Bangladesh vs West Indies Highlights And Cricket Score 1st Match - Test Commentary
Miguel Cummins and Jason Holder continued the good work and ensured that the lower order and the tail didn't wag. A lot of soul searching to do for the visitors. First of all, they would want to forget this as quickly as possible and get going with the ball. The Windies, on the other hand, would be aiming to continue the domination. Meanwhile, the groundsmen are bringing in the covers for precautionary purpose, in case it rains. Join us shortly!
What a dismal start to the tour for the visiting side as they have been bowled out for their lowest innings total in Test cricket! Agreed that the conditions were helpful for the pacers but the Bangladeshi batsmen couldn't come to terms with the pace and bounce of the track at all. It was Kemar Roach who broke the backbone of the opposition, nipping out five wickets in the first hour itself. He bowled nagging lines and lengths, induced false strokes and got the results.
Jason Holder to Abu Jayed. OUT! Bowled 'em! That is the final nail in the coffin. Full length ball attacking the stumps, the ball moves away just a shade. Jayed exposes his stumps and sees them shattered. BANGLADESH ARE BOWLED OUT FOR 43!

Miguel Cummins to Mehidy Hasan. OUT! The procession continues! Bangladesh will not like this one bit. They are now in danger of getting bowled out for their lowest total if they don't cross 62. Pitched up ball around off, a bit of nibble on it. Mehedi Hasan pushes at it tamely and gets a thick outside edge towards the slip cordon. The ball is dying on its way through and hence, Devon Smith at second slip takes a quick decision to go for the catch. He dives to his left and takes it inches above the ground. Seems like he has caught it but the umpire waits. However, the batsman continues to walk back. The replay shows that it was clean.

Mehedi Hasan ambles out to bat.
Miguel Cummins to Liton Das. OUT! Das' star has finally stopped shining! After playing and missing on countless occasions, he has finally fallen. After a couple of barren games, Cummins comes into the act. Coming back to the ball, it is on a fuller length on off. Das attempts an ugly loft across the line but only manages a leading edge. The ball skies over the point region. Roston Chase stationed in that region chases it to his right and takes a well-judged catch.

Miguel Cummins to Liton Das. FOUR! Poor shot selection! Shortish ball outside off, Das fetches it from there and mistimes his pull over mid-wicket. There is no one there and he picks up a boundary. If he would have departed on this one, would have looked really silly.
Miguel Cummins to Liton Das. Back of a length around off, Das rises with the bounce and pokes at it but gets a thick outside edge towards gully.
Miguel Cummins to Liton Das. Das is leading a charmed life! Seems like he is carrying a magic wand with him. Full and outside off, Das goes at it with minimal foot movement and is beaten all ends up.
Miguel Cummins to Liton Das. Fullish ball on leg stump, tucked towards the man at backward square leg.
Miguel Cummins comes in for a burst.
Time for Drinks! There are things which you dream of as a team. This one has been fulfilled, courtesy Kemar Roach. The athletic pacer has been in beautiful rhythm from the word go and hasn't let his intensity drop even a bit. His figures read 5-1-8-5. He has literally ran through the opposition. On the contrary, Bangladesh have been in shambles. Minimal footwork, poking at deliveries which can be left alone and not learning from their mistakes have cost them dearly so far. It will require a herculean effort from them to come back into the contest.
Jason Holder to Liton Das. On middle and leg, flicked through mid-wicket for a single.
Jason Holder to Liton Das. Outside off, third leave in a row. Better from Das.

Shannon Gabriel to Liton Das. Fractionally overpitched, clipped through mid on for a couple.
Shannon Gabriel to Liton Das. Gabriel sprays this one way down the leg side as Dowrich has to dive full length to stop it.
Kemar Roach to Nurul Hasan. Roach doesn't get the hat-trick! Sprays this one on the pads, clipped through mid-wicket for a brace. A terrific over though, 3 wickets and two runs from it.
Nurul Hasan strides out to bat. Roach is on a hat-trick. Can he get it?
Kemar Roach to Mahmudullah. OUT! Another one bites the dust! 8th Test fifer for Kemar Roach and he has broken the backbone of the tourists single-handedly. This was similar to the dismissal of Tamim Iqbal. On a good length on off, straightens after pitching. Mahumudullah tries to cover the line but can't. Ekes out an outside edge and Shane Dowrich behind the stumps takes a straightforward catch. The visitors are completely at sea.
Mahmudullah is the new man in.
Kemar Roach to Shakib Al Hasan. OUT! This is going from bad to worse for Bangladesh! What a start for the Windies though. We are only 45 minutes into the game and the athletic pacer has exploited the conditions to the optimum. He bowls this one in the avenue of apprehension around off and gets the ball to straighten after landing. That is enough to induce an outside edge from the hanging bat of Shakib. Jason Holder at third slip is safe as a house and accepts it gleefully.
Kemar Roach to Shakib Al Hasan. Fullish ball around off, pushed off the front foot to mid off.
The skipper, Shakib Al Hasan comes out to bat. He is returning to Test cricket after 9 months. Needs to play a captain's knock here.
Kemar Roach to Mushfiqur Rahim. OUT! The impact is fine! Bangladesh lose another experienced campaigner and are out of sorts at the moment. Third wicket for Roach! He goes wider of the crease and dishes out a fullish ball outside off. After pitching, it seams in as Rahim tries to keep it out but fails to do so and is pinged on the front pad. The Windies go up in unison and up goes the umpire's finger. Rahim has a look of anguish on his face and walks gingerly towards his partner. Decides to take the DRS eventually. Seems it will go waste though as it looked pretty adjacent. Time for the replays. The Hawk Eye rolls in and the impact is umpire's call. Then, the ball is going onto crash into the stumps. The on-field call stays. The visitors don't lose a review but they are in deep trouble.
Bangladesh are in deep, deep trouble! Roach has trapped Rahim in front of the stumps. However, the wicket-keeper batsman walks towards his partner and after a consultation, opts for the review. Only the impact is in question.
Kemar Roach to Mushfiqur Rahim. Outside off, Rahim doesn't play at it.
Shannon Gabriel to Liton Das. The third play and a miss in the over! Back of a length well outside off, there is no need to chase it but Das does just that only to miss it. He is flirting with danger.
Shannon Gabriel to Liton Das. The batsman has played that off the front foot and into the ground.
Shannon Gabriel to Liton Das. In the zone outside off, Liton lets it go.
Shannon Gabriel to Liton Das. This is poor from Das! Gabriel bowls this one on a full length wide outside off and he goes chasing after it. Luckily for him, he doesn't reach it or otherwise he would have been on his way back.

