength. It was Mehidy Hasan who utilized the conditions to the optimum to pick up three wickets. He could have had a couple more had his fielders given him proper support. The rest of the bowlers were not consistent enough. Taijul Islam did send the centurion back but he was a little wayward overall.
Final session - 27 overs, 131 runs, 1 wicket. The most productive phase of play for the Windies in terms of runs. Sums up the day nicely for the hosts and they are right on top at the moment. Informs there are two changes - Keemo Paul, the debutant comes in place of Kemar Roach while Devendra Bishoo makes way for Shimron Hetmyer.
Bangladesh skipper, Shakib Al Hasan says that they are going to bowl first. Adds that there is moisture on it and expects his pace bowlers to make use of it. Informs there is one change as Taijul Islam comes in for Rubel Hossain. States that they are working very hard and is hopeful of putting in a much better performance.
Toss - Bangladesh win the toss and opt to field.
PITCH REPORT - Jeff Dujon assessing the surface says there is a good distribution of grass on it. Mentions that the nature of the grass is fresh and the track is very hard too. States that there are a few cracks on it but there will be a lot of pace and bounce on offer. Reckons that the spinners will come into play as the game progresses. Ends by saying that it will be a very important toss.
The Windies have decided to rest the belligerent Kemar Roach but they still have a pace battery which can cause havoc against top batsmen. They will be striving for another clinical performance but need to be wary as the tourists will be eager to strike back. An absorbing clash is in the making.
Clear blue skies welcome us at the Sabina Park in Jamaica as we head into the second and final Test of the series. The morale in the Windies camp will be at its peak whereas it will be low in the opposition camp. When the going gets tough, the tough get going - Bangladesh not only need to believe in that fact but have to lift themselves up as well. The experienced campaigners, Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal need to emerge as the torch-bearers in order to guide their boys.
The Windies now have a lot of time left in the game. They will look to bat for as long as possible and bat Bangladesh out of the game. Then, Shakib Al Hasan joined Tamim Iqbal in the middle and played some fine shots. The skipper kept on batting in the same mode, stitched a 59-run stand with the latter but Jason Holder got the better of him. He is still battling out there as Bangladesh are still 262 runs behind and have a stiff task in front of them. They need to bat out of their skins to spark any chances of a comeback. Join us shortly for the final session.

Liton stays rooted to his crease and tries to drive it towards mid on. He misses and gets hit on the pads. The players appeal and the umpire raises his finger. ... Day 2, Session 2 ...
Safely negotiated! Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das have survived the two overs and go unscathed to the dressing room to have a nice meal. Day 1 wasn't a good one for Bangladesh but they have bounced back with aplomb on Day 2 indicating that they have the potential. It is just a matter of channelizing it in the right direction. It seemed that a score in the range of 450-500 is on the cards but their bowling had a lot more intensity today. Mehidy Hasan was the most successful bowler, picking a 5-fer while Abu Jayed took 3 wickets. Windies, on the other hand, still have a competitive score on the board. They would draw inspiration from the fact that they had bowled out Bangladesh twice for just 187 runs in the last game. It will be a stern test for the tourists. Can they fight fire with fire? Join us on the other side of the break to find out.

The ball hits him on the pads as the batter loses his balance and falls onto the ground. The players appeal but the umpire shakes his head. Missing leg.
However, the hosts have set a big target of 335, courtesy their first innings lead of 205. It certainly would be difficult on this track to chase down. In this series so far, they have bowled out Bangladesh thrice and will be backing themselves to get the better of them again. Do the Bangla Tigers have it in them to fight fire with fire? Let's find out on the other side of the break.
A brilliant bowling performance from Bangladesh has given them a glimmer of hope. They hardly took any time to clean the tail up as Shakib finished with a 6-wicket haul. Mehidy Hasan also chipped in with a couple of wickets towards the fag end. The skipper was on fire since morning and troubled the batsmen constantly with his variations. There was a handy 33-run partnership between Hetmyer and Chase which meant that Windies go past 300 but once Taijul Islam broke the stand, there was no substantial contribution down the order.

The visitors appeal but the umpire stays put. Shakib opts for the review after taking a glance at the keeper. Well, the Snicko shows clear daylight between bat and ball. The third umpire also checks for the LBW. Hawk Eye shows that the ball is missing the leg stump. It is to be mentioned that the keeper missed a stumping chance as well but by no means, it was an easy one. Not easy to collect deflections cleanly.

With a healthy lead of 224 and a lot of batting to come, they can take their time and tire the opposition out. Bangladesh, on the other hand, need to be proactive and play with a lot of intensity. You never know, on a two-paced surface, if you get a few wickets, that can cause a collapse. Expect another absorbing day of Test cricket.
