Bangladesh vs West Indies Highlights And Cricket Score 2nd Match - T20I Commentary
The Windies bowling started off really well but lost gas as the game progressed. Their spinners were quite impressive and one would wonder why Badree was not given his full quota of overs. Especially with the pacers taking a pounding. Now though they need to put all that behind and concentrate on their batting. They do have the firepower to chase this down but it won't be easy. Will they do so and take the series or will Bangladesh end up on level terms. Join us in a while to find out.
An excellent recovery from Bangladesh. They end up with a score which is more than competitive. After being inserted they once again failed to get a good start as they lost three wickets before reaching the 50-run mark. Then the two Bangladeshi legends took matters in their hands. They counter-attacked and stitched a 90-run stand from just 50 balls. Yes, Tamim was dropped but take nothing away from his innings. He provided the impetus the innings needed by smashing Russell for 22 in his penultimate over before falling to him. However, Shakib continued and he, along with Mahmudullah has taken the visitors to a total they will be happy with.
Keemo Paul to Mahmudullah. So no boundaries in the final over but Bangladesh do manage to get 9 from it. Another full delivery on middle, Mahmudullah hits it down the ground for a couple. BANGLADESH END WITH 171!
Keemo Paul to Ariful Haque. Another single results as Haque guides this towards point.
Keemo Paul to Mahmudullah. Again no boundary, just a single I should write. A very full delivery on the pads. Mahmudullah flicks it through mid-wicket for a run.
Ariful Haque comes in next.
Keemo Paul to Shakib Al Hasan. OUT! Shakib holes out! Half the side back in the hut for Bangladesh. A low full toss outside off, not always easy to put such deliveries away and Shakib could not. He hits it up in the air towards long off. Walton, the substitute, takes an easy catch. Shakib walks back after playing an innings of substance. This till now has been a good final over by Paul.
Keemo Paul to Shakib Al Hasan. Full and wide outside off, Shakib slashes, he gets an outside edge down to third man for a couple.
Keemo Paul to Shakib Al Hasan. Slower ball and way outside off. Shakib lets it be. Wide signaled.
Keemo Paul to Shakib Al Hasan. Full outside off by Paul who is back into the attack. Shakib tries to force it through the off side but he gets it off the inner half, past the diving bowler and some good running helps them take two.
Carlos Brathwaite to Shakib Al Hasan. Fuller in length on middle, eased down to mid on for a run. So, 13 from this over, a good one for the visitors especially after the last one was a quiet one.
Carlos Brathwaite to Mahmudullah. The batsman has taken the aerial route and played that over the covers. They pick up a single.
Carlos Brathwaite to Mahmudullah. In the air but safe. Full outside off, Mahmudullah slices it over covers. No man in the deep and a couple results.
Carlos Brathwaite to Mahmudullah. FOUR! STREAKY! Bangladesh will take it no matter how it comes. A yorker outside off, Mahmudullah tries to jam it out but he gets a bottom edge past the keeper. The fielder at third man runs to his left and dives over the ball. So, two boundaries in the three balls bowled.
Carlos Brathwaite to Shakib Al Hasan. NOT OUT! Pitched outside leg. Windies' only review goes down the drain. A good comeback delivery though by Carlos after going for a boundary on the first ball. Very full around leg. Shakib tries to flick but misses to get hit on the pads. The players appeal but the umpire shakes his head. The ball rolls towards square leg and the batsmen run a leg bye. Brathwaite then signals for the review and the replay rolls in. It shows the ball to be pitching outside leg.
A huge appeal for LBW has not been given. Shakib is the man in question. The ball looks to be pitching outside the leg stump.
Carlos Brathwaite to Shakib Al Hasan. FOUR! Another gift and these have to be put away. He serves a full toss on the pads, Shakib flicks it through backward square leg for a boundary. Ideal start to the over, pressure on the bowler now.
Carlos Brathwaite is back on.
Andre Russell to Mahmudullah. So just 3 from Russell's last. He finishes his spell with figures of 4-0-33-1. Not bad, especially after 22 were scored in a single over. He bangs this short and Mahmudullah is late on the pull.
Andre Russell to Shakib Al Hasan. Slower and on the shorter side outside off, Shakib slaps it towards the cover fielder who makes a diving stop. Can't stop the single though.
Andre Russell to Shakib Al Hasan. Another yorker outside off, Shakib goes after it but does not connect.
Andre Russell to Mahmudullah. Excellent cricket all around there. A brilliant delivery first by Russell. A corker of a yorker. Mahmudullah does well to jam it out towards the leg side. The batsmen go for a quick run. Russell gets to the ball quickly and while he is turning, he has a shy at his end but misses. Had he hit, Mahmudullah was a goner.
Andre Russell to Mahmudullah. Slower ball on middle, Mahmudullah works it to mid-wicket.
Andre Russell to Shakib Al Hasan. Fifty for Shakib, his first as captain in T20Is and it has come at a time when Bangladesh needed it. A do-or-die game, your team in trouble, and the skipper has led from the front. His job though is not done yet as he needs to stay there and take his side to a good total. He gets to the milestone by slapping the ball to the man at sweeper cover. Raises his bat to soak in the applause from the crowd.
Kesrick Williams to Shakib Al Hasan. Again moves across the stumps and flicks it to fine leg. One run added to the total.
Kesrick Williams to Shakib Al Hasan. FOUR! Superb timing from Shakib. He gets a full ball outside off and creams it wide of the cover fielder.