Shannon Gabriel to Liton Das. Fullish ball around off, pushed through mid on for a brace.
Mushfiqur Rahim is the new man in. This is his 50th Test innings away from home and he will want to make it a memorable one. Meanwhile, Roach gets his right leg stretched from the physio.
Kemar Roach to Mominul Haque. OUT! Gone! Roach is amidst a beautiful spell and he has pushed Bangladesh on the back foot. In the previous series against Sri Lanka, Roach's 8 out of 11 wickets were left-handers and he has added a couple more to his tally. Coming back to the ball, it is on a fullish length outside off, luring Haque to attempt something ambitious. He falls for the bait and goes for a drive away from his body. The bad thing is that he is on the move as well and hence, in no control. Ends up getting a thick outside edge towards gully where Shai Hope takes a fine catch. Roach immediately clutches below his right knee in his followthrough. Seems to be in some pain.
Kemar Roach to Mominul Haque. Edgy! Good length ball around off, straightens after landing. Haque tries to defend but gets an outside edge which falls short of the slip cordon. The good thing was that he played it with soft hands.
Kemar Roach to Liton Das. Angling into Liton who tucks it through mid-wicket for a single.
Kemar Roach to Liton Das. Fullish delivery, kept out watchfully.
Kemar Roach to Liton Das. In the air... but just wide! Fullish delivery, tailing in nicely. Das falls over a bit in an attempt to flick it across the line and the bat also turns in his hands. Bishoo is on the move as he goes to his right but doesn't dive. Two runs is the result. Well, the replays indicate that he should have dived. The ball was not far from him. Such small things matter a lot in cricket. Need to be proactive throughout the game.
Kemar Roach to Mominul Haque. Haque is off the mark immediately! Slightly overpitched on off, played with soft hands to covers for a single.
Shannon Gabriel to Liton Das. Stump-to-stump line, blocked solidly off the back foot.
Shannon Gabriel to Liton Das. That good length area is causing problems for the batsmen. Credit to the hosts for exploiting the same. Around off, a lot of zip on that one and the ball moves away as well to catch Das off guard. That was inches away from the outside edge of his blade.
Shannon Gabriel to Liton Das. On a length outside off, Liton takes a stride forward and punches it on the up to the extra cover fielder.
Shannon Gabriel to Liton Das. Defended off the front foot by the batsman presenting the full face of the bat.
Shannon Gabriel to Liton Das. Gabriel tests Das with a bouncer but he is up to it as he ducks under it.
Shannon Gabriel to Liton Das. Shortish ball on middle and off, Das pulls it unconvincingly past short leg and picks up a couple.
Mominul Haque comes in at No. 3.
Kemar Roach to Tamim Iqbal. OUT! Roach produces a beauty to give his side the initial breakthrough! He was continuously bowling a nagging line and length around the off stump corridor and has finally reaped the dividends. He bowls a good length ball around off from around the wicket, coming in with the natural angle. However, the ball just straightens a touch after landing. Iqbal has no option but to play at it and all he manages is a thin outside edge which is pouched safely by Shane Dowrich. Delight for the Windies!
Kemar Roach to Tamim Iqbal. Length ball well outside off, Iqbal is not tempted to fiddle with it.
Kemar Roach to Tamim Iqbal. The batsman defends it from within the crease.

Kemar Roach to Liton Das. Full length ball, swinging in from outside off. Liton is once again a touch jittery. Doesn't commit himself on the front foot and hence, an inside edge is induced on the push. The ball rolls towards wide mid on and the batsmen take a run.
Kemar Roach to Liton Das. Length ball outside off, Das points his bat skywards to let it be.
Shannon Gabriel to Tamim Iqbal. Erring in line and length. It is on the pads as well as overpitched. Iqbal flicks it with soft hands through mid-wicket and takes a brace.
Shannon Gabriel to Liton Das. Close shave! Good use of the crease from Gabriel. He goes wide of the crease and bowls a length ball which angles in prodigiously. Das is on his toes as he leaves his bottom hand from the handle but gets it off the inner half past the short leg fielder. That was not far away from him. A run results.
Shannon Gabriel to Liton Das. Gabriel hits the deck hard this time and generates some good bounce outside off, Das hops and taps it to the point region.

Shannon Gabriel to Liton Das. This is good bowling! Gabriel goes wider of the crease and angles in a length ball. Das is bamboozled by the sharp movement as he gets beaten and is struck on the thigh pads.
Shannon Gabriel to Liton Das. Defended off the front foot by the batsman presenting the full face of the bat.
Shannon Gabriel to Liton Das. FOUR! Ooh! Just wide of the diving gully fielder! Streaky runs. In the avenue of apprehension, straightens a bit after landing. Liton Das pokes at it with zero feet movement and gets a thick outside edge. The ball just goes past the left side of Hope and races to the fence.
Shannon Gabriel to Liton Das. Aggression from Gabriel immediately! Seems he is nicely worked up. He steams in and bowls a bouncer around leg stump, Das ducks under it in a jiffy.
Shannon Gabriel to share the new ball from the other end.
Kemar Roach to Tamim Iqbal. Tentative! On a length around off, there is a bit of nibble in the air. Iqbal is unsure whether to come forward or stay back. Ends up getting into a bit of tangle but the inside edge on his pads saves him. A maiden from Roach to start with!
Kemar Roach to Tamim Iqbal. Nicely played eventually! In the tight off stump corridor, Iqbal comes half-forward and plays it with soft hands. Gets it off the outer half of the bat towards third slip.

