It was always going to be a huge task for Bangladesh. An innings defeat was always on the cards and that is exactly what happened but not many would have expected them to make the Kiwi bowlers toil hard for their wickets. However, once the opener fell, no other batsman came to the fore and Bangladesh were bundled out for a below par 234. For New Zealand, Wagner was the star with the ball as he finished with a fifer.

A convincing win for the hosts in the end but Bangladesh can be proud of the way they fought in their second innings. They did not surrender and showed great character to come so close to the deficit.