Kesrick Williams to Shakib Al Hasan. Moves away to play the shortish ball and gets it to mid off for a run.
Kesrick Williams to Shakib Al Hasan. Wide not given and rightly so. It is a slower ball from Williams to which Shakib moves across to work it fine, however, he misses it. The ball goes just past the leg stump. Shakib is livid with himself on missing out on this.
Kesrick Williams to Mahmudullah. Short outside off, guided wide of third man for a run.
Kesrick Williams to have a go now.
Mahmudullah walks out to the middle.
Andre Russell to Tamim Iqbal. OUT! Russell has the last laugh and the Windies will be relieved to see the back of Tamim. Russell goes full again on middle, Tamim clears his front leg and tries to go downtown but fails to get the desired connection. It has got more height than distance and Paul at long on takes a good catch. End of a magnificent innings by the opener and also the 90-run stand. He made full use of the life he got and walks off to a standing ovation. 22 and a wicket from this over. What a roller-coaster!
Andre Russell to Tamim Iqbal. SIX! Make that 22! Tamim Iqbal is on fire. Full, length, back of a length and now short. Bowl anywhere to him and he will hit you. Russell goes for the bumper but maybe Tamim was expecting it. He is in position early as he pulls it over the mid-wicket fence.
Andre Russell to Tamim Iqbal. FOUR! So, 16 from the first 4 balls. Slower ball on off, Tamim picks his spot and hits it over mid off and the ball trickles over the fence.
Andre Russell to Tamim Iqbal. SIX! This time he has hit that right off the middle. Another biggie. Once again it is the length ball on middle, Tamim pulls it over the mid-wicket fence.
Andre Russell to Tamim Iqbal. Tamim would have felt he missed out there. A full toss outside off, Tamim swings but misses.
Andre Russell to Tamim Iqbal. SIX! Welcome back into the attack Russell, says Tamim. What a shot. The key there was he picked the length early. On the shorter side, not very short. Tamim half-pulls it over long on for a biggie.
Andre Russell comes back to bowl the 16th over.