We are set to get underway as the slight drizzle has fizzed off. Good news for everyone! Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das will open the batting for Bangladesh. Kemar Roach will start the proceedings with the brand new cherry. Three slips, a gully and a short leg in position. Here we go...
Shakib Al Hasan says that it will be a tough series for them but their preparation is good. States that he is happy with his team and it will come down to how they perform. Ends by saying that they are going in with three pacers and two spinners.
Jason Holder says that they will bowl first. Feels that there is a bit of moisture on it and he will want his pacers to make use of it. Mentions they need to be consistent and sort out their no ball issues.
TOSS - The Windies win the toss and opt to field.
PITCH REPORT - Jeff Dujon assessing the surface says that there is a tinge of green on it but it has been rolled in as well. Feels that it will be tough for the batsmen initially. Reckons that it is a bowl first wicket.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, need to rise up to the occasion. They are a much-improved team, especially in limited-overs cricket but they need to translate such performances in the longest format of the game as well. Shakib Al Hasan is returning after a hiatus of 9 months in Test cricket and he will be a vital cog in the wheel for the visitors, both with bat and ball. Expect a cracker!
Overcast skies welcome us in Antigua, something which will please the pace bowlers. Cricket has taken center-stage in the Caribbean once again and it promises to be an exciting contest between two nations who have some formidable players in the mix. The hosts will be happy with the fact that their pace battery is well-oiled at the moment but they will be hoping for more consistent performances from their batsmen. Jason Holder has been leading from the front and will be aiming to inspire his men.
There is still plenty in this wicket for the pace bowlers. The Bangla bowlers were extracting some movement with the new ball but their lines and lengths weren't accurate enough to pose any threat. The big West Indian bowlers will be raring to have another shot at the Bangladesh batting. Don't go anywhere as the action will get underway soon.
The Bangladesh bowlers woke up quite late in this Test match. The batting faltered miserably and their bowlers also failed to create any magic. It took them three sessions to realize their strength but the damage was already done by then. In the afternoon session today, they bagged quite a few wickets all thanks to their spinners while debutant Abu Jayed finished with a 3-wicket haul and was the only pacer to impress.
Outstanding batting performance by Windies. Kemar Roach set it up nicely for them yesterday morning and their batsmen just capitalized. They carried the momentum into their batting and went on to earn a massive first innings lead. Kraigg Brathwaite was the hero with the bat as he scored a gritty century and was also involved in three handy partnerships. Devon Smith, Kieran Powell and Shai Hope also lent good support while Jason Holder and Kemar Roach scored some quick runs towards the end.
Abu Jayed to Shannon Gabriel. OUT! Windies bowled out for 406! The back of the hand slower delivery gets Jayed his third wicket. He serves it on a fuller length around off and Shannon tries to heave it across the line over mid-wicket. But it takes the top edge of his bat and balloons in the air towards cover-point. Shakib Al Hasan settles underneath it and takes the skier safely. Right then, the innings ends with Bangladesh trailing by 363 runs.

Abu Jayed to Shannon Gabriel. Angling into the batsman around off, Gabriel gets forward and defends it back solidly.
Shannon Gabriel reluctantly walks in next.
Abu Jayed to Shai Hope. OUT! Shai falls now. Back of a length delivery angling into the batsman, Hope walks forward and wheels his bat across the line. Seems to have middled it quite well but it goes straight into the hands of Tamim Iqbal at fine leg. A good knock by Shai, brought him back to form. Windies lead by 357 runs and the declaration has not come even now.
Abu Jayed to Shai Hope. Lands it full around off, shaping back in, Hope flicks it off his pads through mid-wicket for a couple of runs. Had he missed that, he would have been a plumb lbw candidate. Meanwhile, 400 comes up for the home team. This is the second time in 7 innings this year that they have touched this mark.

Mehidy Hasan to Kemar Roach. OUT! Hasan gets his revenge. Persists with his off spinner and lands it full around off. Roach tries to sweep but misses and is thudded on the pads. That's quite adjacent and the finger goes up after the appeal is made for lbw. End of an entertaining knock by Kemar.

Abu Jayed to Shai Hope. Full on middle, driven straight to mid on.
Abu Jayed to Shai Hope. Around off, solidly defended.
Abu Jayed to Shai Hope. DROPPED! Too casual from Mahmudullah. Jayed comes running in, hits the deck hard and gets the ball to bounce. Hope is caught in an uncomfortable position as he tries to fend. He is not too successful and the ball goes off his gloves, straight to Mahmudullah at gully. He comes running in, dives a touch, should have taken the dolly but the ball hits his palms, then his chest and dies down. Poor effort.

Abu Jayed to Kemar Roach. Appeal for a catch but turned down. There was a sound but not of wood on leather, I guess. A delivery down the leg side, Kemar looked to tuck and there was some deviation as the keeper dived to his left and took it. Replays seem to indicate that the bat hit the pad.
Abu Jayed to Kemar Roach. There you go. Pace to a tail-ender. This is landed on a length on middle, Roach looks to defend but the ball kicks off from a length and hits the splice of the bat and goes on to hit the box. Ouch. That would have hurt.
Welcome back for the final session. 31 overs left in the day. How long can or will the Windies bat? Declare at 400 or keep Bangladesh further in the sun for as long as possible? The players are back on. And we shall have pace to start off the third session. Abu Jayed steaming in to Kemar Roach.
... DAY 2, FINAL SESSION ...
Can this Test match end today? Surely Bangladesh are a better team than what they displayed in the first session yesterday. They should be batting at some point of time in this first hour after Tea itself, but they need to keep their spirits high. Stay tuned...
In spite of all this, Bangladesh would be frustrated. They would have hoped to skittle out their opposition quickly after Holder's dismissal but Roach has come in and deflated them. He did it yesterday with the ball, taking 5 wickets in the space of 12 deliveries while now, he has come out all guns blazing, scoring 25 from 32 balls in an unbeaten partnership of 37 with Shai Hope.
Finally Bangladesh work on their strength - SPIN. Shakib struck in the very first over after the break to get the centurion Brathwaite and that helped open a door. The middle order did not last long and the hosts slipped from 272/3 to 288/6. Skipper Holder then came and played a counter-attacking knock before he was consumed by Mehidy.
Did someone press the fast-forward button in the Lunch break? Well, it certainly seems so. Because from what was seeming to be a boring day of cricket with the Windies on 271/3, things have speedened up with 4 wickets in the session.
Mahmudullah to Kemar Roach. Down the leg side, Kemar works it through mid-wicket for a run. TEA ON DAY 2, WINDIES LEAD BY 332!
Mahmudullah to Kemar Roach. Down the leg side again, flick shot missed.
Mahmudullah to Kemar Roach. IS THAT OUT? Not according to the umpire. Down the leg side, spinning away sharply, Roach initially looks to turn it fine but then seems to withdraw his bat. The men around the bat go up in an appeal and the keeper, feeling left out, starts to shout as well. No review left for Bangladesh and replays are not conclusive. Was there a glove? Ummm...
Mahmudullah to Kemar Roach. That ball has struck the batsman on the thigh pad.

But there is some extra lift from the surface and it takes the shoulder of Holder's bat. It flies straight into the hands of Liton Das at short leg who makes no mistake. He tosses this one outside off and Dowrich gets a long stride to defend. Now, to the naked eye, it seems like the ball has bounced and gone to silly point. But the bowler and fielder are pumped up and confident and the two umpires have a chat. After a long talk, the decision is referred upstairs but the soft signal is not out. Now, here come the replays. At least for us, the first angle itself is very clear. The ball goes off the bat, straight onto the boot and then towards silly point where Liton Das dives to his right and takes it one-handed! Multiple views are seen and eventually, the third umpire is convinced. Dowrich walks back shaking his head. The hosts have lost 17/3 in 8.3 overs post Lunch.

Mehidy Hasan to Roston Chase. OUT! Trapped in front! Chase's ordinary run of form continues. Mehidy delivers a flighted ball around middle and it skids through with the angle more than spinning and changing its direction. Chase hangs on the back foot to play it but misses and is hit on the back pad. They appeal and the umpire has no reason not to lift his finger. Mehidy Hasan to Shai Hope. Safe! As expected the impact is outside off. A nicely tossed up delivery around off, Chase with minimum front foot movement tries to defend. But he expects the ball to spin back in a lot which it doesn't and goes on to square him up inside the crease. It then raps him on the back pad and speeds past the first slip fielder for a boundary. The umpire gets ready to signal for either runs or leg byes but Bangladesh opt to review it even before that. The third umpire first confirms that there was no inside edge as indicated by the Ultra Edge. After that the Ball Tracker puts everything to rest by confirming the impact to be outside off. The visitors have now exhausted all their reviews.
Time for the DRS! Bangladesh have reviewed an lbw decision. The impact seems outside off, let's see...

Nothing great with the delivery, it's a flighted one and wide outside off, Brathwaite reaches out for it and swats it through the line. Fails to keep it down and Mehidy at covers takes a sharp tumbling catch. Something to cheer for Bangladesh immediately after the break. End of an outstanding knock by Brathwaite. Welcome back. The players are also back on the field. Bangladesh continue to remain behind in this game. First their batsmen let them down yesterday and after that their bowling has been listless. They look under-prepared to say the least. Can they do some magic with the ball in the afternoon session? Only time will tell. Shakib has taken the onus on himself to do something. He is beginning proceedings with Shai Hope on strike...
...Day 2, second session...
Apart from a few odd deliveries, Bangladesh's bowling looked flat. Their bowlers refused to stick to one line or length and create pressure. It was a curious case of trying too many varieties which eventually didn't pose any issues to the batsmen. Let's see if they improve in the afternoon session. Do join us in a short while.
Kraigg Brathwaite notched up his century and that was the highlight of the session. He has scored 33 runs today and has gone about his business in a normal manner, which is blocking, blocking and hitting if there is an opportunity. Although it appeared that he lost his timing after the second new ball was taken and also survived a dropped catch. Still, he has fought hard and is amidst yet another partnership in this innings, which is worth 25 at the moment.
70/1 in the morning session. Windies have extended their lead to 228 runs and are going smoothly. The only wicket to fall today was of the nightwatchman Devendra Bishoo but that too happened after a lot of grind. The leggie frustrated the Bangla Tigers for 79 deliveries which also is the third most balls he faced in an innings. All this we're telling you to know the extent of the blunt Bangladesh bowling attack.

Rubel Hossain to Kraigg Brathwaite. Hossain goes full and serves it outside off, Brathwaite goes hard at it, trying to drive but it takes the inner half of the bat and rolls towards mid on for a run. Timing has been eluding him since the time Bangladesh have opted for the second new ball.
Rubel Hossain to Kraigg Brathwaite. That's more like it. A well-directed bouncer this time. Kraigg is taken aback as he sways away from the line of fire at the last moment. Didn't take his gloves down and it wasn't too far away from kissing it. Bad technique.
Rubel Hossain to Kraigg Brathwaite. Effort ball but directionless. A bouncer outside off is just a waste of energy. An easy leave for the batsman.
Kamrul Islam to Shai Hope. Another back foot punch by Shai and he finds the gap at covers for a brace.