Keemo Paul to Tamim Iqbal. Nice comeback. A yorker and it evades the bat of Tamim.
Keemo Paul to Tamim Iqbal. 50 for Tamim Iqbal. Bangladesh would want him to continue. An overpitched ball on middle, he drives it through covers and takes a brace to bring up the milestone. His 6th in this format.
Keemo Paul is back on.
Carlos Brathwaite to Shakib Al Hasan. Tries to innovate again by playing the scoop. This time though he does not connect and 2 dots to end the over. But a good one for the visitors as 9 runs came from it.
Carlos Brathwaite to Shakib Al Hasan. A good yorker outside off, Shakib tries to jam it out but misses.
Carlos Brathwaite to Shakib Al Hasan. FOUR! This adds salt to the wound. Had Powell taken the catch, Shakib would not have been on strike and this shot would not have been played. The Bangladesh skipper, shuffles right across and scoops it over short fine leg and fetches a boundary.
Carlos Brathwaite to Tamim Iqbal. DROPPED! Rovman Powell is the culprit. He drops an absolute sitter. Tamim uses his feet again and gets a short ball outside off. He slaps it towards mid off. Powell there gets two hands to it but can't hang on. The batsmen run through for a single. Brathwaite is not a happy man and why would he be? Tamim is not someone you drop, especially after he has got his eye in. The opener would now look to make the hosts pay big time.
Carlos Brathwaite to Tamim Iqbal. Back of a length closer to the off pole. Iqbal guides it to point.
Carlos Brathwaite to Tamim Iqbal. FOUR! Raining boundaries here in Florida! Tamim gets into the act this time. Not in a convincing manner though but he won't care. Uses his feet and slashes at the ball. It takes the outside edge and goes over short third man for the 4th boundary in the last 7 balls. 100 up for Bangladesh and also the 50-run stand comes up between the two. A vital one as Bangladesh were in big trouble when they got together.
Kesrick Williams to Shakib Al Hasan. FOUR! A boundary to begin the over and one to end it. 14 from this over. Another gift from Williams. A bouncer down the leg side. Shakib swivels and pulls it through short fine leg for a boundary.
Kesrick Williams to Tamim Iqbal. Tamim this time uses his feet but only tucks it to deep mid-wicket for a run.
Kesrick Williams to Shakib Al Hasan. Shakib surely is trying to do so as he skips down the track but Williams bowls a decent slower one. The batsman works it through mid-wicket and gets to the other end.
Kesrick Williams to Shakib Al Hasan. FOUR! 4,0,4 is how this over reads till now. Shakib makes room and Williams follows him by digging it short. Shakib does the smart thing as he helps it on its way through backward square leg. 8 from the first half of the over, can the visitors make this a big one?
Kesrick Williams to Shakib Al Hasan. Good comeback by the bowler. Shortens his length and bowls it outside off. Shakib tries to cut but misses.
Kesrick Williams to Shakib Al Hasan. FOUR! In the gap! Too easy for Shakib, full and outside off. Shakib reaches out for it and hits it over covers. No fielder in the deep and a boundary results.
Carlos Brathwaite to Shakib Al Hasan. A single to end the over as Shakib pulls it to deep square leg. A good over for the visitors, 8 from it.
Carlos Brathwaite to Tamim Iqbal. In the air... but safe! Good fielding in the end. A clever shot by Tamim, he shuffles across and flicks it effortlessly. The ball lands in between deep mid-wicket and deep square leg. Russell there runs to his left, dives and saves a run for his side.
Carlos Brathwaite to Shakib Al Hasan. Cramps the batsman for room as he angles it into the batsman and bowls it on a back of a length. Shakib half-pulls it towards mid-wicket for a run.
Carlos Brathwaite to Tamim Iqbal. Slightly shorter on middle, Tamim pulls it through square leg for a run.

Carlos Brathwaite is into the attack.
Kesrick Williams to Shakib Al Hasan. Again an off pace ball. Shakib swings but gets an inside edge towards the keeper. So it is clear, both the batsmen have now decided to step on the gas as they have started to play a few shots. Though none of them is hitting them cleanly.
Kesrick Williams to Shakib Al Hasan. FOUR! EDGED and over the keeper's head! No fielder there so a boundary results. Bangladesh needed this. Slower delivery on middle, Shakib is way too early into his slog. He gets a top edge over the keeper and into the fence.

Shakib Al Hasan is the next man in.
Keemo Paul to Soumya Sarkar. OUT! High, so high and taken! Intelligent stuff from Paul, he bowls a slower full delivery wide of off stump. Andre Russell to Soumya Sarkar. Make that a single from the 5 deliveries bowled! Very full and outside off, Sarkar jams it out to point. Can Russell finish the over well?