Rubel Hossain to Kraigg Brathwaite. Bangs in a short ball on off, Kraigg takes on the challenge to pull it and does so off his front foot. Has not timed it well but it goes safely over mid-wicket for a couple.
A short leg in place as Rubel speeds in...
Kamrul Islam to Shai Hope. A full swinging delivery, around off, Hope pushes it back to the bowler who picks it up and throws at the striker's end. Doesn't hit the stumps and the keeper collects. Shai gives a look to Kamrul.

Kamrul Islam to Kraigg Brathwaite. WHOA! It has taken them around 80 overs but finally Bangladesh have decided to bowl aggressively. Abu Jayed to Kraigg Brathwaite. Full and outside off, pushed towards cover.
Abu Jayed to Kraigg Brathwaite. DROPPED! Very, very tough chance but at that position, you rarely get easy ones. A straightish ball from Jayed but that was a plan. Brathwaite seemed to be getting sucked right into it as he walked across and tickled it fine. But he did not realize that Bangladesh had kept a man at leg gully for that shot. The ball flew uppishly towards Liton Das in that position who dived forward. But unfortunately for him, the ball died down and brushed his fingers before going down.
Abu Jayed to Kraigg Brathwaite. Fuller and around off, better play this time. Pushed towards mid on.

Once it does, the ball shoots through. Bishoo is comprehensively beaten by pace and the ball just knocks the off stump out of the ground. A welcome wicket for the visiting side. Abu Jayed to Devendra Bishoo. Slips this way down the leg side, Bishoo misses his flick and the keeper does really well to dive to his right and stop it.

Abu Jayed to Devendra Bishoo. Pushes this back to the bowler.
Abu Jayed to Kraigg Brathwaite. On middle and leg, tucked through square leg for a single.
DRINKS BREAK. Nothing happening for Bangladesh. Nothing happening for Bangladesh. Nothing happening for Bangladesh. Nothing happening in this Test. Nothing happening in this Test. No, I have not gone bonkers. There is literally nothing to write in this game. Just that one moment where one might argue Shakib could have taken the review. Other than that, on a pitch which seems to be offering nothing, the bowlers have not asked any questions. Help yourself mode for the home side.

Rubel Hossain to Devendra Bishoo. Huge shout for LBW. Turned down. Seemed to be pitching outside leg. On a length, coming back in, Bishoo stayed back to flick but missed and was hit on the pads. Rubel screamed his lungs out but the umpire said no. Dear me - HAWK EYE SHOWS IT TO BE PITCHING IN LINE AND HITTING THE LEG STUMP! Well, if it is not going for you, it is certainly not going for you. A change in the field now. Deep backward square leg and a short forward square leg in place.
Abu Jayed to Devendra Bishoo. FOUR! Lovely for the batsman. New cherry and on the pads. Half volley. Far too easy for a night watchman even if he has not slept for the whole night. Bishoo flicks it to the square leg fence. The stand is worth 32 now.
Joel Wilson is on the field, the fourth umpire. He hands over the new cherry to Richard Kettleborough. Bangladesh are taking it straightaway. Rightly so. Abu Jayed, the debutant, to make use of the new nut first.

Short in length and wide outside off, Kraigg flashes his bat through the line and it flies off the outside edge to the third man fence. 7th Test hundred for Brathwaite and it has come after almost a year. Pitch report - Jeff Dujon is inspecting the playing area. Starts by saying that once the early moisture came out of the pitch yesterday, it became good for batting. Adds that if you look at the pitch now, there is still a little bit of grass but there are no cracks and it's really hard and nice for batting.
Danny Morrison catches up with Miguel Cummins for a little interview. The young pacer says that he has been working hard with the bowling coach Corey Collymore. Adds that they are working on the no-ball issues with penalties from the coach. Also states that he was a bit short in the last series, worked hard in the nets and got the perfect length for this pitch. Feels that they need to bat long and then pick up the 10 wickets.
A 10-wicket bonanza in the first session followed by just two in the next couple of sessions - That was the story of Day 1 of the first Test match between Windies and Bangladesh in North Sound, Antigua. It was a K-series not directed or produced by Ekta Kapoor. Kemar Roach and Kraigg Brathwaite were the stars with the former blowing away the visitors and the latter forcing them to submission with a gritty knock. Can the Asian team show some fight today or will it be once again a one-way traffic? Hello and welcome everyone for the coverage and stay with us for all the updates...
...Day 2, first session...
So, the Windies are in a position of immense strength (leading by 158 runs), one from which it will be difficult to displace them. In order to do that, the Bangladeshi bowlers need to get on top of their game. Seems bleak at the moment but you never know. The moisture in the morning might assist the pacers and they might rule the roost. Join us on Thursday at 1000 Local (1400 GMT) to catch all the action. Till then, cheers!
The Man of the Moment says that the bowling coach, Corey Collymore has done a great job with them. Mentions that things worked out well for him and he is really happy to get a 5-wicket haul. States that he made good use of the different angles on the crease and tried to make the batsmen play as much as possible. Informs that one of his mates, Alzarri Joseph is from Antigua and he gave him some good tips on how to go about on this track. Opines that the breeze might have helped him as it was a hot day. Adds that he takes an ice bath always after the game irrespective of what happens. Feels that his right leg is much better now and he is confident about bowling in the second innings.
The pitch did have plenty in it for the pacers. The Windies bowlers exploited it to the maximum but the visitors failed to extract the same. Debutant Abu Jayed though looked promising whenever he had the ball in his hand. Danny Morrison is interviewing Kemar Roach at the moment, let's see what the star bowler has to say...
Now, let's talk about Kemar Roach. In the morning session, he ran riot with the new ball and before anyone realized, he had five wickets in the bag. To be precise, he took only 29 balls to derail Bangladesh completely and the rest of the work was done by the pair of Cummins and Holder. The impact of that lethal spell by Roach was so much that the visitors experienced their all-time low as they got bundled out for only 43, their lowest-ever total in Tests.
After toiling hard for 243 balls, Abu Jayed finally produced the first breakthrough when he got Devon Smith caught behind (he was dropped on 34 once). The visitors, however, failed to capitalize as another useful stand followed between Powell and Brathwaite. When the regular spinners struggled to trouble the Windies batsmen, the part-timer Mahmudullah was handed the ball and he struck gold by dismissing Powell minutes before Stumps. Overall, it's been a dismal bowling show by Bangladesh thus far and they will have to bounce back on Day 2 to avoid getting too much behind in this game, if they aren't already.
111/2 in 36 overs bowled in the evening session. The home side certainly picked up its scoring rate after a snail-paced post Lunch session. Their openers were involved in a century partnership which also happened to be the first one after 62 long innings for the Windies. Both Kraigg Brathwaite and Devon Smith made full use of the toothless bowling attack of Bangladesh and scored their respective fifties.

... Day 1, Session 2 ...
The Windies will be cock-a-hoop as they have been flawless. Credit to their bowlers as they didn't bowl any no balls and the fielders didn't drop any catches as well. Seems that they have sorted this issues out after the Sri Lanka series. Kemar Roach was the one who dictated terms in Antigua. He proved his caliber to take his 8th Test fifer and was a joy to watch! The hosts will be aiming to bat sensibly and with positive intent. Bangladesh have to draw inspiration from somewhere in order to infuse life into the contest. Will they bounce back or will it be one-way traffic? Join us for the second session in a while.
Nothing much to write about Bangladesh. It is understood that they are not used to these kind of bouncy tracks but at this level, you can't give any excuses. Though they are 8th on the Test rankings, just one above Windies but the way they were found wanting in challenging conditions proves that they have a lot of work to do. The mindset has to be questioned as well. Even after losing half their side, Liton Das was batting recklessly and paid the price.
If you are wondering whether the match has started late, don't bother! We have witnessed an extraordinary couple of hours wherein a team was shot out in 90 minutes. The Windies made full use of the pitch after winning the toss with Roach and Cummins making merry. It was then supposed to be a tricky little phase for the opening pair of the hosts but the Bangladeshi bowlers didn't look threatening at all. Seems like they will have to toil hard throughout if they don't get into the act.

Rubel Hossain to Kraigg Brathwaite. Edged but safe! Good length ball outside off, Brathwaite shuffles across in order to defend it but gets it off the outer half towards third slip. The key was that he played it with soft hands.

Abu Jayed to Kraigg Brathwaite. Starts off with a length ball well outside off, Brathwaite doesn't fiddle with it.
That brings us to the close of a one-sided affair. Although they are ranked 9th, one below Bangladesh, they showed us what they can do if they perform as a team. Bangladesh, on the other hand, have a lot of work to do. They need to adapt quickly to these bouncy tracks if they are to pose any kind of challenge to the home side. Join us from 12th of July for the 2nd and final Test of this series in Jamaica at 1000 Local (1500 GMT). Till then, cheers!
Man of the Match, Kemar Roach, says he has played a couple of times against Bangladesh and has always done well against them. Mentions the pitches here have helped him a lot and they are a fast bowler's delight. Ends by saying Shannon Gabriel has always been fantastic and Miguel Cummins and Jason Holder provide great support.
Windies skipper, Jason Holder, says it is good to start the series well. Adds further he never thought this game would be so easy but their bowlers were exceptional and they set up the victory. Admits they still have a lot to improve and he hopes to carry forward the momentum in the second game. Appreciates the effort put in by the pace bowlers. Ends by saying they were disappointed after losing the last Test against Sri Lanka but is pleased to take a 1-0 lead in this series.
Bangladesh skipper, Shakib Al Hasan, says they knew it was going to be tough and they have been beaten comprehensively in all three departments. Admits it is not easy to adapt to these conditions but they will have to do so in the next match. Credits the way Nurul Hasan batted and also appreciates how Abu Jayed bowled on his debut. Ends by saying he is a good prospect for the future.
Gabriel came out this morning and picked up a fifer, his third this year, also the most by a bowler in 2018. The final resistance from Hasan and Hossain did last 79 balls but that was it. The Windies were a far superior team and gave the visitors a proper thrashing.
The away side didn't learn from their mistakes and were at sea one more time with the bat. A slight niggle forced Roach to stay away from action but this time, Shannon Gabriel came into the limelight. There was a danger of the tourists getting bowled out on Day 2 itself but somehow they survived. Gabriel was in his elements as he took four quick wickets while Holder picked up two before the close of Day 2.
After that, the hosts batted nicely as well. Kraigg Brathwaite was the hero as he played a gutsy knock and scored a brilliant ton. Devon Smith and Shai Hope scored fifties as well while there were useful contributions all through, five 50+ stands to be precise. Amidst all this, a mini comeback from the spinners, Shakib and Mehidy did give them some hope but they were already way behind, conceding a lead of 373.
Earlier, Holder won the toss and asked Shakib & Co to bat on a greenish track. The tourists were found wanting against the moving ball as Kemar Roach literally broke the backbone of the opposition, taking a fifer inside the first hour of the match. Cummins & Holder ensured that the downfall continued, bowling Bangladesh out for 43, their lowest score in a Test innings.
This has been a brilliant all-round display from the hosts and they have beaten the visitors black and blue. The victory margin could have been more for the Windies but the Bangladeshis showed some application for the first time in this game (this morning), delaying the inevitable. Shannon Gabriel to Kamrul Islam. OUT! Bowled 'em! The sound of the ball hitting the stumps is music to the ears of a pace bowler. Gabriel is on fire and he picks a fifer, 5th of his career and 3rd in this year. No other bowler has taken as many five-wicket hauls as Shannon has taken in 2018 - that proves he has been belligerent. Coming back to the ball, it is on a fuller length on off, angling in. Islam clears his front leg to play an agricultural slog over mid-wicket but misses it completely to find his stumps shattered. Shannon pumps his fist in the air with a lot of intensity. Kamrul must have been jolted after the blow he took on the chin a couple of deliveries back. Shows the lack of temperament of a tailender. Windies are only two wickets away from an innings victory.