Hello and welcome to the coverage of the second T20I between Windies and Bangladesh in Florida. A do-or-die game for the visitors after they were thumped in the first one. A better outing will be expected from them this time around. The Windies, on the other hand, will look to continue their momentum and seal the series here itself. Let us hope for an equal battle between bat and ball. The action starts in a while, stay tuned!
So that is it from this game! We do have a decider. Who will take the series? Join us to find out on Sunday at 2000 local - 0000 GMT (6th August, Monday). Till then, take care and goodbye.
Bangladesh skipper, Shakib Al Hasan says after the loss in St. Kitts, they had a chat which evoked belief that they can beat the Windies. Thanks the crowd for the support they have produced and he hopes they show the same support in the next game as well. Ends by saying all the bowlers bowled really well and all-in-all, it was a complete team effort.
Man of the Match, Tamim Iqbal says that in the previous game, he got out off the first ball but the shot was on. Today he took his time and it came out good. Applauds his skipper and says that he got in, played some shots and took pressure off him, which helped him as well. Ends by saying that the pitch is amazing, he loves it and he is enjoying his first outing in Florida.
Windies captain, Carlos Brathwaite starts by saying he was pretty content with his decision as they took wickets early on and put Bangladesh under pressure in the first half. Adds that they lost the game due to the casual fielding effort which allowed the opposition to comeback in the game. Implies that they will look to finish off the contest in the next game and make most of it. Asserts that Dinesh Ramdin's dismissal was a bit questionable but these things happen in the game. Ends by saying that the team is confident and will look to get back to winning ways sooner than later.
Well, when you look at the stats, not many teams win when they lose three in the Powerplay but Fletcher and Powell's 58-run stand turned the tide in the Windies' favor. The two were going great guns before the former threw his wicket away. Shakib then along with Rahman bowled exceptionally well at the death, giving Islam 15 runs to defend of the final over. The left-arm spinner did not disappoint as he bowled a magnificent 20th over ensuring the last T20I is not a dead rubber.
Bangladesh have drawn level! An excellent collective effort by them. First it was their experienced pair of Shakib and Tamim who dug them out of the grave with a 90-run stand and then they carried the momentum onto the field and have managed to defend the target. Mustafizur, who is so highly regarded in this format, came to the fore. He struck early, not once but twice, removing the two most dangerous Windies batsmen, Russell and Lewis. Shakib then joined the party by removing Samuels, and Windies were three down in the Powerplay itself.
Nazmul Islam to Samuel Badree. That is it! BANGLADESH WIN BY 12 RUNS! Just 2 given in the last over and to top that, Islam has also taken two wickets. Brilliant by him. He fires this full again on middle, Badree hits it down to long on for an easy run.
Nazmul Islam to Keemo Paul. OUT! TIMBER! What an outstanding last over this has been from Islam. 0,1,W,0,W. Sees the batsman make room, so he fires it full on the stumps. Paul swings but misses to see his stumps get shattered. You miss I hit stuff.

Nazmul Islam to Keemo Paul. He should have done this a ball before as he hits it down to long on for a run. 14 from 4. Big hit needed, the man who can go big is now on strike.
Nazmul Islam to Keemo Paul. A dot to begin. No Paul, when you have someone striking the ball really well, you should not be swinging but giving the strike to him. Islam fires this on the pads, Paul swings but misses. A dot to begin, 15 from 5 needed.

He does really well to keep his eyes on the ball and takes it on the second attempt.
Mustafizur Rahman to Rovman Powell. FOUR! BOOM, BOOM GOES POWELL! What a hit! Not the right length by Rahman. Too short by him. Powell says thank you so much and pulls it over square leg for a boundary. If there is one man for the Windies who can do it, it is him.
Mustafizur Rahman to Ashley Nurse. A cutter on middle, the batsman tucks it through mid-wicket and gets to the other end.
Mustafizur Rahman to bowl out.
Rubel Hossain to Rovman Powell. In the air... dropped! Should have been taken considering the high standards Shakib sets for himself. A fuller slow ball outside off from Hossain, Powell looks to power it down the ground but the bat turns in his hand. As a result, the ball lobs in the air towards covers. Shakib there runs to his left, gets under it but fails to hold on to the catch even after a dive. A brace results in the end.

His last ball has been pushed towards covers for a run. 39 needed in the last 3.
Shakib Al Hasan to Rovman Powell. Just a single from the penultimate ball of this over as it is flicked through square leg. One ball to go, need to bowl it well.
Shakib Al Hasan to Rovman Powell. Flighted ball on off, Powell pushes it back to the bowler. Excellent stuff this from Shakib, bringing all his experience into play. Varying his pace really nicely. 2 balls left, need to finish it well.

Shakib Al Hasan to Carlos Brathwaite. OUT! What a catch! Wow! Liton Das, you beauty. Shakib tosses this one up on middle, Brathwaite lofts it towards wide long on. He too, like many others in this game, gets more height than distance. There are two fielders converging towards it, one from long on and the other from deep mid-wicket. Das, from the latter position, keeps his eyes on the ball and avoids the collision with the other fielder. He takes it above his head and then also maintains balance to stay inside the field. Brilliant. Brathwaite can't believe it as he walks back and Bangladesh are now favourites here as they have got the dangerous Windies skipper. 41 more needed in 22.

Nazmul Islam to Andre Fletcher. OUT! In the air... gone! Fletcher what have you done? Was this really needed? Especially after hitting a maximum on the first ball. This wicket has once again brought the match right in the balance. Credit to the bowler here, he shows courage by tossing it up on middle, Fletcher tries to play across the line and that is his undoing.