He tries to sway away from the line but takes a blow just below the grille of the helmet, on the chin. He looks shaken and has a look of anguish on his face. The ball deflects off the thigh pad to the gully fielder. The Windies appeal but they are not that confident. Holder wants an answer from his mates but looks like he hasn't got any. Doesn't take the review. Rightly so, as the replay shows clear daylight between bat and ball.

Jason Holder to Kamrul Islam. Back of a length ball, Islam tries to play it across but gets hit on the thigh pads.
Jason Holder to Kamrul Islam. Safe! The answers to both the questions are no. Fullish delivery, shaping in, Islam tries to block it but seems to have got an outside edge behind as Smith crouches at second slip to take it and appeal. However, the umpire is unmoved. Holder after a chat with his teammates opts for the DRS. The replays roll in. Well, there is a clear edge. Has it carried? No, it has gone on the bounce into the hands of Devon.
Holder feels that he has got the better of Islam. There are two things in question - whether it is LBW or is there bat involved and has it been taken at second slip? Let's find out.
Jason Holder to Kamrul Islam. Fullish delivery around off, kept out watchfully.
Jason Holder to Kamrul Islam. Played to the point region by the batsman.
Kamrul Islam comes out to bat.
Jason Holder to Mahmudullah. OUT! Yes, the catch is clean! The dream continues for the Windies! A jaffa from Holder after a loosener to catch Mahmudullah off guard. It is on a back of a length on off and straightens with some extra bounce. The tall all-rounder is squared up as he pokes at it and ends up outside edging it towards third slip. Chase stationed there dives in front to collect it. The umpires refer it upstairs to see if it is a legal catch. The replay confirms that it is a proper catch.
Mahmudullah has been caught at third slip by Roston Chase but he is waiting. The umpires get together and decide to take it upstairs in order to check whether it has been taken cleanly or not.
Jason Holder to Mahmudullah. Wide! Holder starts off with a loosener down the leg side. Some stretching for Dowrich as he dives to his left to collect it.
We are set to get rolling. Mahmudullah and Nurul Hasan to resume their innings. Jason Holder to bowl first up this morning. Three slips and a gully in place. Here we go...
Pitch Report - Jeff Dujon assessing the surface that there are a bit of cracks now. Adds that there is some variable bounce because of this reason. Ends by saying that if the bowlers continue to bowl in the areas when the track has loosened up, this game is not going to last long.
Daren Ganga has a chat with the Windies coach, Stuart Law. He says that is has been a pleasing performance so far. States that they started this way against the Sri Lankans and it has been a similar show now. Praises his bowlers for performing well consistently and is happy with them. Mentions that he is aware that his pace bowlers have good averages since 2017. Wants them to replicate such performances in all the formats. Informs there is a big year coming ahead. Adds that Gabriel is leading the attack while Holder and Roach have played the perfect foil. Feels that the tracks have been good. Adds that the grass on it has helped to extract bounce. Ends by saying that Roach has a bit of a niggle and they don't want to risk him in this game.
The Windies, on the other hand, have been relentless. This has been a kind of performance which you visualize to pull off whenever you step on to the field. With only 4 more wickets to take and with a cushion of 301 runs, this should be a walk in the park unless the pair of Mahmudullah and Nurul Hasan decide to dig in. It will be nice to see if the visitors do utilize the final opportunity to showcase some of their skills.
Hello and a warm welcome to the coverage of Day 3 and probably the last day of the game. Everyone would have expected the Bangla Tigers to at least put up some sort of a fight but they have been completely at sea. There are numerous reasons behind it - their batsmen haven't applied themselves coupled with some poor shot selections. The approach has been casual as well and their bowlers have struggled to find rhythm. With so many blemishes, you ought to find yourself on the back foot.
... Day 3, Session 1 ...
Right then! Unless weather forces us to come on all the remaining days, we should be able to take the weekend off after spending some time on Friday to cover the remainder of this game. Now it is a different story if my manager asks me to do some other stuff in spite of this game not being there. Hush. Let us talk about the game. Let us be professional. Let us be sporting. Can Bangladesh fight? At least try and drag this game beyond Lunch on Day 3? Can Mahmudullah get to his 50? Can Nurul Hasan get some runs? Can the tail wag? Can Gabriel get his 5-fer? The questions will be answered when we come back at 10 am local (1400 GMT). But before that, two teams are playing a dead rubber in a tri-series - hosts Zimbabwe, in a similar state to what Bangladesh are in Tests overseas, take on Australia who are on a bit of roller coaster. Do catch that match as well. ADIOS! TAKE CARE!
Kraigg Brathwaite is having a chat with Daren Ganga. Says that he only wanted to feel the pace of the pitch. Since his bowlers had already shown the length to bowl, he was prepared in advance for what could come from Bangladesh. Admits that it was a bit tougher to play today as compared to yesterday. But says that he enjoyed his innings. On being asked about his poor conversion rate of 50s to 100s, Brathwaite agrees that it can definitely improve and he is working hard to do the same. Wants his side to come out tomorrow and wrap up the game quickly.
Given the fact that spinners took 5 wickets for Bangladesh today, they might have had their hopes up on playing the Windies seamers. The wicket seemed to be easing up with not too much of extra bounce. But that was a false hope. Their nemesis Roach, did not come to bowl at all in the second innings but Shannon Gabriel did his work - A fiery 4-fer which blew the top order away. Skipper Holder took 2 and Cummins would have got 1 as well, had he not overstepped.
The focus has been so much on Bangladesh's inept batting that we have almost forgotten that Windies batted as well in this game. They had 5 50-plus stands in the innings, raking up 406, riding on Kraigg Brathwaite's 121. This was after Kemar Roach's 5-in-12 bundled out Bangladesh for 43 on Wednesday.
12 wickets on Day 1, 14 on Day 2. Just 4 more needed to end this game. What we have witnessed on Wednesday and Thursday has reminded us of those yesteryears of the 70s and 80s when opposition used to cave in to the fast and deadly bowling from the Caribbean.
Miguel Cummins to Nurul Hasan. A short ball, Hasan gets across and fends it to the leg side. STUMPS ON DAY 2!
Miguel Cummins to Mahmudullah. Full and outside off, Mahmudullah is done for the day, getting to the other end with a push through the covers for a single.
Miguel Cummins to Mahmudullah. Down the leg side, left alone this time.
Miguel Cummins to Mahmudullah. IT IS A NO BALL! A rare blemish from the Windies in 2 dominant days of cricket. Cummins does almost everything right here - lands it slightly wider outside off and induces a slash - gets it caught brilliantly by the diving substitute Keemo Paul at point. The celebrations begin and just when we think that will be stumps, umpire Kettleborough stops everyone as he wants to check the overstepping. And yes, replays confirm that he has crossed the line.
Caught! But is that a no ball?
Miguel Cummins to Nurul Hasan. Nice shot. Full on middle, Nurul gets across and pushes it down the ground. It is a running race from two not-so-fast people - a slowing ball and a tired Gabriel. Eventually, the ball stops before the ropes and Gabriel gets to it from cover. Three runs taken.
Miguel Cummins to Mahmudullah. Outside off, a touch fuller, pushed through point for a single.
Miguel Cummins to Mahmudullah. Rash. Short and outside off, Mahmudullah slashes hard but misses due to the extra bounce.

Jason Holder to Mahmudullah. Around off, solidly defended.
Jason Holder to Nurul Hasan. This is outrageous batting. Clearly Bangladesh are rattled. So much so that the batsmen keep forgetting that there are not too many balls left in the day. A short ball, can be ducked under but Nurul compulsively goes for the hook. Gets a top edge which luckily for him, sails over the keeper running behind. A single taken.
Miguel Cummins to Mahmudullah. Outside off, another play and a miss. 2 more overs to go...

Miguel Cummins to Mahmudullah. Works it down the leg side for a single.
Miguel Cummins to Mahmudullah. Landed outside off, kicks off brutally, Mahmudullah tries to fend it off and just about succeeds in doing so.
After warming up for an eternity, Miguel Cummins is finally here. Got 2 overs up his sleeve for tonight.
Jason Holder to Nurul Hasan. Almost another one! Pretty similar ball to the Mehidy dismissal. Nurul too, feels for it, is beaten by the away movement, only unlike the other Hasan, he does not edge it. 3 more overs of nightmare left for Bangladesh tonight.
Nurul Hasan comes in now.
Jason Holder to Mehidy Hasan. OUT! Number 6 down. The night watchman's duties end even before the shift can be called a shift. On a length outside off, shaping away, nothing much a proper batsman can do, let alone a night watchman-cum-all-rounder. Mehidy feels for it and the extra bounce takes the glove behind to the keeper. Tough luck.
Jason Holder to Mehidy Hasan. Outside off, dabbed towards third man.
Jason Holder to Mehidy Hasan. Outside off, a play and a miss.

Shannon Gabriel to Mahmudullah. Outside off, punched towards cover.
Jason Holder to Mehidy Hasan. Outside off, let through to the keeper.
Jason Holder to Mehidy Hasan. Defended off the front foot by the batsman presenting the full face of the bat.
Jason Holder to Mehidy Hasan. That is a jaffa from Holder. He pitches this on a length around off and draws Mehidy forward. And then, gets the ball to move just a fraction away, past bat, pad and the off pole. Unplayable.
Jason Holder to Mehidy Hasan. The batsman has played that off the front foot and into the ground.
'Oh no MAAN' yells Holder in frustration at Mehidy. He wants to finish this off tonight. The skipper comes charging in but Mehidy stops him halfway through. Says he is not ready but one gets the feeling that these are all tactics to try and delay the game. In this case, delay the inevitable. But no fast bowler likes to be stopped halfway in his runup.
Jason Holder to Mehidy Hasan. Outside off, pushed away from his body towards point.
Jason Holder to Mahmudullah. Short and outside off, Mahmudullah cuts it through point where a fumble allows a single.
A night watchman? Ummm... yes. Mehidy Hasan.
Shannon Gabriel to Shakib Al Hasan. OUT! Edged and another one goes. Like Roach, Gabriel is terrific against left-handers from around the wicket. The big man lands this on a length around off and Shakib gets ready to play that accordingly. But then, the ball seams away, takes the outside edge and flies straight into the hands of Jason Holder at third slip. A replica of Shakib's dismissal in the first innings to Roach. 43 all out in the first innings, 43/5 right now.
Shannon Gabriel to Shakib Al Hasan. Landed on middle and off, watchfully defended.
Shannon Gabriel to Shakib Al Hasan. One more delivery down the leg side, wider than the previous one, Shakib lets it go this time.
